Saw Lords of Acid at the Echoplex and it was a great show! The venue is pretty large inside and there's a patio outside to get some air. Parking is horrible and you're lucky if you can find any nearby. We had to park by the lake.

Friday night's show of Rainbow Kitten Surprise at the Echoplex reminded me why I love live music. The venue itself has that classic underground L.A. vibe--dark, intimate, and gritty in the best way. The sound filled the room perfectly, heavy on the bass but still clear enough to catch every lyric and detail from the stage. I just loved it so much! The energy was insane the moment the lights went down. Being that close to the artist felt almost unreal--there's no bad view in the place, and it really feels like you're part of the performance instead of just watching it. The crowd was hyped, responsive, and you could tell everyone was there for the music, not just the scene. I would definitely go back. Parking is very tricky. I lucked out and paid nothing at 9pm in a lot FREE after 9p up to 14 hrs

Came here for Emo Night. The place is clean and the staff did an impeccable job at keeping the bathrooms sanitary. The drinks are strong and delicious. I would recommend looking at the themed specials. Acoustics in this place is pretty well done. You get sound throughout the building without aggravating your ears. Had a blast overall!

Came out for the American Hi-Fi & Eve 6 show at the Echoplex, and overall had a solid experience. First off, getting there can be a little tricky if you're not familiar with the area, tucked under Sunset Blvd., the Echoplex entrance is down a discreet alley off Glendale Blvd., with minimal signage. If you're not paying attention, you might miss the turn entirely. Parking can also be a hassle, so rideshare or arriving early is your best bet. The good news? They've fixed their ventilation issue. The air-conditioning was pumping last night, and it made a big difference. It didn't feel stuffy or overheated like in the past, which is huge for a packed, high-energy show. I was front and center and had a great view of the stage. The sound quality was decent, crisp enough for a smaller venue, though not the cleanest mix I've ever heard. The middle of the floor can have slightly distorted sound as the speakers banks are on the side of the sage. If you're standing toward the back, I can see how sightlines might be slightly obstructed depending on the crowd, but it's manageable. Bar service was efficient with multiple drink lines but be prepared for typical LA venue prices. A 16 oz. can of Liquid Death water set me back $6. All in all, I'd definitely come back for another show. The vibe is gritty but real, and the energy in the room when the band's playing is hard to beat.

I enjoy visiting this small venue. I've had a chance to watch a couple of my favorite bands, and it was a great time! The entrance is in the alley along Glendale Blvd. Parking is decent. There's metered parking on the nearby street and a lot just a block east of the venue (on Lemoyne St), with mobile app payment availability. If you're lucky, you may snag a spot for free (after a specific time) along Glendale Blvd and near Echo Park Lake. I usually park in the paid lot since it doesn't cost much and it's lit. Upon entering the venue, security and walk-through detectors only take a few seconds. They do check bags for content and size. Be sure to check the website for restrictions. The staff has been chill for the most part, as well. The bathrooms are clean, which is a big plus. Inside, the space is small but spacious when it isn't packed. It's been comfortable when I've been here. The stage is average height, but people in the back still get a decent view. The sound overall is good. There are a few muffled areas, but it is still enjoyable from anywhere. The inside ceiling support pillars block a little of the view but also have shelves to rest your drinks on. Some VIP seats are on the front side, and benches are along the back walls if you need to sit. There are also two bar areas to quench your thirst. Inflated drink prices are expected with venues like this, and all transactions are cashless, so be sure to bring your cards. If merch is available, it will be stationed along the back area. I am looking forward to more concerts here!

Came here to see Clipping. The venue was great and I don't have any complaints except having to walk around the building to enter, but you can exit through the other part of the venue? Didn't really make sense to me, but whatever.

BEWARE of this bartender with glasses. Worst experience EVER as a customer ordering a drink. I was waiting to get a drink in the side of the bar,the bartender saw me,came to me and started to almost yell at me,saying that that's not a place to order a drink(there's not a sign in place that says that) and that there's actually a line of people waiting to get a drink (there was not) and that's she's doing me a favor getting me a drink.I said I was sorry,I didn't know, and she proceeded to just get my drink and charge me being really mad,she snatched my card from my hand and didn't show me the machine to see the price and the tip.I did not get the chance to tip which I would have not tipped since that was an awful service and then she made me cry.Basically ruined my whole night. Later,my husband went to get another drink for him, never told her anything about me,and he also had an awful experience with her,she literally snatched his drink from him and didn't want to give it to him.Pretty ridiculous! I don't know what kind of venue this is that their staff treats their customers like this! I will NEVER come back here, and if you come here just make sure to NOT get a drink with her,Do NOT tip her and honestly,I hope she got fired by now, this incident happened in August.

I am rating this location based on what purpose it appears to serve, which is to be an almost grimy, underground concert venue that serves alcohol and caters to the artsy alternative people who have moved to live in this area (many ostensibly from out of state). I rarely go to concerts, but I knew I had to make the journey to see my girl, Rachel Chinouriri. The information surrounding this event could have better handled, namely I was confused about where the Echoplex was, and why it was impossible to access it from the Echo, even though they appear to be the same building. I had to walk around a block and go under a bridge to find this venue. Thankfully I am a cis man with good GPS-guided navigation skills, but my goodness it is not ideal trying to get to a concert in the evening like that. Separately, I wish people had better concert etiquette. Please do not fill the deliberate path I have preserved for safe exit. And please do not block my view that I had curated for maybe half an hour by standing and adjusting my position in the same spot. People have no social tact these days, my goodness. Honestly, I was happy enough to be in this space with the singers, although I forgot to bring a mask and was super paranoid about catching some airborne virus (COVID isn't over folx!). I luckily was healthy still after leaving. I enjoyed the experience of live music. I enjoyed crying to Rachel Chinouriri pontificating about love. I enjoyed singing along to my favorite songs of hers ("Hills" and "Never Need Me"), the latter of which appears to be her most popular song as everyone was noticeably singing along to it. Would I return here for another concert? Maybe if one of my favorite acts performs here. But Rachel Chinouriri was a rare opportunity and I don't think I want to bother with trying to find parking (or driving in general) in Echo Park ever again.

It depends on the show. Some will be 21+, 18+, or all ages. Check their website for specific dates/shows.

Doorman seemed to be in a bad mood and the vibe immediately felt off when we walked in. $72 after tip for a pizza, fries, and two cocktails. I wish I got a beer but I saw good reviews about the drinks. Bartenders had no personality and weren't hospitable. There's no security managing the line outside so people were cutting and causing confusion. There stage is low so unless you make it in the first three rows you can't see anything. The opening DJ was placed off to the side in the crowd, and had bad transitions just fading tracks in and out. They had the subwoofers off for the opener so you mainly got piercing highs and low quality mids. Once the main act went on the sound system was lacking overall and sounded blasted at times when the music got loud, even with the subwoofers on. It got really hot in the crowd towards the end. Saw so many good reviews about this place but the experience was disappointing and underwhelming. I wouldn't go back even if I had free tickets to an artist I liked.

First off, the parking situation is a nightmare so you better be down to uber if you want any prayer of getting there otherwise you'll be circling the block for 30+ minutes trying to find a spot. Second, the beer was way over priced. You're looking at $17 + tip for a decent sized beer, or paying $11 for a cheap can. That's like Coachella pricing, absolute robbery. Third and probably the biggest turn off, was that the second the last band played their last note, the bar immediately closed and started kicking people out. No final call, no grace period to hang out, just gtfo. Zero hospitality. Overall, I liked the space itself, especially the upstairs lounge / balcony area, but the cons just far outweigh the pros with this place. Logistically terrible location and zero hospitality to speak of paired with overly expensive drinks and not particularly friendly staff did not make me want to come back here. We were feeling very bold as one does when you are glutes deep in a Hazy IPA and a second Stout so We said "Perfect. All three will do." Our eyes were beaming, our spirits were lifting, our bellies were grumbling with anticipation. After a brief three minutes, there she was. The gleaming glizzy. Doused in an intricate, interwoven condiment presentation. So immaculate, so beautiful. With such a moment it was only appropriate that we share the gleaming glizzy Lady and the Tramp style. Yes, sexy indeed. As we hold up both ends of the glizzy to our mouths, locking eyes we simultaneously take one big bite. And then... The most overpowering sensation dominates our mouths, our noses, our eyes even. In a state of shock, teetering on a state of confusion and then rage we jolted. WHAT IS IN THIS HOTDOG??? Because that was not just any plain yellow American mustard. It was a pulsating fire rampaging through our nasal cavities. It was like the world had stood still and we lost sense of gravity. This is not to be confused with a disbelief of happiness. It was a disbelief of deceit. Once we grabbed a hold of ourselves and a grip of reality we waved down the fine gentleman and said, "Is this horseradish???" To which he retorted, "No, everyone asks that. It's Spicy Dijon" Bewildered we looked at each other and knew we were thinking the same thing. A piece of us died that night. In that bar. Because that was Spicy Dijon mustard coursing through our blood, our veins, forever seared in our memories. We were lied to. Made to believe that this gleaming glizzy was normal. Beautiful and unsuspecting. Not even the coldest winter day on the snowy slopes compares to the journey we took with this hotdog. Anyway service 10/10, vibes and drinks spectacular. Will be coming back!
