What wasn't fair was how everything else was handled. I was quoted $23 for a box, which I later found out included Styrofoam packing and "labor." When I said I'd just pack it myself, the employee asked if I brought tape. When I said no, he told me they charge $2.99 just to use their tape. Meanwhile, the employee next to him was taping up boxes for other customers for free, which made the whole situation even more confusing and frustrating. I asked for the cheapest shipping option to New Jersey and was told it would be $40. I double-checked multiple times to see if there was anything cheaper and was told no. At that point, I was looking at nearly $70 total just to ship a small package, which didn't sit right with me. I decided to walk out and come back another time with my own box. The next day, I went to a different UPS Store and got a box and shipped the same package for just under $30. less than half of what I was quoted here. This place felt like it was full of upsells and unnecessary add-ons, especially from the older gentleman who was helping me. I'd strongly recommend double-checking every charge if you end up here. I'll be honest, I already knew this location had a reputation for long lines and poor customer service, but I was in a pinch. Lesson learned. There are much better UPS Stores out there. I will NEVER come back to this location.

We had a scare when Faustino called to say his truck broke down going over the Grapevine, but Waters sent a mechanic to the truck and he worked on it until he had it on the road again. We lost very little time. Our entire house was packed in three hours in Pleasanton and two days later it was unpacked in three hours in Rancho Mission Viejo. I used Five Star Moving Companies this past weekend to move me out of a 2b2b on the 2nd floor into…read morea 1b1b on the 3rd floor. I was initially suspicious of the $60 deposit over PayPal, but it ended up working out well. I was scheduled to have the movers arrive between 8 and 9 AM. Tim, Vitalik, and Sasha called to let me know they'd arrive in 20 mins and arrived at 9AM. From the beginning until the end, the guys were professional, cordial, fast, hard working, careful, and helpful. I had pretty much my entire apartment packed in boxes prior to them arriving. It took them around 3 hours to get all of the boxes and my furniture into the truck (I had a lot of furniture). They wrapped all of my furniture in plastic wrap and blankets. 40 min drive to my apartment and two hours to unload everything to the 3rd floor (no elevator). In total, I was charged for 5.75 hours. The $60 deposit was removed from my total and I paid the difference at the end of the move. As I said earlier, they were very friendly and careful with my furniture. I would highly recommend using their service and I plan to use them again next time I need to move.

Peter, George and Vitalik did an awesome job to make our move easy. They arrived right on time to start the move around 9 or 9:30 AM. We had co-ordinated with Daniel about the time and stuff, he answered all our questions and was pretty straight forward. He also gave us a call a day after the move to know if everything went well. We had almost all the stuff packed and ready before the arrived in the morning on moving day. Peter, George and Vitali were very quick, efficient and very careful with the delicate items. They helped us pack the glass items and few smaller items too. They wrapped the sofa and bigger items with plastic wrap and blankets as needed. Entire move took about 5 hrs and the crew did not waste much time. They disassembled the bigger items in new apartment and also had runners in the new apartment so that the apartment carpet would not get dirty. We had wonderful experience with Five Star Moving and would recommend it to everyone!

Disappointing Experience Handling a Rat Infestation…read more I have been renting a unit at Public Storage on Pacheco Blvd in Martinez since January 2026. Unfortunately, in early June, I discovered evidence of a rat infestation affecting my storage unit. I found what appears to be rodent contamination on items stored inside my unit, despite the fact that I do not store food, pet food, or anything else that would reasonably attract rodents. As soon as I discovered the issue, I notified the property manager, Alex. To his credit, he agreed that pest remediation was needed. However, more than two weeks have passed since I reported the problem, and as of this review, no pest control company has been brought in to address the rat issue. The delay has been frustrating, especially considering the potential risk to customers' belongings. I also requested to be moved to a clean, unaffected unit at no additional cost. Alex relayed my request to the district manager, Billy, who ultimately denied the request. I was disappointed that no reasonable accommodation was offered, particularly given the circumstances and the ongoing concerns about contamination. What bothers me most is not that rodents were found at the facility. Unfortunately, pests can be a problem anywhere. What matters is how management responds when a customer discovers a problem. In my case, I reported the issue immediately, asked for help, and proposed reasonable solutions. Instead, I have been left waiting while the problem remains unresolved. Customers rent storage units because they expect a clean and secure environment for their belongings. If you are considering renting at this location, I recommend asking detailed questions about pest control procedures, response times, and available options if your unit is affected by rodents. I hope Public Storage takes this feedback seriously and improves how these situations are handled going forward. At a minimum, customers deserve timely action, clear communication, and practical solutions when problems like this arise.

For both moves, there were 2 guys each with 1 truck, and they were fast/efficient and polite/professional! Got the move done both times in under 2 hours. Also really appreciate George, who I spoke with on the phone a few times and was helping me with the 2 separate moves and quotes. I was moving end of June/early July so it was a really busy time since it was around the holiday. George helped fit me in, and also gave me a really reasonable quote. I would recommend using Jay's Small Moves for another move!
