Been to this location a few times. The service is always friendly. The sushi is pretty good for the price but we have only ordered off the happy hour so perhaps the special sushi rolls are more tasty. The gyoza was exceptional !!! I've gone here a lot over the years and have noticed the last 2 times that the food portions are smaller, food quality has gone down and it's considerably more expensive. I think they charge around $3-4 dollars more per item and the value just isn't there compared to similarity costed food. I've tried so many of their rolls but usually order the Climax and garlic edamame. This time the roll was smaller, had less of everything on it, notably the sauces on top, and the salmon was mushy and did not taste fresh. The garlic edamame was great though. I'm at a point that if I'm paying this much and the quality is now like this, I'd rather make the trek to Sushi Brokers. We came in on our day off excited to try a new sushi spot and were seated right away. We started with two Arnold Palmers and edamame. Unfortunately, the Arnold Palmers tasted like watered-down lemonade with no tea, and about half of the edamame wasn't salted. When we wanted to ask for replacement drinks, order sushi, and get salt, we waited around 15 minutes without anyone checking on us--even though there was only one other guest dining and multiple employees working. My boyfriend eventually had to get up and find a server just to place our order and request what we needed. After another 15+ minutes, our sushi rolls came out, but my replacement drink still hadn't arrived. We also weren't given soy sauce at any point and had to get up and grab it ourselves. When the rolls were dropped off, they were set down abruptly, and the interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. The overall energy made us feel like we weren't wanted there. Other odd things included receiving ginger, eel sauce, and spicy mayo in to-go containers even though we were dining in. We weren't checked on until we were nearly done with our first two rolls, and even then, the interaction felt rushed and indirect. When I asked for a manager, I was told none was present, and they wouldn't provide a way to contact one. We also had to track someone down just to get our check. The food itself was good--we really enjoyed the Firecracker and First Love rolls, though the baked lobster roll wasn't our favorite. One of us received the nicest piece and portion of fish, the other received three end tails with huge fat grizzle running down then middle. Why would you do that ? It was not sent back for two reasons, we were in a group and there was a time constraint. This was not appreciated and you did not get away with anything. The teriyaki sauce was barely there and the salad was drowned in dressing. He did say the rice was good. Overall it was better than store bought but we definitely have had better for cheaper prices. One lady was getting our water while another man took our order on the sushi menu. Me and my girlfriend ordered about six rolls in total and was hoping they would bring them out in a timely fashion. But they brought out all of the rolls at one song, one big platter, which isn't too big of an issue but by the time you finish your last role, the fish that is supposed to be cold starts getting lukewarm, which personally is not the best sushi experience. I had empty water multiple times, as well as I ordered three sushi rolls for myself, and my girlfriend ordered a bowl of Ramen by the time both of our food came out. My sushi was warm. It was probably about a 10 to 15 minute difference from when my food came out versus her food coming out so I kind of just sat there and waited until they served us both Like I said, not bad fish just bad service.
