Super cute cozy place. I love the decorations. There are some seating not meant for large groups though. Located in a small plaza so parking can be difficult. The server was friendly and helpful. Our drinks were good. My Chilla Matcha (50% sweet) was creamy and I could taste the matcha. My hubby liked his Coconut Cream Coffee. It hit the spot for him. LOCATION: Westminster/Brookhurst PARKING: Small lot * There are a few unhoused people in the area/plaza who genuinely seem harmless. Just be smart and careful! WHAT WE ORDERED: * Matcha Einspanner (usually $7.50) * Secret Matcha (usually $7.50) The inside of Chilla is soooo cute and cozy! The decor is so fun -- a lot of Asian/Vietnamese art! There isn't much inside seating, and the shop is rather small. We went for the 2-for-$8 drink deal (honestly, a steal in this economy). The matcha einspanner was green and creamy. The first few sips were delicious. I thought the secret matcha was a secret menu, but it's not. It's a mulberry matcha with a Biscoff cookie at the top. I love mulberries, and there aren't many cafes that offer mulberry-flavored matcha, so this was definitely new and interesting! Initially, you get a taste of the mulberry, and the matcha is subtle. I honestly didn't taste the matcha too much. As the drink begins to dilute, the Biscoff cookie melts, and you get this delicious mix of all three flavors. I was craving for matcha and my usual place is Taty's or Junbi but since we live super close to this location why not give it a try since the reviews were amazing right? No , wrong! I like my matcha less sweet so I can taste the matcha flavor but we got the matcha einspanner for almost $9 for a regular it must be good but nope all I tasted was milk. I was feeling hopeful so I shook and stirred the bottom to the top Of the matcha . Still tasted like milk. I was thinking maybe I can return to try a different drink but if the matcha is not good most likely the rest of the drinks are not worth $8-9 for a regular sized milky a** drink. This is solely based on their secret matcha drink. They have a promotion about 2 weeks ago BOGO so we give it a try. This place take over the old Almond Haus. They have about two tables for sitting. I do love the decor. The service was a little slow, take awhile for our drink. In term of the drink, the boysenberry jam was overpowering the matcha. Since there also milk in the drink, it water down the matcha flavor as well. If you a fan of boysenberry or prefer sweet drink, this is for you. I like matcha so this drink is not for me. The cutest shop with the best marble coffee in the county. Parking was a hassle but 1000% worth it. Small shop with some seating inside but the inside was SO cute. We ordered and received our drinks in about 10 minutes, there was no line for a Saturday afternoon which I felt very grateful for. Perfect zero notes, best in OC hands down, on the sweeter side and the coffee was roasted perfectly, the chewy coffee cream is a great addition if you want a stronger coffee flavor. Chilla Matcha - i like my matcha less sweet so adjusting sweetness to 75% was perfect for me; highly recommend keeping it at 100% if you like yours a bit sweeter! their matcha is on the stronger side, the "chewy matcha top" is just thickened matcha with a stretchy consistency, almost like mochi but not quite as thick. it adds an interesting texture and is really good! matcha is smooth and balanced, highly recommend! A small little coffee/tea spot with special crafted drinks. I was impressed with the drink quality wasn't expecting much but came out great I got the chilla matcha with 25% sweet and it was good for me with the matcha foam making it a strong matcha latte. I also got the egg yolk cream puff which was delicious. You can tell they drinks and snacks are carefully crafted and not those ready to make places. I'd be back and try the other drinks. This is one of my top matchas of 2026 omg. We came on a Wednesday morning and the cafe was empty but it was sooo cute inside. The have these adorable cream puffs (which we didn't end up getting but looked super good) and decorations for the year of the horse. There are two small tables so I wouldn't say it's a great study spot but is def a good option to sit and talk with friends! I got a matcha latte and my friend got the dirty matcha. First win was oat milk default!! My matcha ended up being $6.52 with tax and it was so worth. The matcha was perfectly sweet, creamy, and so strong. My friend also really liked her matcha since the Oreo flavor was strong but she could still taste the matcha flavor. The place is clean and VN street set up like...small low chairs & tables both outside and inside plus sort of funky 80s like. It's clean and easy to find parking. Small menu and you can ordered through kiosk or if you want to pay in cash, then cashier it is. There are some pastries and snacks but was here for the matcha latte. Down to earth & friendly service. Take abit for turnaround but since I got nothing to do therefore why not...once I got my drink, first sipped was wondering what or how it taste and slowly, I enjoyed it more then I would like. Chilla matcha is SO SO GOOD! Probably one of my favorite matcha drinks I've ever tried. Chilla matcha: matcha latte. When you take a sip you get small bites of cream (?) that tastes delicious. The taste is perfect along with the sweetness. I would get no to little ice next time. Cheese choux: really good. Not much sweetness. Love the texture. I would have liked for it to be slightly sweeter so it tastes like the salted cream cheese you get on top of boba Custard choux: good but more liquidy. I would get a combination of this with the cheese. Salted egg cake: unique and perfect balance of sweetness and savory. I would crave this but would get it if I want something "healthy" sweet. Animal puffs set the target for this stop. Chillà Coffee was a recent entry on my list of new spots to hit. If I'm showing up, coffee is usually the reason. This time, sinking my teeth into reindeer puffs was the mission. The outside is modest and unassuming, letting what's inside do the talking. As you step in, you'll notice very limited seating. Four seats and a table to the right, and a nap-time futon to the left. When we arrived, the chairs were already claimed, which left us standing and reevaluating our life choices. We gave the futon a try, which put us roughly five inches from the floor, balancing coffee, pastry, and spatial awareness. In reality, most of the eating and drinking happened while standing. Let's just say I wasn't digging it. CHILLÀ CAFÉ (CÀ PHÊ KEM DẺO) Chewy, rich topping with a well-balanced base. Excellent overall. COCONUT CREAM COFFEE (CÀ PHÊ KEM DỪA) Smooth and easy with a noticeable coconut finish. Overall above average. BITE-SIZE CRACKERS Light and crunchy, with what seems like a very faint coffee flavor, if any. More of a subtle snack than a standout. BÁNH MÌ QUE PATE CHÀ BÔNG This was the worst bánh mì we've had. The bread was dry, stale, and unpleasant enough that my friend and I couldn't even palate the first bite. ANIMAL PUFFS Chose custard and chocolate filling, both were solid, with other fillings also available. The unique crispy shell was the standout, adding a nice textural contrast and making it an overall balanced puff. Service was super friendly and accommodating. We liked the reindeer puffs enough to ask about other animals and fillings, but they were only offering one option that day. They later surprised us with a custard-filled bear puff on the house, which was a nice touch. Is this a cute spot? Yes. Was it cozy or comfortable? Not by a long shot. Despite the epic miss on the bánh mì, and because I don't like dinging a new business for something that can be easily corrected, what's inside still does enough talking to justify another visit. I was absolutely eyeballing the other pastries. Note: Hopefully they offer more seating in the future, before the futon gets too much attention. read more

Such a cute new cafe in Garden Grove! The cafe itself is really small and only has two tables to sit at but there is really cute decor and low seats and small low couch to chill on. They offer a variety of Vietnamese coffee, matcha, and cute pastries! I especially loved their Chilla Matcha which had a rich taste of matcha and a silky mochi-like textured cream in the drink. I got my drink 25% sweet and it was the perfect sweetness, and surprisingly still on the sweeter side for me. The matcha drinks come with oat milk by default. I would recommend getting drinks less sweet if you don't like it too sweet. My friends tried their corn matcha and strawberry matcha and they enjoyed both! There was also a slightly funky smell when we first walked in. My friends and I tried a range of drinks, including coffee, matcha, and a few of their specialty options. Overall, the drinks were extremely thick and very sweet. The salted egg drink in particular was... intense. It honestly felt like drinking a blended custard bun, which was a bit weird. The matcha was probably the best of what we tried, but it was still thicker than I prefer. On the brighter side, their cream puffs were actually pretty good and ended up being the highlight. One of the many new and trending spots opening in the booming market of coffee and tea, and THEY STAND OUT! Chilla coffee is a little spot that took over the old Almond Haus. I have been here a few times, tried a few drinks, flan and pastries. The pastries and the matcha were ok, not at the top of my list. The flan was pretty good. What makes up for everything else is the Chilla Coffee. The star of the show is the Chilla Coffee. I crave it and can't get it off of my mind! It's a unique coffee, a strong bitter coffee with a layering of a gooey sweet cream. I don't know how they make the cream but it's amazing. The flavors and textures create likely one of the best coffees I've ever had. Service is pretty nice, quick and straightforward. Pricing is comparable to competitors ($7.61). They have a couple of tables and a couch, pretty cozy vibes. Parking is a little rough, it is busy in this lot! They do have a designated parking spot for their shop, you'll get it if you're lucky. NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Came here for the chewy matcha latte going viral in Vietnam right now, along with their turtle cream puffs. I got one of every flavor (cocoa, cheese, durian, salted egg yolk, custard, matcha) and a chilla matcha for a little less than $30. The chilla matcha is good. I wish it came with more of the "chewy matcha" topping, but that's okay. It wasn't super thick which was a bummer, I wish it was almost like mochi but it resembled more of a paste! And it wasn't overly sweet either. The matcha was just right, and I love that the ice they use is that small pebble ice. They upsold me on getting the pannacotta balls, which genuinely were not special and just tasted like jello with the tiniest hint of pannacotta. Pass on this. The turtle cream puffs are SO CUTE!! Unfortunately if you're buying more than one they don't label which is which. My favorites were the cocoa (tasted like chocolate pudding), cheese (reminiscent of cream cheese, like a cheesecake filling almost!) and durian (very creamy and sweet in the best way). The custard cream puff tasted like nothing, and the salted egg yolk was a little too salty for me! It tasted exactly like the salted egg yolk from a moon cake but in cream form, which was unfortunately a bit too much for me. I'd say an acquired taste. The matcha was just okay, nothing special. The texture of the cream puffs is a soft bread topped with a crumbly sugar top, similar to a concha almost. The cream inside all of the puffs were very consistent, smooth texture and even distribution of flavor throughout the puff. If I absolutely had to pick just one to get again I'd most likely get the durian, but otherwise I would pass as I didn't feel like they were anything mindblowing. Very cute though! read more
