I got a gel manicure and pedicure and I was out in about an hour, maybe an hour and 15 minutes. The vibe is relaxing. It's decorated modestly and it was nice and cool on a very warm day. I also have no idea why I've seen people complain about being charged more than what they were quoted. They quoted me $78 for a gel mani and regular pedi and I paid exactly that, plus tip, at the end of my service. No hidden fees, prices are clearly represented on the walls. I had broken a toenail so I went to get extensions on my front toe as I have an event this weekend and I called beforehand to confirm they would be able to handle it. However, after the extensions were put on the first two toes I realize that they were a lot longer than they should be so I asked them to file them. Again, they were still very long and would've banged into shoes so I asked again kindly if she could please file them shorter to be below the skin. Still, they were too long and uncomfortable so I showed her a picture of what I wanted them to look like and ask that she filed them down once again. It fell as though she was trying to rush because she never once asked are these a good length she just kept proceeding to the next step and I had to stop for each time and ask her to file them down more. By the third time, I realize that I was not going to get what I wanted and it would be better if I just left them as they were and filed them down myself at home I asked her if she could just stop the pedicure without painting or doing anything further she very quickly agreed instead of asking me what the issue was so she could fix it which I also found interesting. I am not one to do something like this, as I have never walked out of an appointment in my life. I really wanted to have nice nails for my event as I rarely treat myself to getting my nails done. However, this experience was not great and I was still charged the full amount of $50, even though my nails were not even painted. I asked twice if that was a correct price and the woman confirmed that it was. I was expecting to at least be charged a little bit less since I did not get them painted or finish the service. Of course, i still tipped as I felt weird about the situation. I called later on to confirm with a manager, but I was told the manager was not in and then I could come back later. Highly disappointed, and wish they wouldve said they werent comfortable doing this service if it wasnt something they often did. Now Im out $50 and will have to do my toes myself.

The past few times, she's been pretty unprofessional doing my nails - she makes fun of the color choice, made 4 of my nails bleed last time I went, and my nails only ever last 2 weeks MAX which realistically, they should be lasting 3 weeks with gel. This time, I left the salon with my right hand nails being shorter than my left and the shape was horrible. I also specifically asked for one layer of my gel color and she left two layers on my right foot instead of removing the extra layer when I asked. She then proceeded to upcharge me (I assume for asking her to take off the extra coat that she mistakenly put on AFTER I had already asked for one coat) and I know this because I get the same treatment every time I go in (gel pedicure with hard gel manicure) and this time it was $15 more expensive. I used to be a frequent customer of Sundays original nomad location a few years ago when I worked…read morein the area. I don't really go to Sundays anymore because none of their locations are convenient to me. I stopped by the UES location as I was in the neighborhood. The space is small and shared with Sage and Sound. They were able to fit me in as a walk in for a gel pedicure and removal. Some of the nice touches from the old Sundays were lacking. For one, I wasn't offered a drink or a cup of warm tea like they used to do in nomad. I saw the tea kettle sitting off to the side, unused. My nail tech was Diana. She was pretty careless when it came to removing my gel polish and was pretty rough. She was so rough with taking off the gel with the nail file that she actually rubbed some of the skin on my big toe so raw that it hurt to even dip that toe into hot water after my pedicure. I alerted her to this in person and she adjusted her technique to be gentler. The polish job was well done. The pedicure chairs were pretty comfortable though they are not standard chairs with massage features. Overall, I think Sundays has become overpriced for what they offer. They are no different than a QQ Nails for example but much more expensive.

You can eat at the cafe Isle of Us, spend the day at the health spa and get a pedicure or manicure. I was there on Mother's Day. It was very busy. I'm not sure if the employee was new but I was sent to another area to make a appointment. I found all employees in these businesses to lack friendly communication and to show any knowledge or enthusiasm about their business. I'll be interested to see if anyone else does a review after I add Sunday's to Yelp. If I return it will be a weekday. The technicians, equipment and space are all clean. They have that going for them.
