Not only do they have someone at the door offering free samples to lure in people, but they will also let you try any kind of chocolate. I was in heaven! We took home an assortment of chocolate pieces plus these marshmallow type chocolates that came in dark, milk, coconut and even strawberry flavor! It is a great place to grab a gift for someone - they had lots of gift box ideas! I will be keeping them in mind if I ever need anything. You can even get little individual packaged chocolates as well - kind of like how Ghirardelli does it, only better! Everyone working at Laderach was super nice and knowledgeable! One of the employees told me that the chocolate is flown in fresh from Switzerland every week and it really shows! I buy the ingredients here. It's the closest Indian grocery to my house. The shop is clean. Staffed by friendly if painfully shy employees. The selection of goods is not overwhelming like in the giant Indian supermarkets of Berkeley or Los Angeles. I can always find what I need here at Bharat. The fresh produce section is small. The vegetables are usually pretty fresh. I buy fresh turmeric root here for 70% less money than Safeway. My guilty pleasure purchases here are in the freezer section. The samosas, biriyanis, roti, parottas, naan, kulchas call to me. Not the healthiest of items, but certainly better than American factory made breads. If you are from the sub-continent and live on this side of Roseville, you probably know this store. I actually prefer this store over the Reliance market on Fairway.
