I helped a friend move today and he had eco movers as his contracted movers. The gong show that I got to witness is absolutely unparalleled. I had used eco movers in the past without problem but todays crew really took the cake. My friend has an appointment for 1-3pm. At 2:30pm he got a call that the movers would show up around 4pm and get in touch as soon as they'd be on their way. We had not heard anything by 3:55 so friend repeatedly tried calling them without any luck. Complete radio silence until he finally got a hold of them at 4:45 at which point they told them they could give him an estimate in an hour. Seriously? Needless to say friend was not super impressed and let them know that that was completely unacceptable. Fast forward more phone calls and the movers showed up at 5:35pm. And oh boy. Moving coordinated or fast was not their speciality. The building my friend moved out of has a huge loading dock, a dream for any moving company. But even that prompted a lenghty discussion on how to best pull in. How these guys deal with street parking I do not know. Then the moving stuff started. Note that friend and I had already started moving things, espcially breakable and odd shaped stuff. Literally all that was left were about 4 pieces of furniture and square boxes that were easy to stack. It took a three man crew almost 1hr and 30mins to get everything in their truck. The lack of pace and the sheer incompetence was a sight to behold. I did stay for the start of the unloading and the cherry on top was one of the guys complaining what a long day he's had. It could probably have been half as long if they worked more efficiently. I left right before they were done and overall it took them about 4 hrs, including the 15min trip from one place to the next. And that's for moving one room. Not an entire apartment. The only person in the three man group who knew what he was doing was the lead. But there is only so much you can do when your team is Tweedledee and Tweedledum. So with eco movers you might get a good crew like I have had in the past. I liked that these guys were careful with our items. But they were very inefficient. At their rate i expected to work with a more professional team. Besides that there are many side charges that just adds up to the cost. For example after unloading all items to the final destination, they would still charge you for the time it takes them to put their utilities in the truck in order. At the end of the day I was charged for 3.75 hours of service even though I had only 6 boxes and a sofa and a bad that I had disassembled. read more

How about the 'professional' response to the better business bureau complaint? That's posted for the public to view so there's no way to lie about it. As I stated in my original communication to the business and to the better business bureau, I had no reason to believe the box of items was lost or damaged at the point of departure as I watched the movers load each and every item and locked the container myself. It was a pods container to be exact which means that I used my own lock and key to safely store/lock the items. I've used pods a number of times and my items were never damaged nor misplaced. With long distance moves I pack with caution and use a lot of bubble wrap. My cross country moves in th past yielded zero breakage. Additionally, to be clear, the initial refund was due to damage done to the apartment by the eco movers while bringing in my belongings AND for slow service (I have this documented in email of course). I was also very clear that one of the movers was extremely unprofessional and quite frankly made me feel uncomfortable. Again, I've used many movers in the past and I've never experienced such horrible service and general creepiness. I have a right to publicly post my feedback for others to read and consume on their own. And the business engaging in this manner (mind you after the ridiculously unprofessional response in the better business bureau forum) with false statements is bullying and obviously desperate. People reading these reviews have a right to hear what all customers have to say. Since eco movers' response to my review told some lies and cover ups, I have a right to clarify and set the record straight again. read more

I just moved last week and used Eco-Movers. The experience was top notch. I have used movers in the past - some good experiences and some bad. This was one of the best experiences I have had for a couple reasons. One - the quote process. Grant actually came out to our house to survey all of the things we had to move rather than just quoting me over the phone as other movers did. That made me feel confident that the quote he gave me was accurate (and it was very accurate). Two - the actual move. The guys who came were fast, courteous and personable. The guys did a fantastic job and worked hard. I never once saw them stop for a break. Grant even stopped by to make sure everything was running smoothly and that we were happy. Rico & Adelmo are professionals! They arrived right on time, did not waste any time, and were still able to ensure that none of our items were damaged in transit. We have a large sectional couch that is a complete pain to move, and we were honestly worried that it wouldn't fit through the door in our new place. Arrived a few minutes before their scheduled arrival time, and were professional, courteous, and fast. They treated all my items with great care and provided recommendations on how to best wrap / pad various furniture items. Great customer service on the phone made for a good first impression since we called the day before we needed them, last minute was not a problem! They arrived on time (cheery and friendly!!)with a heads up phone call to let us know they were on their way. These guys are amazing. I gave them about a week's notice and they gave me the best price of any place else. Starving Students never even returned my phone calls or e-mails that entire week. Eco-movers moved me into a townhouse in Redmond with tons of stairs. They both arrived early, smiling, and ready to work. They worked their butts off. It was hot but their cheerful attitudes did not changed during the entire move. These guys move FAST. In fact, they move so fast that you are better off standing back and giving them direction on where you want stuff to go. I was nervous about moving into my new place and a new neighbor gave them a hard time about my truck blocking his driveway. They just blew it off and we laughed about it for about 15 minutes. They put me at ease and reassured me not to worry about the guy. It was like moving and therapy all in one! I have recommended Grant and Chris to everyone as the hands-down BEST movers I have ever hired and I've hired others. I'm sure they have kinks to work out in their business but it's rare to find such nice, hard workers. I had to dock a star. It was a fairly good, reasonably painless experience, but there were issues. Needed to do what I figured would be a simple move: anything too large for me to move myself, I wanted the movers to move. Eco-Movers is highly regarded on Yelp, so I decided to give them a shot. I went through great pains to minimize how much I needed them to move so that I could make most efficient use of their time (and my wallet). The first negative: I had filled out the form online with very specific details, only to get an error. Turns out the form did submit, but the confirmation page is broken. When the call came in from one of the Eco-Movers representatives, he proceeded to ask me for information that was on the form. I don't like that. Call it a nitpick if you will. It bugs me. After I reminded him that the information was on the form, he found it and all was well. I made it clear that anything too large for me to move myself, should go, and called out my platform, mattresses and sectional specifically (this is important). The appointment was booked "between 8 and 9am" on Sunday, which usually means I'll get called after 8:30am. I stressed a desire to keep it at 4 hours max. 7:30am Sunday, I get a call from the driver; he's on his way and he'll be at my place around 7:50am. Sure enough he shows up ahead of schedule. Both gentlemen are extremely polite and respectful as I point them to what I want moved. They begin moving the furniture; the wall did get gouged a bit, but my sectional is rather large, so I let it slide. I then notice that they're out at the truck, pulling in the ramp and starting the truck. Which leads me to the second negative: I dash outside to ask them if they're getting the platform. The driver (I forget his name) says, "I asked you twice if you wanted the platform" - he didn't. I actually went to great pains to point out the mattresses AND the platform as needing to go. What I said was NOT going was the bedside table, as it's a separate piece and small enough for me to move. I got the sense he wasn't really listening, and he struck me as a bit frustrated at the whole deal. The other driver, "Justin", though younger by at least 15 years, was the consummate professional the while time. So they proceed to disassemble the platform though I warned them the previous guys took 3 hours. This is where they shined a little: it took him all of 30 minutes to have my platform disassembled and in the truck. Now, I was watching both of them take parts down to the truck, and I'm fairly certain I saw everything go that should have; unfortunately, negative #3 reared its ugly head: when it got put in, the lampshade from my attached lamp was disconnected rather forcefully and the LED bulb that cost me $10 was missing. I'm not sure if they removed it and left it at the old property; if so I'll update this review. Still, if it's there when you move it, it should be there when it arrives at the destination. Off we go to the new property. We got there well in time, and they got everything in the new place without incident. They even moved some junk the previous owner had left behind out into another room for me and reassembled my platform (minus my light board) in yet another 30 minute record time. 4 hours exactly. I tipped them both pretty decent for their speed and diligence even though there were mistakes. So to break things down: - Getting the items from the old place: I give them a C+. Considering I was only moving 9 large, obvious items, there were too many mistakes made. LED bulbs don't unscrew themselves, lampshades don't forcefully remove themselves. - Transporting the items: I give them a B. The recumbent bike had a dial removed that shouldn't have been, as it didn't have anything to do with shipping. The lampshade and LED bulb missing really did bother me. - Delivery to the new place: I give them an A-. The only thing that dropped this was the fact that they parked on the sidewalk despite me telling them that the rules are pretty strict about doing that. Their speed, willingness to put the bed back together, willingness to put things where I wanted them, etc. were all positive notes. They also went over a few minutes but kept the cap at 4 hours, likely due to the miscommunication about the platform. Once you get the stuff out of your house then it becomes a great experience - depending of course on what you're transporting. It's getting the stuff out of the house that was a bit painful. Make sure you're crystal clear about what needs to be moved, where, and how. Create a written list and give it to them if you must. They won't stop to confirm before leaving; they'll just take off and might miss things. Would I use them again? Probably. But there are definitely improvement opportunities. read more

I used them twice in one week for a unique move. The second half of the move also had a unique request to take two pieces of antique furniture to a restoration place. No extra charge for that, just time. This company is extremely accommodating and well worth the cost. I would use them again in a heartbeat and probably will the next time I move. TIP: They work fast. If you have a complicated move or a lot of stuff, like I did, take 10 min to do a walk through and make sure you have gotten everything you want them to get. If you think you don't want them to take something, trust me, you want them to do it. I regretted not having them take things because I was worried about theft or breakage (past move trauma). These are professional movers and I didn't understand that until after the first part of the move as compared to the company we used to move TO the west coast. Night and day. They will wrap your garbage basket, brooms, whatever in blankets if you didn't box it and it will go on the truck and come off of it. You even get to inspect the truck after the move to make sure they didn't miss anything. 1. They treated the furniture with extra care, lots of blankets. My only feedback was that I wish they had listened to me the first time I told them to take the drawers out due to how heavy the long dresser is (solid mahogany). They didn't, wrapped it all up, lifted it, and had to undo it all to take out the drawers and do it all over again. Thankfully they were fast, but still...It's not the first move it's been through and I knew what I was talking about. 2. Kudos - they took apart a piece that had been missed on the first move and put it in my car so I could bring it to the original destination. That saved me a headache. 3. Kudos - They were able to navigate all of the big furniture around some tricky angles with no dents or dings, I was really impressed! 4. Frustration - Partly my mistake for not paying closer attention and partly misunderstanding or lack of communication on the part of the foreman. I thought I had made it clear that only the two dressers were going to the restoration shop (kind of obvious that they are the antique pieces). I didn't notice it hadn't been offloaded at the residence. I had made it all the way to a rather timely errand I needed to complete when I get a frustrated call from my partner telling me they'd dropped the bookcase off at the restoration place. However, they didn't complain and didn't charge extra, they just picked it right back up and met me back at the residence to deliver it and put it exactly where I wanted it. I leave these details because both of the crews I worked with on both jobs worked really fast, really efficiently, with a LOT of care and expert attention to detail. The mistakes that were made were a combination of MY lack of attention and exhaustion and slight lack of communication. Had I gone with these guys to the restoration place, I would have noticed the bookcase right away and been able to prevent the extra time, but they fixed that mistake without extra charge, so I really can't complain. They were friendly, professional, and didn't complain even after the mistake. HIRE THEM!!! Oh - and I found out they even have a training facility with trucks and pieces of furniture and everything. I watched them load the truck too, because I was worried about the dressers (move trauma) and they were so careful about putting extra cardboard around them and strapping them in. read more

This was our first time hiring movers...we're never going back to bribing friends with beer. This was 100% worth the money. I wasn't there to witness the actual move, but my husband says the two guys who came to move our 2-bedroom apartment were top notch. They came early moved everything without a touch of damage to our stuff and were out by the time I came home from work. One star docked because they were over the estimated budget by $100. They took 5 hours to move our two bedroom apartment and actually had to make two trips. I kind of assumed there would be three guys since it sounded like that was kind of the standard from other companies, but they did our whole move with just two. This was my first time hiring professional movers, so while I finally felt like somewhat of a grown-up, I was a little nervous. However, Dayrl and his team immediately put any worries I had to rest! They were communicative about arrival, came on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and made sure all of my stuff was taken care of. The team was friendly and worked quickly to pack everything up. They even came up with a solution when our odd shaped love-seat refused to fit in our odd shaped hallway. They arrived fairly promptly, and their 15 minute alerts were accurate. Overall my partner and I thought they did a great job with packing individual items, they worked quickly and efficiently, and were always polite to us. We did not notice any issues with any of our stuff. We had a very mixed experience with Eco-Movers. The pros: the three-person team that helped us pack up our remaining things was excellent. They were timely, communicative, and efficient. The cons: (1) the cost estimate for packing up was off by quite a bit. The labor estimate was relatively accurate, but the box count was extremely low and we therefore paid far more than anticipated (we had built in some buffer and recognize estimates aren't perfect). We were surprised but the additional box cost given that we don't have a ton of things and that we packed up many things ourselves prior to the packing team's arrival. (2) I would never recommend the team that actually moved our boxes and furniture. Three out of the four team members were slow and extremely chatty with each other at the expense of getting things done. I ran circles around them -- I understand they need to be slower in order to be careful, but it was kind of ridiculous. Our neighbors all commented on their pace. Additionally, one team member was particularly careless, breaking a few items, banging and denting walls, and irreparably damaging some of our furniture. Eco Movers offered us a token refund but it was nothing near what we felt was fair given their slowness, damage, and the fact that after one hour we decided that one of us had to be there during the rest of the move in order to make sure they didn't do more damage (and we're glad we did stay because we prevented multiple accidents). It completely wasted our time and was, overall, a headache. read more

I'm brand new to Seattle by way of Texas. I needed to buy a couch after moving to town to sleep on till the rest of my furniture arrived a week after me. So I decided to buy a couch in town and get it delivered day of purchase. But the furniture stores were quoting 2-3 days for delivery. Yelp and Eco-Movers to the rescue. I found Eco-Movers by being one of the highest rated moving companies in Seattle on Yelp. I decided to call them up. Turns out they were available the day I needed couch picked up from store and delivered to my empty apartment. They also do single or few items moves by charging for just an hour at a very very reasonable price. That's hard to come by in any city. The whole process was super smooth and painless. The lady I spoke with on the phone was friendly. The drivers/delivery guys were awesome. They knew exactly where to park (which is tough in the South Lake Union area) and were in and out in a flash. They took the time to unwrap and set down the couch and carried the wrapping trash to the dumpster for me. They were extremely helpful and friendly. This will be my goto moving company for small or big moves in the city. It was great service during a frustrating and tiring transition from out of state. read more

We have used Eco Movers for our last two moves (2015 and 2018) and in both cases the team handling our move was effective and careful. They were ontime for the given appointment at 8:30 AM, and came prepared for our two bedrooms worth of possession we had in our single bedroom apartment This last move the foreman, Darren, and his two helpers (Devin and Eric) had our several dozen boxes and furniture out of our 2nd floor apartment, and into our new home in just over four hours. We chose to move with Eco Movers in large part because we didn't want to waste a ton of cardboard boxes, despite having more convincing meetings with other moving companies. However, they ended up using a lot of cardboard boxes for books, so that was a bummer. They got the job done but I was shocked at what a ragtag bunch of people they brought together as a moving team. The movers didn't even know each other's names, didn't have a clear leader, did not seem experienced w moving (eg setting a carpet in the right location was drawn out as if they hadn't ever done it as a team before, nearly knocked out our dining room fixture...) and were very inefficient with time. It took from 9am til 6:30pm to move us 4 blocks. Granted it was a 4 BR house but it was all thoroughly packed up the day before. They also broke our kitchen table, so it is now unusable, and dirtied our brand new master bed headboard because they didn't wrap it. A big disappointment. We definitely would not move with them again. read more
