Shrimp: Headon ($18.85) - SJ Lovers, Hot
    Elena N.

Date: Friday, November 15th, 2024 Meal: Dinner Delivery Time Ordered: around 4pm How Ordered: DoorDash Time Arrived: around 5pm Delivered to: Evergreen *Crawfish: Frozen ($16.85) - Garlic Butter Fuego, Hot *Premium Clams: Fresh ($18.85) - East2West, Hot *Shrimp: Headon ($18.85) - SJ Lovers, Hot Not sure why this spot is listed as closed. I ordered from them last week via DD. Tho the storefront was called Eat Eat Seafood. But the addy is the same and some menu pix on Yelp say Eat Eat Seafood. I adore seafood in a bag. The hubby, not so much. So when I'm on my own for a meal, I tend to gravitate towards crawfish. There are plenty of spots in SJ and I was in the mood to try a new spot. Decided to give this resto a shot since DD was offering $12 off. The app doesn't list any sauce options, so I had to go off the pix on Yelp and make notes. I believe they offer three unique sauces, so I decided to try them all. (Some menus list Viet Cajun as an option, but that's just a mix of SJ Lovers and Garlic Butter Fuego.) I tend to like thick sauces since they stick to the seafood. So I thought SJ Lovers would be my least fav. Surprisingly, I liked the flav of this sauce the most. Garlicky and savory. They did put it in a separate bag which I thought was weird, but I just poured it on top on the shrimp. The shrimp by far was the best item. Big and meaty. My second favorite sauce was the Fuego. It stuck to the crawfish nicely. Great cajun spice. But I found this a touch too sweet for my palate. Also, the crawfish claws were huge! I tried eating some as to not waste the meat, but it was so dry and stuck to the shell. I found myself wishing the claws were smaller as it was just wasted weight. The clams were were good. Tender and juicy. I just wished I liked the East2West sauce. It was creamy, but not tangy. I ended up squeezing all the limes they gave me into this bag. Still didn't provide much contrast since the limes were kinda dry. I also found the sauce waaay too sweet. I'm not a sweet and savory girl, so this was my least fav. I didn't finish the bags, so I ended up mixing the Fuego and SJ sauces and saved the rest for later. The heat on this definitely ramped up as it was super spicy two days later. I actually didn't find any item very spicy when I first ate it. Letting it marinate definitely brought out the heat. An okay place to grab some seafood in a bag. If I ever order from them again, will probably get the Viet Cajun sauce. The SJ Lovers balanced out the sweetness of the Garlic Butter Fuego nicely. I just hope next time the tail ratio is better on the crawfish. It kinda feels like you are getting gypped when the bag was mostly giant claws. The shrimp is solid tho if that's all you are aiming for. REVIEW #3624

Save your time and money DO NOT COME HERE! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Ordered crawfish Togo and it was frozen. At least have the decency to tell me on the phone you got frozen crawfish. Ordered potatoes in the menu says 2 potatoes but it was 1 potato cut in half. The sausage was thinly sliced 5mm thin. Fucking rip off piece of shit place. Will never come back. Dirty asf!

Currently under new management. This little mom & pop shop is run by the sweetest Vietnamese lady who works extremely hard, absolutely killing it in the kitchen. Every visit has been met with attentive service, genuine friendliness, and the desire to satisfy it's customers. Meals here have ranged from: -Live [fresh] Crawfish -Shrimp -Seafood Stir Fry Egg Noodles -Frozen Crawfish -Mi Nam Vang [egg noodles]. Served dry. -Ribeye Steak w/ Fries Food generally is really good. Flavors are delicious and the seafood is fresh, aside from the frozen crawfish that is currently the only thing available when it comes to these little critters. My go-to flavoring is the SJ Lovers sauce!! The pickled peppers are highly addictive and pair perfectly with the Nam Vang noodles. Ribeye steak has an Asian flare to it so if you are anticipating your typical Americanized slab of beef, this ain't it. 4 solid stars. My little family and I enjoy our visits here. ** please be advised that EE's cost for live & frozen crawfish are the SAME!! Do yourself a favor and hold off on the frozen stuff because it's not worth the $$$. **

It's Father's Day and my dad wanted Cua Rang Muoi (roasted salt & black pepper crab) so I looked up on Yelp and decided to give this place a try. I called to place an order and they said the food will be ready in 15 minutes. There was a slight language barrier so I had to speak Vietnamese to them. The level of sauces/spices is kinda confusing since the cashier didn't explain/describe it to be via phone. I asked her about the Crab special and she said it was ~$40 something. We decided to order just one to see if it was worth it. My dad really liked it! He ate the whole crab by himself lol.. good flavor. We also ordered the Hu Tieu Nam Vang (egg noodles & rice noodles) with soup ~$13.85 -- it's not bad, good portion and appreciate the large container of soup on the side and bean spouts/herbs! I just wished the rice noodle (pho) was a little softer. I was a little too al dente for my liking so I have to add more broth and reheat in the microwave a little more. Clams with garlic butter fuego sauce (mild) ~$17.85. There were a good amount of clams coated in the sauce. Smelled really garlicky and yummy! I appreciate the packaging so it wouldn't leak. Everything was $78 which is a decent pricing considering how big the crab was! Contactless payment. Staff were wearing masks. There was a shield between customers and employees for safety reasons. Fast service and nice employees. As of 6/20/21, customers were able to dine in. There is no outdoor dining. Take out available. I'll be back to try some of their other seafoods and sauces next time!

The best snail restaurant is in the town. 1st Check-in: We ordered: Oc Huong Xao Bo Toi 5/5; Nghe Hap Thai 5/5, Oc Mong Tay Xao Me 5/5, So Diep Nuong Mo Hanh 5/5, so Nhat nuong trung ca 5/5, sun ga chien gion 5/5 and Mi xao Hai san (my point:4.8/5 and my bf 5/5) 2nd Check-in: We had Seafood Hotpot 6/5 and So Diep nuong trung ca 5/5 Food: We love all the snail dishes. The taste is delicious. I am impressed with the garlic butter flavors. Service: At the first time check-in, we waited for 30' because of the full table. However, the staffs were very friendly and fast service. The 2nd time, the service was super. Ambiance: it is Vietnamese Restaurant - Family styles/quan nhau, so it can be loud but it is ok with my bf and me. Overall: 5/5

New business. Many logistics have not been worked out. No sign in sheet in front. Did not use PoS system. We put in order already but 2 people came by to ask whether we have ordered yet. One of the people who asked was the one who took down our order originally. What duh. Needless to say high inefficiency and looooong wait time. It turned out the person who took our order didn't turn it in the kitchen. Waited for about 30 mins to get seated. Wait another 40 mins or so to get our beers then food later. Did not like crawfish/Cajun sauce since it seems to have the consistency of tapioca starch. The Manila clams were over cooked/shrank. The oc dish did have a flavorful smoke smell but it was over cooked and chewy. Liked the sauce dish. Surprised to see this place is crowded on a Tuesday night. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes. But definitely slow service.

Called on December 4th, 2020 and they said the crawfish was live. I've never had live crawfish in December so I figured why not try! Extremely disappointing. No way in hell that was live crawfish, and I can't believe I paid $17 a pound. During crawfish season, my family and I buy live crawfish from the market and cook it at home at least every other week, so we have a good gauge on what's fresh. And we all agreed the crawfish from here were not fresh at all, most were super mushy and gray. Have you ever had the 3 lb frozen crawfish bag at Walmart? I hate to say it but that quality is better than what we had here. Got the garlic butter fuego sauce in mild and hot. I really like the flavor! It's different than Kickin' Crab, lighter and a little sweeter. Spicy was hot, had my nose dripping a bit lol but not unbearable. Overall, I think the sauce is good but I would not come back for crawfish.

We ordered some seafood boil from here through Postmates. We got all the seafood with the Garlic Butter Fuego Sauce. The sauce is pretty sweet. We prefer savory sauce over this. All the seafood were big and fresh. The clams and shrimps were quite big. Some crawfish were big but some were small. Dungeness crab was good too. The medium spice is very spicy. I almost died when I put a little chunk in my mouth. Mild was perfect spice for me. We ordered 1 lb crawfish in hot spice and it came with just the sauce. 2 lbs of crawfish were in medium and another 2 lbs in mild. It was weird. If you like sweet sauce and fresh seafood, then this is for you...unfortunately it's the sweet sauce that wasn't for us.

This is only based on their noodle soup, which is offered only from opening-2pm. We heard a lot of people liking the place and it was offering $8/bowl, so we decided to try it out. Service: We were greeted and seated right away. After being seated our waiter left. About 1-2min later he came with utensils and sauces and left again. We flagged him down to ask for menus. Which he said they didn't have menus and that they only had noodle soups (one size only). So we ordered 4 bowls and asked for iced water. It took 10min to get our drinks (had to remind someone else about it) and 30min to get our food. We asked for an extra small bowl for nephew, and literally went up to the counter 2 times to remind/ask them. Service is very slow and inattentive (not sure if because they're just very new and/or understaffed or what). Our waiter however was very sweet. Food: The noodle soups were ok, it wasn't bad but I wasn't WOWed by it either. We also ordered some chinese donuts after seeing another table with it. Those were good. I personally don't eat the liver and stuff like that in the soup, but my sister said it tasted really bad and had a strong cleaning product taste... Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon, but they definitely got to do something about the service and wait time.

This was my first time having crawfish, and it was such a fun experience! We had the garlic fries, crawfish, and shrimp. The seafood was medium spicy and we had the garlic fuego sauce and I can't remember which other sauce. But they were both very tasty and super flavorful. Since it was my first time having crawfish, I struggled a little bit to get the meat out, but by the end I got the hang of it :) The interior is also very clean and the service was great. The owner, Chris, was very friendly and hospitable. I highly recommend coming here for a fun outing! Just be prepared get your hands dirty and to reek of garlic by the time you leave

I call & ask if there crawfish is fresh & they tell you yes than 6lbs later & most of them were so bad & taste so gummy. You can tell it was mixed with some frozen old ass stuff. We pretty much toss half away cause it was just so bad. Never again.

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The only small downside was that the crawfish had a bit of a fishy taste, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal since the seasoning was still really good. The shrimp, on the other hand, were delicious and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, great for groups. It was pretty busy when we arrived, which says a lot about how popular the place is, but we were still able to enjoy our meal comfortably. The service was efficient despite the crowd, we didn't have to wait for too long. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.
