Had a great dinner at Stewman's Lobster Pound! My group of three was seated promptly and staff were very nice! For a drink, I tried their tangerine limeade which was tart yet refreshing. For food, we tried a pound of steamers and mussels, which were very good and tasted fresh. For mains, I split the lobster roll and crab roll/sandwich. The lobster roll had a good amount of meat and I enjoyed the option of sweet potato fries. The crab sandwich was has a creamy mayo texture which paired great with the sweet, tender crab. 1¼ lb Twin Lobsters: This was everything I was hoping for in a classic Maine lobster meal. The lobsters were incredibly fresh, with soft, buttery meat that practically melted in every bite. Paired with sweet corn on the cob, it was the perfect combination. Sitting outside overlooking the ocean beside the Harborside Marina made the experience even better--the coastal views, salty breeze, and fresh seafood created the quintessential Bar Harbor dining experience. Coastal Dip (not pictured): A warm, creamy seafood dip loaded with lobster, shrimp, and other seafood, served with crispy tortilla chips. It's rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing before your main course. Oysters: These were a bit disappointing. About half tasted fresh and briny, while the others didn't seem as fresh, making for a mixed experience overall. Looking back, I probably would've skipped the oysters and ordered another lobster dish or their famous lobster roll instead. Blueberry Pie: For $14, this wasn't my favorite. The blueberry filling was a little too sweet for my taste. The buttery crust paired nicely with the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I don't think it justified the price. I'd save room for something else next time. Cocktails: They have several refreshing cocktail options, but my favorite was definitely the Country Thyme Lemonade. It had a sweet, refreshing lemonade flavor with tequila and other ingredients blended together, and it was served in a beautiful glass that made it feel extra special. The Blueberry Smash wasn't for me--it had an herbal flavor that reminded me a bit of a cleaning product, so I preferred the lemonade by far. Overall, if you're looking for fresh Maine lobster with beautiful waterfront views in Bar Harbor, this is a great place to stop. The lobster is the star of the meal, so I'd stick with the classics and enjoy the scenery. In terms of service, our server was very nice and helpful. I'd be careful though because they aren't organized about their servers - they have one named Mario who came up to our table and started flirting w the girl and it was unacceptable while the family was in the bathroom so I'd say watch out for that. read more

This was my favorite meal of our trip to Maine. The lobster meat was not overcooked and tender. The fried fish was also perfectly cooked as well as all of the other dishes. I will say the lobster nachos were a bit strange and not what I expected, but everything else was a slam dunk. read more

Nice ambience in the restaurant, I had the shrimp roll and I initially thought that it was steamed shrimp with like in a sauce (like shrimp salad kind of thing), but it ended up being fried shrimp and I typically don't like fried seafood, but it was absolutely delicious. I came in around 7:45 pm as a solo traveler. I was looking for someplace to eat near the water. There were several 4 person tables open (5 that I could see). I was told as I was one person they had to save those for parties of more than 1. There was no line and no one waiting. Normally that would be fine, but they wanted to sest me next to a large party at a tiny table about 5 inches away from the large group. When I asked again if there were any possibility of sitting at the other tables I was told no. First time this trip I've been made to feel less than as a first time solo traveler. Neal was a great waiter! He really took great care of us. We were seated up over the water on a deck, but covered. Pleasant breeze while we ate. Burger and fries were excellent. My wife's Lobster Roll was good, though she hadn't expected it served chilled. We didn't know. She was disappointed at the time, but has since learned that's how it's done up here. What I liked about Stewman's was that there's something for everyone, not exclusively lobster, and the location on the water. Everyone working was nice and our server was attentive. Otherwise, I had an average food experience. I got the shrimp roll with sweet potato fries and it was underwhelming. Our server, Marlon was nice but I don't think he was able to keep up because he kept saying let him take care of this table and he would be back but I went to the car to get a sweatshirt and came back and he still hadn't come back by. Our waiter Kevin was very helpful in describing the sizing and portions for the dishes we were interested in. The staff was friendly and since we were in sun all day we're didn't want to sit outside but they told us the deck was covered and had a nice cross breeze which it did. There are so many seafood joints in Bar Harbor, so it was hard to pick which one to go to. We ended up choosing this place because of its large outdoor deck which was right on the water. We started our meal with the Coastal Seafood Dip. It was good, but a little dry and the ratio of dip to chips was off. A couple of us followed that with the lobster bisque, which was delicious. We only ordered three entrees for the four of us, because we had seen how big the portions were on the tables of other customers.
