Originally thought I made the wrong choice. Seemed that advisors were curt and seemed to talk down to me as if I didn't understand anything about cars. I chalked it up as a bad day and went back for actual work. Seems the first day was a bad day and things were much smoother. I went in have a ambient temperature sensor replaced and when I came to get my car alternator and radiator went down I spent 363$ and when they towed my car back they said they would do the repairs for 2000$ read more

I had taken my jeep to o'reillys to run a diagnostic because my check engine light was on. The diagnostics stated that i needed a new thermostat. As a previous customer of Kens, I took my jeep there, told them that i needed a new thermostat as thats what the diagnostics stated from o'reillys. They said that they wanted to run their tests as well to see if there was any further damage. After they ran tests, they confirmed that i did indeed need a new thermostat, and quoted me $1070 to replace it, (this of course included $180 for running the diagnostic test again). Completely in shock of the cost to get this done, I called another local shop and they quoted me $230 TOTAL. I picked up my jeep from kens, was still charged $180, even though I told them that the issue in the first place. As a woman, i would highly advise you NOT to take your car here, as clearly i was quoted almost triple of what it costed me to actually get my thermostat replaced. I am still in awe i was still charged for to run the diagnostics, when i told them why my check engine light was on. This is the kind of bad business of overcharging people who are not familiar with mechanical repairs. :( read more

absolutely fantastic auto repair shop!the best way to describe Matt, the staff and technicians is if you look up the word "integrity " in the "dictionary ". also known today as "Wikipedia or google" you should find a picture of Ken's Auto Shop on Mississippi in Aurora! I'm a 73 year young woman. I've used this shop before. they just did an alternator on my 2002 Saturn. I called Jacob owner of A Cinch Towing who arrived quickly to take my car to Ken's. he was also fantastic and extremely reasonable price. I had talked to Matt on the phone to make the appointment which was scheduled for the very next day. Matt called after the technician had diagnosed exactly what was needed. he also sent a diagnostic report just advising of any other issue to be aware of - which he never once tried to "update or add on". I agreed to the repair and estimate. car was ready the next morning. chris another extremely nice gentleman from Ken's Auto picked me up in the shuttle. He accommodated my schedule and arrived exactly on time. Absolutely the most amazing auto expert in my life. It even came in a little less expensive than we thought. Ken's Auto Service is top notch to me. They were recommended by a friend and after several bad experiences with other auto shops, Ken's was such a pleasant surprise! They were so professional and knowledgeable as well as super courteous and kind, also very efficient. I had made an appointment to have my car checked out due to a rough idle that was happening. They had test driven it, diagnosed it and had it fixed within just a few hours. During the process, communication was excellent and when I went to pick up my car, they were very thorough in explaining everything that was done and why. I made an appointment before my expected service, and they confirmed my appointment, but they need to respect their clients and their times, not even their own reservations. My service day came, and they called me to CANCEL my appointment because they had too many cars for that day! Imagine you made a reservation in a restaurant, and they called you to cancel your appointment the very same day you reserved. I need help understanding a business that books more people than they can attend. I made a reservation precisely because I wanted to take care of the car when it was convenient and feasible. I will not use this place again, and I recommend you not to do the same, I used my time to make the reservation, I waited for the confirmation, and I expect this business to honor my appointment and respect me as a person. read more

They do good work but don't expect them to honor their warranty they offer. Yeah, I saw the video of the place that inspected my tires...They didn't take the sensor out. It was faulty and you had to order a new part, but didn't want to cover it. That's why you slashed the cost to $125 from $300+ when you found out they were going to cover the cost anyway. You do quality work so I'm giving you an extra star but I would never advise anyone to come here, nor will I ever return. Shady. Oh and you stole my tire cap. TWICE. read more

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the cleanliness. The lobby clean and tidy-then I looked at the work bays-they were clean as well-suggesting their cleanliness is above average. I was then greeted with a warm smile and a cheerful voice-like they wanted my business. After asking numerous technical questions about my vehicle, which were answered in a clear and professional manner-I learned to trust them. After they serviced my vehicle and pointed out the issues that I knew about, they also suggested a couple of things that I did not know about, yet are needing to be done in the future. Ken's auto is an amazing place to take your car , I have a 2011 dodge nitro that kept overheating and I even took it to a dodge and paid big money on a coolant flush , I took it to a mechanic that my family knew I put a brand new radiator for 1,200$ and still not fixed, I took it to Ken's auto after driving by it, kens auto is awesome they also communicate super well and they are super understanding. I recommend this place to anyone who just can't figure out what it is no matter where you take it. I brought my truck in for a major maintenance. It was expensive, but less expensive than I had prepared for. They were very friendly and helpful. They drove me home when they were inspecting it, then picked me up and gave me a loaner car while they did the work. A lot of the work is hidden, but what I could see was good. I fully understand and appreciate that the intention of quotes. But, the original quote was for $1000-1200, as verified in my detailed notes of the conversation. This information was a provided to me as a quote, not a 'guess', whatever that means. I fully provided all requested information at the time. After it was towed in, the quote changed to $1800-2000, which is indeed doubling. What changed in this time? There was no change to the proposed services, only that you found that the VIN somehow provided you new information on the car, because I guess you don't know a car given all requested information. I would have provided the VIN if you asked. Again, I *did not ask for you to break from any policy to give me a quote*. Other companies asked for time and correct information to provide a quote over the phone. I cursed at the situation you put in me, prior to your offer to tow the car after I called you out on this. I did not curse 'at him' and even apologized after I heard he took offence to my French. I probably wouldn't care about this situation much, but I found/find it offensive that your inability to quote is somehow my fault. read more

I've been bringing my Subaru to these guys for years. It's a 2006 and runs like a champ. They take very good care of my car. They are friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, trustworthy. They get me on short notice if necessary and provide warranty on their parts and labor. Since my car is so old they made list of all the things would need to be fixed or maintained to keep it running. They were 100% transparent and provided all the costs. I was able to keep the list and slowly chip away at over a years time. They remember me every time I come in and everything they have done to my car. They are probably a little more expensive than other places, but totally worth it. read more

I went in for a basic oil change. Didn't ask how much it was before booking and it was more expensive than I expected. HOWEVER, included was a full inspection of my vehicle, they sent a link of the evaluation line by line, pictures included. Worth every penny. The evaluation was very thorough and I loved that it had a 3 rank per area evaluated, totally fine, would consider addressing soon, and should be addressed sooner rather than later if you want to avoid bigger issues. It allows me (the customer) the opportunity to address things outside of the regular maintenance I would normally think about and figure out what I might be able to address on my own and what is beyond my limited skills to have a professional address. The waiting area was really nice, clean, offered beverages freely. the bathroom was clean and the staff was all kind and polite. Happy to return here. read more

My check engine light came on and my car was driving very rough so I stopped into Ken's and asked if they would check the engine light. Matt was very polite tested the light and checked the air filter. He came back and in discussions about the issue. They told me what was possibly the problem and told me it should correct itself after driving and if not bring it back. After all their time and help they didn't charge me anything. Once upon a time, in the land of eternal winter and construction (Milwaukee), I had a great mechanic (Anthony at The Quiet Zone on Layton). Over the past 3 years, I've been trying to find an equivalent in Denver. I've bounced around to a few places, but I believe I can finally say "I've got a guy for that". I took my 2004 Jeep Liberty in to Ken's Auto Service. About every 3 years, this thing needs something ridiculous. Like clockwork, November of 2016 gifted me the need for several repairs and 4 brand new tires. Bracing myself for a financial blow, I answered the phone and was shocked when the quote was about half of what I expected. Ken's Auto completed all the work on my car in a few days and gave me a car to use in the meantime. When I picked up my Jeep, I was given a detailed list of work completed. Driving the Jeep home was so smooth and... *quiet*. So quiet. Blissfully quiet. Two weeks after the first repair, something else went wrong. I was waiting for it. I knew it was coming. My car is a dick. "Oh. You think I'm fine now? Think I'm all better? Think a new serpentine belt is gonna make me happy? Watch this." The serpentine belt fell off. On Thanksgiving. On the highway. And my car overheated. I had it towed to Ken's Auto. They called as soon as they opened and found my key on the floor. They let me borrow a car again. Again I received a quote far under what I expected. Again they repaired my Jeep and it was wonderful. Oh but wait for it. This 3-year-repair thing always involves 3 trips to the mechanic. After nothing happened in December, I thought the curse was broken. But then on Wednesday, January 4th, it was 10 degrees out. I got in my car to go to work. No heat. Maybe it just needs to run a little while? "No. No heat for you, Sarah. No heat for the next 4, below freezing days. Lol," said the Jeep, every time I turned it on. I brought it in again. They did repairs, some at no cost, and I have my Jeep back again. I believe I'm done for now *knock on wood*. Ken's Auto Service has done some pretty intensive, remarkable work on my Jeep. Tony, the owner, runs a great shop with a wonderful crew. Everyone is so friendly and caring. My first experience with this place, and I was very pleased with the service. They were responsive, friendly, helpful, and transparent. I waited on my car to be serviced and the waiting room had all kinds of beverages and branded knickknacks to take home (like mugs, koozies, air fresheners, ice scrapers) which I thought was a really nice touch. They didn't try to upsell me on anything, but they did let me know my older car needed some more repairs, which I appreciated. I didn't feel pressured to get it done, but I had time to look up the issues myself and make the decision whether or not I wanted to get it done. They showed me what my fluids looked like and the paperwork was very detailed and let me know exactly what kind of TLC my car needs in the future. They found several issues, but advised me not to invest more money into the car, which was a Subaru with 185k miles on it. Dropped car off for an alignment for $89 and was told if they found anything wrong with it and I didn't have them fix it, it would still cost $45 for dropping it off. Of course and hour later I was told I needed new ball joint, and was told the part cost $350 and $300 for labor and another $100 for alignment. I called 3 different parts places and was told the part was $130, when I picked up the car I told them the prices I found and asked why they were charging me almost triple on the parts, I was told there part was a lifetime warranty part. The parts I found for $130 were also lifetime warranty. He said well we are here to make money, I told them not mine. Do your homework, call around and ask prices on the parts, I bet you will also find they are charging at least double on the same part. Don't get ripped off read more

I have been to this auto-service location twice. I switched jobs and even went back after it was out of my way to do so because of the ratings and the feeling that they were not out to get my money. My last experience was not as good as the first. When they called to tell me my car was ready, I went through the list of things I had written down that needed to be checked. I mentioned something minor on the phone, and the guy on the other end of the phone who works the desk didn't acknowledge what I was talking about. He admittedly "looked over" this item on the form left with the over night drop off of my car. He ended up fixing this problem and apologizing multiple times for having looked over the small request among the others. When I went to pick up my car, something told me to check everything before I left. I'm not mechanic but I do understand that my windshield wiper fluid should be full when I had asked for the service and confirmed verbally via phone that it had been done. When I got into my car to check this, it was still completely empty. I got out of the car and went back into the shop to express my concern, since none of the services requested had been done and I had caught two unfulfilled requests. The desk guy came out and filled the windshield wiper fluid which was still so low that it needed more than one bottle. He also went over all of the other services that were supposedly done and apologized multiple times. I'm still not sure if everything they said they did was done or not. Another thing they did that I really disliked regards the radio in my car. When checking out I noticed a service summary pertaining to my radio stations. I asked the desk guy about this and he explained. Apparently, they check which stations the customer is listening to because they advertise on the radio. They never asked my permission to to do this and as far as i know, I never gave them permission by signing a consent form. I think this is an invasion of my privacy and they have no business rummaging through my car so they can make more money by doing a poor job on service requests and still making the dissatisfied customer pay in full. read more
