1¼ lb Twin Lobsters: This was everything I was hoping for in a classic Maine lobster meal. The lobsters were incredibly fresh, with soft, buttery meat that practically melted in every bite. Paired with sweet corn on the cob, it was the perfect combination. Sitting outside overlooking the ocean beside the Harborside Marina made the experience even better--the coastal views, salty breeze, and fresh seafood created the quintessential Bar Harbor dining experience. Coastal Dip (not pictured): A warm, creamy seafood dip loaded with lobster, shrimp, and other seafood, served with crispy tortilla chips. It's rich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing before your main course. Oysters: These were a bit disappointing. About half tasted fresh and briny, while the others didn't seem as fresh, making for a mixed experience overall. Looking back, I probably would've skipped the oysters and ordered another lobster dish or their famous lobster roll instead. Blueberry Pie: For $14, this wasn't my favorite. The blueberry filling was a little too sweet for my taste. The buttery crust paired nicely with the scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I don't think it justified the price. I'd save room for something else next time. Cocktails: They have several refreshing cocktail options, but my favorite was definitely the Country Thyme Lemonade. It had a sweet, refreshing lemonade flavor with tequila and other ingredients blended together, and it was served in a beautiful glass that made it feel extra special. The Blueberry Smash wasn't for me--it had an herbal flavor that reminded me a bit of a cleaning product, so I preferred the lemonade by far. Overall, if you're looking for fresh Maine lobster with beautiful waterfront views in Bar Harbor, this is a great place to stop. The lobster is the star of the meal, so I'd stick with the classics and enjoy the scenery. In terms of service, our server was very nice and helpful. The service was quite nice however severely overpriced and honestly just not flavorful. The lobster was fresh but was just lacking in all aspects and for 42$ I expected more. Additionally my friend got some shrimp cocktail for 22$ and there was literally 5 shrimp. Severely disappointing. You are pretty much paying for the view. read more

This place is still open downtown, I'm not sure why it says it's closed. I'm assuming it's because of the reviews they'd get. This was unfortunately very average. I got a shrimp roll with sweet potato fries. Maybe the lobster roll would have been the better choice but I just wanted to switch it up a little and try something other than a lobster roll in Maine. They kind of skimped on the shrimp and it was so bland even with the sauce and coleslaw. The fries were pretty bland as well. What I liked about Stewman's was that there's something for everyone, not exclusively lobster, and the location on the water. Everyone working was nice and our server was attentive. Otherwise, I had an average food experience. I got the shrimp roll with sweet potato fries and it was underwhelming. The shrimp is fried and put into the roll, the sauce and coleslaw are on the side so you can put them in. What I had was fine and, I hate to say it, reminiscent of Cane's. read more

Oh my word. What is going on in this joint? We ate dinner on a Monday at 530pm. Hardly anyone around. Tons of staff in red shirts. Zero service. I mean zero. After being seated we waited and waited. No one came by. Finally a guy says someone will be by soon to take our drinks. Nope. Didn't happen. I stopped him later and said no one came by. So he took our drink order. Another several minutes pass and we get our one beer. Another several minutes go by and we put in our order with a different server who looked like he would rather throw straws in the ocean than serve people food. The food arrives. Welp. Completely underwhelming. The lobster is more fresh in Gloucester, ma. The mussels were sad and sparse. The chowder was good. And the harvest salad was good (except for the dressing). I noticed another family got ice cream with their blueberry pie. This wasn't offered or shared with us as an option. Very peculiar. Servers were friendly with some tables and not others. Whoever manages this place needs to invest in some staff training and staff supports. These folks look unhappy to be working. And the food is not a draw. Our waiter Kevin was very helpful in describing the sizing and portions for the dishes we were interested in. The dishes we ordered were: -Basket of Rolls- not the most amazing rolls I've ever had but they were fine -Jonah Crab & Lobster Cake- INCREDIBLE!!! Did a tour bus which was by their restaurant and decided to go in and try it out. The staff was friendly and since we were in sun all day we're didn't want to sit outside but they told us the deck was covered and had a nice cross breeze which it did. I wanted lobster again but wanted other seafood so I ordered the Pier House Catch - "The Boat Docks Here". It had fish, clams, shrimp and scallops. It was deep fried but it was good. There are so many seafood joints in Bar Harbor, so it was hard to pick which one to go to. We ended up choosing this place because of its large outdoor deck which was right on the water. We started our meal with the Coastal Seafood Dip. It was good, but a little dry and the ratio of dip to chips was off. A couple of us followed that with the lobster bisque, which was delicious. We only ordered three entrees for the four of us, because we had seen how big the portions were on the tables of other customers. Cool spot on the waterfront in Bar Harbor... I honestly thought there would be more lobster options though and more steam pots. We ordered some raw local oysters which were fantastic and then went with the steamed sampler which includes a cup of chowder, a whole lobster, potatoes, corn, and mussels. The finishing touch is a big slice of blueberry pie with ice cream which is the perfect end to the meal. The outdoor seating area was great and you can actually see the water through the cracks in the decking (just don't drop your phone, keys, or wallet or it will be a bad day). Worst seafood place I've eaten at that is in a harbor. First, we (family of 4) sat outside on a picnic table large enough for 4 kindergarteners. You can get just as good of seafood at Long Jong Silvers or Red Lobster. I've had a better shrimp roll at the Mini Mart in Leesburg, IN. I will say they do pour a good drink.
