Excellent bento choices for lunch! The side dish items you receive with the main bento dish makes the bentos exceptional. The portions are huge and the price is reflected based on that. We got one teriyaki salmon bento and one spicy pork bento. We were amazed by how the big portions were when we picked up the food! We thought they were giving us four bentos based on how filled the bag was. The salmon was definitely over cooked and the spicy pork was also more on the stiff side. However all the rest of the bento dishes were amazing! Especially their sushi rolls and dumplings. Next time I definitely plan to get more of their sushi items rather than the meat or the cooked seafood. They are taking great precautions during this time and glad to see they are pretty busy. Very disappointed! The second I walked in I was trying to find a nice way to leave. The prices on the menu are insane. They're equal to the nicest places in town. If you're going to charge almost $12 for a spicy tuna roll it better be one hell of a tuna roll. Nobu charges that much and it is worth every penny. But, they have lots of great reviews so I figured I'd give them a shot. I found them to be mediocre at best. The miso soup had no flavor. The purple rice is disgusting. Everything is very two-dimensional. I would've been much happier sitting at the sushi bar at AJ's grocery store. I can't figure out how anyone would give this place five stars. There are literally hundreds of better sushi places for less money. I cannot think of a sushi place that I like less than Echo , maybe the prepackaged shit at Safeway. read more

Yowsa this place has Black Rice which was very new to me and surprisingly yummy! Another thing that Echo has is the fastest Sushi Chef's I have EVER seen. This place is deceiving, it is in a strip mall with limited seating. Any way you look at it it is worth the wait although we did call ahead for a group (my daughters birthday) and they were very accommodating. This is my favorite place! It's located in the Tramonto Marketplace off carefree hwy. i live nearby but this place is worth driving for! It's a small hole in the wall sushi place with a couple tables & sushi bar seating. They have black rice which sounds odd but it is the most moist & flavorful rice I've ever had. My review is based upon a carry out experience. Echo has no website - when I called to ask where I could view the menu I was told to go online because people had taken pictures of the menu....okay. For obvious reasons this isn't ideal - you don't know if the menu is up to date and the picture quality isn't great. Sushi is such a popular take out item this should really be addressed. The restaurant itself is cozy so if you are in a larger group this may not be the best fit, but as a general rule, I really like small sushi spots. One thing that really threw me was the black rice, it wasn't for me. the taste and texture was slightly different than what I was accustomed to and I prefer the traditional. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. Using black rice is not the same as using white sticky rice. I really wanted to like this joint esp since it looks like it is independently owned. My boyfriend and I ordered the carefree roll, cherry blossom, fresh bluefish tuna roll, and spicy seafood ramen. I moved out here from the SF Bay Area and have been dying to find some good ramen places around. The ramen was on the bland side but good enough to want to stop by off the highway occasionally. The shrimp was my favorite cus it had really good texture still. So far this spicy seafood soup comes in a far second to the one at Haru Sushi, with any other place not even worth it to try. I was really disappointed that the sushi rolls were drenched with eel sauce or any other sauce it comes with. It takes away from the natural fish taste. If you scrape some of the eel sauce off you might be able to get a better taste of the rice, cucumbers, seaweed, and fish mixed inside. It was my first time having black rice and I loved that part. My fiancé and I decided to give this place a go for our traditional New Year's Eve sushi dinner. They use black rice (looks purple) in their sushi which is a bit sweeter. We ordered 4 rolls (3 pictured), some gyoza and of course had miso soup to start with. First things first, the service was really wonderful. Everyone from the server to the chef were smiling and we were greeted the moment we crossed the threshold. The small restaurant was actually about half full already but we were seated and didn't wait a minute before menus were in our hands and drink orders taken. Also I should mention our hot green tea kettle was never empty... The miso came out not long after our order was placed, followed quickly with piping hot gyoza. A great start so far. The sushi came out fast, but one roll at a time which was perfect. We hadn't finished one before the next was placed on the table. Not only did they taste great but the presentation was excellent as well. The place was A-OK "plus a little" so I rounded up to four stars. They have a diverse menu including sushi/sashimi, noodle/soup dishes (udon, yakisoba), Ramen (miso or spicy seafood), fried rice, poke bowls, and entrees like chicken katsu, Korean bulgogi, spicy pork, teriyakis (chicken or salmon)..... I tried the "echo special" for lunch - $11 includes: miso soup, salad, 6 pieces of sushi and 8 pieces of California roll (the latter has never been of interest to me but I was inclined to try it and I have to say that I actually enjoyed it.) The fish tasted fresh although that slice of snapper at first seemed a bit dry upon appearance. Overall, I really enjoyed the visit - service was nice however only one server at lunchtime so be prepared to wait a little if coming between noon and 1 pm or so. Overall, prices seem on the average-to-high-side but we'll explore that more later. I liked the smaller size of this place (like maybe six or seven sushi bar seats and maybe eights table in all however it doesn't feel cramped.) The decor is clean and simple yet appealing.
