Helped me to find a transmission that kept my old vehicle running, all at a fair price.

Driveshaft fell out while driving approximately 1000 miles after repair. I believe bolts were left out, not installed correctly or left loose. This left a whole in the floor along with costing me a over $850 for driveshaft repair. Jason at front desk was nice and professional, but over all I'm not satisfied. This was absolutely a mistake on their end and they should have replaced driveshaft and repaired floor at no cost. read more

Such a horrible business. They should be ashamed of treating people like trash. I had my vehicle in this shop for a month. I was more than patient with them. I called them every 10 days for updates. Ultimately, I got a quote approximately 5K for a transmission repair. I thought it was too much and it was definitely more than the vehicle was worth. I decided to take my vehicle elsewhere and asked that they have it ready for a wrecker to pick it up. That morning I arrived and didn't think much of it. I paid what was owed and thank them. It was $527 for their diagnosis. The wrecker was there to pick up my vehicle but there was a slight problem. They couldn't get to it because another vehicle that was getting repairs was parked next to mine. It's was about 10" from my vehicle. I asked them if they can move it and they refused. I was a bit confused. The wrecker driver asked to move it and they refused. Then it hit me. I saw how they had it all payed out. You can't get mad/upset because I decided NOT to get repairs done there. "A customer that decided to take business elsewhere, well we will just screw him over and make it impossible to take his vehicle". Eagle transmissions you had such a large parking lot, but you decided to park that other car next to mine knowing I was going to go pick it up. You purposely blocked my vehicle in. Then, when I asked you to move the other vehicle, you refused knowing that a wrecker driver could not get it, shame on you I will never do business with you again and I hope hard-working people will read my review and decide to take their business elsewhere. It was such a horrible experience that the wrecker drivers two of them left (Bass-Towing). We had a flatbed wrecker and a regular wrecker (wheel lift) . But you refuse to help us out. All you had to do was move that car 5'. How did I get my vehicle out? Good question. When I got into it, the emergency brake was not properly set it rolled back and onto the roadway (Highway 66). You secured it with 1"x4" wooden block 8 inches in length. I saw how you secured the vehicle next to mine. You used a commercial grade rubber stop. A Rowlett police officer saw me roll back into traffic. She this activated, her emergency light and help me by pushing my vehicle get to safety. She got out and physically pushed, this was a female police officer kudos to you Rowlett PD. Eagle Transmission what's done is done. Learn from your mistakes. Do ever do this again. I had my car towed to this location after it stalled on the freeway. The car was sputtering as I pressed the gas. When they got my car, they kept it for 3 days, then called me to say that they can't begin to inspect my car because my battery was dead and needed to be replaced (there was no problem with the battery). I offered to replace the battery on my own so that they can figure out why it stalled on the freeway. They told me that the battery has to be replaced by them in order for them to further troubleshoot my car, and its gonna cost over 400 bucks. read more

I took my 2005 Mercedes C55 to Eagle Transmissions in Rowlett. They fixed my transmission promptly and charged me a lot however if a Mercedes Dealership would have fixed it, it would have cost two times a lot. My car was shaking when I got up to high speeds (not while breaking) - they recommended I have pretty much my whole front assembly replaced.. axel, strut, rotating assembly, all of that. I take it somewhere else for a second opinion and it ended up being that my back tire was bald! There was metal thread showing on the tire & Eagle Transmission let me leave with out A SINGLE WORD of how bad my tire was. This shop is a scam, they tell you one price and then tore my vehicle down without MY approval and then wanted to charge me $4000 for a transmission, when I refused, I bought the transmission myself and brought to them to put it. When I went to pickup they stated no problems or anything, I went to get into car and noticed damage inside, I questioned them and they said oh yea your truck got broken in to out back, we are by the Dart station and lots of Crooks ride the bus in to here and break in cars. They gave me a police report number and assured me they would take care of damages, which were around $1500.00, one I provided those quotes they refused, wanted me to file on my own insurance...now they wont respond...STAY AWAY read more

Took my 2017 Audi Q7 for a transmission fluid change. Been towing rv often lately. Had a good experience and wanted to share.

Front desk guy was a very good people person. Not just with us but I heard him on the phone while we waited trying to find another person find an auto shop that they felt more comfortable with because they were unhappy with Eagle's diagnosis. Even offered to drive the car to the other shop. For us, AC problems. Could have been a host of issues, possibly expensive. I brought it to them at noon with a full garage. They got it in banged on the blower motor and it worked. Charged me nothing. Offered to call me the next day with a price to replace it. This is the kind of behavior that builds trust. When customers are skeptical about things they don't see or understand, they seem to accept this and work with it. I'm definitely coming back. read more

I took my 2013 Ford Taurus to your shop for an evaluation/diagnostic on 09/18/2022. I was advised that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. I spent 5 thousand dollars on a rebuild. On the day I dropped it off, we had a discussion about how I had just spent 6 thousand on a brand new engine and that I was in a really tight spot financially especially since I was having transmission problems. I was told by you, Jason that you all were a company that was trustworthy and reliable. Your website and your words made me feel comfortable. Your reviews were top notch. I felt like I was in the right place with the right people taking care of my vehicle. When I picked up my car on 09/01/2022, before I left, my check engine light was on. I went inside to let you know. You ran the codes and told me to drive it. You cleared the codes and I took off. Right away I noticed some noises that I called you as I left. I told you that it didn't seem right and you sounded upset and told me you didn't know. I told you I would send you a video. I sent the video and NO response. I took the car home and my husband found something was loose underneath and was able to tighten it up. Easy fix, no problem. My check engine light was still on. My husband has a tool that shows the codes and saw it was a sensor that was coming up. Simple fix, no problem, we changed the sensor. The light was still on. I took it to a mechanic who said I was looking at a wiring issue which they couldn't really say exactly until they get in there which was going to take about 4 hours of labor. It ended up being a cut wire. They knew I had just had my transmission done and said it was probably done at the transmission place but could not put it in writing. Realistically, with all of the hands that were in my car, from the 3 mechanics we took it to, the engine repair, and the transmission I didn't think I had any grounds to say where this happened. I let them fix it and that was that. Another $350 out of pocket. It was time to go back to Eagle Transmission & Auto Repair for my 500 mile test drive as was instructed to do, I happened to ask if my codes were ran prior to them starting on my car and remembered that they ran them before I left their parking lot. I explained the situation and was advised that yes, the codes were ran and prior to them touching my vehicle the code was not there but after it was. Jason admitted it looked pretty much like it was their fault but would not admit to it directly and said there was nothing he could do. I tried to explain that I was out $350 for no fault of my own. My only fault was not taking it back even though I brought it up before I left. I explained the hardship I was in and even got emotional. I was told there was absolutely nothing that could or would be done. I told Jason to please ask the owner if there was anything at all that could be done. I would take anything. After all, it was completely proven that it was in fact their facility that cut/ripped my wire and he said he had hard copies showing the results of the scans in his office. Yet, Jason kept telling me it "seems" like it was them but he advised he would not and could not approve anything for me to compensate me for their error. At one point he said possibly he would be able to give me $100 in credit but couldn't make that decision. I asked him to please ask anyway (the owner and to tell him my situation) and to let me know. He said that this has happened in the past and the owner is very strict about that and knows he will not do anything to help me. I asked him again to please ask anyway and just TRY. He said he would. Tomorrow it will be two full weeks and have heard nothing. I never even got a sincere apology. All I got was that I should have brought it back to them and I shouldn't have let another shop fit it. I don't know anything about cars but I know that a transmission place usually focuses on transmissions. I tried to tell him something was off on my car from the moment I turned on my car. I tried to tell him something was off when I drove off and even sent a video. I got no response. To me, this was an unfortunate event and was not handled correctly. This was supposed to be a place to trust and be reputable. Definitely not my experience. Very disappointed. read more

My car was having issues with switching gears so I took it here to get my transmission checked. They assured me that transmission was still good, just needed a maintenance tune up and that would FIX the problem. I agreed to it and paid the $500-something dollars. Went to pick it up and as I was driving home it STILL had the issues! Took it back- they ran some tests over another 3 days and told me something else was wrong with it. My question is, why was it not double checked to make sure the problem was fixed before letting me drive it home? Also, the problem got significantly worse after they worked on it. If your having transmission trouble, I would take a HUGE pass on this place! The front desk guy Frank is Rude, Arrogant, and overall he treats people as if he were a bully! I could not believe he is an owner! He will definitely pressure you into doing work on your vehicle. Ladies beware!!! After it was all said and done, my bill wa over $2k! The repulsive news is when you receive your so called invoice! It included two lines of text stating the work done. There was not an itemized bill of the work done much less a list of parts, labor, or hours completed! I felt like I had just been scammed and with no itemized bill I wouldn't even know it if I had been! When I asked for a detailed bill, Frank said that corporate doesn't allow it in their computer program. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Buyer beware with this company. read more

UPDATE: I got my van back from the other shop. They replaced all of my heater hoses and that fixed the issue. I got a call from Don the General Manager this morning from Eagle. He was very understanding of why I am so upset, listened to me voice my concerns and never once got defensive or even upset. He took the time to let me vent and then would respond. He was very neutral and didn't always take his employees side. He did REINSTATE MY WARRANTY, preformed another check up on it to make sure that everything is still fine, which it is. He also gave me a refund of 75 dollars. Which I know doesn't really make a difference but it was a nice gesture. I feel like if I had of dealt with him the entire time, things would have been different. 5 stars goes to Don and knowing how to treat customers. read more

Not impressed with this place. They fixed one problem and created 2 problems. I took back my vehicle and they claimed they fixed my problem, not so. Finally, on the third attempt, they fixed the problem that they created. Granted, there were no additional charges, which there shouldnt of been, but come on, three visits? Thats too much. Found via groupon and Had transmission fluid and filter replaced for $40. Guy seemed nice and didn't try to sell me a bunch of other shit. Whole thing done in maybe 50 mins. Call ahead for an appointment though...i came in at 8am and he was already busy. Told me if I came back at 11 30 he'd be able to put me directly into the bay. So i did...and so did he. Only complaint is that I only received basically my check in sheet upon completion ..no mechanic reviews notes comment...I'm a nerd for all that stuff as it helps to show pride of ownership at resale read more

Took my truck to this transmission shop back in May of this year I had a leak in my trans cooler lines got the truck back after paying over 500$ and the very next day the lines they replaced busted leaving me stranded on i30 I had it towed back up there they fixed the cooler lines again and I haven't had any more problems with the lines again so far. Here about a month ago I noticed I had a tranny leak around my pan gasket so I took my truck up there and they said I had a leak in my trans pan gasket and a leak in my main seal and they would have to drop the tranny to do a full external reseal so I said ok go ahead and do it 650$ later I go and pick my truck up... "a month before I brought my truck in to eagle I had brand new wheels and tires put on" before I even walked inside to pay I walked around the truck to inspect the outside and the wheels all was good until I got around to the passenger side front wheel there was a HUGE curb rash on my brand new set of wheels where they test drove my truck after the repair and ran it right up against the curb and immediately I walked inside and asked the manager to step outside and look at them and he said "I'm busy I can't I'll send another guy out to help you." This guy I believe his name was Justin took pictures and acted like he had no clue what happen or who test drove my truck took pictures of the wheel and said he was going to send them to the owner and they would contact me in a few days. I have yet to hear back from anyone and by the way my pan gasket seal that they repaired was leaking the day after they fixed it. So if you work hard for your nice things on your vehicle and like them undamaged don't take it here because they will surely mess them up and not take responsibility and they can't seem to get there repairs right the first go around. read more

This is not your typical shop. They don't try to scam you. Very friendly. Great customer service.

First of all, the "FREE DIAGNOSIS" will cost you $95 unless they do the repairs. Then, after their "diagnosis" they will surely tell you that the transmission needs overhaul. I was quoted $1,755. After I told them to fix it, I was told that there may be some "hard parts" needed but they wouldn't know until they had completely torn it down. I then find out after they disassembled that the bill would be $2,355. I asked what would happen if I said no at this point and was told that they couldn't put it back together without all the extra parts but they could throw the transmission in the back of the truck and I could tow it away after paying them half of their labor charges (several hundred dollars - not $95) for fixing nothing. I agreed to let them fix it and they did come through on time. When it was time to pay I gave them my American Express to pay. Mark told me they didn't accept Amex, however it was posted in 4 different places in their office and also on the front door. When I asked to see a manager, Mark told me he was the manager and it was not his fault that Amex charged such high fees. I am at a loss of words at the poor management of this business and the "care less" attitude by which it is run. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. BEWARE as whatever amount you are quoted will surely go up after your vehicle is torn apart and supposedly cannot be put back together unless you pay the higher amount once you are held hostage. read more

The guys here at Eagle Transmission are awesome. Had trans rebuilt. Came in for the check up with a starting issue and a burning smell. They inspected my trans and found that the neutral safety switch was bad and covered under the warranty they offered. The smell was a grocery bag melted to my exaust! Great guys here would recommend these guys to anyone in my family and or friends. David is very friendly and knowledgeable, kind and understanding gentleman. Great place to go. read more

Yeah, I had an unpleasant experience with Frank too. This was three years ago. I just didn't have a great feeling about letting them do the work but I was in a hurry. Lately my truck has been making a noise. I took it to them and they said it was nothing. The noise continued to get worse so I took it to another mechanic and he said it was definitely the transmission. Took it back to Eagle and they agreed, yes the transmission needs to be rebuilt. They offered to do it for the same price they charged me three years ago. Since it was out of warranty, that is the best they could do. When I told the manager William that I felt like they should be willing to stand behind their work and at least give me a small discount, he became quite rude, explained to me that the shop had been sold last year and that the new owner had new policies. I asked him for the owners number. He offered to give me the previous owners phone number but refused to put me in touch with the current owner. I will NEVER use them again and I strongly DO NOT recommend them. read more
