I work in Midtown and I often call Ease the day that I'm looking for a massage. They always do a great job of providing an apt. for my preferred time. I usually get reflexology or Ease massage for 50 minutes. It is so relaxing and I end up falling asleep. The scalp massage is the best part. I leave this place feeling very relaxed and ready to take on the rest of the day. I also like that you have your own room and you aren't separated from others with a simple sheet. It is slightly more expensive than the walk in places, but the privacy is worth the price. I would highly recommend Ease, especially for busy Midtowners. read more

I have been here various times in the past year since I discovered it, and I think I feel comfortable recommending it most highly. I love this place. I have a back condition which leaves me with tension aches in my back after sitting for hours. Since my previous job had me sitting 8 hours per day, I often ended my week in pain. Because of the nature of my back issues I appreciate a slightly more vigorous massage along certain trigger points. The Ease Massage, a combination of Swedish and Asian massage techniques, was not only soothing but actually worked out the painful trigger points and left me feeling like I was walking on air every time I left. I've had my share of bad massages and good ones, and the massages I've had here are close to perfect for me. Not all of the therapists are equally good, but most of them are excellent. The staff is unfailingly polite and pleasant. They give you a lovely drink of warm water after the massage is over, and if she has time the therapist usually comes out and gives you some pointers on how to relieve all that tension you are carrying. Definitely I give them points for atmosphere and service. I've since gotten a job which does not leave me with a lot of time to return here and that is such a shame. I really miss their massages and will try to make it a point to return when I can. After I've had such wonderful massages from these folks, trying anywhere else seems like too much of a gamble! This place is amazing and has turned out to be my go-to place for massages in NYC. They have large rooms, with excellent ventilation. It is easy to book with them and they have excellent Covid-19 protocols. The best thing about them is their staff. Love this place!! Happened to find it through a salon directory when I needed a quick massage one night after work that was closeby. It's hidden in an office building type building and the reception area is small, but tranquil. The bathroom is down the hall so go before you start your appointment. The prices are reasonable for a very good massage. Don't ever underestimate the power that comes out of little women's hands! They've been doing this for a long time! You can get swedish, shiatsu or thai massages. The rooms are normal sized and you can ask them to draw the curtains as it gets a little bright in there. Definitely the best massage I've ever had. The first half was mostly kneading and I believe it was meant to warm up the muscles but also find out where the knots and tension were. The second half was focused on problem spots. This is the first massage that I've ever felt was not just relaxing but also therapeutic and a treatment. After I got dressed my masseuse came to me in the waiting area to educate me about where I needed the most work. I would recommend this place to anyone. The place was clean, the atmosphere was serene, and everyone was very professional and kind. I informed my masseuse that I was breastfeeding and she offered me a towel to place under me during the massage and at the end they even let me use a private space so that I could pump. I do have to agree with other fellow yelpers, LOVED this place! Now I know the difference between a real massage and those random ones I've gotten through lifebooker. It's definitely very zen like and it makes you feel as ease as soon as you step inside. All the masseuse wore bright yellow halter tops which went really well with the theme of being zen like and bright. I also really liked the fact that they ask you to fill out a survey with the pressure that I want and asked if there were any particular areas that I wanted them to focus on. They do apply more pressure compared to any of the other places I've gone to, so be sure you can withstand the pressure. I felt like I definitely got my money's worth and i wish i'd gotten a longer massage! My only other wish is that i wish they have a loyalty card because it would be another incentive to go back!! I've been here twice and both times have been amazing. The staff here is so so kind. And the massages are so good--tough yet tender. And I love how they use heat pads to loosen up your muscles--once they had me lay on them so my shoulders and back heated up while they worked on my legs and another time they placed them at my lower back and glute area while they massaged my back. I've had both the ease therapy senior (80 min) and relaxation junior (50 min with aroma). Obviously the 80 minute senior session was out of this world. There's just so much attention to detail, they even have special props to angle your legs so they can get all the muscles and knots. I walked out of the senior session feeling like melted chocolate. Every single muscle felt loved and soothed. The junior session was great too, but not as deep, just pleasant and relaxing. I love how after your treatment they serve hot water with Rescue Remedy flower essences, it really makes me feel cared for. read more

Late review, but i had to give it a review after i had gone there back in September. I had forgotten the name of the masseuse unfortunately but it was splendid. I had called about 30 minutes before hand to see if i could make an appointment after quite a long day, They had said they could fit me in and i came right away! The building itself looked very odd on the outside, but inside was very nice. The massage itself was absolutely amazing, I was in New York for a few days for vacation and was pretty exhausted. She had hit all the spots to perfection, I came out feeling like a brand new person afterwards. The massage and the vibe was great, but I felt like the price was a little too pricey for a 50 minute massage. I went to EASE with my fiance for a couples swedish massage and had a really great experience. The staff was incredibly sweet and do well with their small place to make you feel like you are no longer in New York. We arrived and were seated to fill out forms, as most spas have you do. There was a river rock fountain and light music playing. Little touches, like wooden pens, tied together the entire feel. Soon after we were brought to our treatment room where the sound of ocean waves crashing on the shore were playing. As for our massage, the masseuses were fantastic. They gave us full body massages which were incredibly relaxing. They did not talk and let us relax, only asking once or twice if the pressure was appropriate. I have to say the only downside to this place is that it's not perfectly quiet. Because it's small, you might be able to hear someone outside the door. But the staff is quiet and there aren't many other guests at the same time you go, so there is very minimal noise. If you're expecting perfect quiet, you should probably go to a higher scale place. Honestly among the best massages I've had. Caddy was fantastic - she worked all my tight, knotty parts while somehow making it soothing. A really nice, deep tissue Swedish massage really makes the muscles feel relaxed, and the gentle but vigorous back-and-forth really loosens the joints. Everyone here is delightful. I was having trouble because I wanted a 25 minute foot run but they only make reservations for 50 min. It was for my boyfriends birthday and Mae on the phone was so helpful and friendly. We needed up getting exactly what we wanted. Just had my second massage here - they would have had four stars but someone actually entered the room during my massage (the "face up" portion) and, sorry, not acceptable. Other than that, it's an extremely pleasant experience and in a city where I've struggled to find an hour-long massage for less than $100, it's a dream come true. Front desk: Polite, friendly, efficient, accurate Massage therapists: Have had two different ones, both very good. Good technique, adjusted pressure when necessary, checked in now and then, etc. Facilities: clean, no frills, but quiet and relaxing. The place could use some music though. Best massage ever. I try to have a massage once every three months - it is an investment I make in myself. It helps relieve stress and tension and I feel it helps me function better at work. I discovered ease NY a few years ago - it was near my then job and convenient. I've tried other spas/massage places over the years nearer me - but I keep coming back to ease NY. (It's a slight trek for me now.) Friendly staff, extremely talented therapists, small modest space but clean and classy - you'll feel comfortable instantly. I have had about ten massages at ease NY and they were all the best I've had. (The last one I had tonight was the best massage I have ever had period - feel years younger and pain free.) Definitely worth the reasonable cost and for me - there is no reason to go anywhere else for a massage. Very nice moderately priced Japanese spa in Midtown. I got a 50 minute Swedish massage with Toshi. They included a free aromatherapy scent. I recommend lavender. Toshi was amazing. I was a little nervous having a guy work on me, but it turns out, I now prefer that over a woman now. He was very focused on my problem areas without me even having to tip him off as to where they were. Afterward I was offered what I thought was tea (that pretty much tasted like warm water... maybe it was supposed to be warm water?) but it was a nice gesture. The space is small but clean and the staff is very professional and pleasant. Very relaxing experience and very well worth it. If only I wasn't leaving such a relaxing experience to walk into the chaos of Midtown Manhattan. I've been to Moonflower Spa before and Ease is pretty on par as a reference. read more

If you are looking for an upscale, highly pampered spa, this is not the place to come. This is instead excellent, reasonably priced, middle of the line Japanese massage therapy. I had my very first massage here at Ease NY. I chose a 50 minute massage from a Junior female therapist and 7.5 pressure on a scale of 1-10. I wish that I had chosen a 9 or 10 from her, but nevertheless it was a very relaxing massage that I definitely needed. The walls are pretty thin in the massage rooms, but thankfully my session was very quiet and undisturbed, because no one was booked next door to me until my session was over. I could very clearly and loudly hear the man next door to me though when I was leaving, so make sure to ask if there are any other bookings at the time that you book your massage so that you won't be disturbed. Oh Ease NY how I love thee let me count the ways. I found this place randomly as I read reviews on Yelp about another spot and a reviewer said that that location should be more like Ease. So enter Ease a few months ago when I was having migraines that wouldn't quit. I booked a 50 minute session with a junior therapist and she was a miracle worker. I also really enjoy that they actually read your intake sheet when you come in and go over it with you. They make the effort to get to know what ails you before you get on the table. And I love that at the end they make you sit with warm water and rescue drops in the lobby and bring the check to you. They really want you to relax. And I do. EVERY time. I literally am never more relaxed than I am after leaving Ease. I have since been back since my first visit and had a different therapist and they were both equally skilled and miraculous in their craft. I will be back. read more

I was a fairly frequent visitor at Ease. I really wanted to find a "goto" massage facility near home (i live a few blocks away), I really wanted it to be Ease. The facility itself is very clean and atmosphere is very calming. The staff are very courteous although there is a bit of a language barrier they try their best. Booking: i'm usually able to get an appt for the same day, for last min planners a big plus. Massage: hit or miss-its good when its good, really bad when its bad. I usually get the masters package-these masseuses are supposed to be the most highly trained amongst the pack. I'd say 2/5 times i have really amazing massage sessions from the same master masseuse. All other times they were terrible. There is one master masseuse in particular, she had no rhyme &had no idea what she was doing. I had the best massage ever today. It was 100 minutes, I arrived early to fill out the form saying what my problem areas were, and I had the most effective and relaxing time. My therapist LISTENED and tailored the treatment to my needs. I recently pulled a muscle in my left shoulder and my therapist managed to relieve me of ALL the pain and keep me relaxed. Going in, I was scared I was signing up for a beating like some shiatsu places... She also gave a wonderful foot and scalp massage and stretched me out thoroughly. My mom also had a 100 minute service and said every minute was fantastic. I cannot wait to come back, let some stress go, and refuel. Made a reservation one week in advance over the phone, but when we showed up, we were told that they "have no record of our appointment." One lady kept apologizing repetitively - which did nothing to change the fact that we showed up and were denied massages - while the other proceeded to accuse us of not actually having booked a reservation with them (was I hallucinating on the phone...?). The language barrier also didn't help our cause given the fact that neither of them really spoke or understood anything we were saying to them. Voir dire/background: I consider myself a fairly experienced massage connoisseur. I have acute chronic shoulder, neck, and lower back problems, and I try as many places as I can. I know where to go in Bali for the best 5-hr spa + massage treatment. Boston Bodyworker is my favorite therapist center in Boston. The only people I trust in Shanghai to treat my back is Lanmart @ Daning Life Hub (they fixed what 3 physical therapists and 1 sports medicine doctor couldn't). I've tried about three different places in NYC and I am still going to keep trying more, but when I want a reliable masseuse in a calming environment to treat some serious medical muscle issues, I go to Ease NY. Ambiance: Their staff is always professional, polite, and pleasant. Their lobby is welcoming and the sound in the rooms (all private) is just soothing waves--it feels like I'm at a beachside massage hut. My favorite thing about Ease is how private it feels, and how personal every member of the staff's attention to me is. Main selling point: EXPERTISE I have had two different masseuses and gone three times, all for the Ease Massage. After tonight's massage, I think I will have to recommend Beni (Benny?) to all my friends, because she knew exactly how much pressure to use when and where, even though I hadn't told her about some smaller issues. The other masseuse I've had also had the same training, but perhaps she just did not read my body as well as Beni did. (See below for before and after assessment.) Ease is definitely where you want to go if you're hurting or stressed out and you need some honest, relaxing treatment in a welcoming and private environment. Actual experience (today): I went in today because my lower back was killing me. It was an old problem that flared up suddenly and had me tottering around with a cane yesterday. Normally I go in for my neck, and tell them to focus on that when my masseuse receives me in the lobby. I was having severe tension in my neck (felt like hard steel cables or cords), but I didn't even mention my neck today and Beni still noticed and paid extra attention to my shoulders and neck! On my first visit they had me fill out a form with my medical information, so they could pay attention or be aware of certain conditions, allergies, etc. There is a spectrum on the sheet where you indicate the amount of pressure you want. They also have a chart where you indicate exactly where you have problems. When you return, the masseuse asks you every time if you would like her to focus on a particular area. They take instruction very well and are responsive when you tell them mid-massage that something is too hard or an area particularly bothers you. My Ease Massage always starts out face down covered with only a sheet on a soft padded massage table (you keep your underwear on). The masseuse runs her fingers lightly down your body and also rolls the side of her arm down your body, presumably to assess how tight certain muscle clusters are. Multiple heat packs are applied and your legs are given a light rub-down with lotion. I get a little light foot reflexology through the sheet as well. Once this standard procedure occurs, the massage then varies according to your particular needs. When I've gone for my neck, there's a light rubdown of my back with a tiny extra time spent on my lower back where she feels tightness. Then I think half of this segment is spent on my focus area and the other half on general tension and wellness. When I've gone for my back, she puts in some serious effort in that area too, and it feels like a Swedish massage. Beni in particular seemed very aware of when I tensed because of a little too much pressure or if there was a particular area that would benefit another area if it got the right attention. Next comes the part where you lie on your side. She rotates your arm passively and rolls your arm and fingers, as well as helps you stretch. She also works hard on your neck and shoulders if you are tense there, and Beni did a particularly good job for me. She paid very focused and talented attention to my problem areas but was efficient about distributing her time. Finally you lie on your back, covered with a sheet, and she works your pectorals, your trapezius, and also stretches your arms above your head and pulls, stretching out your entire body. The amount of time this is done varies with the masseuse. Final result? Before: barely able to walk, terrible tight lumbar back pain, steel cords in tense neck, beginnings of a migraine After: relaxed, HAPPY, about 90% less sore neck, able to walk without issues! Summary: For a well-trained, attentive, private, quiet, unobtrusive massage that is responsive to your needs moment by moment and also has the expertise to treat your needs, go to Ease NY! (Ask for Beni, but others are good too!) Odds and ends: They accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. No AmEx. Tips are provided cash-only in little yellow envelopes like most spas. read more

I've been floating around from one massage place to another because I haven't found a permanent place to my liking, but it looks like i can finally stop looking around the corner for something else. Ease NY was pretty much everything I was asking for and more. There are some places where you just feel awkward being in, even if the staff is particularly nice to you, but I didn't feel that way at all here. Everyone is so amazing and courteous, and I felt right at home. I opted for the 80 minute Ease massage, and I fell asleep 20 minutes into it because it was so good. She pinpointed all of my knots and trouble spots, and got out all of them with the right amount of pressure. Space is also vast and clean, and it's 5 minutes away from Chipotle too :) read more

I had a spasm in my upper back, a chronic problem that flares a few times a year. I went here during a lunch break, got an hour massage, and was very much pleased. The reception area is tiny, and its hidden on an upper floor of an office building, but the rooms for massage are normal size.
