We woke to find out kitchen sink clogged and after calling around to a few places, Econo Rooter was able to make a same day appointment for 30% less than the others, which was awesome. Unfortunately, the subsequent experience was sub-par. The technician was supposed to arrive at 2:30pm, but called around that time to tell me he'd be late and he wasn't sure what time he could get to my house. When I texted close to 5:30pm to see if he could provide an ETA, he was actually less than five minutes away (but hadn't provided an update in between). He was able to snake our drain clear pretty quickly, but when he left telling me everything was all set, he did not remove the clamps we'd put on the dishwasher vent when we tried to plunge the sink (this is really basic plumbing, the likes of remembering to turn off a running engine), which resulted in our kitchen flooding when we ran the dishwasher overnight. When we waded through our kitchen the next morning, we found the clamps still in place, as well as only hand-tight pipes, which we had to tighten with our own tools. I wanted to be thrilled with this experience, but we would not hire Econo Rooter again. read more

Not recommend this contractor. They come and not even give the estimated, they just said depending on how hard problem is. Finally take them less than 20 mins working drain my sewer pipe and come up with $300 charged. It's really ridiculous. When they're done they even not clean up the area they worked. Sam showed up to my house to examine clogged line. Did very little examination and zero work. Told me he would have send someone else to do the work. Never heard back from company, no one showed. He knew our showers and bathrooms were unusable and left us stranded and waiting. Had to give up and called Advanced Plumbing and they fixed the issue within an hour. read more

I called this business because the listing said, "Drains unclogged Low Flat rates given on the phone". Well what I discovered is that I can't get flat rate over the phone because he has to see the job first. If you have to see the job before you give a price then you are NOT charging a flat rate! Then he said he can't charge a flat rate because it was the weekend. The competition does charge more on the weekends; that is understandable. You can charge a higher FLAT RATE on the weekend! I have a regular "Hair Tax" that I have to pay from time to time. Some of you ladies know what I'm talking about. I'm not allowed to have "normal" sink and tub drains.... they must be replaced with finer screens because I have the thick, shedding locks of a Saint Bernard. Or a Maine Coon. In any case, once every couple of years, I get a bigger clog. And I just have to call a Rooter. Of course, as was the case the other day, this will happen at the most inconvenient of times. Last night our kitchen sink clogged and I called Econo Rooter. He offered to come out right away, or in the AM. I elected the AM, but it was great to have the option. Sam showed up right on time this AM. After assessing the situation and thinking of different ways of unclogging the sink, he recommended we go through the vent on the roof vs from under the sink, which turned out to be a great idea. No mess in the house, didn't have to remove (or reinstall) any plumbing and we had the drain unclogged in 10 minutes. Sam was great. Would definitely recommend him! read more

I had a backup from the sewage outlet outside my house. I googled drain blockage companies. When I called Econo Rooter asked his charge and he told me $90. I repeated the charge back to him to ensure I heard him correctly then wrote it down pleased at finding a bargain. When he arrived a few hours later I pointed out the length of the sewage pipe to where it joins the main sewage line over 50 yds away so he was aware of the extent that I wanted checked to remove any and all blockages. He began sliding the roto-cable down the drain and after literally just a few turns of the cable drum he asked me to flush the toilet inside. I went inside and when I came back maybe 3-4 minutes later he had the cable rewound up ready to leave. Remember my sewer line is at least 50 yards long. When I asked if he had rotored the whole length he said he had. I had flushed 2 toilets presumably before he removed the roto cable and about 6 turns of his cable on the drum were wet - the rest of the cable was dry. Surely multiple turns of the cable on the drum should have been wet from the 2 flushed toilets He told me the cable went fast because it was downhill. Really and the rewind time? When I came to pay I gave him $90 cash as agreed on the phone, THEN he told me his fee was $100 and $90. I made a point of clarifying the cost over the telephone since his charge seemed low. Had he told me $190 when I called I would have continued comparing different companies. By all means hire him but I recommend you confirm the cost in writing by email. I also recommend you stay to watch the work is completed as requested before he packs up to go. If he sends you inside to flush a toilet after what seem like a couple of minutes then have a garden hose ready to use instead of leaving the work site. He did nothing to sanitize the area and left the detritus that had blocked the pipe lying on the surround. The only workman I have ever hired who did not leave his work site clean. read more

I will say this about Sam, the owner of Econo Rooter: he is very knowledgeable when it comes to clogged drains. And he really attends to his customers. We had a clogged sewer line. It was difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the clog (it was likely an invasive tree root). To make matters worse, the clog occurred on the day before Christmas. A 24/7 Emergency Rooter Service ignored my plea for service. But Sam came to the house to provide a temporary fix. I texted Sam on Christmas Day to advise that the clog had worsened. He RESPONDED to my text (on a major HOLIDAY), and said he would return early the following day. Sure enough, he arrived at 9AM. He went to work on the main sewer line from our house. An hour later, he cleared the blockage. Then he checked to ensure that all of the previously blocked drains and toilets were now functional. He recommended a yearly service call to prevent further clogs from neighboring tree roots. His fee was quite reasonable, particularly as the service call was just before, and immediately after, Christmas Day. How many service providers do you know who would respond to your immediate service request on/or around Christmas Day? I thought so. I called Econo Rooter this morning to unclog my kitchen sink. When I spoke to Sam he told me he could come over in an hour and a half and quoted me a fair and reasonable price. He arrived about a half hour late because he had trouble finding my house. I wasn't upset because people often had difficulty finding my house using google maps. Sam arrived and I helped him bring his snake equipment in to the house because it's quite heavy. He got to work and in about 15 minutes my drain was clear. Sam packed up his equipment and we loaded it in to his van and the whole experience took about 40 minutes. I really enjoyed the experience of having Sam complete the job quickly and most importantly for a reasonable and fair price. I can't recommend Sam highly enough. Take my advice and save yourself some cash by calling Sam when you need plumbing help. read more

My Laundry room and Kitchen drains got clogged. I called Sm on Sunday and set the appointment on Monday. He showed up on time. He quickly fixed the drains for the laundry room. The ran into the problem to fix the kitchen. It took him around 2 hours. He explained to me that he has to leave for another appointment. However, he will not charge me for half fixing. Sam was great! We called him to snake a pipe from our washing machine and he was very flexible on timing and made it out the next day. He noticed that the problem seemed to actually be with our main pipe, which didn't have a clean-out and so couldn't be snaked. He couldn't install this himself but explained exactly what needed to be done and offered to recommend someone. We got a plumber out who confirmed Sam's diagnosis and was able to fix it easily. Rec'd recommendation that Econo Rooter was fast, efficient, and used the latest plumbing rooter equipment. I called Econo Rooter on a Sunday afternoon for a complete sewer blockage, and within minutes Sam, the owner, arrived on the job. He assessed the situation and provided 2 solutions. I opted for the permanent solution that would update my sewer system. Early the next morning, a crew arrived and cut my sewer line and installed a new two-way cleanout. Shortly thereafter, Sam returned and snaked-out my system. Everything now works perfectly. This was a big job and completed in a very efficient and timely manner with good workmanship.
