Good atmosphere and good service. Nice spot for lunch if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor with good parking options and a decent view of the harbor. The lobster bisque was ok more ocean tasting than others but if you like that then I'm sure it's excellent. Had some chunks of meat which is great. The crab dip was really delish. Salads were ok. There was a small arts market set up outside and we checked that out afterwards.

Beautiful views of the water from this restaurant with floor to ceiling windows. We sat near the back wall and still had lovely views. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive but never made us feel rushed. Staff team worked together well in delivering food and clearing dishes. I chose the beet salad with a crab cake as my entree. It was very good. Usually I ask for dressing on the side and forgot this time but the lettuce was not soaked in dressing. It was very well done. Husband had the special of fettuccine Alfredo and crispy chicken which he said was very good. Prices were reasonable. Parking easy. It's part of a hotel but we were welcomed as a not hotel guest. Great stop.

How cute could this place be? A great view and fabulous service and food. The crab cakes were the best we have had on our new england vacation so far. The lobster dip was very creamy and delicious. I also loved the mushroom ravioli with Brussel Sprouts! Tiramisu with bourbon topped off a fabulous meal! Would definitely return!

Great spot just outside of central Bar Harbor with delicious food, amazing views and excellent service. When we arrived we were the only people seated outside for a while and service was still quite attentive. I appreciated that there were gluten free options marked on the menu. We started with the lobster dip and it was so good that it was gone before I could snap a photo. The corn chips were warmed, which was a nice touch. I had the maple bourbon glazed salmon. I don't normally like sweet glazed but this one was great. The bourbon nicely balanced the flavor from the maple. My husband had the mushroom ravioli and said it was fantastic. The portions were pretty generously sized so we had no room for desert. I highly recommend getting out of downtown to check out this restaurant!

Call me grandma, but the best meals I had in Bar Harbor were right inside my peacefully sleepy hotel! The first night here, I made a reservation because I was too exhausted to venture downtown. I am so glad that I did because the food was delicious and I ended up coming back on my last night. Now- it is a small room tucked inside of the lobby. So make a reservation with the front desk. There are only 8 indoor tables plus the bar so it'll fill up. Since I dined here twice, I was lucky to sample several offerings. In a stereotypical tourist move, I went with a lobster roll. For $33, expectations were high. It exceeded my expectations and it exceeded the roll in was served in. The lobster was literally pouring out of the roll. It was fresh and delicious tossed in a light coating of mayo. It was in good company with a big bed of shoestring fries and coleslaw. Another winning item was the clam chowder. Stick with a cup serving because it's rich and heavy and has the potential to derail your meal if you go in to aggressively lol. Seriously though, it was excellent and full of clams and not filler. There was good amount of potato on there too but the clams were the star. My favorite dish of all was actually the crab cakes. Do not allow yourself to be sidetracked too heavily by the lobster offerings when you can indulge in the most heavenly crab cakes drizzled lightly with aioli. Even if you aren't a guest of the hotel, it could defined be worth your while to make reservations and dine in. The atmosphere is completely different from the downtown eateries. It's a quiet greenhouse type room overlooking the water. It's calm and quiet. It's not a turn up establishment lol. It was perfect for the relaxing mood that I was looking for. The servers were very kind and efficient and the prices were on point if not slightly higher than the other downtown options. It'll be my first choice when back in Bar Harbor.

Great food in a beautiful setting ! During my stay at the Atlantic Oceanside I ended up dining here twice and both times I was happy with the food and service. Pretty much tried all the appetizers and salads on their menu. Everything was delicious and fresh. Especially liked the crab cakes and Caesar salad as well as the house salad. At $11 the salads are reasonably priced and the quantity was decent. I also liked Mussels but wasn't a big fan of haddock bites (it's only my personal choice because my partner thought they were great). They have an extensive wine and beer menu along with a full bar. Do ask for their cocktail specials. Although I didn't try their pomegranate martini it sure did look like a popular choice among the guests. I liked the blueberry wine though. Also loved blueberry pie with ice cream (it goes beautifully with blueberry wine). It was a perfect way to finish our delicious meals. Left the restaurant satiated and happy :)

Tidbit! The Anchorage Motel manager warned us with a whisper: "It's where all the tourists go. But…read moreit's good. It's really good." She wasn't lying. It was worth the 45-minute wait. Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder. Even the blueberry beer came through; we got Orono's Wicked Maine Blueberry Ale, packed with actual blueberries floating up and down. Yes, we paid tourist prices, but we got generous, delicious portions and full bellies.

What an amazing dinner for our first night in Bar Harbor…read more Galyn's offers a charming, intimate ambiance that feels like an upscale yet casual classic steakhouse, complete with beautiful dark wood paneling, local art, and a stunning table view overlooking the green and the water. We loved that they were open late, because we arrived in town a bit on the later side. They have impeccable, professional service--from the fresh-cracked black pepper to the delicious mocktails, bread & butter, shrimp cocktail, fresh lobster roll, and shared Burrata Caprese (perfect since my daughter wasn't too hungry). We topped it all off with a phenomenal Maine Blueberry-Apple Crisp. Between the good pricing, excellent food, and a view that alone was worth the visit, it was a wonderful, memorable meal.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.

My only request would be some overhead lighting in the place, needed a flashlight to see the food, but it was all presented so nicely, nothing to hide! I got the tenderloin. If you like lobster and steak, (which I do) the flavors were on point. I ordered medium rare and it was textbook. This has made the top 5 restaurant steaks on my list, and I've cooked, interviewed, and let's just say... been around. The chef should be quite satisfied The wine as we were told goes in order of dry to less. The Pinot noir from Oregon was absolutely perfect to pair. Best place in Bar Harbor so far (: Definitely save this one for last!

Miss Elizabeth B (6/25 Review),…read more I appreciate the time you took to go scorched earth on your recent review of Table Salt in Bar Harbor, ME. It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!
