This is one of those restaurants that you drive past everyday and wonder if it's any good. I've always been a bit curious and skeptical since it's literally right down the street from me. Until one of my friend who lives in Concord said they tried it and it was worth a visit. So we decided to have our girls brunch here. Parking was plenty and at around 1:30pm on a Sunday, not that busy. It's really one of those restaurant that is not the most aesthetic but food is good. We got a few dim sum items and a few main dishes. What we ordered: - Peking duck - 4/5 $48 for the whole duck. Quite expensive but it is good. I didn't know that you could order half a duck. This dish also came out last and we were already full by the time it came out. Skin was crispy and nice but I would only do half a duck next time - Sui mai - 4.5/5 very good - Har cow - nothing crazy. I'd probably skip this - Chicken feet - 4.5/5 the chicken feet were quite big but delicious - Honey walnut shrimp - 4/5 - chicken chowmein - 4/5 chicken was so tender and - Sauteed spinach - 3/5 $15 for this was too expensive - Chinese broccoli - also mid - scallion pancake - 3/5 - shrimp cheung fun 4/5 a must order for me at every dim sum place Overall the food was good but a bit on the pricey side. The dim sum dishes were $7 each and veggies were $15. I'd come back if I was really craving some dim sum and doesn't want to drive far

t's been three years since my last update. Yada, yada, yada, back up to 4 stars. Some good dishes have been added to my rotation, including the salt & pepper fish, beef stew, and their stuffed braised tofu. The big improvement has been in their ability to provide accurate times for pick up of to go orders.

Great food and classic Chinese environment , clean and great food choices.. Service is great as well.

First time dining in at the restaurant. The parking lot is decent sized. The restaurant is fairly large. It can accommodate quite a few large parties and maybe a small wedding reception. Two separate restrooms for men and women. The service was nice. My wife and I ordered... Salted Fish with steamed pork patty (3.5/5). The portion was a bit small for the price. The flavor was good. Peking Spareribs (3.5/5). The sauce was pretty good. Some of the fried spareribs were dry but overall pretty decent. Takeout order of the Szechuan Minced Pork with Green Beans for my mom.

Everything was so good! Recommend the shrimp balls!

Great Chinese food. Service was great appears to be husband and wife. It was quiet when we were here Saturday 4:30ish but our little group made it loud so I'm sure it can be loud when it's full. Try Ocean Delight. The couple are very nice. But really try the shrimp balls they are freshly made and hot though so cut in half. Would recommend and come again when in the area and want Chinese food for sure.

Been here since I was younger and Ocean Delight is a solid spot for dim sum in South San Jose. Though I prefer other places, Ocean Delight is cheaper and it's a big plus that they offer dim sum all day. Came here for my brother's birthday dinner and we were satisfied. DIM SUM (4/5): * Fried Shrimp Ball * Fried Crab Ball * Fried eggplant with shrimp (super good) * Sui Mai * Har Gow * Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll (the best) * Football (fried chewy dough with meat) Other Dishes: 1) Mongolian Beef, 2) Chow Fun, 3) Honey Walnut Shrimp, 4) Peking Duck, and 5) Salt and Pepper Squid. These were all good but the peking duck ($50) was okay. The meat was kind of dry, but the skin was crispy. It was our first time trying the duck, but we will stick with our usual choices. My family comes here every once in awhile and the owner still remembers us. The place is clean and they even packed our food to-go for us.

Terrific service and portion sizes. Very much enjoyed the exceptional technique on the salt and pepper tofu ($16), which was actually silky tofu cubed and then dusted in the tapioca starch and deep fried. This is a technique that is really seen. Most places use a firmer tofu or bean curd and then deep fry. Admittedly, I like both versions, but really appreciated the effort it takes to make this particular one. The dim sum was a bit uneven, with excellent turnip cakes, deep fried meat dumplings ("footballs" on the menu), and shrimp cilantro dumplings. Th siu mai were average and the egg tarts over baked. Would visit again when in the area.

Friendly staff, food portion is good and looks fresh, best thing I liked is the dishes aren't overly salty like some other places, looks like they use wholesome ingredients without too much fillers n over seasoning, our new favorite place!

Half way through our Hargow and Shumai!!

The Dim Sum is always fresh and tasty. The service is always friendly and quick. There are many Asian styled decorations throughout the dining room including watercolor prints of flowers.

We ate things so fast we forgot to take pictures of most of the dishes.

This is a true Family owned and operated business with delicious down home Dim Sum (well I don't really know if its down home in China, but it sure is here in California). You can tell its been here a long time, but the food is just great. We've been looking for a place that serves Dim Sum for dinner and found a place that has the best Dim Sum I've had in a long time. They don't do the cart thing, but every dish is made to order so its super fresh. Its not a place to go if you are in a rush. The plates come out as they are made. The owner, Yvonne, is lovely and very helpful. We now go here regularly (pretty much everytime we go to Costco which is nearby)

We have been having their dim sum n dishes very often for years. Outside: private parking lot, clean Inside: tidy n clean, basic table setting, round n square tables Customer service: very friendly n professional Payment: cash, credit cards To mention some of the items we like: SiuMine, Chicken Feet, Beef ball, deep fried Sesame balls, rice paste rolls (with different vegetables/ meats), Steamed buns....

Decided to eat here since it was close to where we were staying. We ordered something light before hwading back to socal. Hargow, sesame ball, siu mai, mushroom wuth shrimp? Ribs? All of them were delicious. Some were a little bit salty. Slow service, tbh. Server needs help during lunch time. Can't do it alone for online order, to-go and dine in. No water in the bathroom, low water pressure in sink. I wonder if staff is able to wash hand effectively when using the bathroom. Fyi: only bottled water for $1 or tea for $1. Why? So your choice is 1 bottle water for all the sodium your taking or hot tea but no water. Yikes.

3-/2+ I was more leaning to 2+, but the lady at the register is nice. The food was not good. When I walked in, the place was empty; probably because we went after lunch hours. We are from out of town so I don't know if that is normal or not to be honest. Food came out with 1 dish too salty and some barely warmed. The dishes did come out fast. We will probably not return. We just passed by there on our way to somewhere. Almost forgot, we tried dim sum dishes and a noodle dish. Refer to pictures.

Ask the Community - Ocean Delight Seafood Restaurant

Are they doing carts for indoor dining dim sum?

No they are not due to covid

How's the parking for large events here? The lot looks kind of small if one were to book out the restaurant. Thanks in advance!

Lots of parking. You can probably double park if you book the place.

Do they serve dim sum all day?

Yes, during non-peak hours, you can order dim sum from the menu (when there are no carts). I love dim sum... have often ordered different treats for dinner here!

I see the prices for dimsum is $4.5, is that 4.5 each dumpling or 4.5 per trays?

It's 4.5 for the tin yeah, generally in dimsum they'll charge you for the whole thing. Not much individually.

What is the cadence for Saturday brunch? How early should I show up with a party of 5 for dim sum?

11:00 am! By noon on a Saturday it gets very crowded. The dim sum is delicious and extremely fresh. Enjoy!

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.

The server's sincere apology when the food was finally delivered significantly helped erase that frustration. The BBQ Pork: Very flavorful and not too fatty. However, typically priced around $15.00 to $16.00, I found the portion size to be a bit small for the cost and the wait. Beef Chow Mein: A classic staple that was well-prepared, though I prefer the thicker noodle. General Chicken: a solid choice, just the right amount of seasoning. Gailan: Fresh and a perfect balance to the heavier meat items. Overall, the sincerity of the staff and the food quality made up for the initial logistical hiccups.

Even though their parking lot had a lot of cars, it's so big that there're still plenty of spaces. Their inside was huge as well. Because of the high ceiling, it didn't feel too crowded, even though it was packed. They had a lot of servers, too, though getting the attention of one took a while. Our server highly recommended their sea bass 2 ways (congee and chow fun) on their daily special menu. We would have ordered that if they still had fish at ~2lb, but they only had fish at ~3lb, which would be too big for us, as we would like to order some dim sum as well. So, we just ordered from their dim sum menu. The 2 different house teas we ordered came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for the food to come. The Sauteed Turnip Cake in XO Sauce was the dish I liked the most. It could still use more XO sauce, though. Pork & Crab Roe Siu Mai was gigantic; taste was normal. I wished they had chili sauce at the table. We're too busy catching up and didn't bother to flag down someone to get some. The Fried Bean Curd Skin Roll w/ Shrimp was not bad, just a bit oily. The Fried Chinese Donut Wrapped in Rice Noodle w/ Dried Shrimp was on point; it came with a peanut sauce on the side. The Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce were well cooked and off the bones. The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Black Bun wasn't too sweet; the inside was more runny than we expected. We're already stuffed after having 6 dim sum dishes. Overall, dim sum was solid, but on the more expensive side. In my opinion, their system for waiting for tables is a bit chaotic. They do not ask for your phone number; instead, they print out a receipt with a number and call it out when your table is ready. There is a monitor inside the restaurant that you can watch, but since it's so crowded and the way the system is displayed on the screen, it's kind of hard to tell what is going on or what your status is. Service-wise, it's exactly what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant serving dim sum, if you know what I mean. :) Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and large, and I am assuming the reason for the long wait is that it's one of only two places to get dim sum in Milpitas (the other being Mayflower in the other highly packed plaza nearby). They do not serve dim sum with the traditional cart system where dishes are rolled around the dining room. Instead, you order from a menu and mark down how many quantities you want of each item. My family got a variety of dishes, but I'll call out some notable ones: * Their shu mai was juicy and packed with meat, probably one of the best shu mai I've had in the South Bay. * Their har gow skin broke apart really easily, which bummed me out, but it was generously stuffed with shrimp. * My favorite dish was their purple rice rolls. It was basically a Chinese donut stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in a purple glutinous rice roll. * The chicken feet were very balanced and not too sweet. * The truffle scallop dumpling had a rich mushroom flavor, and the scallop added a nice flavor profile. * The BBQ pork was coated well with the char siu sauce. It was tender and bold in flavor. Overall, my experience here was great, but I do not think it warranted more than a 30-minute wait. The food also came out a bit slowly in my opinion, but that was probably due to the high volume of people.
