COVID UPDATE: When I dined in during COVID, they were using the following precautions: patrons wear a mask when not seated at the table; servers are masked throughout; and they are strictly capping the dining room at 50% capacity and keeping every other table open. I've eaten at Eastern Peak A LOT. While I don't think the food is anything to write home about (pretty standard Pan Asian fare), it has a varied menu - and it's been a good restaurant pick when I know I'm eating with pickier eaters (because the menu covers Thai favorites, stir fry dishes, and Japanese food - including sushi - there's something for almost everyone). From drunken noodles to Thai curries to sushi, Eastern Peak has it all. And everything I've tried is pretty good! The service is good; the restaurant is clean and modern inside; and they have happy hour. The food is a little pricier than your typical Pan Asian restaurant, but the food is consistently good and sure to please just about anyone! I'm from California so I'm spoiled (and picky) about sushi. I wouldn't recommend this place. This isn't a legit sushi bar, it's more like an Asian fusion fast food but in a sit-down setting. Almost all sushi rolls have cream cheese in them. Kentucky roll is weird and pretty gross to me. Chicken stir fry is soaking in teriyaki sauce. Salmon roll are tiny pieces of a roll with a little bit of salmon in them. I generally judge a sushi place by its salmon and I wasn't impressed. Orange chicken has a strong orange flavor, which some might like. I didn't. It was too sweet. read more

She pointed out who our server was, who looked at us and walked away. We waited another 6 minutes, were not spoken to by anyone again so we got up and left. Their curry is amazing. If you like paying higher prices for tiny portions, this place is for you. $15.00 get's you about 3/4 cup portion size. Their sushi is NOT worth it. I decided to get some take out from Eastern Peak as it looked affordable online. I ordered the red curry. Upon pick up I immediately noticed how small of a portion it was. I paid $14.51 for a snack sized portion. The curry was bland which I found to be odd. Curry is usually bustling with flavor. My coworker was equally disappointed with her Sweet and Sour Chicken. We wish them the best, but it's not the vibe for us. My advice would be to go to Panda Express for cheap Chinese and Deg Thai or Smiling Elephant for flavorful Thai. read more

The pork was crispy yet tender and the flavors of the pasta went really well together. I didn't end up getting a drink but the options all the menu all sounded really good! The main dish had a nice mix of pineapple chunks, peppers, onions and cherry tomatoes. The sauce was a little runnier than I would have preferred, but its rich flavor profile made up for the watery consistency. The grilled chicken was alright -- a little rubbery, but not so much so that it took away from the dish. I'd probably order something else next time, but not because I was dissatisfied what what I ordered. The menu just had a lot of other enticing offerings. The service was fast and friendly, and I liked the simplistic decor and ambience of the restaurant. I look forward to my next visit. read more

My partner and I decided to grab an early dinner here before a movie just to try it out. While the food and service were decent we felt it was a little bit overpriced for what we received. We didn't even attempt to order sushi because of the price point. I ordered a pad thai and while everything tasted fresh, that was the extent of the flavor. I've been here a few times now. This place has changed since the early days. Very modern look and updated. The food had been always good but the prices have gone up a bit. They have a full bar with a variety of wines, beers and cocktails. They have sushi and a variety of different dishes. Noodles, fried rice, soups (the miso soups is really good) appetizers. I had the Basil fried rice and my friend had the drunken noodles, both with chicken. They both had really good flavor. They used to have pho but it's no longer on the menu. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and so was the other staff. We came on a Friday night before 7pm and it wasn't too crowded but by the time we left they had a small waiting line. I love the Eastern Peak at the Gulch location. Even the Bellevue location is great. I'm sad to say I was very disappointed by this Thompson Lane location. I highly recommend the Eastern Peak in the Gulch, always. I had a terrible experience at this Thompson Lane location. Not only was half of my order missing, but when I asked for the things I was missing I was told incorrect information. One of these things being that when I ordered extra ginger dressing there was no ginger dressing present and I asked the hostess. She proceeded to bring one for my salad. I told her I was a recurring guest and that wasn't extra. She insisted that if I wanted more I needed to pay when I had already purchased extra. The hostess did not want to deal with me at all. She just rolled her eyes and said that was extra. Whenever I called back later that evening the manager hung up on me. I chose not to call back and just never to go back to that location ever again. Not good business. The manager was a woman and this incident occurred last month in May. read more

Had it not been for Yelp, I would have never found it! But this fabulous eatery defies all the norms. It's not located in one of the pockets of notable restaurants, e.g., East Nashville, 12 South, Germantown, etc. It doesn't stand on a glamorous street corner in a shiny new development. It doesn't even serve one of Music City's staples like hot chicken, barbecue, or biscuits. What they do is execute a practically flawless menu of sushi and Thai cuisine. Fresh back from our vacation in Japan, we were in the mood for sushi on a Saturday afternoon. A quick search on Yelp identified The Eastern Peak as the place to go. So we went! We began with the Tsunami Roll, an impeccable concoction of crab and cream cheese that distinguished itself with a sensational eel sauce, deep fried tempura style! I could eat this every day for the rest of my life!!! The red curry beef was perhaps not be the absolute best in town, but I'd put it in my top 5! The quality was superb, the vegetables were fresh, and the sticky rice was excellent. I must return to try the crab rangoon, perhaps during happy hour. The interior is modern and clean and parking is a cinch. I would urge fans of Asian cuisine to visit The Eastern Peak ASAP!!! read more
