Such a great breakfast/brunch spot for a sunny Sunday mid-morning. Eat Chow is cute & comfortable, the food is great, servers are kind, parking is (for the most part) solid -- overall, they hit most of the marks! I've been a small handful of times with my boyfriend but the meal from our most recent visit stuck out the most to me, hence my review. Though it was brunch time on a Sunday, we were sat in about 20 minutes (I don't think we've ever waited longer than 30) -- there's a solid amount of seating outside if you'd like to wait but can get filled out because this place pops off (and for fairly good reason) Once we were seated, we ordered the Truffle Parmesan Fries ($12) with a side of Chipotle Aioli ($0.75) -- always a good choice, we love a shoestring fry! I ordered the BBQ Breakfast Tacos ($16) & Corazon Margarita ($14) while my boyfriend ordered the Chow Benedict ($16), Double Espresso ($3.50), & Cookie Butter Cold Foam Cold Brew ($7) (both of our orders came with potatoes. They really, really know what they're doing with a potato, perfect amount of crisp & squish!) His Benedict was pretty good, they know how to do a hollandaise well & the ham was pretty enjoyable (I always go for a Salmon Benedict myself but this was pretty solid) The Cookie Butter Cold Foam Cold Brew was super enjoyable to him and pretty good to me, he's the coffee connoisseur so he knows way more than I do, I'd say his good review is trustworthy! As for the Corazon Margarita, it was fine. It honestly felt like it lacked a bit of flavor but it was very pretty, great for photos. Additionally, our server actually misheard me & brought the Corazon Mimosa out originally. Getting a free drink because the house made an error is always a great time but unfortunately, it was a bit too syrup-y for my liking! I think next time I'll just opt for the Espresso Martini ($14) that it looked like many people were enjoying. The star of the show was absolutely the BBQ Breakfast Tacos, hands down without a doubt. That Japanese BBQ sauce??? Out of this world. The bacon & goat cheese? Phenomenal. I would come back solely for these tacos, I was genuinely sad when I felt myself getting full & realized that I couldn't finish them all. Get them, trust me, TRUST ME! Overall, they get 4 stars because I love the atmosphere & the tacos were bomb but I feel like every time I come here, I'm disappointed by the drinks I get and the service is ~almost~ there -- super kind staff all around but I feel like I always have to wear a sign to get my server's attention. This was a cute little spot in Newport that my husband found. It's pretty pricy, but I guess that's Newport for you. We tried the Warm Curry Chicken Salad, Cheesy tots, Smokey grilled shrimp Tacos, crispy tinga chicken tacos, crispy beef tacos, and Baja style fish tacos. The salad sounded really good, but I ended up not really liking it. I thought I'd try something new today, so that's the only reason I got it. Normally, I like curry, but I realized it's not great as a salad. I also discovered I'm not a fan of warm salad after all. Lesson learned. It was good, but I wouldn't order it again. We ordered the cheesy tots for my son and it was DELICIOUS. Me and my husband were finishing it off for him. I loved how cheesy it was, especially with the bacon bits topped on top... it was fire. All the tacos were so good. The crispy tinga chicken was probably my husband's favorite out of all of them. Overall, great service. It was my second time coming and I had a great experience! Our server Amanda was very attentive and when we told her the truffle parmesan fries didnt taste much like truffle, she took it back to the kitchen to make sure it had more flavor. On top of that she refilled the fries too. I definitely recommend the fries! The Chow Burger was pretty decent - not the most amazing burger I've had but the salad that came with it was tossed very well with the dressing. Food, service and ambiance scored high! Someone told me about the truffle parmesan fries and I am so glad I tried it cause it wasn't an ordinary fries once you start eating you can't stop. I guess I've finally realized that you have to focus on the Mexican breakfast dishes here. That is where they excel. Whereas their American breakfast dishes are hit or miss (see my previous reviews). The Spicy Chorizo Hash is great. I get it with poached eggs so that I can break them over the whole dish nicely. Also it comes with small diced Kennebec potatoes which are nice and tender. From now on I'll always ask for these potatoes to come with my other breakfast dishes, because these are way better than their default breakfast potatoes. Came here for the first time today with my husband and everything from atmosphere, service, and food was great phenomenal. Our waitress was D and she was awesome. Really took her time to explain the menu to us and also brought us one of their most popular appetizers (cauliflower). She was also handling about 10 tables herself and never once was short or forgot about us. She needs a raise! Husband had the tenderloin tacos and I had the Cuban sandwich, both FANTASTIC. Takeout is better than dining in. When you dine in they really try to rush you out of there so they can move on to the next customer quickly. You won't be able to take your time and have a convo. Expensive due to it's location. For the price they should include utensils and napkins and basic condiments that go with the food without you asking. Good coffees and breakfast/brunch dishes and salads. Mexican food wasn't that good but other lunch/dinner dishes there were good. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Stumbled across Eat Chow while waiting for dogs to finish grooming. I must say overall I enjoyed my experience here. The food came out hot and fresh. I ended up getting the French toast combo (substituted Lemon Mascarpone French Toast for the regular French toast). While I expected the French toast to be the star of the meal, it tasted like it was missing something and I actually expected it to have a bit more sweetness to it considering the ingredients. I actually preferred the sides than the French toast. The most surprising part of the meal for me was the breakfast beer which I thought was very good. I was a little apprehensive to order "beer" for breakfast but I'm glad I did because it was the perfect blend of grapefruit juice taste with just enough of that beer kick. We ordered the grilled shrimp, the crispy cauliflower, the beer battered onion rings, and the panko crusted chicken salad. We had to make some modifications, since I cannot eat spicy food. The churro French toast was surprisingly delicious we were worried it would be super sweet. It was pretty sugary given it was a churro French toast but it was balanced it with a savory item that we ordered from their menu. The chilaquiles were good but not the best we've had. It's a big portion so it is definitely shareable. We ordered their cold brew with salted cold foam on top. It is one the best cold brews I've had in a while and would definitely come back in the future to try their other cold brews with cold foam! The service was great and they were quick, we didn't have to wait too long like a lot of brunch places in OC. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor area is pet friendly. They have a nice set up and seating outside where you can enjoy your food. The staff (hostess & waitress/waiter) were all very nice and had an enthusiastic mood to all of them.
