My family, beginning with my parents, have used East Urban Auto exclusively for the past 10 years. Not a single complaint. Ever. When I was very, very bad and let my brakes go way too long before I got them replaced, it turned into what should have been a $400+ job. The owner instead honored the current brake special he had running and saved me a ton of money. I did have to sit through a short lecture to not do that next time, but it was worth it! They run coupons and have good regular prices all the time, from oil changes to major overhauls. In our family (parents, me, brother) they've done all the maintenance and repairs on an 87 Honda Accord, 83 Honda Civic, 00 Honda Civic, 05 PT Cruiser, 88 Chevy Suburban, 04 Ford Windstar, 95 Honda Accord, and a 79 Ford PU. My experience here is the first time I've felt comfortable and left very happy after getting an oil change- no upsell, no obvious scamming, no creepy workers. This is a family owned business and it shows in a good way. The guy who did my oil change was beyond polite and cheerfully helped me with a few questions that I had. I had a coupon but wouldnt blink an eye paying full price, they have them listed and everything seemed reasonable. While waiting I heard behind-the-scenes conversations regarding others' cars that made me smile- they arent out to make a buck...they seem to be out to help their customers. Recently, I bought a Honda from my brother knowing that there was some sort of ground problem/power struggle happening between the alternator and the battery. Because my bro had just bought the alternator two months prior, we figured it was just a ground problem. Being the little impatient speed racer that I am, I decided that I wanted to take this bad boy into a professional to get a diagnostic for the problem and to see if there was anything else needing fixin'. $33 and a day later I was a happy girl! Not only did the mechanic tell me the alternator was bad (which meant I could take it back on warranty and not spend a dime), but he also gave me a print out of other pending issues and listed the order in which he would recommend fixing them. Their price to fix it in their shop was a little pricey and I realized that I could save hundreds of dollars solving the problems myself. For customer service, the price of their diagnostic and their genuine honesty, I would definitely give them five stars but I will say that their quote to fix the issues was a little steep. With no doubt I would recommend this place highly to anyone and feel that these guys have good integrity and great ethics!! read more

I'm one of those untrusting types, especially when it comes to mechanics. I can't say that about East Urban Auto Service. They are very honest and up front. They take the time to check out your vehicle and aren't going to suggest any unnecessary repairs just to make a quick buck. They also realize that not everyone has a tree in their back yard that grows money. Basically, there were repairs that were an immediate need and repairs they felt that could wait. They also understand that it's extremely inconvenient to be without your vehicle, and work hard to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. I will definitely be recommending them. read more

East-Urban Auto Service is a fine place to get one's oil changed, or anything else, really. According to the sticker on my windshield, I'd needed an oil change for the last couple months, and I figured my car had enough tough love already, so I set off to find an auto service. I went to my favorite website, Yelp of course, and found East-Urban. It seemed honest, professional, and reasonably priced; everything a good auto service should be. I brought my car by, and it turns out, it's appointment only. Didn't see that on the website, but no big deal, I'll grab some lunch. So, I did, and brought my car back. Additionally, I used their online coupon, for a $24.95 oil change ($28.95 regularly), and a free vehicle inspection. (Though, note they charge a $3 oil disposal fee.) Overall, the car runs a bit better now, and isn't gulping down gas. Too, with the free vehicle inspection, they determined I needed new covers for my hood gasket, but informed that it wasn't an emergency. It was nice to know that they're looking out for the customer, as well. I'm satisfied with East-Urban, and likely will be returning [by appointment] to this family-owned business in the future. CAUTION! PRECAUCIÓN!: When departing the business, go out towards I-405; you have a massive blind spot exiting onto Slater Ave NE; I almost got hit. read more

So apparently there are new owners. My mom has taken her car here for years with quality work always being done. Since the new owners she has had a "new" radiator put in as well as a "new" water pump. Nothing but problems since. Her car is now at a trustworthy mechanic and it appears that there was never a new water pump put in. These guys seem to have no problem taking advantage of a 68 year old woman who is willing to pay to have quality work done. She did not get that from these guys at all. As her daughter this makes me furious. This wouldn't have happened if Jason was still there. Please, if you are looking for quality work do not take your car to these crooks! read more

Beware in all my years going to auto repairs this was the worst experience I ever had. The shop manger completly lied to me and told me they had repaired my car which they did not they never even had part the part in! I took this to another to find out the repair was not done and caused me more costly repairs because of this. Never never would I trust this shop! read more

It is a family-run business and both Jason and his father are amazing to work with. They always remember me by name (and I only come like two or three times a year for a service and oil change). They take great care of my car, and they are always on time for their commitments on getting the service done. They go above and beyond to ensure I get the best service possible, and that my car is maintained and in great working condition. Poor customer service!! I paid them over $600 to fix an issue with my car... They promised it was fixed the 2nd time and it wasn't. I called back to try to troubleshoot and come up with a plan on how to get this issue fixed, and they basically told me they wished I would go to another shop because they were too frustrated with my car :( I was so upset and frustrated with this issue that I ended up selling my car instead of getting it fixed. Pretty bad experience, especially for the amount they charge you for labor!! Also, please be aware that the review recently posted by "Jase L." is a fake review written by the manager of this auto shop to somehow "offest" my poor review. This was not an actual customer, but the manager himself! I only know this because he sent me a response to my review with the same name. read more

Jason and East-Urban auto are top notch. I was a little reluctant to take my BMW to a non-BMW shop to have a clutch repair job done but my experience here made me a fan for life. They did a fantastic job on my BMW and went over and above to deal with some issues that were affecting the transmission along the way. The job was done right the first time, on time and on buget. Way less than a dealer would have charged that is for sure. Got me in and had my brakes checked that morning and after reading the reviews about pricing I was a little nervous, but when I asked about replacing more than was necessary they advised against, which in my book is always a sign of honesty, most shifty car mechanics are always willing to charge more and change more. SHORT STORY: Recently took in a used Toyota Tundra to get a pre purchase inspection. Staff is awesome. These guys know customer service and professionalism. Very reasonable price for a full 90pt inspection including road test. The owner and son both drive toyota trucks and knew everything about them. Highly recommend a visit. They treat you like family! LONG STORY: It started the night before at around 4:45 when I called East Urban to see about getting a used Toyota Tundra checked out that was for sale by Toyota of Kirkland. Jason answered the phone with a very friendly and professional manor. He paused to double check the schedule to even try and fit me in that night! They were full so we scheduled for following morning. I had questions about Toyota of Kirkland (which happens to be right down the street) and their integrity. Jason assured me that they were good guys especially Adam Powell, their service manager. I never buy a vehicle without a pre purchase inspection so even though this made me feel better I decided to continue with the assistance of East Urban. 830am I arrive at the dealership who kindly let me take the vehicle out for the inspection after signing a couple documents. I arrive at East Urban at 9pm where the lift is open and waiting for the tundra. Walk in to meet Jeri who is the father of Jason. Jeri greeted me with a smile and made me feel very welcome. Explained PPI would take about 1 hour and I can go for a walk or wait. I chose to wait. small lounge had 3 chairs, couple of magazines and small flat screen. Customers would walk in and he would know them all by name. Most were repeat customers who clearly trusted the shop. Pretty cool. Back to the truck. One of the mechanics (nick?) took the tundra out on a road test for about 15 minutes. Comes right back to the lift and begins further inspection. Goes through the whole thing. Fills out detailed inspection sheet with all notes. Done on time and done well. Nick comes in with Jeri to go over the findings in detail for me. Nothing was wrong with the truck so most of it was praising the mechanical condition for it's age. Mentioned that underbody was painted during detail but that there were no signs of rust. Jeri then mentioned that he has driven a tundra almost identical for the past 9 years and he loves it. East Urban gave me the confidence and peace of mind to know that this would be a great truck for years to come. I returned to the dealer to negotiate and sure enough that afternoon I drove it off the lot. Thank you East Urban! When I have any issues with the tundra I know exactly where to go! They had one of the techs drive me and my daughter home while they fixed my car, called me to let me know the total of repairs to make sure I agreed to all charges, called and let me know they were coming to pick us up, knocked politely on the door when they got to our house, drove us back to the office and the car is now running beautifully. We had a 1997 Honda Passport that sat at the side of our house for 2 yrs and was horrible to drive. The steering wheel had so much play in it that I thought I was turning when I was going straight. Also, the AC didn't work at all and it was miserable to drive. I took it in to East Urban Auto as I had heard from others that they were extremely happy with the work that they do. I was pleased to hear that they would give us a complete detailed evaluation of the car and whether or not we should just scrap it or fix it up. Well, Jerry and his son were so helpful and the estimate they gave was worth keeping the car! They fixed it so that it's a great car to drive and everything works now. We love it! DON'T USE EAST URBAN!! I had them repair my vehicle and they quoted me over $800 for the work. I agreed to the $800. When they were done, they informed me it was nearly $1500!! They said they were sorry that they didn't call me to tell me about the increase, but they couldn't do anything about it. Whats worse is as soon as I got my car back it was making an awful noise from their repair. I took it to the dealer and they had to re-do some of what East Urban did...to the tune of another $500!! I wouldn't recommend these jokers to my worst enemy! read more

I took my Mini-Cooper in because it was running rough. It needed a new ignition coil. The spark plugs were old. As long as it was there I had them repair a leak in the cooling system. I had the oil changed. New filters and they rotated my tires. All done for 1/3 the dealer was going to charge. My fabulous Mini now runs like new. I am so thrilled. Don't go here, one person said $45 for diagnostics and other person try to take $95 but ended up paying $45 only. The diagnostics is not reliable. They told me that breaks needs to be replaced, but they are fine. Radiator quote was $461, I get it done for $60(part)+$60(30 minutes job). read more

I had a last minute inspection to be done before buying a new used car. I called around everywhere and no one had availability. When I called East Urban they said they could do it if I got it to them by 4pm. I kept calling around to other shops in the area but again, no dice. So I called these guys again and made sure I could still make it. I noticed as I got checked in by Jason that they were just finishing up a different car and taking it off the lift - they knew they we're going to have a lift open and timed it perfectly to work me in at the last minute. That is good to see. They didn't have a lift open until 4pm, had the foresight to plan for me arriving, and didn't just tell me they had no availability on the phone so they could go home sooner. In other words they made an effort to take care of my situation. The inspection went well and they were accommodating to my curiosity on the used car I was considering buying. After making sure there was nothing majorly wrong they also provided some advice on a good price to offer. We ended up getting the car for a great price thanks to the confidence we had from that advice. I have returned so far for an oil change today and again the customer service is excellent. I see the 1 star reviews and know they are from disgruntled competitors. As someone who strives for good customer service at my business, these guys are genuine. read more

I have known these guys for years and refer my friends and family all the time. They have worked on several of my cars over the last 10 years and never fail. Anything from my transmission problem in my BMW to exhaust and electrical work in my Toyota. Its a family business Jason and his father run the place. In a business that's so difficult to trust its amazing to find someone you can. They even told me that's its too expensive to fix or they can't do it. And they are very fare with their Price's. Worst customer service ever! I never write bad reviews, this is my first and hopefully the last one. Usually one can sort things out with the owner who wants to keep a customer happy by coming up with a compromise. Unfortunately not in this place. Jason was defensive, rude, kept cutting me off and proving why all of us were wrong (4 people! talked to him about this billing issue and the initial arrangement), he did not honor the inital agreement and somehow it was all our fault. At the end it cost me $900 extra out of pocket since an estimate was never provided (although on their website they advertise "free estimate"). Well, for East Urban Auto it cost a bad Yelp review and a complaint to BBB (my first and hopefully the last ever). read more

We've been taking our cars here for years and have always been very happy with the honesty and integrity of Jeri (dad)and Jason (son) Lucas. I always use the oil change coupons and they will honor them even if I forget it. They will let you know if something needs to be done soon but not right away. Many mechanics would not be as honest. I was able to have my car repaired at East Urban Auto for a fraction of what I was quoted at the dealership. Jeri, the owner, is very nice (as is the driver who took me to work and picked me up afterwards to get my car). They're nice, honest, clean, and reasonably priced. I trust them with my car and have confidence that only what's necessary will be quoted, and they keep close attention to things that may come up as well every time my car has an oil change there. Stay away! We have now had two awful experiences here. Our first was several years ago where we spent thousands of dollars having an oil leak fixed in our car. It took them at least six instances of them telling us they had fixed the leak, only to take our car home and have it drip all over our driveway. Each time, they would promise they had fixed it this time only to be lied to again. You would think we learned our lesson, but we recently returned to have them fix a problem in our older truck. After describing the problem, we left the truck with them to diagnose. They later told us they had identified the problem and what it would take to fix (catalytic converter). We authorized the fix, picked the truck up later that week and guess what, IT WAS NOT FIXED. If anything, it was worse. When we called, they then told us they could not actually replicate the problem in the truck so they guessed about what was wrong with it. So, in my opinion they have LIED to us by not disclosing that they were not able to replicate the problem. We never, ever would have authorized this fix if we had been told this vitally important piece of information. Not disclosing the entire truth is the same as lying and we spent $800+ to learn the hard way that this business has no sense of ethics or customer service. We will be contacting the BBB to report them for misleading us with false information and lying about our diagnosis. I know this place used to be amazing, but I will warn everyone I know not to trust them with anything beyond an oil change. read more

I have used East Urban Auto service for as long as I can remember....more than 10 years, and have always had excellent service from these guys. I have brought in 3-4 of my own vehicles over the years and have referred many family and friends to this shop as well due to the honest service I have received. When you are looking for a good mechanic, my main criteria is honesty and integrity. What I mean by this is that I just want my car fixed when it has an issue without worrying about being hit up for things and repairs that I do not need. I have always felt that when I have brought one of my vehicles into East Urban, they have explained my options for completing a repair, the estimated costs which have always been accurate, and worked with me on my budget by prioritizing what needs to be repaired now and what needs to be repaired at a later date. I realized how important this was when I had to take my car to the Nissan dealer for a recall on a defective part that only the dealer could replace. While the dealer mechanic was replacing a small defecfive part on my vehicle, he happened to "poke around" further and come up with 8 pages of itemized problems with my car that needed to be addressed immediately. I had to argue with the combative desk manager who wanted me to move forward with these repairs right away. I took the list to East Urban, who reviewed the list in detail, and explained that while many of the items listed were eventually going to wear out, there was still plenty of life left in the parts and no need to repair immediately.
