This place has great food for cheap prices. However... If you aren't used to spicy food, please do not get anything spicy lol. I got the spicy calamari and it was so hot I could barely eat it, and I'm used to spicy food. They serve their main dishes with banchan (side dishes); with my spicy calamari I got kimchi, kongnamul (bean sprouts) and some seasoned peanuts; not entirely sure what they put in the side dishes but they were delicious. I think they have different side dishes throughout the day, also served with steamed rice. Korean people eat a lot of side dishes with their main course usually. They also use a lot of gochugaru (hot pepper flakes) and gochujang (hot pepper paste) in their cooking, and it's VERY spicy. So just be careful! I'm so happy I found Eat More Korean! I had been watching videos on YouTube of a vlogger in Korea and everything she ate looked delicious, so I went searching for a Korean restaurant for my sister and myself to try. I found the gem that is Eat More Korean! I was hooked after the first visit! My absolute favorite dishes are the Topokki ramen (very spicy!) and the seafood ramen. My sister has tried their bibimbap and said that it is amazing! I have also had the dumpling ramen (wish there were more dumplings in it because I love dumplings!) The dishes usually come with sides like radish and kimchi. The radish is very sweet and I'm not crazy about the kimchi. It doesn't seem seasoned enough. The bubble tea is delicious! I recommend the Taro flavor. The fish-shaped waffles are alright, but they don't have much flavor to them, even with the filling. Overall, I enjoy my visits to Eat More Korean. Let me preface this by saying, I HATE giving bad reviews but I feel I must be the bearer of bad news bc I'm not sure many of the reviewers know what real Korean food is supposed to taste like. Also, I feel compelled to add that I am an adopted full blooded Korean and my adopted mother is Korean. I also got more of an education from my Godmother who owns an Asian market near Cherry Point where I was stationed. She taught me what Korean dishes are supposed to taste like and even how to make a great deal of them. This Korean restaurant came up on my notifications a few weeks earlier as new (two checks in the column that make me interested in a restaurant) so since my dad was in town for the day, my bf & I decided to take him there to give it a try. It also had really awesome reviews. I was super excited bc my dad hadn't had good Korean food since he was in Korea back in the 70's and 80's being stationed there and I felt like I was going to be able to give him a taste of it here. We all trekked the 10 minutes it took to get there since we live in FP. It's located in a Vietnamese food market called Nam Dae Mun (NOT Korean as another reviewer stated and was never corrected on) and everything looked shiny, fresh and just new bc the market is brand spankin new. I loved it alrdy. When we got there, the cashier was kind of rude. I was deciding what to get bc when I'm hungry I want all the things. Haha. While deciding, there was a young African American woman there checking out the Kimbap. She wasn't quite sure about it bc it looked like sushi but she could tell it wasn't exactly sushi. I informed her that traditional Kimbap is made with sesame oil instead of vinegar like the Japanese way and nothing raw. It also has pickled daikon (moo in Korean) and lots of veggies and sometimes cooked bulgogi meat inside. It looks different but is very much delicious. She said, "thank you so much for telling me that!" Meanwhile the cashier was mean mugging me and even commented, "I'm not standing here or anything..." That in itself alrdy put a bad taste in my mouth but I was determined to judge the restaurant based off of its food instead of a moody teen/young woman. My daddy ordered a Korean classic: Bibimbap with a well cooked egg instead of the overeasy that is customary. My bf also ordered a classic: Kimchi Jjigae. And I ordered another classic: Seolleongtang! Boy, was I excited! That soup is one of my all time faves. I even dip kimchi in a spoon from the banchan in it and eat it! Super yummy. It took a while to actually get the food and so I thought well, it's bc they're authentic and they want to do it right! I always try to find a silver lining in all things. When we got the food we dove right in and were supremely disappointed. Save for my bf who was chowing down his jjigae. The bf said his was good but I tasted it and it was ok not great. My father and I were a bit upset. Ours were amazingly underwhelming and bland. Seolleongtang is a noodle soup that has broth made from slow cooking ox bones for a long time and is normally amazingly delicious and flavorful although it is not spicy as Korean food is known to be. Bibimbap is a dish that has a bunch of different veggie namuls arranged like rays from the sun around the bowl and sits atop a bed of rice usually in a stone bowl with bulgogi in the middle and a cracked egg in the middle with a dollop of seasoned gochujang (red pepper paste). It's aesthetically pleasing as well as the flavors being as such. But at this establishment it was not. I'm so sorry. Both dishes were such a disappointment. Mb I came on the wrong day, mb they have since changed cooks. Idk. And it seems like they care about how the customers enjoy themselves and their ratings bc the owner comes by on this site to give a thank you for the review which is another reason I hate to give a bad one. As a former employee here I would love to share my opinions on this place. I definitely saw first hand how the kitchen works, how the front works, and I want to say that they (the wonderful and pleasant chefs and owner) have such a passion for what they do. Every morning I went in at my usual time, the main chefs would definitely beat me there by 30 min. Or so so they could have a head start on making the japchae, kimbap & fishcake we sell in small to go packs. (Yes everything out there is made the same day, every day) I would see how they would make the kimchee (I'm telling y'all the kitchen would smell so good & I'm not too fond of kimchee but man oh man) how they would cut the kalbi and marinate it, how they would prep the food, it's all so fresh and that's one of the things I loved about it. We are IN a farmers market.. all we had to do was step outside our area and buy whatever fresh ingredient we need! All the food is delicious, although I am biased on their seafood options ONLY because I don't like seafood at all. Also, as a cashier we had to make a lot of things as well, morning usually start with making the boba for our wonderful bubble teas. (Yep, also made fresh every morning.) We would have to make the batter for the fish waffles, our signature & beloved thai tea (also made fresh every time), our iced coffee , and a couple of other things I cannot remember off the top of my head. I list these things to say that they truly care about the quality they give to their consumers. Everything is better hand made in my opinion. To be 100% honest, this was the best job I've ever had and I cried my last day. I knew NOTHING about the Korean culture nor the food. But heck, I came out of there knowing how to say almost all the menu in korean lol. This small place is really great, really fresh and I truly believe it deserves A LOT more recognition. The employees there are amazing, I loved working with them, I felt like we were a small family in a way.. we always have breakfast every morning and lunch, whenever someone brought something in no matter how small we always made it work and always shared with one another, and there was never any trouble. The owner, Michale, is just as great, he cares a lot about his establishment and his employees, he's very understanding and overall a great boss. I have read through the reviews because I like to see what we could work on while I was still there, most of the "bad" reviews would be customers not liking the food.. or it not "tasting the same". But honestly, you can't expect for people to cook the same. There's more than one way to do something for everything. I appreciate this place a lot, it taught me so much in so little time. Having been military and deployed to S.Korea, this spot is the MOST authentic spot, I've eaten at since I've been back from deployment. This is real Korean with nice portions, well worth the price. I love Korean food and I was so excited about this restaurant being close to home and DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this place! Their menu expands constantly with more and more mouth watering dishes. The food is fresh and hot. I do suggest eating at the place though because, unless you live like 5 minutes away, once the food cools, it clumps together and microwaving it again does not taste very well. So the little one has a fondness of ramen noodles (yes, the cheap packs.) I decided if she was going to keep raving about it, she should at least know about the good stuff. The young man at the counter was patient with us, helping decide which ramen to get (we chose egg) and giving us a quick run down on a couple other things. We got the ramen to eat there and the Korean beef dish and spicy beef and veggie soup to go. Best decision ever. That bowl came out piping hot and we dove in. It was served with kimchi and bright yellow pickled radish that were kinda sweet. Not too much later I got kicked out the bowl and had to sit quietly while sipping my Thai tea with boba, wondering exactly when did my kid become so greedy and selfish. Note to self: order my own bowl next time. I also liked that the tea wasn't overly thick and sweet like some other places. The other dishes we took home hit the spot for dinner and by the end of the night she wanted to move to Korea. This place is a winner. read more

This is the worst, rude staffs, spoiled food. Couple incidents happend that made ne write this review. 1st of all, let me say, I was quite of their regular customer, I was fond when they open, and tried there food, it tast nice ans good portion, I have to admit and ai been bragging them with my family and tell then to come and try. But one day, I came with my family, my sister order the Tofu soup, the soupon come out with no egg inside so we asked them in case they forgot to put it in. Couple kitchen staffs (male an female) came out, using spoon to stir the soup for like 5 mins to find the eggs and then, finally when they couldn't see it, they believe we tell the truth, took back the soup (that the tofu already broken into small pieces) put an egg in and give it back to us. My sister said she will never it there again, but I still think their food is good, no harm done, maybe it's just the "Korean way of customer service, so I still eat there frequently and even though I always got treat like I'm begging for food from them. Just today 5/16/17, I came in buy some fish waffles, the crust was sour - both me and my husband taste it, I told to the staffs, the skinny, long hair Korean lady said it cannot be, then snatched the waffle from my hand (with her bare, no gloved hands), ate them and say it isn't sour, then she tun to the kitchen, get the RAW batter from the refrigerator out, tell me to taste it (of course it not spoiled vs the one they sit in the counter whole day) told other customers that I just making thing up. I ordered two orders of Galbi. The ribs were so fatty that I threw most of them away. It was ratio of about 40% fat to actual meat. Food cost too expensive to have such a loss because of poor quality (fat and gristle) Definitely has lost a customer. I will not ever recommend this place. read more

So after leaving the movies, my tummy was have a fit so I found this place inside of the market that used to be the old target building. The cashier was friendly and helped me with my selections after asking a few questions. I order a bowl that had veggies and rice with chicken, and my daughter ordered a seafood ramen bowl. My food was somewhat spicy, but it didnt have any other flavor that I was expecting, but still good, so i was just a tad disappointed. My daughter said her food was delicious. Im sure it was because she was quite the whole time and thats not normal for this chatter box. I would recommend for you to give it a try. Also they have flavor fish shaped waffles that i wanted to try but she said she feel that the batter was spoil and she wanted to make some fresh batter but I didnt have the time to wait. The food here tastes very authentic and good! The prices are cheap and the sushi is made to order if you don't choose the pre-made ones at the register. I've had the Cod Soup and the fish cake Udon soup... my boyfriend tried the beef rice stonebowl and it was pretty great as well! I'm an adventurous person, who likes to try new things. While catching a movie with a friend, we decided to get something to eat before it started. We looked on Google for any good places nearby, and EMC popped up. Having never tried Korean cuisine before, I was immediately interested. Happy to say, I was not disappointed. Like others have stated, the restaurant is located inside Nam Dae Mun Farmers Market, off to the right side, as soon as you enter. Side note: Nam Dae Mun is an excellent place to shop for fresh food. We were REALLY hungry, so we ordered about 4 entrees. 2 Korean BBQ Sliced Beef Ribs, 1 Sizzling Stonebowl Bibimap, and 1 Beef Short Rib Soup. It was ALL delicious! The restaurant isn't big, but it's clean. The staff we interacted with were friendly, and the front store clerk who helped us with our order was patient, helpful, and engaging. Being half Korean and living on the south side can be challenge if you want good Korean food. This place is convenient and easy to get in and out. Their Korean food is great and my kids enjoy it. Their favorite is the K-2 Korean Beef. They are a small business located in the front of Nam Dae Mun. I give them five stars because their food tastes great.
