Managing a group of kids with very different skill levels is no small task, but Drew handled it with patience, enthusiasm, and impressive skill. He quickly assessed where each child was at and tailored his guidance so everyone felt challenged while still having fun and building confidence on the mountain. Over the two days, Drew took the kids all over the mountain, helping them explore new terrain while always keeping safety front and center. His clear instructions and practical tips made a noticeable difference in their skiing, and it was great to see their progress even within a short time. Drew has a great way of explaining technique in a way kids understand, which helped them improve without feeling overwhelmed. One of the highlights for the kids was spending time in the ski park, where Drew showed them some fun tricks and helped them try new things safely. He struck the perfect balance between encouraging them to push their limits and making sure they stayed in control and confident. By the end of the lessons, all four kids were excited about how much they had learned and couldn't stop talking about their favorite runs. We're incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend Drew Harris to other families looking for a fantastic ski instructor. For the 2025/2026 season it was the location for good skiing and even more so in the later part. The strangest season I've ever seen. Snow then rain, hot then cold then hot again, but Mammoth came through with some very good skiing if you were there at the right time. Nice upgrades on the Mtn with high capacity lifts and grooming but would like to see better dining options at the Main Lodge. Another thought would be for Alterra to loosen up with lift ticket options and pricing instead of forcing one to purchase the Ikon. All considerations taken Mammoth is still a great ski mountain and I look forward to next season........

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

I came in here around 11am, however, their restaurant doesn't open until noon. There is a really nice lounge area where there are two fireplaces, jazz playing and a really cozy space to just relax. I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. Id also consider staying here on my next return, the surrounding area is just gorgeous!

A great hotel with plenty of amenities and relatively close to shopping and hiking!…read more Initially we had booked a standard king room, but upon arrival, we got upgraded to a two bedroom king room! That was really cool, we've never had such a nice upgrade before. The rooms come with all the standard amenities. In the summer, it's important to note there is no AC but the rooms have box fans in them you can put in the windows if it gets warm. The night time cools down pretty quickly so it's not terrible until the afternoon lol. But we spent most of our time outside of the room anyway. The pool is large and there are two hot tubs! Also a fitness room, which we didn't get around to using but it looked nice. Also, on the first floor, there's a store for any of the basics like sunscreen, snacks, T-shirts, and other gifts which is convenient. We had a great time staying here, and I think we would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area.

Only one window that opens with a screen in the bedroom. The living room door opens, but there is no screen so anything can fly in to your place. The place never really cools down. This lodge has everything for any skiers or snowboarders. It's five stories with different eateries and coffee shops overlooking the ski area. There's a school to learn skiing and equipment rentals if you forget to bring your own gear. There's also mountain sports to buy souvenirs and apparel.

They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

The pulled pork sandwiches, excellent, and the barbecue sauce was tasty. The bowl was filled with fresh greens, such as arugula, and had plenty of brisket, but the brisket was a bit tough and there were no knives to cut it. Then again were were there at 2:30 (near closing) so maybe the best cuts were gone. We would definitely go back. Let's face it, where else are you going to get great bbq and good beer at 9000 feet after all morning in the trails.

We just…read morespent a week there and I have been visiting back when they were open in the winter and everyone would ski in for the Valentine Day Dinner. That was sometime probably 35 years ago. Anyway last week we were in cabin 4 which is like a palace in the wilderness. It was our base of operations for hiking at Mammoth's Crystal Lake and of course Wild Willy's Hot Spring as well as the ancient hot spring at Bishop and Little Lakes Valley where the lodge is located. I have been in the Sierras since 1969 and was there the entire summer of 1970 and there is no area in the Sierras which doesn't have my footprints. I have stayed in the old cabins and the new cabins. Great place. Ignore the cranks who don't like the manager. The manager called us after we left and we were down the road in Bishop to tell us housekeeping found some valuable stuff we left behind and so we went back to retrieve it.

Extremely Poor Customer Service -- Save Your Money and Stay Elsewhere…read more The saga at this hotel just continued to get worse. We booked six rooms as a group, paying rates of up to $450 per night, and virtually everyone in our group experienced problems. In our case, we paid for an air-conditioned room for three days, yet the AC did not work for two days -- while the heat was actually on. Despite calling the front desk repeatedly, the problem was never appropriately resolved. At one point, Allie (sp?), who originally checked us in, responded to our repeated concerns by saying, "We have given you the manager's fan. What else do you want?" The fact that a hotel charging these rates considers a portable fan an acceptable solution for a nonfunctioning AC system says a lot. Things became even more disturbing when we spoke with Aureli, the assistant manager. Rather than resolving the problem, the proposed solution appeared to be moving us to an inferior room. When we tried to discuss the situation with her, the interaction escalated and she ultimately left the lobby while asking us to leave. Throughout our stay, we encountered an astonishingly confrontational attitude from staff. Statements from Aureli included "You need to leave the lobby," "You can't tell us what to do," and even, incredibly, "We have the room but won't give it." She even walked out on us when we tried to ask her the reason she could not change our room. This is not simply poor customer service; it reflects staff who appear inadequately trained in how to handle legitimate guest concerns professionally and respectfully. There were plenty of other problems as well: our bathroom cleaning was missed, the rooms were extremely noisy due to poor sound insulation, there was inadequate space for luggage, and there was no iron, phone etc etc But those inconveniences pale in comparison with the way guests were treated. Even more disappointing, Renee, the manager, never once spoke with us, despite the situation escalating to this degree. I do want to recognize Jenny, who was the one exception. She was courteous, helpful and genuinely tried to assist us, including helping us obtain the manager's fan so that we could at least sleep. We appreciated her kindness. When one guest has a problem, it can be an unfortunate incident. When a group books six rooms and everyone has complaints about the service, it suggests a much larger problem with how the property is being managed. For a hotel charging up to $450 a night, the combination of malfunctioning basic amenities, poor housekeeping, inadequate facilities and, above all, shockingly adversarial customer service is unacceptable. I rarely feel this strongly about a hotel, but based on our experience, I cannot recommend this property. Save your time, your money and your frustration and stay somewhere else. This hotel needs a serious review of its management, staff training and basic standards of hospitality.
