Despite not having a sandwich I had plenty of the other items I didn't get before at their 1st anniversary celebration. Now obviously for those who know what it was ($1 lemonade and gelati with a purchase) this is purely on the crews service and obviously taste. For what seemed like an endless line the guys went through them like butter and I got to the front quicker than I thought. I got a regular waffle fries (earl fries and bacon ones are amazing too but wasn't craving whiz) a new bag of utz chips (bbq) a mango gelati (I normally go for cherry flavors but it was highly recommended so why not) and a lemonade. Gelatis are exclusive to kapolei and I think kaimuki so they had a fair bit of hype in my mind and boy did it deliver. The gelati was clean and still super flavorful with the frozen custard being a nice touch as well thick and soft but not stereotypical soft serve like. I was pleasantly impressed by the fact that it was hotter than a hot box that day and despite this it didn't melt one bit despite the heat in there and outside on the bench. The fries were super meaty and crisp at the same time with a nicely portioned bit of ketchup but could easily eat it without it given the seasoning and flavor. And of course you can't forget the utz. I know it gets a bit of polarized look but trust me every flavor is worth it. While I normally get the crab, chili, or salt n vinegar the bbq is super flavorful not over salted and really well done. Takes me back to life in the woods and the pleasant feeling I had enjoying a nice meal. Lemonade as usual hits like a champ. Love this place and can't wait for many years more! read more

I know what you're thinking "subs, burgers & sandwiches? Pfft I can do that myself". Hate to break it to you -- but you can't. Food from EARL is the MF GOAT! First time trying the Kapolei location -- we were lured by the $1 Gelati Anniversary sale. It was packed but the entire process of waiting in line, ordering our food & receiving our order took less than 30 minutes. I enjoyed reading about the shop's history along the walls while waiting. They have an assortment of chips and merchandise available on a wire rack to purchase in front of the register. I got the Caprese Sub, Hubby got an Earl Burger with all the add ons. We opted to enjoy our food at home. The Caprese doesn't come with any meat, but there was so much flavor and such a good portion of filling that I barely noticed. The fresh mozzarella is so soft and perfectly salted, I practically inhaled my sub. Hubby's burger was equally delicious! Not overly greasy, it left him feeling full without feeling heavy. The real stand out was their gelati. My advice is to try it sooner rather than later. It's a "sweet but not too sweet" dessert. What WOW'd me was their custard being made with real ingredients - none of that nonsense stuff from a box. We bought the mango flavor and I will now have a hyper fixation with gelatis for the rest of summer. It's a perfect treat to cool down in the heat. Went for the first time to the Kapolei location today 3/14/26. While I am happy that the food is made-to -order fresh (I could hear the crankling of utensils) hubby could not finish his Earl's Cheesesteak. Not because he wasn't hungry, cause he was, but because it was way too salty!! He asked me if I wanted to try it so I picked the meat that fell out of the bread. And yes, it was too salty!! The ambiance is clean, the person taking my order was nice and did her upsale of the Waffle Fries - that was salty too. We did not finish it. Unfortunately, my husband said, and I was shocked, the only thing that was good here was their soda, it had a fizz and not a flat soda. They were quite busy but they were surprisingly efficient and our food came out pretty quickly. We couldn't decide what we wanted so we shared the burger, bacon fries, firebird, and box of chicken. You can tell they use quality ingredients, everything was great. What stood out the most was the amazing customer service. We had a little issue with our food, and they went above and beyond to make it right. Finally got a chance to eat at EARL Kapolei! My wife has been here a few times and loved it. It lived up to her hype. I got the burger with pastrami on it (that might be the first time I have had that combination). It was great. The burger was cooked and the pastrami was excellent. The sesame seed bun really made it that extra that brought it to the next level. The service was good. It's an order at the counter and they call out your name, so not a lot of interaction. And if that is too much interaction, they have tablets at the back of the store to order. It was a typical fast food place at the mall, nothing too fancy. My burger wasn't as juicy as the last time and not sure if the bun was toasted too much or not as fresh, but it seemed more crumbly and dry. Still enjoyed it though! Staff is always friendly. The restaurant is clean and the staff were very nice. The food has potential to be great. The bread is amazing! We purchased a hot honey chicken sandwhich and it came on a bun that was like sweet bread. The chicken was very light and crispy! Definitely Good. But the cheesesteak bread is the star of the show!! Crispy baguette style roll was delicious even with no meat. However there is a generous amount of meat on the sandwich and cheese, the menu says there is chipotle sauce on it but I didn't taste or see it, I felt like some sauce would have given the edge it needed. It was good don't get me wrong, but it didn't look even close to the commercial I saw. So was a little boooo about it, but it was good. The fries on the other hand were served cold, cardboard style. I saw them under the lamp thing when we came in and it was a while before we were served. Super unimpressed by that. I took them back and asked for fresh ones, they made them for me no problem. Over all I will definitely come back because the cheesesteak sandwich is a winner. But my excitement was diminished a smidge. Will try the one in Kaka'ako and see how that turns out. Yesterday, my fiancé was craving for a juicy burger, so today we went to Ka Makana Ali'i shopping center headed to five guys. We walked in and told the Cashier that we were newbies here and she basically went through what they offered were Sub sandwiches, Burgers and we stopped her there. I asked what their patties were like because my fiancé wants a juicy burger. The Cashier says "Well, you've come to the right place!", We have smashed burgers. I said great, I'll get a double Mushroom Burger with added Avocado and Bacon Waffle Fries and a Double Teri Burger with Cherry Jalapeños. While we waited, we made our drinks. They offered Pepsi products with Orange Bang, Regular Lemonade, Strawberry lemonade, and there's one more, but I can't remember it. Anyway, it took about 10 mins for our food to arrive and it was brought by someone. I was surprised at how intimidating the burger was. We took the first bite and it was delicious. It hit the spot. We literally ate the whole burger, but didn't finish the Waffle fries. There were a few booths and regular tables, they have tablets by the window; I should've walked to look, but I was occupied with the baby, on one of the walls there is a nice poster boards of the owners history, and they were playing Snoop Dog, "Drop it like it's hot". Basically Good non-explicit rap music. Haha! Btw, in total with 2 refillable medium drinks, I paid $56 and some change with a $5 tip. It is pricey, but we enjoyed it and we were content. In my opinion, they should have wet naps. It can be juicy enough to where your hands are taken over by the sauce and because it's finger foods. They didn't have baby chairs or boosters. We had a year and a half old baby with us. Their condiments should be by the soda machine; when there's a line, the tables in the way and you'll end up walking or bumping into people to get the condiments. I know there's a better set up to the place, but I don't think there's enough traffic for them to care at the moment; although there are a lot of people who does online ordering cause we've seen people just come in and out of the place.
