The good old deli! But wait, they have upped their products, service, and overall vibe of their restaurant. There are not many choices in the Kosher food industry when it comes to Denver, Colorado. This is a strange place and super expensive! Chicken soup is served cold- noodles cold- matzo balls 4 small hard balls - mom would be ashamed also cold and they charged $8.99 for the balls $11.99 for the cold soup. Never ate at their restaurant, but I've bought at the supermarket side of their business. There's a decent selection of kosher food, the shelves are always stocked, and some good imported stuff from Israel. The premake food is pretty good too. The stuff there are nice, and helpful. The prices reflect the fact that it is the only kosher supermarket in Colorado, and it feels like they take advantage of that. read more

It was brought out with a sad flat wheat bread as they do not have pumpernickel and what they think is pumpernickel is not. The chicken and potato salads were so mayonnaise'd that it was gross and tasteless. Ridiculously and arbitrarily overpriced for what you get. read more

I was quite impressed with this deli! I have rarely been to a kosher deli outside the NYC area which had good food and this one certainly did! The front of the deli has a store with a large variety of groceries and meats and wine. In the back is a sit down restaurant and what looks like a small catering hall. Denver is very limited when you're looking for a kosher restaurant. This one is the best. Great customer service and a broad selection of really delicious food. I took 3 guests to dinner here on a Thursday evening. Each person ordered something different and finished with a huge slice of chocolate cake. Everything there is made in house, including the corned beef, ground beef and fresh French fries. Although it was pricey, the quality, selection, and customer service was worth it. Came here for lunch after a flight in from Philly and also picked up the shabbos package for 6, everything was amazing! Lunch was fantastic and our waitress was so great with our daughter (brought out her hot dog from the kids menu quickly and had her water in a paper cup with a lid, so fewer spills to worry about). The shabbos package was incredible! Everything we needed for Shabbat (including grape juice, candles and a havdalah set) and food was delicious. Portions were huge and we had so much food. We were bringing some of the food as our dinner to a wedding that didn't have kosher food and the pargiyot, bourekas, and quinoa salad were delicious. Lots of the food works well at room temp (like lo mein, shnitzel, bourekas) if you don't have a way to heat it up. But the shabbos food also comes double wrapped in foil so if you have an oven (which our Airbnb did) you can warm it up. We thought the price was very reasonable given the generous portions, good quality, and convenience of not needing to spend our vacation prepping our own food. Highly recommend, and they were so friendly (even helped carry our boxes of food to our car). We'll be back the next time we're in Colorado. read more

Ordered a sandwich today for a friend that lives up in Denver and they are having some medical issues. It was very easy to order just what she wanted and liked online and another friend who was going to go visit with them at the hospital was able to pick it up and deliver it to her for me. Though when i was ordering teh sandwich online it looked like they also offer delivery. They sent a confirmation email to me with my order and also offered follow up afterwards. You know the out of town people who "discover" the great local restaurant? Well, apparently I'm one of those people. I just "discovered" this place. It's a deli it's a restaurant it's a grocery store. The restaurant is in the back past the deli counter. The walk past the deli counter is best done with blinders on I'm telling you don't look until you've eaten. Ok the restaurant the menu has one rare item after another. I noticed pan fried red snapper for next time. We had the Kreplach look it up if you don't know. We had a bowl brimming with noodles broth and the namesake dumplings. (No matzo ball) best in town and I've tried quite a few. Service is outstanding easy access across the street from Goodwill on Leetsdale. So take that stuff you were going to sell and give it a second life and then treat yourself to Kreplach! read more

I've been here many many times as my client who is orthodox, keeps kosher by having me meet him here for lunch. Obviously you can get non kosher items in the restaurant as well as shopping for many specialty items and regular groceries in the market in front. I've met my work associates Rabbi, Cantor, Neigbors etc which is quite cool and since I'm "Jewish by injection" as my Jewish mother in law would call it. I know my way around the delicious delicacies. Aka matzo ball soup with kreplach, or pastrami Rueben made with latkes instead of rye bread. Not to mention appropriate greetings and salutations. We like coming not only so he can keep kosher, but it's not far from the hotel I stay at and it's typically quiet and easy for us to spread out iPads and laptops and do biz-ness. Reasonable prices fast prompt friendly service, allowing us to simply hang out and work, checking-only to refill water or ice tea. It's not blow your mind fare, but I doubt that's the intent. It's about serving the large Jewish community with a synagogue and JCC literally around the corner. They cater they cook to order and they sell all you need to do it yourself while maintains religious requirements in a delicious way. While it seems as if there are a few here who understand the meaning of Kosher, I honestly feel as if this place is being confused by a lot of people as NY style deli. It is NOT. This is a Kosher establishment who's first priority is following the rules of Kashruth. They cater to observant Jews and despite someone repeating they feel "sorry" for observant Jews should please go back to TX. The observant Jews are perfectly happy. This is a different experience than other "jewish style deli's". Rosenbergs has three different sites and the full Kosher site is in a different location. I wasn't planning on writing a horrible review until Sergio the manager was so rude to my wife and I. Here's why we think this place NEEDS improvement: 1. We found a green bug in our food. We wanted to discreetly ask for a refund so there would be no embarrassment but Sergio managed to make a big deal out of it by ignoring me first, and yelling at my wife to get my money and get out! It was so humiliating... we come here all the time and not by choice. 2. 3. Interpersonal skills/ respect to customers is very important in the food industry. 4. They NEED to learn from other food industries like California, Florida, New York and even Las Vegas. Mazol Tov to Denver for not only having a Jewish Kosher deli/restaurant, but a pretty well stocked mini Kosher supermarket. You can nosh (eat a little something) or eat like a khazer (pig) at this deli and never feel farklempt (bummed out). My friends shleped (dragged) all the way from Boulder to come to this Denver treat... So, how could I pass up the opportunity to bring my shagitz (non Jewish Male) boyfriend so that he could try good old gefilte fish? Just like my Nana used to make it...Oh, yum, nothing excites me more then ground deboned fish... just scoop it out with an ice cream scoop, plop it on a piece of butter lettuce and call it an appetizer. In my opinion, this dish is not mekhaye (particularly delicious). I am however a sucker for corned beef sandwiches on Jewish Rye bread, which is pretty darn good at this deli... Just don't try to order the sandwich with cheese, which is totally treyf (non-koshor). The East Side Kosher Deli has been bringing pure Parve pleasure from its perch just off Leetsdale Boulevard for years now. The shop itself has Cholov Yisroel cheeses in many much-loved varieties, as well as masterful matzoh from Manischewitz (makers of everyone's favorite ceremonial wine). The crunchy Israeli snacks called Bissli (in flavors such as Smoky, Onion, and Falafel - yes, Bill O'Reilly, *that* falafel) are here too, in addition to halvah (the chocolate one's my favorite), egg noodles and gefilte fish! And their butcher case isn't just chopped liver, if you get my meaning. Then, after you've bought your goodies, head to the restaurant at the back of the store for even more fun. Perhaps a piled-high Tongue Sandwich will hit the spot... as well as a little sweet-spicy Yerushalmi Kugel, maybe? And don't forget to save room for some Cheesecake (Kosher, of course)! The water was really good. The water at my house and office has tasted kind of weird lately. My boyfriend/fellow diner says he cannot attest to the water quality because he was not provided with a glass of water. The meal kind of went downhill from there. I think another reviewer mentioned walking in and debating walking back out. I admit I had the same reaction when we arrived. I decided to order a cup of matzoh ball soup and a brisket sandwich. The kosher Jewish deli was out of brisket though so I quickly decided on a potato knish instead. The sandwiches didn't come with sides and were $12 and up so I didn't want to pick another sandwich I wasn't super psyched on. When we arrived there was one other person in the dining room. There were about ten people total while we were there. Shortly after we sat down, a table of men arrived. They got the majority of the attention from the wait staff and manager. They seemed unhappy with the menu options. They seemed kind of rude, but I also couldn't help but think if you only have three tables out of 30 at lunch time, then maybe give these guys the chicken they want. My soup arrived. My first thought was 'this is from a can'. Not sure if it was or not but it had that look. It was hot. The matzoh ball was very dense. My knish and my boyfriend's Reuben came out next. The Reuben was quite small for a deli sandwich. When he asked if it came with sides, she said yes it comes with lettuce and tomato. Ok. I guess I'd call a piece of lettuce a garnish and not a side, but ok. The fries he ordered separately were underdone. When someone finally came over, he asked them to drop them back in the fryer for a few more minutes. Meanwhile I began eating my knish. Not even Gulden's mustard could save it. Knishes are supposed to be a flaky pastry shell stuffed with potatoes or meat or sometimes mushrooms which is disappointing. This was a very dense dough with completely unseasoned potatoes inside that were quite dry. Knishes aren't known for their crazy spice levels, but there's usually a little bit of onion grated into the potato. The fries returned. This batch was piping hot and just as underdone. I very rarely don't finish all my food, especially when all I got was a cup of soup and a knish, but I didn't even eat half of the knish. The third basket of fries was cooked an ok amount. read more

I called to find out if they have new dill pickles or half sour pickles, and they said yes. Kosher? Exactly what does that mean? Most of us who aren't Jewish really have no idea - - but East Side is the only Kosher deli in the greater Denver metro area. The one thing that I do know is that Kosher means that it is prepared with care and to old world standards. A friend told us about East Side. It is a little off the beaten path and in a building that obviously has seen better days. Since we were passing within a 1/2 block of East Side, and it was lunch time, we decided to drop in and pick up a couple of sandwiches from the deli. One whole roast beast & salami, one 1/2 pastrami. Were they good? Absolutely. Were they Kosher? Perhaps. But what do I know? I do know they were expensive. $21.90 for one & 1/2 sandwiches, plus 1/2 lb of potato salad. Will we go back.
