The completely empty patio, as viewed from our table at Stewman's.
    Mary Louise R.

We were hoping to have some drinks and blueberry pie out on the deck. When we approached the host stand, the hostess couldn't be bothered to look up from her phone. Once she was finished texting, she advised that we couldn't sit on the patio unless we were having dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was mid afternoon, and the patio was completely empty, but alas...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ended up next door at Stewman's lobster pound, which was a much better experience.

Awesome lobster bisque, and following TJ's recommendation, baked haddock. Lovely! [[HIGHLIGHT]]A nice waterfront view and convenient parking compliment the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The seafood grill consists of half a lobster, 4 scallops, 4 shrimp, corn, and potatoes.

Our first impression was sketchy. After being seated and meeting Moose, our server, everything changed! He was awesome! My sister and I ordered the seafood grill and it was the best food we had on our entire 7 day stay in Maine. The scallops and shrimp were perfect and the lobster divine. The bar poured a great drink too! Highly recommend eating here!

Fantastic spot for Lobster. So delicious and service was great. My wife had the lobster roll and instead of mayo she had it with butter much better than the mayo. I had the live main lobster with new potatoes and corn. Very delicious cooked perfect and so fresh.

3.5/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has very little seating and seems like a whole in the wall[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the food turned out pretty good. The service was slow but overall pretty good.

Not bad. Pretty basic place. Lobster options were okay, if small portions. But I guess that keeps the prices lower. Potatoes were good, soft & buttery. Blueberry pie was pretty tasty.

One of our bartenders suggested this place when we said we wanted something with ocean views. We were sat outside pretty quickly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Views were great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was overall quick and good. The calamari was amazing! My husband loved his crab cakes and my lobster roll was good as well. Would definitely recommend this spot!

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26

Miss Elizabeth B (6/25 Review),…read more I appreciate the time you took to go scorched earth on your recent review of Table Salt in Bar Harbor, ME. It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!

The Frutti di Mare was packed with seafood, and the red miso in the sauce added an amazing depth of flavor that made the dish really unique. Using lightly fried calamari instead of the usual preparation was a fantastic touch and added great texture. If you love seafood and pasta, this is an easy recommendation. My wife ordered the filet, which was cooked perfectly, but the lobster butter absolutely took it over the top. The service was attentive from start to finish without ever feeling overbearing, making the entire evening feel special. We'll definitely be back.

What an amazing dinner for our first night in Bar Harbor…read more Galyn's offers a charming, intimate ambiance that feels like an upscale yet casual classic steakhouse, complete with beautiful dark wood paneling, local art, and a stunning table view overlooking the green and the water. We loved that they were open late, because we arrived in town a bit on the later side. They have impeccable, professional service--from the fresh-cracked black pepper to the delicious mocktails, bread & butter, shrimp cocktail, fresh lobster roll, and shared Burrata Caprese (perfect since my daughter wasn't too hungry). We topped it all off with a phenomenal Maine Blueberry-Apple Crisp. Between the good pricing, excellent food, and a view that alone was worth the visit, it was a wonderful, memorable meal.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked. And then the seafood pie: crispy, flaky, golden on top in a way that looks borderline burnt but is actually just butter and scallops doing what butter and scallops do. This dish was basically chowder, piled high with fish... And some more fish, with a dash of chowder.
