Second time here and service was very good- did not tell us that a large group had a tip so a few people double tipped. But service was good, food was good. Wish they had a mushroom pasta.

Spinach bacon dip

Absolutely delicious food, great service, and comfortable/casual atmosphere that is just the right amount of elegant so that you feel like you're having a nice dinner out, but not at all out of place. (Maybe that's a me thing-- but you know what I mean?) We weren't celebrating anything special but wanted a nice dinner date out, and this place checked all the boxes. The menu has options for everyone: pizza or pasta lovers, meat or vegetarian, etc. We got a few shareable apps to split (fried Brie and the spinach bacon dip), a bottle of wine, and each own entree (penne alla vodka with chicken for me). Really good sized portions and so we ended up taking some home! Perfect leftovers.

Manicotti in vodka sauce with meatballs

I had the manicotti which was probably the best I've had in a long time, if not ever. The vodka sauce was a bit runnier than I would normally expect, but ended up being fantastic. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the ricotta filling was delicious. The meatballs were good, but I wouldn't say amazing. For $22 though, I would have thought they would have included some sort of bread -- nope. Just a dish of manicotti in vodka sauce, that's it. A bit of a disappointment there. Initially, the service was very good. I was seated right away and water was brought out quickly. The server (young, thin guy with a mustache) came to my table straight away to take my drink order, and was back in a couple of minutes with that. My food was also brought out quickly. After that, my server only checked on me once, maybe 15 minutes in. He must have walked by at least a dozen times in a half hour, but never stopped at my table except the one time. Also, they automatically add a 3% surcharge for credit card payments, which they note on the menu. That should just be the part of the cost of doing business, but whatever. At least they didn't sneak it in like some restaurants do. All things considered, this experience would be somewhere between a 3.5 to 4 stars. I would go back.

We stopped by EaTo in Minneapolis while waiting for a rush passport nearby, hoping to grab a quick bite and pass the time. When we arrived around 2 p.m.The restaurant was very quiet, with only a couple of other diners. We were seated right away by the hostess, which was appreciated. Our server, Jessie, greeted us promptly and was attentive throughout our visit. After a quick look at the menu, we chose the lunch special.A chicken pesto sandwich on focaccia with a side of wild rice soup. Overall, the food was just okay. The sandwich didn't quite come together for me.The tomato jam didn't pair well with the pesto and chicken. The wild rice soup was also unexpected, as it had a tomato base rather than the creamier style I'm used to. Portions, especially for the sandwich, felt a bit small. That said, Jessie provided great service and he recommended coming back to try the vodka pasta with chicken. Thanks to the friendly and attentive service, we're open to giving EaTo another try in the future.

EaTo you was just ok. It's a great location, but the inside has a great vibe and the bar windows open up to the patio. Great during warm months. Service was fine, nothing spectacular and the food was just ok. The BBQ pizza which is a specialty on the menu, lacked flavor, although the chicken was nice and moist. The bolognese was also just ok, fairly spicy which is noted on the menu but it blocked the flavors. EaTo is fine but wouldn't run back.

eatO delivers everything you want from a great Italian restaurant. The pasta is perfectly cooked al dente, the sauces are rich and flavorful without being heavy, and the pizza has that ideal balance of crispy crust and melty cheese. Every dish tastes fresh, authentic, and thoughtfully prepared. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting--perfect for a relaxed dinner or a night out with friends. If you're craving quality Italian food that feels both comforting and elevated, eatOn absolutely delivers.

Penne alla Vodka

EaTo is a classic Italian restaurant, it has an eclectic vibe that is casual but dim lighting so also more elevated than a chain. Service was great, everyone is nice. The important part though, the food, love it. The vodka pasta has a little kick but not too crazy, I wish it was a bit creamier but overall great. The grilled chicken is grilled with rosemary which adds a great touch. The chicken parm was very good, a white sauce on the noodles and red sauce with the chicken. We get takeout from here frequently but eating here the food was obviously much better but even takeout it is still delicious!

Arancini

It been a long day conference and I saw this out the window on my drive to getting a massage. So I figured I'd stop in afterwards as I was craving some Italian food and they had pappardelle on the menu. It was semi-busy but a got seated right way. Service was great. fast and friendly. I was a bit ravished so i ordered an appetizer as well at my main course. I option for the arancini and for the main course pappardelle with bolognese. The arancini came with marinara sauce and it was not overly fried and the rice and cheese was a lovely ratio, sometime the aracini can be either to ricy or too cheeses and heavily breaded, The bolognese came out nice and hot and a good amount that I took leftovers home. I also treated myself to glass of red wine and a grapefruit san pelligrino. The alcohol needed to go on a separate tab as company was paying for the dinner, but the server had no issues. She was excellent. Nice little spot and must try if you find yourself hankering for italian food in Minnesota.

EaTo was our first meal after arriving in town & we chose it based on other reviews. The decorations/vibe is cute and comfortable. The staff were friendly and relaxed. We tried the cheese pizza puffs, the featured pizza and Muffaletta sandwich. All were out quickly, hot and tasty.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup
Tammie W.

We swung by for lunch on a beautiful and unseasonably warm October afternoon after spending a few hours at the Mill Museum. I ordered a cup of the chicken wild rice soup which was good and tomato forward which through me off at first. The pieces of shredded chicken, vegetables, and rice were lovely. I paired it with a side of the pasta salad that fell flat for me. The pasta was overcooked, lacked salt, and was quite dry. The vegetables tried to play a part but wound up a soggy mess. Our server was super friendly, the interior was spacious, and I loved the mustard yellow chairs inside. They were very comfortable and helped us relax and take our time with lunch.

Sausage happy hour pizza
Jeremy S.

I've eaten at Eato many times and their happy hour continues to be a great place for some pre-dinner. This time around I had the dry rub wings for round one, they had some slight heat, which could use a bit more. Round two was the sausage pizza, most excellent! For the cocktail I had the Eato Old Fashioned, not sure what's going on, but it used to be better. Either way, great service, very attentive to my needs.

Stopped by for drinks and had a great time! Our waitress was awesome, super attentive and friendly. I tried their floral spritz and loveeedddd it. I know a drink will be good when it comes with the nugget ice cubes mwah! The inside of EaTo is so gorgeous and their patio is even better. Unfortunately it was too smokey to sit outside but hopefully I can come back and sit there soon!

Happy hour

My girlfriend has been hyping up Eato for months, and I finally caved. We went for dinner and let me just say... I owe her an apology for doubting her. I got the chicken parmesan (her fave), and after the first bite I understood the hype. The portion was massive, which was easily enough for two people. But to be honest with you, it was so good I wasn't about to share. Service was on point, and I loved that they've got a little Italian "market"/liquor store inside. Super unique touch. We hit happy hour, and honestly half the menu had me planning for my next visit. Bottom line: if you're craving Italian in Minneapolis, definitely stop by Eato. Just don't plan on splitting the chicken parm unless you're ready to fight over it.

They changed the cheesecake purveyor and now they have a horrible product. It tastes like a block of sugar. It used to be so good. Shame.

Tucked away in its own little corner of North Loop, there is some paid parking directly outside otherwise walking from nearby street parking is possible too! The interior of the space is whimsical and fun with green and pink interior design elements, gold accents, and fun artwork! It truly feels like a special escape from reality when inside...similar to an Alice in Wonderland experience. Our server was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what to order. I particularly appreciated how our pasta came out in intentional courses from lightest to heaviest. It absolutely elevated the meal to top notch. Known for their handmade pasta, we didn't mess around with any other menu items...we just ordered four different plates of pasta: Doppio, Torteletti, Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and Tajarin! The Doppio was my favorite, with a unique double filled pasta that had a savory sunchoke filling highlighted with a pop of whipped ricotta. The Rigatoni was cozy and warm, serving up perfect comfort food vibes. The Tajarin was the ocean in a bowl and my partner's favorite, but it was a bit too salty for my palate. The food was top notch and the environment was stellar, but I did feel a bit of cognitive dissonance. The food was so grounded, earthy, and cozy yet the interior was whimsical, playful, and ethereal. This disconnect took my out of the experience a bit. Add in that the price points are a bit high, and I could see why some might have different expectations. Overall, I'm glad Dario is taking swings at providing something truly unique to the North Loop! I will absolutely be returning!

I wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor patio as the dining room was a bit loud and dim, but that seems to be part of the restaurant's modern rustic Italian aesthetic. As for the food and service, everything was top-notch. Our order was taken promptly and both our drinks and dishes arrived quickly without feeling rushed. I ordered the spirit-free Lavender Revolution, which leaned a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. The burrata was outstanding--light, refreshing, and incredible on the toasted bread. The calamari was equally impressive -- perfectly seasoned, crispy, and tender with every bite. For our entrée, we shared the Vodka Rigatoni with added shrimp and it was absolutely delicious--rich, fresh, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Overall Red Rabbit delivered a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. We can't wait to come back and work our way through more of the menu!

When my friend and I walked in, we came into a fairly spacious dimly lit space with loads of people inside. We were immediately informed that there would be over 1.5hr wait for a walk-in table. We were given the option to wait for bar seating as it would probably be quicker - and surely, it was. We did have to wait quite a bit, but it was a tolerable amount of time and definitely less than what it would have taken for an actual table. My friend and I decided to share 2 pizza pies as we wanted to get a taste of two different flavors, so we eventually settled on Korean BBQ & Perfect Pickle Pie. KOREAN BBQ As it was created by a Korean chef, it definitely had true authentic Korean flavors. As a Korean myself, I was very familiar with this soy vinaigrette and have tried this on many salad before - so, it was hitting home for me. Also, you can't go wrong with the bulgogi/beef short ribs known to all those who had Korean BBQ before. The combination of the sauces that they use for this pizza is definitely very rich, full of umami. I personally enjoyed it. PERFECT PICKLE PIE This pie was a totally different flavor to the Korean BBQ. It's less rich and maybe can be overpowered or considered more bland compared to other pizza flavors. But when tried together with the BBQ, it balances out the richness of the BBQ with the more subtle/less umami flavors. This pie gives more of a tangy/sour taste that pickles provide and more of a crunch due to the chips that are added on top. The dill is present, but not overpowering. It's a nice low-key kind of taste that people who like pickles will enjoy. Overall, the flavors were very rich in every pizza pie that we had that our mouths were bursting with flavor. It was definitely the most unique pizza toppings that I've had and can see why it's so highly regarded. I can tell that they really are meticulous with their every process and that their pizza guy by the wood fire oven is expertise in what he does. My friend and I walked out quite satisfied and I was honestly more full than I expected.

It's a very pretty establishment that brings together the classic and the modern and feels both comfortable and classy. The food is great and perfect for the aforementioned snow: it's pure comfort. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were unique and delicious. Mostarda, candied almonds, and blue cheese, with beautifully caramelized sprouts? It hits sweet, piquant, bitter, and savory along with all the textures. It's a must-try and a definite contender for top treatment of Brussels sprouts. For our second side, we got the tomato sugo, which was a very satisfying starter. Deep, rich tomato flavor, the perfect level of salt and herbs: you can taste the love and time that went into it. (The focaccia that came with was amazing, but you could totally eat this with a spoon, too.) For my main, I had the red bucatini (yes, I like tomatoes, especially when paired with time). It was absolutely awesome--the pasta was cooked perfectly and was the perfect shape for the sauce. The sauce was great. The chili oil added an excellent kick. The garlic breadcrumbs added textural interest and flavor. Again with the perfect, savory made-with-love mouthfuls. I was truly enamored with this one. For dessert, everyone went for the budino, a rich, delicious chocolate-hazelnut pudding topped with a generous mound of silky vanilla whipped cream, crunchy sugar cookie crumbles, and a drizzle of EVOO. It was perfectly balanced and just the right amount. Tying everything together was excellent service from everyone who we encountered.
