I've been to this Eat'n Park twice now, and this review is for the most recent visit this past week. On the first visit, I did the soup/salad bar, and this time around I decided to try something from the menu! That's where everything went downhill. As a table, we ordered a mushroom burger w/ cream of broccoli soup, chicken penne pasta with fruit, and the chicken tenders meal w/ fries (and banana and wet wipes, since the kids' menu advertised those as complimentary). You already know I had a bad time, so here we go: - soup tasted like broccoli in milk - fruit plate was dirty - wait time for entrees felt like forever, I didn't time it but it was well over 20 minutes and I was under the impression this was a quick diner-style situation (some of it wasn't even hot when it came out!) - banana didn't come out with meal so I asked, and was given so much attitude! - asked for wet wipes 3x and they never came We go to Costco weekly so I've been looking for some decent lunch spots in the area, and I was so let down by this meal! Our host and other servers were so friendly, but our specific server had a cloud over her that day and unfortunately the mood crept on over to our table. Unfortunately it feels like soup and salad is the way to go here, and I'm not about to go out of my way for this particular soup/salad bar. read more

I don't write negative reviews, but dear Lord, this was a bad time. We went in to get sandwiches in the afternoon. The hostess seemed annoyed to have to seat us, but... shrug, it's not a fun job. The place was not busy. Every section in the place had a few occupied tables and booths, and many empty ones. The hostess walked us to an empty section in the back. The table was not in view of the wait staff-- it was behind a wall panel. The hostess brushed some schmutz off the table with her hand. I wondered if we'd done something to offend her (all we'd said was "Hi, table for two.") I asked if we could sit in a booth instead. I prefer booths (normal, it's normal, I'm normal) and there were so many open ones. There were around 8 empty booths about a foot away, and maybe 20 other open ones in other (open) sections. The hostess said sorry, no, this section (where she was seating us!) is closed, and I only have so many waitstaff. I assumed she was seating us in a closed section to make sure that one of the servers had a table to wait on, so we sat down. No one came by. Waiters glanced at us occasionally, confused. We checked the LED screen card reader thingie on the table. It was off. I picked it up and saw that it was missing all of the insides where a battery/cover would be. We waited a few more minutes. My husband was, by this time, pretty creeped out by the atmosphere. We shrugged, then got up and left. As we exited, the hostess, who said nothing as we were walking for the door, said in the most passive-aggressive voice I've heard outside of Reverend Lovejoy's wife on the Simpsons: "Byeeeee, have such a great day." It felt like getting flipped off by someone with road rage. I said "Thanks," because I am dumb. We shuddered and went to a different place by the Waterfront, where we had a totally normal experience sitting down and eating sandwiches. Here's the thing: I grew up here, I know the deal with Eat n Park and diners in general, and I do not get persnickety about "service" or whatever. Everyone's just getting through the day, and sometimes people are having a rough time or dealing with bad news or maybe they have IBS-- I get it, and I've been there, and it's fine. I guess what I'm complaining about is not this restaurant, the way it's run or managed-- I know nothing about all that, it seemed like a standard Eat n' Park, a place I appreciate because it's familiar and kind of quaint. Nostalgia: it counts. What stuck in my craw was this encounter with the hostess, who seemed like a genuinely mean person, the sort of person who has inexplicable and INTENSE contempt for strangers, including me and my dude, two relatively boring friendly dweebs in search of sandwiches that can be eaten while sitting down. The amount of roiling hatred or bizarro hostility it makes sense to have in this scenario is: zero. Less than zero. I hope said hostess finds a path that brings her more joy, and less contact with people. read more

I haven't been to an Eat'n Park for several years. I recently went with a friend for breakfast and had a pretty good experience with friendly staff. We ordered breakfast platters. One with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, and toast was very good. The other was similar, but with egg whites and no breakfast potatoes. The egg whites came out over cooked, looking slightly burnt. This is a large location with a mixture of booths and chairs, as well as a counter to dine at. They offer all three meals--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prices are very good. Parking is free and plentiful. read more

Nostalgic. Grew up in Pittsburgh and EatnPark assuredly has a place in my heart. Was staying at the Waterfront and had to stop in. Neat local art reminds you of what the Waterfront originally was - a steel mill and the restaurant was very clean. Our waitress (Sarah) was quintessential Pittsburgh. The awesome accent, treated us like family and of course superb service. We were there for breakfast. The Western omelet, bacon, and eggs Benedict with fruit were spot on. Thereafter, wanting to bring the smiles back to California, we stopped at their mini shop at the entrance for smiley cookies, souvenir coffee mugs and coffee. Overall, a great experience! read more

My kids love Eat n Park so we eat here probably the most of restaurants in our area. We also like to order take out from Eat n Park. One of the main appeals for the kids is all day breakfast. They love the pancakes and bacon. My youngest typically chooses the fruit cup also. I like their salads got to love the French fries on top! Omg and their ranch is the best! We were a bit disappointed in the fried pickles this time around. It was almost like they were cut in half. Won't be ordering those again. read more

When someone orders the BBQ Chicken Salad, they're probably expecting their chicken to be marinated in BBQ sauce. But they are not expecting, and NOT WANTING their salad to be drizzled all over with BBQ sauce, as if it is salad dressing! No, I ordered bleu cheese dressing, not BBQ sauce dressing! If only the BBQ sauce had been on the side, as the bleu cheese was. Also, our group was having a dinner meeting in E&P's back room (the room was nice) but the waiter would bark out a question as she entered the room, without noticing that one of us was in the middle of talking to the group. read more

I met a friend at Eat n Park on November 15, 2025, at 11am as the location was convenient for both of us. I hadn't been to this location for several years; used to take my mom there before she died in 2010. I ordered the Breakfast Special and found it very disappointing. My eggs (Sunnyside Up) were cooked OK, but the sausage patties were just awful. They didn't have plain wheat toast, so I just ordered white bread toast which was hardly toasted at all. The potatoes were nothing to write home about; some were burnt. I could have made a better breakfast at home especially since my bill was approximately $12 w/tax. The only thing I can say good about the place was the wait staff. read more

We came in for lunch and decided to get breakfast. The bacon was among the best I've had anywhere. Crispy and full of flavor. The service unfortunately was very slow. We were sat at our table 30 minutes before we got a cup of coffee. Granted, it took well over 10 minutes before we were able to order. Maybe they're understaffed today. Overall, we were here over an hour. The music volume was very high too - which made the time spent there feel even longer. I had never heard of Eat'n Park before coming to Pittsburgh, but then couldn't seem to swing a dead cat without hitting one of these establishments in the area and after seeing some of the pictures on their menu, decided to give them a whirl. All in all, a pretty forgettable affair. I thought this location--across from what appeared to be a corporate office of some sort--would be their version of a Flagship store and the best representation of the brand. If that's the case, they are in pretty rough shape! I will say that staff was very nice and the reason I went three stars instead of two as both our server and the hostess were friendly. Yet the place looks like it hadn't been vacuumed in a couple days and that made me concerned about the food safety precautions that were or were not being taken. The food was a mixed bag. The Bananas Foster shake was fantastic and worth each and every one of the 680 calories in that sucker! My turkey sandwich was a step above a premium frozen dinner. The applesauce was DOA, though I guess I should be glad I saved myself the 100 calories there. My fiancé had the fish sandwich and liked it, though I didn't care for the bite that I had, seemed to have an odd aftertaste, possibly from the breading. We got some of the famous cookies to go, currently shaped like Christmas trees instead of the traditional smiles and found them to be quite mediocre. We stopped to have lunch on a Sunday. They were a little busy. We waited 20 minutes for a table. The Hostess sat us down and NO one came over and waited on us. There were waitresses helping other customers and looked at us but never said a word to us. NO one even asked us for something to drink! We waited 20 minutes minutes and decided to leave. I am not a huge Eat'n Park fan. It's nice because there is something for everyone. I have never had a great experience. BUT !!! I was so pleasantly surprised this morning. The service was great ! Accommodating to a grandma and granddaughter!! I was so hungry for an omelette. The new Sausage & Pepper Omelette was amazingly good ! I asked for sauce on the side so I could dip ! I am a dipper My daughter enjoyed her Western and granddaughter loved the French Toast ! We will definitely return again when hungry for an omelette!! Now it's not perfect, but the food is good --and this never fails -- the menu is diverse (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, keto, all will be happy here!), and your wallet won't take a huge beating after you are done. It's good for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night. Great for groups or dining alone. I docked a star for service (at this particular location) because i haven't ever had great service here, last time we waited 20 minutes to pay and get boxes. I usually stop here about every 7-10 days for their breakfast. The pancakes or french toast is preatty good with bacon, toast, and fruit as well. Service is usually great. The box of smiley cookies are hit or miss, there were days when it was fresh out of the oven and then there are days when I would have better luck bitten a brick. I ate breakfast 4 days in a row here while I was on a business trip. I had omelettes with sausage. The omelettes were fluffy and had plenty of stuffing. They gave you 3 sausage patties which is much better than 2. The staff was quite friendly and provided quick service. The coffee was good, and they refilled it often. This was my first trip to eat'n park in a few years. We had a party of 7 so it took us just a little bit longer than usual to get seated. It still was a reasonable timeframe for 6pm of a Friday. We made the trip because they were giving away free Daniel Tiger books to each child. My daughter was more than pleased with that! When we ordered, I was surprised to see you could choose the soup and salad bar as your side with an entree. I ordered that with the whale of a cod fish sandwich for 10.99. The fish was not bad but not the best. The kids meal we ordered was grilled chicken breast with a fruit bowl. Very nice size portion. It would be nice to see eat'n park do more giveaways like this. I ordered a pint of chicken noodle soup to go. I was really disappointed. They used to give a smiley cookie with all to-go orders. Didn't get that and they didn't give any crackers. The broth was really watered down. There wasn't any chicken. It was all noodles and shredded carrots. I remember there being lots of chicken and celery in their chicken noodle soup. My husband and I waited probably about 45 minutes for our food to come out. For some reason, the cooks in the kitchen were very slow. We did not have to complain at all, because the courteous waitress noticed on her own and gave us a few updates. When our food finally came out, the waitress said that the manager was automatically giving us free meals, including the salad bar and drink for which we did not have to wait. My bacon, eggs, toast, and potatoes tasted good. We paid only for the waitress's tip. Over the past several years, we have visited this location of Eat n Park many times, and usually our service is good. We will return in the future. read more
