Their spicy chicken strips are the besssst and are super close to something like daves hot chicken. The staff are always amazing and super helpful. I wish Yelp allowed half stars because I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. We went on a Sunday so it was pretty busy but we were able to order and get our food in a timely manner. We ordered 2 Teri burgers except my husband added an extra patty & bacon to his. We also added 1 order of fries, 1 drink and a side of "spicy" pickles which came out to $41. I thought that was a little pricey since we shared fries and a drink. The burger quality was good but they forgot the bacon in my husband's. He had already taken a couple bites before he realized so they ended up giving it to us on the side. I also asked for 2 sides of ketchup when they gave me my order. And after reading the other reviews saying that they charge for it I now know why she gave me a weird look & only gave me 1 when I asked. I'm not sure what kind of ketchup they use but it had a hint of pineapple which was okay but unexpected. I do think that they should list it on their menu though so that customers know it needs to be ordered & paid for. The "spicy" pickles were not spicy at all. If anything, they tasted really sweet so I would skip it if spicy is what you're expecting. Food was so good decided to come back again. However, there was a different working staff. We noticed that all the people handling the food wore gloves except the girl packing the food. We watched her play with her hair scratch her face and then grab the open burger to pack. She grads the waffle fries also with no gloves packs it in the bag then wipes her hand on her shirt and then back to playing with her hair. Stopped in for lunch in the middle of day on a Tuesday, it was a lot busier than I would've imagined a mall spot would be. I ordered the classic cheesesteak sub and and Jay ordered the Cubano Italian, we turned it into a combo with chips and a drink, came out to almost $45, it seems like a lot but I have to always remind myself about inflation. We both loved the sandwiches we ordered, the cheesesteak came out hot a steamy with gooey cheese, yessah! In full disclosure I have been to the two other locations and I'm always impressed with their food and services. Since there is a new location on the west side, I had to try it. I got the Earl Single with waffles fries. The other locations have lemonade but this one it will be coming soon. First the parking is the mall parking lot so we all know how that goes. They are super friendly when you walk in. Food to order takes time. So if you are in a hurry, order online before you get there. The food breakdown, the Earl single is amazing. It is a plus when you can eat a burger that has season and the toppings are fresh. The ketchup even had a unique flavor to it. The fries were crunchy and soft at the same time. I've had high hopes for this place. I've heard so many great things about EARL so I was excited to try it for the first time. Let me tell you when I say the portions are SMALL and OVERPRICED. I ordered the Rueben with sauerkraut and their bacon cheese fries and drink. I could not believe this costed me $30!!! I was stunned but thought maybe the flavors would make up for it. Pricing aside, it tasted pretty basic. I would understand the pricing if the flavors were super tasty, but I was pretty disappointed and unfortunately feel like it's all hype. Went to Earl today the food was delicious. We got a po boy chicken and a cheesesteak my son love the Poboy. He said it was delicious and close to a poor boy from Louisiana. The cheesesteak was 6/10. A bit too salty, and the meat was too mushy for a cheesesteak. it wasn't bad it just needed a little more fine tuning. I will go back again and try other items from the menu. Here's my honest reviews: Food: At times, the sandwich had some salty bites but was tolerable. The cheesesteak was a little more oily than the way I prefer my sandwiches but not too overwhelming where it makes you feel sick. Both the oils and salt were near borderline where I'd actually ask them to remake it. Maybe my expectations were too high, I was hoping to be astonished from the sandwich leaving me with the feeling to eat there all the time. Dessert: I can't complain one thing about their gelati and custard dessert. It's a must try. Service: I wish the service embodied the story of Earl, especially being a family business. I wasn't sure to get at first and had many questions but wasn't greeted or recommended anything. OK, let me begin by saying that I've been a loyal Earl customer since they opened in Kaimuki. Their food is always very consistent and very delicious. I am dinging the restaurant two stars due to the fact that they charge for ketchup when you order a sandwich. My order today consisted of the chopped cheese sandwich and a fountain drink and my total bill came to $25 after tip. I don't have a problem paying that amount for a good sandwich/ meal. Here is what happened: My. and was called and I picked up my sandwich. At that time I asked for a side of ketchup and was told that since I didn't order order fries they would charge me for my ketchup. I said wow ok. The employee told me that i had to go to the cashier to pay for it. I went to the cashier to pay for the ketchup, which is $.50 each small container. I told the cashier that I thought it was kind of silly to charge for ketchup.. She informed me that the restaurant loses $10,000 a year give away ketchup. At this point the other employee walked on over told me it homemade so they had to sell ii. I told them the cost of ketchup should be the cost of doing business. Never in my life have I been charged for ketchup except in England. I feel that this practice is just nickel and diming customers. Btw- They is no signage that they charge for ketchup. The restaurant should have also been dinged another point for playing music over a faulty sound system. Second time it's happened at this location. Funny thing is the employees don't try and fix the issue, they just listen to the skipping music. Annoying for sure. At this point, I am not sure if I will be returning. read more

Staff is friendly.. once we walked in we were greeted and a staff member asked which table we would like, we pointed to one, they wiped the table down for us and showed us how to use the ordering tablet by the front windows... easy and non stressful way to order your food.. food came out fast and the owner was in the mix with his staff leading by example, not just barking orders. Only issue is, I am getting older and try to cram in a salad, or at least a soup with lunch. Not their issue, it's mine. Second time was at Kakaako it was ok it had the Philly and cubano not the great and just seems not fresh bread or something. Kapolei location and miss again sorry to say. Got the Earl's Cheesesteak & Waffle Fries; cheesesteak was seasoned well & delicious, waffle fries were light & crisp. I came here with my family on a Sunday 7/6 afternoon. When we visited the week before, there was a promotion for $1 Italian Ice for their 1-year anniversary. They ran out of the $1 Italian Ice when we arrived but gave away free scratch cards for free food/desert which I thought was fair enough. We decided to come back and give this place a try and redeem our scratch cards. When we got there to place our order there was a young girl with curly blonde hair working the register & taking orders. She had absolutely NO PERSONALITY! She looked as if she did not want to be there at all. We asked about redeeming the free scratch cards which she seemed clueless & irritated about. She asked another worker about the scratch cards and told us we can only use 1 per order (which the scratch card did not state). The food we ordered was great. Some items on the menu are a bit pricey, but other than that it was good. I ordered a mushroom burger, and mango Italian ice which I thought was pretty good. Aside from the food, I would say this place could improve on their customer service. Maybe retrain their cashier or have someone at the register with better personality. read more

Heard good things about this place so I was looking forward to it, I won't lie the food is good but everything else no. Our food took a good minute to come out which is no problem but for one all I saw were the staff non stop talking and two groups after us got their food first when all we ordered were two burgers and waffle fries, and to make matters worse the food wasn't even hot. I also got a drink there and the first time I filled it I saw black stuff floating in it so I dumped it out and refilled it and again there was something in the ice. We shared an order of bacon fries. The food was delicious. My burger was very juicy and flavorful. The burger had mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, cheese & thinly sliced onions in a sweet bread bun. My friend really liked her sandwich. It was very meaty and flavorful. She could only eat half. Our bacon fries was waffle style with ranch sauce, cheese & real bacon. We are definitely coming back.
