The biggest issue started with the menu, it listed halibut, which is exactly what I came for, only to be told it's "not in season." If that's the case, why is it still on the menu? It set the tone for the rest of the evening. Drinks were average at best. My wife's entrée came out overcooked, and my substitute dish (sea bass, since the halibut wasn't actually available) was honestly terrible. The portion was maybe 3 ounces--shockingly small for the price point. I follow a keto diet and specifically asked for melted butter, which the staff did provide. However, the fish arrived covered in a sauce that was never mentioned on the menu. I was told it had no sugar or carbs, but it clearly tasted sweet. After one bite, I didn't feel comfortable continuing and had to leave most of the dish untouched. For a $200+ meal, this was a complete miss--poor execution, lack of transparency on the menu, and overall not worth it. Definitely not the kind of experience you want when celebrating a birthday.

Salvador who helped as well was also so friendly and attentive. But even without my discount, Buddy's was quite affordable! The portions were also very large. The food was amazing, the flavors were so strong. I had the Bucatini Carbonara (highly recommend!) and my boyfriend had the Chicken Parm. On top of that, the place just felt great. It was like sitting in your grandmothers kitchen! The ambiance was well lit and not overwhelming like a normal Strip restaurant would be. I must give a quick note about my waiter, Luca. He was so great!! He was very attentive and sweet, anytime we needed something it's like he knew before we did and was already there! Thank you Luca for a great dinner!
