This was my first experience with a lobster roll. Had no flavor despite looking awesome. Came with a group who wasn't super excited about trying seafood like me so we split a whole roll for the table real quick. Server seemed irritated that we weren't ordering more. (We also got an appetizer).

We had great service and a nice view at Stewman's, but the food was expensive and didn't really impress us for the price point. In addition to being expensive, some of the menu descriptions seemed misleading. For example, the Cajun shrimp roll claims to be served with Cajun remoulade but seems to have a spicy mayo sauce. The drinks, however, were very tasty- especially the blueberry mojitos and blueberry lemonade.

Neal was a great waiter! He really took great care of us. We were seated up over the water on a deck, but covered. Pleasant breeze while we ate. Burger and fries were excellent. My wife's Lobster Roll was good, though she hadn't expected it served chilled. We didn't know. She was disappointed at the time, but has since learned that's how it's done up here. Mom's salad and Dad's fried seafood platter (name escapes us now) were also good. Bar Harbor's restaurants have tended to be snug, but we were pleased with the space this place offered.

This was unfortunately very average. I got a shrimp roll with sweet potato fries. Maybe the lobster roll would have been the better choice but I just wanted to switch it up a little and try something other than a lobster roll in Maine. They kind of skimped on the shrimp and it was so bland even with the sauce and coleslaw. The fries were pretty bland as well. It's a good location but there are better restaurants around the area for sure.

Good place, I like that is very big, lots of sit down areas and everything was on a good time, our server was helpful and fast, our food was very good, we love the lobster dip so much, the sides options for the plates here were free and they have a few options which we like so much, their lobster was also very good.

Did stop for some lobster here. Very cool place. Right on the water. Perhaps bit touristy but who cares. Busy restaurant offering lobster. Loved it

What I liked about Stewman's was that there's something for everyone, not exclusively lobster, and the location on the water. Everyone working was nice and our server was attentive. Otherwise, I had an average food experience. I got the shrimp roll with sweet potato fries and it was underwhelming. The shrimp is fried and put into the roll, the sauce and coleslaw are on the side so you can put them in. What I had was fine and, I hate to say it, reminiscent of Cane's.

Everything here was delicious. Our server, Calvin, helped steer us in the right direction on the menu options. The blueberry mojitos were flavorful and so good. The steak salad might have even been better than the seafood tower, which is tough to do. I'm going to attempt the recipe at home back on the west coast because I don't know how I can live my life without ever eating that salad again. So good! We sat inside and were able to witness such a gorgeous thunder storm while we ate. 10/10!

There was a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. It's on the water with a nice view. It did take us a while to get our drinks. Our server, Marlon was nice but I don't think he was able to keep up because he kept saying let him take care of this table and he would be back but I went to the car to get a sweatshirt and came back and he still hadn't come back by. We wound up just getting the $20 seafood dip and 2 drinks and left. Nothing on the menu was screaming to us and things were taking too long to come out. The seafood dip was pretty small for the price but it was good. The drinks were ok

Fish and chips basket

Solid place for fried seafood baskets and dockside outdoor seating - it was a sunny summer day and sitting by the water was lovely. I had the fish and chips which were good - the fried beer-batter wasn't overwhelming and the fish wasn't dried out. It came with a side of coleslaw and fries. My husband had the pier house catch basket which had a variety of seafood (haddock, shrimp, clams, and scallops), fries, and cole slaw. His favorites of the seafood basket were the shrimp and scallops. A filling meal overall, but a bit on the pricier side as other reviews have mentioned.

Ate at Stewman's Lobster Pound while visiting Bar Harbor this evening. The seating area and view over the ocean is the best part about the experience. You sit on a dock right over the harbor. The food was okay, not the best I've ever had but not the worst. I had the fish and chips and my wife, who isn't a seafood person had a chicken sandwich. The chicken was very dry. My fish was just two small pieces, I was still hungry after eating. Overall experience was average. Price for three people was about $100.

Seafood platter

I wanted a giant platter of fried seafood and Stewman's delivered! We had a long day driving Acadia and wanted something nearby and stopped at Stewman's. They have full outdoor seating as well as a covered patio which was lovely! We tried the pomegranate margaritas which were delish and fairly strong. I ordered the pier house catch platter which had haddock, scallops, shrimp, and clams plus fries! Everything came out hot and very crispy. Loved everything with the exception of the clams - I love shellfish but clams are a little too stringy for me. The fish was soft and flaky and the shrimp and scallops were great too!

We didn't have a bad bite... is a gross understatement. Just amazing food and unique flavor…read moreprofiles for the usual BH spots. Off the beaten tourist path and open year round, PP lives up to the reviews and hype. We made a mistake our first night in Bar Harbor going to a tourist trap and getting a rubbery lobster roll and sad chowder. I did a bit of research online and found Peekytoe and was SO glad for it. While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. GO if you are a foodie and don't want a lame wannabe roll with some kids grilled cheese sides, DO this spot. SO well worth it. PS to manament - I know you do a brunch. MAKE SURE YOU DO A CRABCAKE BENEDICT. Your crab cakes are divine and with a slight seared crunch. Ideal. You can even do a lemon-fiddlehead or blistered tomato HOLLANDAISE. I'd be IN IN as I am sure most people would. The vinegary elements from the fiddleheads to (I think) my husband's pickled onion atop his crabby patty MADE the CRABCAKES THE STAR.

I came here for the Crab Roll, which I had the first time I was here. Dare I say, it's better than a lobster roll? Packed full of crab meat, and no extra flavorings needed (though it does have some bay seasoning)! Worth coming back for this. The Smoked Fish Chowder (Bowl) had a lot of fish, with a hint of smokiness and a kick. Definitely hearty with the other ingredients (celery, potato, onion) and warms you up! The Baked Polenta Fries had a decent crisp. Frying would definitely give it a much better texture. I loved the dipping sauce, which definitely helped the dish. The Kelp Salad (Half) was too salty and I'm not a fan of the texture, so not a dish for me. It is a decently sized portion for a half. The Natalie's Lemonade was a good typical lemonade. Overall, a good spot to hit for the the crab roll!
