We were here for six nights and enjoyed our stay. This location has fantastic access to outdoor activities in every direction. Some really nice views of the Mammoth Mountain ski facility from this place! All the staff are very friendly starting right at check-in and helpful when we needed it. Overall, the facility is a bit dated, and some things could use repairing or replacement, but everything worked, was clean, and had a nice mountain chalet, feel to it. We ate at both restaurants located on the property, enjoying the yodeler by far the best! Outside hot tub and pool have great views of the mountain and the indoor hot tub tubs are for when it's too cold outside. Great access to outdoor activities at 8900 feet! It was nice to not be stuck in the town of Mammoth Lakes and up in nature! I would not hesitate to stay here again on a future visit read more

We stayed at Mammoth Mountain Inn for 4 nights during the week and, once again, it delivered exactly what we needed. The location is excellent -- less than a 5-minute walk to the gondola. They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. The location is unbeatable--being right at the ski mountain made everything so easy and stress-free. The views were amazing, especially in the morning. One of the most notable things for us was the shower pressure--honestly some of the best we've ever had, which was perfect after a long day in the cold. The lobby fireplace was also a highlight. Took a four day snowboarding trip to Mammoth and stayed at Mammoth Mountain Inn in a one king bedroom. The location is the real selling point here. You are right on the mountain, which makes early lift lines and mid day breaks incredibly easy. Roll out of bed, grab your gear, and you are basically there. The front desk and restaurant staff were genuinely great and deserve credit. Big shoutout to John the shuttle driver for being friendly and on it, and to Mark at the upstairs restaurant who made après dinner feel warm and welcoming after long days on the slopes. That said, the room and overall hotel cleanliness were pretty disappointing. Housekeeping felt inconsistent at best, and the room did not feel especially clean when we arrived. For the price and the reputation, this was a letdown and hard to ignore after a few days. The hot tub situation also missed the mark. It requires walking outside to a separate building, which is not ideal in snow gear, and the overwhelming chlorine smell made it less relaxing than advertised. Overall, the location and staff do a lot of heavy lifting here. If being slopeside is your top priority, it delivers. Just manage expectations on cleanliness and amenities, or be prepared to focus your happiness on the mountain instead of the room. read more

Bryan hooked us up with a free upgrade to one of their loft suites as they were pretty slow he said (it was July). We loved this room, as it was bigger and had a view of Mammoth Mountain. The only downside is it had no AC so the first night was tough, with it being uncomfortably hot. From then on, we had to leave the screen door open all the time to let in the cold outside air to get the room cooled down. We definitely had some altitude sickness symptoms the first two days (base of Mammoth Mountain is over 9000ft elevation) and later saw they sell oxygen inhaler things in the gift shop. The kid working at the gift shop seemed stoned or suffering from altitude sickness himself, and we had to get his attention and remind him to give us the food we bought. The rest of the staff was super friendly and acclimated to the altitude though. read more

Definitely some strong pros and cons. The con is that it is pretty old and shows it age. The pros are the location and the service was top notch. Also very dog friendly. Dogs were everywhere. Requires $200 deposit and extra $50 a night. We stayed in a 2BR with loft. The carpet and the wall paper definitely show their age, but the beds are decently comfortable and sheets are clean. Plenty of towels. Maid service was great. Can request morning, afternoon or evening. There is underground covered parking, but it is very limited and can be very tight for larger trucks/SUVs. Otherwise you have to park outdoors. There is a heated pool and 4 hot tubs in the west annex building. 3 indoors and 1 outdoors. Very small gym. Location is fantastic. Literally right across from the gondola and discovery chair. Loved the ski valet. Located in the main lobby. You can drop off your skis/boards and ski boots whenever you come in. They will also keep your regular shoes for you while you ski. There is also a small rental shop in the main lobby also. They don't carry demos but you can drop off any Mammoth rental there. Don't have to walk all the way to the rental shop in Main Lodge. Service was top notch all around. read more

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, especially given the high price Mammoth Mountain Inn charges. The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay. read more

Location, location, location! This is a true ski in and ski out hotel next to the Main Lodge. Its very dated and in need of a total make over however it does its job. Our place was clean, very spacious, 2 bedrooms, a living room with a full size kitchen and one bathroom. All the furniture was very basic, carpet had some wear and tear. There are 2 dinning options on site: Mammoth side bar and Grill AND The Yodler (which closes at 5). Convenience factor is a key here, no need to drive to the town for dinner, if you have a kitchen in the unit, cooking is also an option. There is also a small coffee/ souvenir shop on the main floor next to the check in desk that has some breakfast pastries for sale as well i noticed wine and beers in the fridge. After a day on the Mountain we loved to spend some time in the jacuzzi, there are 3 indoors and one large one is outdoors next to the heated pool. Overall its an amazing location. read more

Not that the cleaners don't clean it's just old and nasty with a smell of mold. Floors so thin you hear every step the floor above you make. People checked in at midnight slamming things down. I had a really disappointing stay at this Mammoth Mountain Inn. The place feels incredibly outdated like it hasn't been renovated in decades. The furniture is worn out, the carpets look old and questionable, and the overall vibe is honestly a bit creepy, especially at night. The hallways are dimly lit, no elevator, which just adds to the uneasy feeling. For a ski destination that should feel cozy and welcoming, this place felt neglected and uncomfortable instead. It definitely did not match the price or expectations. I would not stay here again and would strongly recommend looking at newer or recently renovated options in Mammoth. read more

I stayed here with my mom and sister for a quick two night trip. We brought my sisters two hairless dogs and stayed in a pet friendly room. when we arrived in the room, my sister immediately said that it smelt like a homeless person dropped their pants and peed everywhere. The room itself was very dusty, like no one had stayed in it for a long time. My mom and sister both have allergies, this room made their allergies worse no matter what even after taking allergy medication. Going outside helped clear their sinuse. My mom kept saying the whole trip that it smelt like someone died in our room. Opening the windows did help with the smell but not completel. The room itself was also very dirty. The pillows in the closet for the Murphy bed, had hair on them. The bath tubs looked liked they needed to be scrubbed with bleach, they had stains in them and dirt specs. on our last night while we were watching a movie, my mom felt bugs biting her. The property had construction going on in the basement for the walls and in my opinion I think it's the rooms they should be upgrading, like ripping out the old carpet that looked like it was from the 70s that is probably contains more dirt than Mammoth Mountain. I had to pay a 200 dollar deposit for the hairless dogs we brought and pay 50 dollars a night on top of that, for a room that was already dirty to begin with. I can proudly say this was my first and last time staying at this facility. Our room was 605 on the second floor of the west building and it was disgusting. read more

This is a dump! If you have a modicum of class move on! Had the 1 bedroom condo and everything is dirty, you don't want to sit anywhere it's so dirty, and the smell, OMG! I paid for 3 days and left after 2 it was that bad, ate the 3rd night, didn't care. Much better off staying in the village because the only option to eat at night is the mammoth mt inn or drive to the village. Did I mention parking a mile from my room and moving heavy bags to the room? yeah that was fun. Paper thin walls, lots of noise, akin to a motel 6 with the dirt! Ok staff is fine, but seriously folks put some $$$ back into the business! I didn't complain because I'm sure they have heard it all and numb to it! My boyfriend and I just stayed here for my birthday. We originally booked for 2 nights. Check in was so easy, and we were able to check in early- all the stars aligned for us that day. Shauna was amazing and helped us get checked in. She was so friendly and made our first impression of the hotel amazing. We wanted to extend our stay 1 night, which we knew might not be possible. Shauna helped us again, and we were able to successfully book another night! She also made it so we didn't have to move rooms! Shauna really made our arrangements easy and she was sooo friendly and professional. Ben was also a big help with questions we had. The staff here are amazing!!! The rooms had space heaters in them that I loved, along with the wall heater. It was cozy and we had a great view of the mountain from the room. The staff cleaning the rooms were all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of clean towels, great smelling shampoo. My room also had a humidifier which was soooo helpful to me. The bed was so comfy, I wish I could have kept the pillows they were amazing! The hot tub area was great!!they had hot tubs where you could have more privacy indoors, with the option to open the door to let the cold air in. They also had a large outdoor hot tub with a beautiful Mountain View. This area was nice and we made a lot of new friends! We will definitely be back. Thank you so much! read more

Pros: location obviously is the only real draw. (Incredibly convenient (especially when it's late season and the only ski in/out on mtn!) Or if you have a dog- huge draw. The main entrance is really kitschy. Mountain rustic vibes. One fireplace which is where we would hang since the rooms are gross All the staff was pretty friendly The jacuzzi and pool are also nice. Great views. Friendly guests everywhere. Cons: Really rough around the edges. The rooms are a little gross. Whomever you are, you're most likely roughing it here. At first we got put in the ugly green run down building (Yodler haus) but the room was unacceptable. (Seriously this building looks like it should be demolished!) Moved to a room in the main building which was better but they are very run down. The bathroom was pretty gross and falling apart. Tiny rooms. Not sure what the hold up is for a full revamp but it's in desperate need of one. Omg it would be amazing if it was actually updated. Also not accommodating. Wouldn't give us a later checkout on an extremely slow Wednesday super late season. Come on! read more

I Love the place. It is so hard to get a room here during the winter, but now that it is just fall I got one pretty easily. The room is clean and beautiful. The bathroom is kinda small but it is functional and clean. I come here to celebrate my birthday. When I got here I found out that they upgraded my room to a 1 bedroom condo from a queen-queen room. If that is not generous I don't know what is. Adriana the shift manager said they got availability so they did it. She also assisted me quickly when I checked in and explained everything even the bears which can break into your car when you leave food in there. I am so surprised that the room is not so tired being near the ski resort. It still looks ok. I will for sure come back here. Thank you read more

The rooms are a bit dated, but most condos/ air bnbs around the area haven't been upgraded as well. This location has the advantage of a ski in ski out location. The bed however was very comfy and they didnt skip out on providing a lot of pillows. Seth at the front desk was awesome. He made checking in a breeze and even upgraded our room. He's also very knowledgeable regarding the hotel rooms and accommodation. Overall MMI provided a very pleasant experience to bookend our 2025 winter season. read more

This place is so convenient for skiers and snowboarders...avoiding having to look for parking and walking oh man this was great! My husband and I went snowboarding and then when we got tired and hungry we just slopes back into our hotel room... although the room that we did get had a great view of the slopes but the bathroom had molding and the window couldn't open all the way so the air circulation was low and it was hard to breath even with the AC on. It smelled a bit weird and it was an old building... I would like to book this again but mayb not at the same building.. probably a different cabin. read more

First off, very welcoming lobby and friendly staff. Quick check-in and offered to lock up our bikes for the night which I greatly appreciated. The room, a double queen. Size was fine. View was amazing - truly, and with windows open all night the mildew smell was almost imperceivable. Unfortunately, there was a leak in the bathroom of unknown origin that must not have started recently. Our room was in a basement of sorts, renamed First floor. But garage adjacent. It was mostly clean and beds were soft and comforting after a long day of biking and hiking. My main complaint is absolutely zero complimentary coffee, tea, or even hot water in the lobby. That said there was a very nice worker in the lobby general store who gave us hot water for free so we could add our tea bags. She agreed it should have been served in the lobby. I don't know her name but her gesture and other nice staff members made our stay memorably nice. read more

We rented a condo type room in the east/west building. Pros: it was huge. Loft upstairs and 2 downstairs bedrooms. It had everything we needed to cook. The beds are clean and comfortable (newer likely) which was a huge relief considering the shape of the rest of the unit. The bathroom linens are clean and fresh. Good water pressure! The location is great except there is no beginner terrain to move around the mountain. You don't have to deal with the crowds and apres' of canyon. Cons: this place is WORN. The main building appeared to be upgraded slightly but the building we were in was really pretty bad. The carpet in our unit was gross. There was a smell. The living room furniture was pretty grimy. We got extra sheets to put over the couches. The way our unit was situated with the bedrooms downstairs we were pretty shielded from noise but the walls are paper thin. For the price we felt pretty upset. Likely wouldn't stay again. read more

We came to town for a destination wedding for a girl I consider a daughter. Amy and Johnny's wedding! My daughter Kiley was a bridesmaid so this wedding was a family affair. The did offer special rates because of the wedding and Amy the bride had reserved a bunch of rooms for all of her guests. My review here is only about the Inn itself because the staff did a great job with the wedding itself! So we decided to stay 3 days to make a long weekend out of it because I had never seen this side of the Sierra before. I know I'm a bit spoiled with accommodations so I'm taking that into consideration as I write this review :) When you come into the Inn the lobby is just beautiful and the well worn leather couches were all so inviting and comfortable. We did have a bellman help us with out massive amount of stuff so that was great. We got to bring our dog so that was a plus. Okay the room...I mean it was tiny. I know this is what skiers want is just a place to flop after a long day of skiing, it get that. This place was built in the 50's and the room and carpet looked very old. I literally wouldn't step on the carpet with my bare feet! The toilet was running on from the first night and that got to be old... The bed itself was pretty comfortable but I always bring my own pillow on road trips like this one. The positive was we had a screened in door that we could open for fresh air. Another good thing is one of our family friends from Reno was in the room right next door! We were more than ready to leave that Sunday and get back home to our 6000 square foot home! Lol spoiled! I've included the final receipt so you can see the ridiculous amount of services fees and taxes they add on, California I do not miss you! We did get to go one some beautiful hikes and enjoy the majesty of this area. I've lived in Salt Lake City, Truckee and Squaw Valley in the past but this area has stunning vistas! read more

We love this place, been coming for years. It is the original lodge and has a lot of history. If you are looking for fancy, upscale, and new accommodations, this is not for you. If you are looking for a place where you can walk to the Gondola and ski back to your room, this is your place. Ie Subaru, yes. Range Rover, maybe not! There are tons of drawers in the rooms, full closets, fridges, microwaves, and tubs. Yes, they are aged, if you have kids. They have rooms with lofts and kitchens. There are 4 hot tubs, 3 indoors, and 1 outside, plus a pool and a small gym. They have a restaurant and bar. The food is very good.. you HAVE to get the beniets ( sp?). There is a little store for snacks and necessities. The staff is very accomodating and nice. I had a problem adjusting the heater, and it was replaced within an hour! read more

Big place few miles out of town. We visited to see fall colors in the Eastern Sierra! booked two rooms on a Saturday. Lobby looks good in a solid Western architectural style. Top floor rooms as we requested. Rooms are good, but the East building looks plain inside. Fridge but no microwave. Wi-Fi seems OK but did not upload vacation photos. In each room, a very cute elephant made of a folded towel was sitting on the pillow! Heating did not work in one room despite maintenance's late-night attempt to fix it. Housekeeping kindly brought us some disposable utensils. Front desk was very responsive to our requests; both housekeeping and maintenance showed up promptly. Great stars on a clear moonless night from the overflow parking lot. As in other Mammoth hotels, the front desk asked us not to leave food or cosmetics in the car - the town bears may smell it and rip open the car to get it! read more

Not the place you want to stay if you want to get any sleep. It's 64 degrees in our room since the heat won't turn up anymore, and we have two howling and barking dogs in the room next door. The front desk says they can't do anything about the dogs. The only good thing about the inn is its proximity to the mountain, too bad they rely fully on that and pay little attention to anything else. read more

This is not the Westin, nor the Hilton, nor even a Holiday Inn Express, but we love it for what it is: an old timey, crusty, stay across the street from the Main Lodge and 3 lifts. The lobby/shared areas are very dirty and never cleaned. I stayed here for 3 nights and the stairs and lobby were NEVER cleaned. The same rocks and sand were still there when I arrived and left. Be sure to bring flip flops or slippers to wear in your hotel room because the carpet is STICKY. This place looks like it has not been remodeled since the 80s and some room's deck fence is completely broken off. For the price you pay per night, you would think this place would have more up keeping. The only 2 good things are employees are very nice here and it has a gondola that is a 2 minute walk from the inn. read more

This place was a solid spot for us to stay during our trip. I'm rounding up to 4 stars, as the place itself is quite dirty and dated. It also requires a lot of lugging stuff up stairs, as the elevator was not working (and seemed like it hasn't for a while) in our section of the hotel. It's definitely overpriced, and is clearly geared towards skiers who need only a place to sleep and nothing more. The room itself was very small, particularly for the price, but the bed was comfortable. Given that we didn't come to ski, I'm not sure I'd recommend staying here, but in a pinch it's a bed to sleep in. read more

Visited for a snow trip and this place is still awesome for that ski-in-ski-out experience. -Easy walk out to and from Main Lodge lifts = easy lunch spot in our room versus hunting for spaces in the crazy lodges. -Had to park outside during the storm but the hotel was able to provide shovels and a CAT+operator for digging our sedan out. -Indoor hot tubs were awesome after a day on the slopes. -Our room was a little dated but clean enough. Bring earplugs because the walls are super thin. -I heard that they have a shuttle that can take you to and from the village after the free Mammoth shuttle closes. read more

I'm giving 3 stars due to the location and easy access to the lifts. If that's all your looking for it's very accessible to walk back and forth with little ones. There are some rooms that have a full kitchenette (full fridge and stove) and others that had a small fridge in the room. Otherwise, the place has been around for many years and it definitely needs some work. Walls are a bit thin and they do allow pets. I used white noise to drown out any noise which helped when falling asleep. You can add earplugs too. Great customer service and the general store at the lobby was convenient for gifts, snacks and coffee! They offer a variety of Starbucks brew (Blond, Vernon...what I can remember), salad, sandwiches, and ice cream. There's a small fitness center (16+yo) for those who are interested. Also shuttle service to take you down to the Village for Shoppes and restaurants. I would highly recommend reserving in advance prior to your arrival especially during the weekend or holidays. Cute little inn at the top of mammoth mountain. We booked a standard king size bed room and when we checked in, we got upgraded to a "king loft" on the 200s side of the main lobby area. The standard king room was one floor with just the standard king bed. The king loft had the king size bed on the first floor by the room entrance and two twin size beds upstairs. The bathroom in this king loft was pretty small. I was expecting since it was an upgrade that the bathroom would be bigger. Then again I'm not sure how big the standard king bathroom was so I cannot really compare. The loft comes with a large window and a fan. According to the packet there is no AC equipped but there is a heater. Thank goodness it was not extremely hot when we arrived. It's a very old looking ski resort and I was expecting a top of the line interior. In the room, you can tell it was on the older side with some paint chips and older shower fixtures. At the sink, it looked like there used to be a hand towel holder but it's clearly gone with just 2 holes by the sink. During the night I closed the inner curtain and noticed a large temperature difference. The curtain makes it so the wind coming from the window was pretty much nonexistent. It became very hot to a point where I couldn't go to sleep for over 2 hours. I ended up using the chair to allow some of the curtain to be pulled back so that there can be some air circulation in the room and was finally able to fall asleep. The second night was better because it was cooler at night so it was easier to fall asleep especially since we figured out the curtain situation to get more air flow. The pool area was cute, it had 3 indoor hot tubs and 1 outdoor pool and hot tub. It was a little difficult to find because the room I was staying at was the main lobby side whereas the pool was on the west wing. Overall, pretty standard place nothing too special. read more
