Chilla Matcha - i like my matcha less sweet so adjusting sweetness to 75% was perfect for me; highly recommend keeping it at 100% if you like yours a bit sweeter! their matcha is on the stronger side, the "chewy matcha top" is just thickened matcha with a stretchy consistency, almost like mochi but not quite as thick. it adds an interesting texture and is really good! matcha is smooth and balanced, highly recommend! Cute, colorful but small inside space with limited seating. There's two small tables with some seatings + a 2-seat couch, some outlets near both seating area. Service quick and friendly. Parking free and easy.

Love love their Chilla Mocha Latte Deo. It's so so good. Was in the area for breakfast and saw this place. Stopped by and checked it out since in needed for some matcha & caffeinated. The place is clean and VN street set up like...small low chairs & tables both outside and inside plus sort of funky 80s like. It's clean and easy to find parking. Small menu and you can ordered through kiosk or if you want to pay in cash, then cashier it is. There are some pastries and snacks but was here for the matcha latte. Down to earth & friendly service. Take abit for turnaround but since I got nothing to do therefore why not...once I got my drink, first sipped was wondering what or how it taste and slowly, I enjoyed it more then I would like. It's smooth, not to sweet and tasty and something about it that just make me continually sip it til 2/3 of the way....yup, it was great.

I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. It was great. I love that they had strawberry jelly or jam lining the inside of the cup to up the amount of strawberry in the drink. I used the kiosk at the counter to order. Super easy and quick to use. My drink arrived quickly. It's a cute space with modern decor.

This place is so cute! Matcha and coffee were both delicious. Had the coconut cream coffee with less sweet and it was perfect. Cream puffs were too cute to eat but I still ate it. Had the salted egg cream puff and it was delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out. Only downside is the parking since it's in a very busy plaza. They do a dedicated spot outside.

This is one of my top matchas of 2026 omg. We came on a Wednesday morning and the cafe was empty but it was sooo cute inside. The have these adorable cream puffs (which we didn't end up getting but looked super good) and decorations for the year of the horse. There are two small tables so I wouldn't say it's a great study spot but is def a good option to sit and talk with friends! I got a matcha latte and my friend got the dirty matcha. First win was oat milk default!! My matcha ended up being $6.52 with tax and it was so worth. The matcha was perfectly sweet, creamy, and so strong. My friend also really liked her matcha since the Oreo flavor was strong but she could still taste the matcha flavor. Overall, 10/10 would recommend :) Ratings Matcha latte: 5/5 Dirty matcha: 5/5

Chilla matcha and Vietnamese cocktail vibes

I love that they take their customer's suggestions into consideration and actually make changes to be better than they already are. - Chilla matcha: strong matcha flavor, not overly sweet, and fun texture from kem deo. My go to always. - Vietnamese cocktail vibes: very refreshing, & has all my favorite toppings. - Salted egg sponge cake: a mix of sweet and salty that keeps me coming back for more everytime. Loved!

Chilla matcha is SO SO GOOD! Probably one of my favorite matcha drinks I've ever tried. Chilla matcha: matcha latte. When you take a sip you get small bites of cream (?) that tastes delicious. The taste is perfect along with the sweetness. I would get no to little ice next time. Cheese choux: really good. Not much sweetness. Love the texture. I would have liked for it to be slightly sweeter so it tastes like the salted cream cheese you get on top of boba Custard choux: good but more liquidy. I would get a combination of this with the cheese. Salted egg cake: unique and perfect balance of sweetness and savory. I would crave this but would get it if I want something "healthy" sweet. Service and ambience: friendly and nice vibes inside. Good to catch up with 1-2 friends here.

Cute cafe with pretty limited seating. The parking lot was also pretty packed and my friend had to park in the nearby neighborhood Marble coffee: 4/5 I thought it was pretty good but nothing crazy. Def would recommend if you prefer lighter coffee I also tried my friend's strawberry matcha which I thought was pretty good because it was sweet and I mostly tasted strawberry then a bit of a matcha aftertaste

Animal puffs set the target for this stop. Chillà Coffee was a recent entry on my list of new spots to hit. If I'm showing up, coffee is usually the reason. This time, sinking my teeth into reindeer puffs was the mission. The outside is modest and unassuming, letting what's inside do the talking. As you step in, you'll notice very limited seating. Four seats and a table to the right, and a nap-time futon to the left. When we arrived, the chairs were already claimed, which left us standing and reevaluating our life choices. We gave the futon a try, which put us roughly five inches from the floor, balancing coffee, pastry, and spatial awareness. In reality, most of the eating and drinking happened while standing. Let's just say I wasn't digging it. CHILLÀ CAFÉ (CÀ PHÊ KEM DẺO) Chewy, rich topping with a well-balanced base. Excellent overall. COCONUT CREAM COFFEE (CÀ PHÊ KEM DỪA) Smooth and easy with a noticeable coconut finish. Overall above average. BITE-SIZE CRACKERS Light and crunchy, with what seems like a very faint coffee flavor, if any. More of a subtle snack than a standout. BÁNH MÌ QUE PATE CHÀ BÔNG This was the worst bánh mì we've had. The bread was dry, stale, and unpleasant enough that my friend and I couldn't even palate the first bite. ANIMAL PUFFS Chose custard and chocolate filling, both were solid, with other fillings also available. The unique crispy shell was the standout, adding a nice textural contrast and making it an overall balanced puff. Service was super friendly and accommodating. We liked the reindeer puffs enough to ask about other animals and fillings, but they were only offering one option that day. They later surprised us with a custard-filled bear puff on the house, which was a nice touch. Is this a cute spot? Yes. Was it cozy or comfortable? Not by a long shot. Despite the epic miss on the bánh mì, and because I don't like dinging a new business for something that can be easily corrected, what's inside still does enough talking to justify another visit. I was absolutely eyeballing the other pastries. Note: Hopefully they offer more seating in the future, before the futon gets too much attention.

Such a cute new cafe in Garden Grove! The cafe itself is really small and only has two tables to sit at but there is really cute decor and low seats and small low couch to chill on. They offer a variety of Vietnamese coffee, matcha, and cute pastries! I especially loved their Chilla Matcha which had a rich taste of matcha and a silky mochi-like textured cream in the drink. I got my drink 25% sweet and it was the perfect sweetness, and surprisingly still on the sweeter side for me. The matcha drinks come with oat milk by default. I would recommend getting drinks less sweet if you don't like it too sweet. My friends tried their corn matcha and strawberry matcha and they enjoyed both! Overall a super cute spot to get drinks to go with good matcha drinks and a variety of coffee drinks.

Stopped by Chilla Coffee to grab a quick drink before dinner. The interior was definitely interesting, it honestly felt like hanging out in someone's bedroom, which was kind of cozy but also a little unusual. There was also a slightly funky smell when we first walked in. My friends and I tried a range of drinks, including coffee, matcha, and a few of their specialty options. Overall, the drinks were extremely thick and very sweet. The salted egg drink in particular was... intense. It honestly felt like drinking a blended custard bun, which was a bit weird. The matcha was probably the best of what we tried, but it was still thicker than I prefer. On the brighter side, their cream puffs were actually pretty good and ended up being the highlight. The custard wasn't overly sweet, and the pastry was nicely crispy on the outside.

    Christine B.

Have made my way back to Chilla and I think that they do deserve an updated review! They've improved with adding the option for online ordering - which makes the experience much better - an in and out. You have the ability to customize your drink as well. Drinks have been consistent and tasty - a new favorite is the Coco Cream coffee. Parking lot is still a mess unfortunately, so still take caution while getting your drink!

    Julia V.

I am honestly a sucker for cute cafes. Especially cute cafes with cute pastries :') the workers were so nice! The decor inside is such a cool vibe! We ordered the strawberry matcha and the banana matcha, both were so yum! And the turtle cream puffs were amazing. We got the matcha cream and the custard SO YUM. I ended up getting a box of mixed flavors after but the custard was probably my fave

Cute vibes and a ramen bar!

Got the dry seafood noodles, beef stew noodles and deep fried dumplings. The dumplings were alright, it's basically deep fried wonton with pork and shrimp. My usual dry seafood noodles was scrumptious and side soup was packed with lots of seafood. I typically add a load of red vinegar to give a good tang. The beef stew was also really good and meat was tender except the tendon, there's 3 level of spicy however level 1 mild is still very spicy especially for people who don't usually eat spicy.

Mai Phat still exceeded them! It has since become our go-to lunch spot, as well as a local favorite for my wife's family. They specialize in egg noodles - served either dry (with broth and main protein on the side) or wet like a conventional soup bowl. My personal go-to is the dry mì sủi cảo - egg noodles with sliced / ground pork, huge wonton dumplings, a shrimp cracker, and broth on the side. The wontons come in a super rich and delicious sauce that I actually got scolded for pouring over my noodles lol. The light and clear broth is very refreshing and well-seasoned. Excellent mix of perfectly balanced flavors from every component. Add chili crisp for extra oomph. My wife loves the mì gà quay - fried chicken leg & thigh with the signature egg noodles. This is honestly one of the most perfectly seasoned and cooked fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of fried chicken. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive Highly recommend Mai Phat for hearty, expertly crafted, and relatively guilt free Vietnamese comfort food

This is a type of life where you eat and leave as quickly because it's a no-frills no ambience type of place. That's fine with me except it was pretty hot. They charge you a dollar for a little tiny paper cup of water. I ordered the number one since this is their specialty or what they're known for. My mom had the bun thit nuong cha gio. My noodle soup had a good amount of crab pieces and shrimp. It seemed like there was not a lot of noodles though. I thought the broth was a little bland. I guess I'm just not a big fan of this type of soup. If there is a next time, I'll try the bun rieu. My mother was not that crazy about her dish. She said she didn't really like the egg rolls that much. For the price, the wait and the taste of the food, I likely will not be returning when there are so many other places in the area. I try to support various mom and pop restaurants, but for the previous stated reasons, I don't think we'll be back.
