All of a sudden our air conditioner stopped blowing cold air ... my place was 85°. Paul showed up the next day and figured out the problem pretty quick. I highly recommend this company. This was the only company that didn't tell me I had to wait for a couple of days and I called so many places! Call them if you have a problem!! read more

Our AC was old and costing us way too much! We got a couple of quotes and ended up going with EconoAir - great decision!! We met with the CEO Mike - great guy, very informative. We decided to have everything replaced... unit in the house, unit outside, and all ducking. Great service - the installation crew was very professional and did not mind all of my crazy questions. The tech, Jason has been great to work with - we have had to have someone out for a minor tweak- service was quick and they made sure everything was right!! The $$ we spent has been well worth it this summer read more

Professional, insured, and clean company. I would hire them again, the only downside is that they harass you (they call you and call you until you make an appointment with them) which is very annoying. Especially when the sales dept., is asking you to confirm an appointment which you haven't even booked yet!? 2) When we bought solar panels, they forgot to "disclose" that solar panels need 2x (winter and summer) tune-ups, which it would void the guarantee if we don't get this done through them. read more

Great service! My AC unit was on the fritz (no longer cooling my house) and after a disappointing diagnostic from a competitor stating that my entire AC unit had to be replaced, Chris was able to troubleshoot the problem and bring my AC Unit back to spec. He was thorough and very professional. Chris provided provided me with 4 different options to not only repair the unit but also to prolong the life of our AC (its 12 years old.) Would recommend Econo Air to anyone for repairs, maintenance and installation. read more

Very bad experience. Didn't keep Saturday apointment. Had to reschedule. Employee gave us a quote for basic stuff, freon refill, clean coil, and replace a capacitor, $700. Had to come back the next day and then said the coil was clogged and needed to be replaced. Only $2500 complete. I said no way. I mentioned the bad reviews on yelp and that I didn't feel comfortable paying that kind of money until I checked with another company. Employee said, "give me a call if you get a better price." Luckily, all I was out was $70 for the service call. I called a local company that had good reviews on yelp and they came out the next day. Filled up with freon and defrosted the coil only $160. Air cond works great now. Very scarry that I could have been out $2500+ when it only took $160 to get the job done. read more

So, I'm updating my previous review because I was contacted by an extremely pleasant guy, Daniel, from Customer Service. He apologized for what happened and offered to give me my money back, which they did. They also offered me two free services which I'll decline since I found a company I thoroughly trust. Thank you Daniel for going out of way to solve this issue and if all your employees were this good we wouldn't have had a problem. read more

We had a problem with our air condition recently. We call econo air come out as they had installed the unit 8 years ago. The technician, Ryan, was very courteous and competent. He solved our problem quickly and made certain the entire unit was cleaned and in good order. We would recommend this company to anyone needing this type of service. read more

I'm very surprised to see all these bad reviews. I've been with this company for a few years and have never had anything but exceptional customer service and really good technicians. Every time I have needed a service the technician has arrived in the time slot I was told they would arrive at and they have been nothing short of professional. I highly recommend the company. I've never been let down. read more

My first review so I apologize if I don't know the protocol.. On the sixth of this month record 115 degree weather. To give perspective need to describe what we do... We run a special needs facility and my mom (88 yrs) also resides in the home. We, do a check on our facility to ensure we have air working over the hot summer... Did dye test and system test all good.. Yes, air down on the hottest day on record. We are 13+ years customer. To their credit sent someone the next day ( same guy who got it wrong twice now three times) no fix, but a $4000 quote and no definitive date for repair. Lucky us, we got a small company in Montclair to help us (Appliance Masters Montclair Ca.) Frank (owner) took my call and even though I was way out of his area he showed up to help our facility. Never asked what my previous quote was just what the problem was then to send him a picture of the unit model number to be prepared to fix our problem. This small company not only fixed the problem on that visit it only cost us little over $500. Econo air corporate never returned my request for help and it took 2 calls to finally get econo air Brea to call me. They did offer if I send them a copy of my bill they might be able to compensate me. I said no, they don't get it, its not the money I spent it is how I trusted them and was ready to pay 4k on a fix that could have been handled that day. I have the invoice just don't know how to post it so all you know a fix that day would have protected my facility for far less than this professional organization.. Summer in Calif is not HVAC companies opportunities to take advantage. Hope this message allows you to know, buyer be ware!!! read more

I was also stunned to read all the bad reviews. They replaced my AC and heating system about 10 years ago and have done the yearly maintenance on it (as long as I remember to have them do it and can fit it into my schedule.) They've always been very nice and seem to be no pushier and no more expensive than any other plumber/electrician/etc. read more

I am surprised by the negative reviews. Upon home inspection for escrow, we found we needed duct repair in attic. From the moment I spoke with Shayley(front office) to having the work completed by Jim & his crew, our experience was great! Very professional & courteous people. Being that we are on a very short deadline, we didn't have time to get multiple quotes, but felt cost was very fair. Crew showed up on time and ready to work. Great job! read more

When your A/C breaks down on a Saturday night and it's a million degrees out still you need an immediate solution. EconoAir dispatched Jim Bean within an hour of our call and within an hour of his arrival Jim had a new compressor starter installed to replace the one that had blown up and all was fixed and working again. Jim was courteous and knowledgeable and the service we received was swift and excellent. Thank you EconoAir!! read more

We had our heater inspected by Noah today. He did an excellent job explaining what we needed to fix in our heater and provided us with different alternatives that we could do to fix our heating system. He did a very thorough job and even showed us a video of it. Highly recommend Econo Air! read more

We paid $69 for one of Econo Air's technicians to come out and tell us that it would cost $3500 to repair our heater, or $13,000 minimum to replace both the heater and AC (which still works fine, though it's old). One of the two technicians that came out said, "Whatever you do, don't call the gas company." Implying I guess that they'd shut it down for good and we wouldn't have heat. Told us that the heater was leaking carbon monoxide into the house. So, we did not run it for a month in the coldest spell of the winter. This week we had our appointment with the Gas Company. Their technician said our ignition wire was the problem, clipped the end of it off and stuck it back in. Heater now works perfectly. He said the heater is in excellent shape any anyone who told us otherwise was obviously trying to sell us something. I'm surprised Costco has Econo Air as one of its vendors. read more

Jesse from Econo Air came out ON 7/13/2012 because our A/C unit was making noise, I was told by another company that I needed a compressor, so what should have been my first phone call was my second. I called Econo Air for a second opinion. My A/C was fine!!! The air filter had not been cleaned or changed for two years and the outside part of the unit was filled half way up with leaves and debris. They cleaned it, charged me $69.00 THAT'S IT!! I since have heard from several other people that ECONO AIR IS THE BEST, AND I MUST AGREE!! read more

I first hired Econo Air 16 years ago to do a complete HVAC installation. Back then they were really "cheap" ...that was the initial attraction. Over the years I have always been satisfied with the people they send out. My old small system eventually needed to be replaced, but that was done on my own time, I was always given options of weighing the cost of either repair or purchase. Sometimes they give credit for recent repairs toward a new system. When I decided the buy a new system I was surprised how much more it costs, but I guess that's because the company has grown and they've raised the bar. Now, the Mizer they offer is the "coolest" thing, for our CA cool evenings. Much better than a whole house fan. Good people. Great Company. read more

Omgosh. Do NOT believe these poor reviews!!!! Econo air is an amazing company. They installed our heating and air conditioning 6 years ago. They are prompt, professional, and I would highly recommend this company. read more

Have had nothing but problems with a $15, 000 HVAC system Econo Air put in, a top of the line Lennox system, should work great for years if installed properly. Beware of this place. I now use Denny's Air conditioning and Heating for my service. they are redoing my whole attic installation, eliminating the needless zones taping up the leaking duct work, chasing the drain, which cannot be located. Mike Richards, shame on you for using "Christianity" to help sell your crappy workmanship. read more

WARNING!!!!! DO NOT CALL this company. I called them through Costco for an AC check up since my system at my rental house was leaking some water. The serviceman Luis came out and checked it out and called me, he said that my system was old and needed the coil unit replaced and was not blowing cold air. He told me that it will cost $3500 for parts and labor. He also mentioned that this was a great price for good Costco members and we are family! What a thief. This seemed very expensive to me and I am glad I did not go for it. I wanted to get a second opinion so I had an independent local A/C repairman come out and look at it (D&B Mechanical Inc). Sure enough the coil unit was fine the system needed to be leveled and the freon needed to be charged. All together it cost me about $400 and everything is back to normal with no problems :-) I wasted $79 with Econo Air but I am very glad I got a second opinion. I have already complained to Costco about this. DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Thanks read more

Whatever you do, just run away FAST from this company - unless you want to pay $15,070 for a new substandard HVAC system installation job with recurring issues. Too many ridiculous issues to rehash here but similar or worse to the other fare in the other reviews. Instead, do some homework, read other people's real reviews like my own, and then find one of their 4 or 5 star competitors to do your work. Had I done that, I could have found the same Lennox or better equipment and superior installation with caring and competent service techs, telephone reps and service managers that don't blow excuses, blame and smoke for as low as $4,250. Have never been taken and punked as badly by a company in my life. Don't pay nearly 200% more for your HVAC install and work. Just don't. read more

I highly recommend Econo Air! They are very professional and have an amazing team! They answered all of our questions and did a great job! We had an AC unit installed right before this summer, which couldn't have came in a better time. This years heat was unbearable, especially with our place being an older house with no insulation. I'm now a happy homeowner that never wants to leave her home. It cools up the whole house so quickly, couldn't have asked for a better company for this service! read more

Great Company Fast Efficient Professional. I use them for my maintance and have had no issues! Highly Recommnd!

Today my air went out and I called them and they were here for me in 2 hrs...Chris came to the rescue.. I cant say enough about him and his knowledge and expertise about air conditioning...He is so friendly and put me right at ease that it was going to be all right...He is truely a Professional... Its nice to know that a company like Econo Air is there when you need them even after 13 years... Thanks Chris.. read more

Customer for 10 years. Had Blake here today for furnace tune up. Everything went well as usual

5 stars on the installation--the crew was great, cleanup was excellent and prompt, and the system worked beautifully. 0 stars on the service--we have had to call for service (under warranty) twice in this first year of installation. BOTH times the technician did not show up within the assigned window. BOTH times, when we called, the office claimed that they called to confirm the appointment and my husband did not answer his phone. This is patently false. My husband works in a position that requires him to always answer his phone. We received no calls from Econo Air. I can only assume that this b.s. story is what they use when their technicians fall behind in their schedule and they want people to think that it's not the company's fault. If good, reliable, on-time service is important to you, stay far, far away from this company. read more

Derrick is great, I have had poor experiences in the past with this company. Yesterday Derrick came our diagnosed, explained, and corrected our system. Jose the phone man was great treated us well and coordinated around our schedule. read more

I was walking thought CostCo last week and I saw a special for A/C tune up for $79.00. I have live in my place for 11 years and never had my A/C unit severed. They called me on Saturday to make my appointment. Chris the technician came today on time and explained what he was going to do. He spent about two hours checking everything inside & outside. He was very thorough. In the end he gave me 2 options and explained each option. I will do option 1 in the Spring. read more

I've dealt with a lot of HVAC firms, and I believe Mike and team are the best. Mike, the CEO, has personally provided the quotes for both my furnace and a/c upgrade. I installed a new furnace over ten years ago, and Econo-air installed it and new ductwork. That worked flawlessly until last year, when I had them add air conditioning. Mike provided a flat rate for the unit and installation, which was more than competitive from other bids. Plus they located the compressor in an out of the way spot, which other firms resisted (probably due to their slightly increased costs for pipe and wiring runs). The installation teams are incredibly professional, do high quality work, and clean up after. I had a recent problem with the a/c, and they sent someone the next day on a warranty call and quickly resolved the problem. I recommend Mike and team very highly. read more

I should have looked at the Yelp reviews before calling them. They came late spent 15 minutes replacing an $80 capacitor (That's retail price) and charged $489. My wife was the only one home at the time (because they were 4 Hours late) and they took advantage of her. If you don't mind making a bad day worse then they are your guys. At this time we are looking into TITLE 1.5. CONSUMERS LEGAL REMEDIES ACT [1750 - 1784] to see what can be done to a company that over charges to a ridiculous degree. read more

Econo Air installed our Heater A/C Zone System in 2006 ... love our system. in 2019, About a week ago the heater would not work; so I called this company for a repair. Travis came to our home on a Saturday in that pouring rain ... his diagnosis: short in the system , etc, thus resulting in the zone board being taken out along with a couple transformers. his solution : replace zone board, etc & 4 stats, replace transformers for a cost of $3995. 00 !! I said I would need to go over this with my husband since this is an outrageous repair and would get back to them. The following Thursday I had made an appointment for Urso Air Systems in San Pedro to check out their non-working system!!! diagnosis : electrical troubleshoot & repair on a spit zone control. solution: replace one transformer and one fuse in the zone board for a cost of $260.00 !!! WOW I could not believe that Econo Air would scam us like that !!! Be aware and do NOT allow Econo Air to do repair work without a second estimate !!! read more

I don't believe all these reviews. Clearly it's the work of envious competitors. My Father has been hiring Econo for 20 plus years. They have always cone through in the end. I am on my second unit from them. It's not an easy process and let's face it, who really wants to pay for air? I am never surprised at how selfish people can be when they sit in front of their computers and write reviews! The crew at Econo air always show up on time, do what they say and break a sweat every single visit. Their prices are competitive, and perhaps on the high end side, but the quality is in the end product. I imagine most people who eek by check to check, hate to pay for AC when it breaks (and they all break). But rarely will they complain when it's working perfectly. One thing this company is good at is keeping track of your scheduled service calls. Yes it's a little annoying when I'm busy, but in the end, and as I write this, I am grateful for those annual reminder calls. I have enough to remember already, and it's nice to know there are small companies surviving in this tough economy through good old fashion follow up and customer service. Show them a competitive bid, let them earn your money, but hire them. You can thank me later! read more

DISCLAIMER: I am not an employee of Econo Air, nor am I in any way being compensated for this posting. Econo Air has performed several jobs for us on different properties, from big to small, including a main line sewer repair, complete HVAC replacement, install of a tankless water heater, to simple AC servicing. Their prices may not always beat every single person in town, but the quality of service and product does. You can pay someone to do a schlocky job and have them come out ten times to fix it, or pay the right price and have it last. To me having a job done right and not having to worry about it is the best deal in town. There are other reviews on this page I am quite frankly blown away by. There are certain commentators who certainly have zero basis for their claims, yet somehow are able to allege fake reviews, acts of the company with other clients, or acts the user claimed as "corporate theft". Unless they actually work for the company or were present at other people's experiences - how is such knowledge possible. Yelp is a place for honest reviews. Not the place for indignant trolls to air alleged grievances and try to ruin a person or company's livelihood. Certain reviews seem entirely spiteful and retributive and from someone who blames the world for their problems rather than accepting they might be the problem. I recommend Econo Air as I can personally certify that on not one of the major jobs I have had done by them in the past 5-10 years, aside from routine maintenance (changing air filters, servicing freon), have NEVER had them have to come back out to fix anything a second time - a job done right the first time. read more

Econo air came out last year and I left them a bad review because I was unhappy that we were charged for a service but our a/c wasn't fixed. They came out 2 more times and tried to fix it but because our unit was so old they couldn't. They gave me a refund and I am very impressed with their customer service and would like to apologize for leaving a bad review for so long. I don't come on Yelp too often and I didn't see the response so I didn't delete my review. Hope this helps. read more

This review is for the BREA location of Econo Air. (There's other non-affiliated companies out there, similar names). Econo Air of Brea installed our new LENNOX system and we couldn't be HAPPIER . Buying new appliances is always an overwhelming task for most homeowners- so many choices, so many installers....We did our research. We looked at multiple products offered by multiple installers. It came down to proven product performance and the expertise of the company that would do the install. It was a no-brainer. Econo Air & Lennox was our choice by a long shot. Our research paid off! We were serviced like Kings & Queens (with exceptional customer service)! Econo Air is a team of hardworking individuals (from stage 1 all the way to the end stage) with the experience and knowledge we needed in an HVAC company. Whether we were meeting with Mike (the owner) or speaking with (Matt) Operations, or Office staff (for product registration) or Ernesto (Field Lead) along with his synchronized, efficient field installers - they ALL displayed professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, flexibility, going beyond the call of duty, a willingness to answer any and every question we had, a desire to please us (the customer) and a desire to make sure we were familiar and comfortable with our new product purchase before officially finishing the install. In this day and age, consumers don't always get to speak with the owners of the companies they hire either, let alone meet with them to discuss all of the options available to them. With Econo Air we got to do just that!! Mike was more than generous with his time and made sure every promise he made was carried out and fulfilled - he's a true man of his word! Now that we are fully utilizing and loving our new system, we KNOW we not only made the best decision in hiring Econo Air, but we also KNOW we can trust Econo Air to have our backs and help us maintain our new system for years to come! Thank you Mike and to all your staff for the exceptional service you provided to us! Keep up the good work!! read more
