Well, East Wok is a great takeout spot that is a standout among all the crappy Chinese restaurants in the area...I've been going there for a few years-& I ask myself why didn't I try it sooner! So burned-out with the same old Chinese takeouts, I finally found a spot that deserves your attention...A small little place, but don't let that fool you-the unique selection of items is quite surprising-not a giant menu, but dishes that speak of authenticity & quality...A favorite is the Mala Chicken, superbly seasoned with sichuan peppercorns, though the Mongolian chicken & Salt & Pepper chicken are winners,too. East Wok's difference? NO gloppy, overly sweetened and sugary sauces or greasy dishes that we've been accustomed to...I have to say, the rest of the menu items are worth checking out, too...It's just a "fresh" taste that keeps me coming back...C'mon, East Wok deserves 5 stars, and you deserve to go there! read more

Ordered a dinner combination of pork fried rice ( no vegetables) and boneless bbq ribs. Good portion and meal was delicious. OH! And it comes with an egg roll, which most Chinese takeout stopped including with the meal, but this place does for the combo. read more

Just ordered take out. This is the most amazing Chinese place ever. This is the 2nd best meal I have had this year . So unless you want to drive 3 1/2 hours and get the veal osubuco form Vinnies in summer Mass eat here I got delivered it was here in 30 min steaming hot. Placed a $100 order online. When the food didnt arrive an hour and a half later I called the restaurant. They said they never got the order even though I received a confirmation email and number. Suddenly the order magically appeared. Didn't get an "I'm sorry" the guy that answered the phone said "do you still want the order or..." Completely unacceptable business practice. Not great but edible- Scallion cakes were bready no scallion. Kung pao was tasty; veggies crisp but chicken in it was mediocre quality. Pork Dumplings were big, doughy and tasteless. skip them. Ribs - oily not very seasoned. Boneless spare ribs were pretty good. Probably won't try again. read more

No authentic chinese food here.. its junky fast food ... but junkier than normal... you can see n taste the lower quality... the beefs not really beef like. the fried rice has no color .. the fake crab is really really spongy fake... looks like the red food coloring's very obviously sprayed on. I wanted a quick dinner of shrimp with lobster sauce. When I called late Sunday night, they said it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I got there in 8 minutes and it was waiting for me. This is the best lobster sauce I've had in a while. The shrimp is so fresh too. I will define go back. read more

Well, I've finally found my new Chinese Take-Out spot! We moved to Clifton a few months ago and did the usual dance of trying new places until you find one you can live with... but with East Wok it wasn't so. Even better, we love the food! I live on the edge of Clifton so I was lucky enough to be in the delivery range. We have now ordered 5+ times and each time was equally as good. We've tried a wide variety of menu items, and definitely liked some more than others, but have yet to order anything "bad". Their delivery time is decent (even though I am prob the farthest away possible for them), and the food comes piping hot. They include extra, free items without request, and everyone I've dealt with have been super friendly. I even ordered a few times directly on their website with no problems. Highly recommended for everyone! Man, am I happy to have a place like East Wok nearby!! read more

Great service. It is a great place where you eat or takeout. Nice a clean. It will be great if you bring kids and or family if you want to have a quiet place to eat lunch or dinner. This has always been my go-to Chinese place. I must say over the years the taste has changed a little. But with that said it still pumps out above average Chinese food. East Wok is still the best Americanized Chinese take-out/delivery around, but it has definitely declined from what it was. Service, speed, and prices are still good, but the food has gone downhill. The quality of the ingredients are still ok, but the flavors just aren't there. The curry chicken, once great, has gotten very bland. Do NOT get the sesame chicken--its just sweet and sour chicken with some sesame seeds sprinkled on top. That kind of thing. read more

The best Chinese delivery that I've found in the area... nothing spectacular, but good Americanized Chinese food. I would highly recommend the chicken and spinach dumplings though! I'm a particular eater and this place totally did as ask, and came to Elmwood park in less than a half hour. Only grips were no plastic ware or napkins, plus the BBQ spare ribs came in a metal container with place lid; I know, normal takeout stuff, but I love taking leftovers to work the next day and normally Chinese food tends to come in those plastic reheatable containers.
