We've been back to this place quite often since my last review and I have to say that it got even better! I love the atmosphere and service here. The small plates are all amazing and so much fun to share...they give you more than enough on each plate so you can order a few and everyone will have a generous portion! We also love the drinks here. The bartenders truly know their stuff. If there is something that you want that is not on the menu, just ask and they will make it. I love the bar area but also the tables are so comfortable and spaced out enough that you really do have a lot of privacy. The owner is also awesome and remembers us every time we eat there, our servers do too! Overall, this restaurant is one of our favorites and consistently excellent!

This is one of the best restaurants on Long Island, and certainly the best around the area. Espresso Martini is elite, all the dishes are tasty and fairly priced, the ambiance is amazing, and the service is ALWAYS swift and friendly. Aside from the heavenly Espresso Martini, the steak + cheese is always a great option, as is all of their pasta dishes and the fries are INSANE! They're owned by a wonderful family. 10/10 would recommend.

Came with some friends for a light dinner. We got to sit at the window in the cool couches, which was a nice casual setting for us to visit and enjoy some food. Our server was very attentive and patient with us as we took forever to figure out what we wanted to order! Spouse got the tuna tataki and loved it, and I got the shrimp skewer with rice which was also very good. Nicely-portioned small plates for a light dinner. We had a nice time here and will very likely will return!

Nice atmosphere, nice bar area and large menu. Creative options but nothing vegan except garden penne on the menu which is overpriced. Wish they had beyond meat burgers or tacos or some other options. Cool beers on tap like Sloop Juice Bomb and Long Ireland.

So this is a full bar with a kitchen, that accepts credit cards as payment. They offer free-WiFi, multiple TV's, about 8 beers on tap, and they play Quick Draw. They have a fairly large and diverse menu, including dessert, with take out/curbside delivery available. The interior of the building is small, but it's perfect for individuals or small to midsize groups of people to attend. They even offer reserved seating if you call ahead.

Nothing felt heavy or over-processed, just clean, nourishing food that actually makes you feel good after eating. What really stood out, though, was the owner's genuine care for customers. He went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying everything and even offered us a taste of his freshly made soup -- which was amazing and such a thoughtful touch. That kind of hospitality is rare and speaks volumes about the heart behind this place. It's so important to support small businesses like this that are clearly built on passion, integrity, and community. Gourmelos is doing it right, and I'll absolutely be back.

It did take the owner some time to make all the gyros for four of us, but the turnout was so delicious! The homemade hummus is so smooth and tasty. It melts instantly in my mouth. The lamb gyro I got was such a great portion, I wasn't hungry until late night. The amount of ingredients in the gyro besides the lamb, cucumbers, olives, and celeries, makes it incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend!

Well it's Friday and I'm trying to reinstitute "Friday Date Night". Sometimes life get complicated and it's been awhile. Okay, let's see if Matt was right. First we look over the drink menu. I'm thinking if I can get enough booze into Mrs. E this might turn out to be a great date night. Review to follow. LOL Nothing jumps out at me but their Moctails look good, so I ask if they can add alcohol to it. Sure is the answer. Ok a little known fact. When Mrs. E has a drink her face turns bright red. With this drink, no change in complexion. I call our waiter over. C'mon man you have to work with me. He returns with two shots of liquor. Yes there it is, red face. Ok enough personal stuff. Next the food. We start with Baked clams. These were really good. Next we order entrees. Mrs. E has some kind of Chicken Kabobs. I don't really care I'm busy keeping an eye on her drink. I had the soy glazed salmon. Not really a fish guy but it's a long story and you've already heard too much personal stuff. Both meals good and I may start liking fish more. BTW, our waiter was Avery. Not sure about spelling but he was pretty good. All and all a good night and meal. So why 4 Stars? Although Avery was a good waiter, service was slow, very slow. Oh a side note, we were sitting near the bar and there was a woman/bar fly type over drinking and kind of being a spectacle. A little entertainment I guess. So will I go back. Yes we will. Oh the review of Mrs. E and the drinks. Hmmm I leave that for another time. Hey Matt N, I mostly agree with your review

Eat Unique Indeed…read more We were famished for something brunchy this past Sunday, and were looking at different places to go to. Went to the Watermark, parking lot was inaccessible, seems people don't know how to park over there. Even the street spaces were full. We headed further west, Flying Pig was closed down, we had been to Crazy Beans, then a quick Google search pulled up a spot we'd never heard of before. Pulled up to a strip mall where BlackSheep was located, nice big parking lot as expected. Walked in, and we were the first ones there. The place smelled fantastic. We sat ourselves and perused the menu. The server came by and enumerated the specials, but I was fixated on Braise your Belly. We also got me-mah's mac and cheese, and started off with the Roasted Garlic Northern Bean Dip and the Minestrone soup. The Bean Dip starter was fantastic. All the little things you need for a perfect bite. A scoop of bean dip on a toasted pita wedge, stick a couple of kalamata olives on the bean dip mortar (3 olives were too much), add pickled red onion and fire-roasted peppers, then top with crumbled feta. Amazing bite. I had a taste of the Minestrone, and it was excellent. Flavors were all there without being overdone. The pasta was nice and cooked just right. The mac and cheese was perfect. I couldn't put my finger on the cheeses used, but it all came together nicely. You didn't just get a mouthful of one cheese flavor. It was creamy, balanced, and the crispy onions on top made it really nice. and the stunner. I am a big fan of pork belly, and this really piqued my interest. Served with lemongrass grits and pickled veg with a soy miso glaze. The pickled veg was tossed in a bed of leafy greens, and I saw some seaweed salad in there as well. A little bite of the grits topped with the salad was amazing. I've never had that combo before. A little tart, a little salty, nice umami, I could have eaten a bowl of just that. However, when the pork belly came into play, everything changed. The crisped, lightly charred crust on the fatty slices of nirvana by themselves were perfect. Cut a piece of it and lay it on the grits-salad bite, and you can feel your eyes roll backwards. I wanted to, and almost ate it all, but I left a slice for my girlfriend and topped off her little bit of mac and cheese that she wanted to take home. Half an hour in, and the place pretty much packed out for a bit while they were doing a healthy amount of takeout/pickup orders. The place is pretty simple: interesting Black Sheep art, with mostly little tables, plasticware, and a drinks cooler. The food can certainly be right at home in a fancier and upscale setting, but doesn't need it. They had one server, and she was delightful and attentive to everyone. The chef came around and asked how everything was, which I find is always a nice touch. Definitely coming back.
