We showed up on a Saturday at 5 o'clock end of August and got right in at Annex which is the same menu and attached. Waiters were helpful and kind, amazing people! Live music was going on at 7 but we left right before, awesome vibes doors to the outside open so it was basically an open air concept since it was a beautiful day. Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!

I think a trip to the grocery store would have been more filling then getting anything on this menu. Our waitress didn't even tell us her name, she didn't ask how we were. She didn't even smile or give any warmth. Made us feel like she was working in a prison camp. The food was so sub par.. like abysmally bad.. compared to other places?! This is super forgettable! The only thing memorable about it was how horrible our experience was. My wife's margarita was basically all mix. My Maine lunch ipa beer was as expensive as buying a six pack. And oh, you want to spend over $30 on an entree? Prepare to be left with a half empty stomach and then expect to gorge yourself on a load of chips that I guess they try and compensate for their lack of originality and tastefulness. Gosh I'm spending too much time on this review when it deserves no more of my energy. Let alone money. Do yourself a favor and try a different spot. Don't come here. Ps. Gave it 2 instead of 1 star because the atmosphere and location are nice. SKIP!

Inside is a typical modern upscale restaurant with a second floor that overlooks the park and water. We began with a smooth lobster bisque and I had the haddock special. The special was prepared over glaze with sweety drop peppers and was beautifully prepared. Light and flaky, but with a lot of flavor. It's far too easy for these to come out overdone, but this was done wonderfully. I enjoyed my meal here and would definitely recommend if someone was looking for an upscale evening.

When the latter party arrived and asked the Hostess about the earlier seating she couldn't have been more unaccommodating. Likened to an old school marm in a film taking place in the 1800's....a ridiculously stern demeanor and not what a Hostess is meant to do- But Greet. She then had a vendetta, circling the table telling us what to do several times. It was BAFFLING. She next told the proprietor that we took a phone call at the table. The Proprietor comes over to scold us! Still Flabbergasted....we are 2 people sitting across a table. Our conversation stops so that we can answer the phone for a quick question taking less than 2 minutes. It's a full restaurant, a table of 6 next to us, everyone is engaged talking, eating, drinking. No one gave us a look, a nod or a sign that we were interrupting their good time. The food was average, not worth amount charged. The poor waitress was mortified and so apologetic as she witnessed the ordeal.

In fact, after…read moresampling plenty of Maine blueberry items over the course of our vacation, this was by far the best one. I would go here just for the pie alone. The pie earns this place 5 stars by itself. We started with the maple sriracha wings and while a bit pricy...we are in Bar Harbor after all...they were excellent and I'd get them again as a starter. The girlfriend got a painkiller and it was substantially large and very tasty, she was very happy with it. I tried a sip and thought it was good as well. The brown butter lobster roll was good, but I would get the Maine next time--I had gotten Maine style the night before so I had to switch it up. The regular fries are OK but the sweet potato fries are out of this world. The gf again was please with the fish and chips which are gluten-free and really good, she was blown away by the portion size once again. Slaw was on point. The decor was very eclectic and it was funny because they have a painting of a naked woman on the wall and these three young boys eating dinner at the table under it couldn't stop looking at it and giggling, it was hilarious! Moose head on the wall like all proper Maine establishments. Service was by Travis and he did a top-notch job, I'd request a table from him again in the future. And I would come back here the first night I was in town.

We had been on our Maine trip for almost a week and had been waiting for a while lobster. We both ordered the 1.5-2 lb lobsters. You can pick the out of the tank if you would like. We didn't have the heart to pick out dinner and look it in the eyes. I'm husband just chose the lobster plate which comes with a 1.5-2 lbs lobster and corn on the cob. I opted for the meal. Lobster 1.5lb lobster, cup clam chowder, corn on the cob and "famous" Maine Blueberry pie. Lobsters were good. Definitely couldn't had more than one. As always not enough meat if you're only eating lobster. Corn was tasty. I have mine to my husband, he was still hungry. The clam chowder was ok. I feel like it had been sitting in the pot for a day or so. Really thick and kind of concealed. Not the rich-creamy flavor I was hoping for. Kind of bland. Needed to add hot sauce. I tried a couple bites of the Blueberry pie. Very thick pie filling. Sweet and tasty. Felt like the crust was store bought. Not really flaky or buttery. Overall, good lobster. Touristy. I'd pop in again for a quick bite.
