We (three of us, all originally from NJ and two of us with another 25 years in NYC under our belts) all loved it- genuine NY style pizza (we settled on thinking it's a combo of Patsy's and Mikes with better texture than either alone). The owner of The new East Side Pizzeria is the former owner of Michael's Pizzeria that was located in the cove in Deerfield Beach. Michael is proud to announce that even though it's a new place and location he is now open there with his same great pizza and great quality ingredients that made Michael's Pizzeria the place to go when you wanted great pizza or great dinners. East Side is not at all affiliated with Michael's old pizzeria. The only thing that remains the same at his new place is the great taste that made Michael's old place so great. My wife declined the medium pie. The woman told her cook to start a large pizza. The younger woman came back to the area and was questioned about my order. She said I never placed an order. She said that I had not paid. I asked them why would we be sitting in their restaurant for 20 minutes if we didn't order. In any restaurant I worked in, a server would ask a seated customer if everything was OK. So the young order taker said I never ordered the pizza and I was right there listening. She basically accused me of lying while she was the one that didn't tell the truth. I lost it and said Bullshit! I turned around and went to our table and yelled to my wheelchair bound wife "We're out of here!" My wife is upset because she really likes the pizza here. I told her that I will never order from there again. I worked in the food industry for years and it's not an easy profession to be in. The customer is not always right but the customer is the customer. Try not to piss them off. Just because you have a good product in a niche environment serving Kosher food, doesn't mean you can afford to upset your customers.
