Eastern Tales Cafe is a cute casual little cafe that specializes in Thai Tea. I came here with three other people to hang out and check it out. It's been on my radar since they opened. They have various types of thai tea including ones without milk, their popular 4 type flight, and even thai tea desserts. I wanted to try either the Bangkok or the Phuket thai teas. Both are their main sellers. The nice girl behind the counter helped us choose which one was best for us. We decided to get their Phuket Thai Tea since the Bangkok was more like your typical thai tea you can get anywhere. The Phuket is more dark roast and is stronger. We got it 25% sweetness level and with oat milk instead. It was the perfect amount of sweetness but we wish it was creamier. The drink was a large cup and was strong of caffeine. The one girl working was super nice and answered all our questions. The problem was she was the only one working and there was a rush of people the entire time we were there. So our drink took awhile and we wanted to order desserts but it was just so busy so we just ended up leaving. But I really wanted to try their bingsu or thai tea basque cheesecake. Oh they they even had pandan cookies and other goodies pre-made to buy. The inside is very casual but they do have tables and chairs to sit and hang out.
Cute sweet & cafe place. Plenty of parking, clean and spacious but plain decor shop. Menu is with great choices to choose from. Staff are nice, friendly and helpful. You can adjust the sweetness to your liking which is fantastic cause most are too sweet for me. Drink (Thai tea) is great. Dessert is just perfect for the hot weather and the prices are not bad. Overall enjoyed the experience here.
I saw Eastern Tales Café when I was in this plaza for Momoyama but I was so full that day I didn't have room for dessert. I came back another time when I had some time to kill in the area. Staff seemed busy and needed a minute to take my order, which is fine because I needed time to look at their menu. I decided on the Thai Tea Flight ($9.95) for the most variety. I was ready to order another item to try but the conversation with staff wasn't very inspiring and the items they had in the case didn't look good. The Thai Tea shaved ice is probably the other thing I would have liked but they only had a large version of it. I seated myself as they prepared my order. They had a decent amount of tables inside. It can be a little loud from the other customers. Not a complaint, just an observation. When my order came out I was SO EXCITED. I was ready to try each one and take notes... Yikes... First one... too sweet... second one... too sweet... guess what? ALL TOO SWEET. I even gave it some time for the ice to water down the drink while I got some work done but it wasn't enough to make these drinks palatable. I also thought the teas were overly bitter, and I typically enjoy drinking tea. I know I've read other reviews that say good things about this place so I wonder if staff just made a really awful batch... but I can only write my review base on my personal experience. The ONLY thing I enjoyed here was the comfortable seating area for me to get some work done on my laptop. I actually think the pricing is really fair and affordable for the flight but that's pointless if I didn't want to finish drinking a single one. I returned the tray back the counter with the drinks fairly intact... No one asked me anything or else I would have been honest with my feedback. I clearly didn't like it... I am definitely not coming back.
A spot that specializes in everything thai tea - which is so cool & neat. I've tried drinks from here before because I ate at Manon in Fullerton & they serve the drinks there. We tried the shaved ice, the taro smoothie, the new matcha is pretty decent & the pandan toast. So unique! They also have thai snacks for purchase in front too with samples!
Wow! Cute Thai Cafe! I ordered the combo deal. Iced Orange Thai Tea Thai Tea Basque Burnt Cheesecake The Thai Tea drink was absolutely refreshing with interesting Orange flavor. The cheesecake tasted just like the classic Thai Tea. It is rich and creamy. The caramelized burnt on top was perfectly caramelized and you can taste the Thai Tea in this delicious cheesecake. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back and try other drinks and desserts. Highly recommend this spot.
I missed the turn on Brookhurst, so I pulled into the plaza to get back on track and noticed Eastern Tales! I had this place bookmarked back when they were operating out of a ghost kitchen, and I had no idea they'd opened a brick-and-mortar location. Such a nice little surprise from an unexpected detour. The store is clean and simple. Service was quick and friendly. I got the traditional Thai iced tea and the Thai tea brownie with cashew. There were lots of yummy looking items on the menu that I didn't get to try so I will have to come back. The Thai iced tea was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The brownie, on the other hand, exceeded my expectations. Loved the texture and it wasn't overly sweet.
My favorite Thai tea location! The second you step into the cafe, you're hit with the fresh scent of orange zest which pairs perfectly with their teas! Their Thai tea is always very fresh, and their refreshers are solid mixes and great non-dairy options! I also love the deserts here, and bring my friends whenever we want a cold, refreshing treat since they have bingsu, ice cream, and cheesecake! On top of their food and drinks, the interior is clean and comfortable! It's relatively quiet inside for a cafe, and there's wifi!
Cute little shop, the last time I was in this area I believe this used to be an acai bowl spot? But I'm so glad this is here now bc I tried their drinks once at a night market and loved it. Very friendly service, I believe there was only one person working at that time but it wasn't crowded Loved the thai tea bingsoo which was what we intended to come for and I like that they have refillable toppings to add on! Definitely would come back to try more of their drinks and other menu items

They are caffeinated so it's a good treat for morning or early afternoon. After that timeframe, your bed time will be later for sure. There's about five tables with chairs. Not a ton of space for groups. But most people are ordering to go. Employees are friendly and helpful answering questions. There is plenty of parking as they're located in a shopping center.
I stopped by Eastern Tales Cafe and tried their signature Thai tea bingsoo. It was interesting and a bit different from what I usually go for. The Thai tea flavor was there, but not very sweet. I think I just prefer bingsoo with fruit and the more traditional, sweeter toppings. This one wasn't really my style, but it was still nice to try something different.
A heaven for Thai tea fans! Their menu is a fun cornucopia of Thai tea variations. If you like bold, dark roasted tea, grab the Phuket Thai tea (my go-to.) If you prefer something sweet and creamy, grab the Bangkok Thai tea. For a fruity twist, try the Bangkok Breeze (ft lime and lychee - a yummy combo!) If you're still not sure, workers are happy to share samples and recs. I do wish that the Thai Tea Bingsu came with more coconut cream on top. It's a great option for sharing! There's plenty of parking, easy for a quick grab-and-go. Seating is limited, but very spacious and comfortable to lounge in. Can't wait to come back for my next sip :)

The gals here were so sweet and patient with our group today, incredible service! I saw the flight on TikTok and this was a great option for a chill afternoon. The interior is super cute (has a great photo op with angel wings) and comfortable couches. Plenty of parking in this plaza and near lots of other yummy restaurants. The flight came with 4 drinks: Phuket Thai Tea, Bangkok Thai Tea, Orange Thai Tea, and a butterfly pea (?) type tea. Our group loved the butterfly one the most, with the Phuket Thai Tea being a close second. We also tried the Thai Tea basque cheesecake which was super light and not too sweet. I would definitely order this dessert again. 100% reccomend supporting this local business for some delicious and authentic Thai flavors!

Came in today around 12. Thai Tea tasted good but, I ordered the Thai Tea with boba. When I left, I realized they had given me crystal boba instead? My guess is they hadn't made any that morning... but either way I think I should have been notified because I did pay for the topping. They had a free sample table at the door but it just had several empty plastic containers with crumbs- The trash can had milk and tea splatters all over the top of the can. The employee also had no uniform or plain t shirt. Hopefully it was just an off day. read more
This cafe is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. They specialize in Thai tea and has a variety of different mixes of Thai tea from traditional Thai tea to taro Thai tea. They also have Thai tea bingsoo and Thai tea Basque cheesecake. When I walked into the café, it looked clean. However, the staff did not seem particularly welcoming and seemed to just be doing her job, which was okay to. I ordered the strawberry serenade and thought it was okay. It didn't have a strong strawberry flavor or a strong Thai tea flavor. In a way it was kind of bland. I did try my friend's taro Thai tea and thought that one tasted better. It had a good balance of taro and Thai tea flavor and the sweetness level was good. I think if you're a Thai tea lover, this would be a good place to try some different versions of it. read more

A nice little stop with various Thai teas and treats. It was my first time there so I decided on their original blend. They also offered a free scoop of their Thai tea ice cream if I checked in. The tea was quite good, not too overly sweet, with a proper amount of condensed milk to cream things up. The ice cream was ok, since it's tea based it's kinda icy, and given it's the same flavor as the drink it's probably not the best item to get when drinking their signature tea. Still, it's pretty good, and very nice of them to offer. :) The service was good, it was only one person so hopefully the other was on lunch since it was slow, because if that place started to load up it would have quickly became an issue. She was putting in the work though. The ambiance is that of a small tea house. Clean colors, open ceiling concept, sparse wall elements. You know the vibe. Note: There's a good amount of caffeine in the tea, or maybe it was just me, but I left buzzing good - just be thoughtful. ;) read more

This is a great tea shop known for their Thai tea. They've got two different types of Thai tea - Bangkok Thai tea is the one you're probably used to and Phuket Thai tea is more caffeinated and sweeter and tastes very different. I got the Bangkok Thai tea with their house made Coco whip (coconut flavored whip cream). Also tried their strawberry ice cream, which was super fluffy. If it's your first time here, I recommend trying the sampler with a group. It comes with ther different thai teas and brownies. Service was great and the spot is a great place to hang and chat with friends. read more
This place is still kind of new-ish. So I'm hoping service gets a little faster once staff gets the hang of things. Came here as soon as they opened on a Saturday morning They have private parking and they have some outdoor seating. (This place also says it's pet friendly) The door was open even though they didn't open for a few more minutes. The lady working here let us come in and look over the menu while she finished setting up We ordered -tea flight -strawberry Serenade (delicious, very sweet. But I personally prefer it that way. I also added boba) -Thai Tea Bingsu -Thai Tea Brownie The drink and tea flight came out fast. But the other two items came out very slow. She even forgot the brownie we ordered. But after saying something to her it came out in 10 or so minutes Out of everything, the strawberry serenade was my favorite. And who can resist a drink flight? Nobody! I love getting a little variety of drinks and plus it's easy on the eyes. I also liked the set up of the shaved ice. It came with a couple different toppings you put on yourself and a sauce. Personally, my favorite part was the ice cream in the middle. I wish there was more of it There was a good amount of seating in here and the bathroom was clean. This place got PACKED! And there was still just one worker. I definitely think there needs to be more staff. After reading a few reviews it looked like a lot of people had a bad experience with the staff and it taking a long time Everything about this place was fine. The dessert was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The crispy, fluffy topping was light and fragrant, and the creamy coconut sauce with almonds added the perfect touch of richness. The chewy boba was also really good and not overly sweet. The portion was generous, and everything came together so well. Definitely worth trying! read more

Wow if you like Thai Tea... this is the place to be! There are plenty of Thai tea variations (milk and tea based). There's cookies and other snacks but i went straight in for the shaved ice. My boyfriend didn't feel like the Thai tea flavor came through very well in the ice but i thought it did and i loved it! Not a huge fan of the lychee Thai tea - felt the lychee syrup was a bit perfumy but i lovedddd the traditional Thai tea - that came out super strong. Can't wait to try out the rest! Phuket Thai tea latte is their more tea heavy version while the Bangkok is on the milkier side. So order based on your preference! Nice side note: they let you sample which was soooooooo helpful! Chewing boba was a little too soft for my liking. Wish it was a little firmer read more
After opening for 3 months, it still takes over 20 min to get one single shaved ice. There were 2 parties before me. I just can't believe this! I will not come back. I should have walked out when one of the 2 parties already complained that they waited 20 minutes before me. Importantly, I ordered the coconut shaved ice with salted egg sauce. I love salted egg anything. But they didn't have it! The thai tea shaved ice had a bit of boba, a bit of whipped cream, a bit of coconut in it. I would rather go eat shaved ice in Thai town. Eastern Tales Cafe is a must try spot serving up some Thai drinks and desserts. They are located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a nice and modern interior with about 5-6 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a great selection of different milk teas, fruit teas, matcha, and desserts to choose from. I got the Phuket Thai Tea and wifey got the Thai Tea Bingsu Cup. My drink had a deep and rich roasty flavor that I enjoyed and the bingsu was super tasty with different layers of goodness. Overall, this spot is definitely serving up some of the best Thai tea in OC and beyond! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I know some places makes their thai tea really sweet. They offer samples too for you to try their thai tea Drinks. Service is great and staff is really friendly. Offers more than just Thai tea drinks. Love the different dessert options. This use to be Vitacane Sugar Cane drink shop. Really clean shop with lots of tables and seatings indoor. A few patio/chairs right outside the Tea Shop. Came on a Saturday night around 9 pm. Located in a really busy plaza Fountain Valley Square next to California Shabu Shabu & Crumbl cookie. read more
I think we came during soft opening, but the desserts were delicious and we had a great experience! Thai tea bingsu with coconut whipp: Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but the dessert itself is sooooo delicious!!! I love the texture of the snow, and they really nailed the thai tea flavor. The boba on the side was fresh, and perfectly chewy and sweetened. I believe there was also ice cream underneath the snow, as well as grass jelly. However, the coldness of the dessert hardened the grass jelly on the bottom, haha. Otherwise, this dessert is literally perfection! Thai tea basque burnt cheesecake: I love thai tea and I love cheesecake, so obviously, I loved this dessert as well. Great texture, smooth and a little crumbly. Surprisingly not as heavy as I thought it was going to be. Also, not too sweet! I would definitely get it again. Service was quick and friendly, and there's several tables inside to enjoy your desserts. This place is a great addition to the OC dessert scene! read more

Tried the thai tea flight and it was yummy. It came with the Bangkok, Lychee Lime, Phuket, and Thai Lemon. All were good but Thai Lemon was my favorite one. Next time will be coming back to try the thai tea shaved ice and cheesecake! read more

It is refreshing, not too sweet and is served with boba, coconut ice cream and condensed milk in the side. The portion is hugh so be ready to share with 2-3 people. The staff are nice and helpful. TLDR: If you like Thai tea, then you'll love this place. They're a creative bunch that takes your local favorites and adds their own twist. It's a place that I'll always recommend to friends and will always be a place at the back of my mind when needing dessert. Thai Tea Bingsu: Briefly? It's great. Their Thai tea is already very good. The reason why you want bingsu is because liquid won't cut it, and you want something solid that melts in your mouth. This is their solution that answers that specific request without sacrificing the quality of taste. You expect Thai tea to have boba, but this one comes with boba. The coconut whipped cream is a part of their drink, so they threw that in there too. Now the challenging part, adding body to the bingsu. Can I interest you with vanilla ice cream hidden inside and grass jelly for a different texture? Top that off with a garnish of coconut shavings and almonds, and I think I found a dessert that is worth hyping up for. I think this flirts with a $13 price point so it's definitely a for sharing type of dessert, but I think it's soloable during days when you need to reward yourself. Service: We went during closing time, so it's just a case of waiting for the lady to make the bingsu and leaving to have her close up. I felt bad since I'm sure she had to clean up again after we left, which probably extended her shift by 20-30 minutes. Ambiance: It's a small ish shop that fits the vibe of any boba establishment. thai tea lover here!! and so bummed that my experience just was not it. 0 - service. not sure if the gal was having an off day but no, this was unacceptable. no greeting upon entering, i waited a minimum of 5 mins before she came to the register. no apology , i asked about the tea flight, do i get to pick, she said no. she wasnt even willing to tell me which flavors are included. then i follow up with, what flavors are in the flight, she ran through the flavors so fast, idk what i got. but i ordered the tea flight , thai tea and lychee thai tea. i was so taken back with the girl's attitude, after ordering, i noticed they have two different thai teas: bangkok or phuket. i had to go to some of the reviews to catch what was in the flight: phuket, bangkok, bangkok breeze and lemon thai tea. tbh, i think the phuket and bangkok thai tea that were supposed to be in my flight, it was only one of them poured twice. bc they tasted the exact same and the color was the same. my fave tho was the bangkok breeze. i cant tell you the thai tea i ordered bc i dont even know which one i got LOL, but it was good!! it seemed like she was the only one working, but then i spotted another girl working. she was more pleasant. cute shop and good drinks. seating avail inside and out. parking; no issues. plenty of parking. read more

It was my first time trying their drinks and they were so good!! My best friend got the lychee thai tea and I got the Bangkok with coco whip (I believe?) Both were great drinks. The café was also very clean and had some cute decor for photo ops. The girls working were also very sweet and accommodating, give it a try!!! read more

Stopped by for some dessert after dinner. We ordered one of the Thai tea sand the Thai tea bingsu. Free scoop of Thai tea ice cream with Yelp check in! read more
