This is a very small place that's obviously old but was right near my jobsite on a recent work trip. I mainly visited since it was nearby, but also because they offered a standout Ruben, keyword 'offered' as in they don't have it anymore. My colleague loves Reubens but he ended up having to order something else furing our visit. This ended up being a good thing because he was super happy with his choice afterward. I looked over the menu and there were other menu items also crossed off, but still plenty of options to choose from. Their burgers are handpressed but only 6 oz. That is a little small for me, especially when I'm hungry. After conversing with the gentleman behind the counter about my options, we both agreed I should go with the spicy fried chicken sandwich. I ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich which comes with homemade fries and their homemade green tea with ginger and mint. My colleague ordered the pork cutlet sandwich and said it was amazing due to the apple chunks on the sandwich. Both were actually daily specials listed on their board to the right of the menu. My sandwich was quite large and spicy with the fresh jalapenos and a spicy sauce. It reminded me of the large chicken sandwich at Longhorn Steakhouse, but this one was even larger and better. The fries are fresh cut which made this meal perfect. This restaurant is truly nothing special from the outside appearance and both my colleague and I even thought it looked closed when we were driving by. He also said he doubts they have any seating, but we were both wrong. Don't doubt yourself about this restaurant. It is a truly hidden gem with some uniquely prepared foods waiting inside. They had limited beverages. I wanted regular iced tea, but ended up with the homemade green tea with mint and ginger which was pretty good, but no free refills. Service was of course excellent. I interacted with the gentleman a couple more times as I knew I'd need a lot more napkins to tackle this food. read more

It's easy to drive by this little place, but don't! The soups and dressings are homemade and there's a lot of vegan options. The small seating area is clean but lets you know that this is a great place for takeout. I entered about 15 minutes before closing (2:00 PM) and half expected a terse greeting. Instead, I was patiently given time to look over the menu of both meat-based and vegetarian dishes. I ordered the half grilled cheese sandwich with soup and salad. Finally made it! And well worth the drive. Kind of a nondescript place w small parking lot and smallish interior. Super clean, and interesting menu. No, owner/ chef, Bob, does not do omelets. But what he does do is super excellent. I opted for a breakfast Reuben wrap made w 3 eggs, housemade corned beast hash, etc. Perfect! My taste buds did a happy dance. Seems also to have a pretty good vegetarian selection. Bob's (and his wife) have been here for 9+ yrs, turning out memorable dishes. Lots of takeout business. Recommended highly. 5 stars read more

Eat is a little gem just 10 minutes from the NBA Hall of Fame. I had THE most delicious vegan garlicky spinach grilled cheese sandwich! My husband had a Cobb Salad with croutons that looked like tiny loaves of bread. My son had a tuna wrap and fries that were so fresh, I think they must have just peeked the potatoes! What a fantastic place! Great attention to detail. Super tiny and charming. Only about 6 tables. We got there before 8am and immediately got a table. The Saturday special is chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and not greasy. The waffle batter was definitely from scratch and delicious. It was served with warm syrup. My sister order a side of hash which was very slightly dry but definitely homemade. Our server was attentive and genuine. She offered us homemade apple butter and fresh made muffins. Don't let the 4.5 stars fool you. This place is terrible. Came here for breakfast which apparently they stop serving at a certain time. Before finding this out, we sat down and the waitress came over with a piece of paper and read out the specials. (I thought they were supposed to memorize these things but okay. ) she was very unpleasant and short with her words. I asked if they served breakfast and she was so rude about it. Didn't apologize or anything. The customer service here is just terrible and their lunch menu is one page front and back. The pictures make this place look bigger than it is. Don't be intimidated by the looks from the outside. I came here because of recent fellow yelpers reviews. The food is fresh made to order and really good. I ordered the Chicken Waldorf Salad. The greens were fresh, the apples were sliced to order, the chicken was moist and it was lightly dressed with My colleague ordered the Rachel sandwich. The Rachel was a grilled sandwich with fresh turkey breast, cheese house made coleslaw with a side of fresh house made potato chips. I believe the server was the own and only one person handling patrons. She seemed to know almost everyone that came in as they seem to be regulars. There were plenty of specials and specialty teas available. I am in the area again tomorrow and if I have time I will stop by for lunch. The only negative is that it is a very small dining area and seats about 16 people max. Make the trip and don't let the looks from the outside change your mind. read more

A very small restaurant that is easy to miss as you're passing by. There are maybe enough seats inside for 20 people, no more. We entered and were quickly greeted, and they helped us pull some tables together for a group of six. The inside was clean, and low frills. We placed our drink orders and were told they were "only serving lunch" at this time. I found that a little odd, given that it is well advertised as a brunch place, but nonetheless we all ordered some sandwiches. The prices are VERY reasonable for everything on the menu. The kid's burger was rather large for a kid's meal, but no complaints with that I suppose. The Rachel was solid, with freshly toasted bread and delicious roasted turkey. Coleslaw was decent, a little on the bland side. The other sandwiches were all enjoy by all in our party. They have sweet potato fries, which were delicious. I look forward to coming back sometime and trying their "chicken and waffles" and breakfast items. The table next to us ordered it and it looked incredible. Breakfast was delicious! I got a breakfast sandwich on Texas toast and tater tots. It was very tasty and I was so surprised that the tots were cooked perfectly, so many restaurants seem to burn them. I also got an iced green tea with mint & ginger (so refreshing!!) and a watermelon smoothie for my husband (he loved it). Was in the area and looked this place up on Yelp. The food was delicious, nothing really special, just a local place where you can count on the food being great. The green tea is amazing and I liked that it was topped with mint. You don't see that often. I ordered the spicy cheeseburger and it was cooked just right and the fresh cut fries made for a nice compliment. My friend ordered the buffalo wrap, she asked that they make it with jack cheese instead of buffalo (weirdo I know) and they said they went able to accommodate with annoyed her. A hidden gem in Springfield! Every once in a while, I have cravings for chicken and waffles. While I was spending some time in Western Massachusetts, I had the opportunity to try this place. This is a cute little restaurant! You must order the chicken and waffles here! It is so delicious. Their waffles is a churro batter waffle. The cinnamon-y, sweet flavor pairs well with the savory fried chicken. And the syrup hits the spot. It was everything that I asked for and more. We also tried the omelet and it was so filling. The price is fair and the service is superb. I am actually surprised to find a restaurant like this out in Springfield. My mother and I came for lunch and parked in the back. Upon entering we were blown away! It smelled delicious firstly and the decor? Right up my alley! It's got a quaint cozy Christmas Tree Shoppes meets Martha Stewart Home kind of feel. Even the bathroom is beautiful! On to the food. Ah-Mazzz-ing! The portions were large and the quality unbeatable. We split the onion rings which almost ended up in a fight they were so good. When our sandwiches came out--- woah. My moms monte Crisco had enough meat to make 3 large sandwiches! It tasted great and my bacon cheeseburger and homemade fries were the best I've ever had. If I could give this place 100 stars I would! This is what yelp is all about for me--finding great establishments such as this one. Tiniest joint I've ever been in but with food as good as this, I'll squeeze in. We both had omelets--chicken fajita and baked potato. Both omelets were huge and came with toast and home fries -- I only wish there was a substitute for the home fries because it was too much potato on one plate for me! (Maybe there is? I did not note an available substitution on the menu). We were also offered house made apple butter and blueberry jam to put on our toast--we took one of each, both delish! Along with the chicken and waffles i ordered home fries The waffle itself was really good with the fried chicken and candied bacon served on top. Fried chicken had a very good flavor along with a coating on it that was unlike any i have had before, "very light but sinfully satisfying". Home fries were not cooked enough to my liking so next time i would order them well done along with onions in them. Great way to start a Saturday. read more

My husband and I just had a fantastic lunch here. He had a turkey and ham club, and I had a Monte Cristo. They use high quality meat (not deli meat!), and both of our sandwiches were delicious. Mine came with a side of maple aioli that was a perfect dipping sauce. The housemade fries and coleslaw were also very good. Everything was fresh and well prepared. It is a small restaurant with only 6 tables. Prices are excellent, and service was fast and friendly. We'll definitely be back! Came back this morning for breakfast. It was delicious! I love this lil place! I've popped by a few times for take out lunch during the work week and it's been delicious every time. Be sure to check their Facebook page - they post new specials every day, I think. I plan for it to take about half an hour for my order to be ready. Not sure how it is during non-COVID times, but every time I've gone in there, it's been the same gentleman in the kitchen and taking orders. He works really hard and it pays off. Today I had a cup of soup (pumpkin Thai) and a wrap from the daily specials. Everything was incredible - even the side salad the wrap came with was fresh and full of leafy greens, which I like. And the homemade ranch dressing?! Very flavorful. Pretty sure he makes hand cut fries and potato chips as well. Tots or sweet potato fries are an option too. Cute little place. Seats 17 people. We got there at 10am on a Saturday and were seated right away at a table of 4; 15 minutes later every seat was occupied and two parties were waiting outside. People were coming in to pick up take out orders frequently, too, so seems like a very popular place and we just lucked out on the timing. Food was very good, fresh. I had the Reuben omelet, with great shredded corned beef. My son had scrambled eggs and bacon, husband had eggs kielbasa and the loaded home fries. Broccoli and tomatoes in the home fries were very fresh and were a nice take on the traditional boring home fries. Reasonable prices, pretty quick service. Went to this little gem to celebrate getting a new job. I've never heard of this place but my coworker suggested it for breakfast. It had great yelp reviews so I was all in. They could use bigger or more prominent signage because I could have easily drove past it if it weren't for my coworkers walking in. It's a very small building with about 6 tables inside and full view of the kitchen. Two of us tired the special of avocado toast, eggs and bacon and were highly satisfied. The other two had omelets. We were in the area and needed to grab some breakfast - this was our first time at Eat and we were really surprised at how small it actually was. Parking was good and plentiful out back which was good because you don't need to street park. The place itself is really small with only 7 tables. I had the chicken and waffles (pretty tasty) and my fiancé had eggs. The server was sweet but she forgot utensils for us so we ate with small forks that came in our fruit cup. Dropping our son off at college in Loudonville,NY and heading back to Boston and came across this Springfield,MA gem. The food was delicious. Delicious grilled cheese, I added tomato and it did not disappoint. Awesome home made chips. The burgers are so juicy and the aioli sauce Is out of this world. I came here on my lunch breaks while pregnant with my son because I needed protein and large portions(ha!) and Eat is close by. It's not only the closest breakfast spot but it's delicious every time!! I ordered omelettes, wraps, and one time I got a pancake that overflowed the styrofoam container!! My fave about this place is the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. As I stood at the counter to pay, I could see the organized containers on the shelves, the pristinely ordered fridge as the chef opened it to prepare foods, and the clean counters and floors. Nothing makes me more satisfied than knowing the kitchen I'm eating from is clean! The chef was also willing to customize my order to my liking any time.
