Horrible customer service and overpriced I paid for replacement filters and didn't have them delivered for very close to 60 days. I am still waiting for feedback on how to replace the alkaline filter I was sent because their YouTube page doesn't cover the set up I have. I sent an email requesting assistance July 8th. Best case scenario I'll get a 72 hour business hour response today. Much of the prior communication has been the same. You can get the same, similar, or superior system installed for less as I have seen friends and family do. Shame on Costco for partnering with this company. After soliciting several vendors, EcoWater responded quickly and was the first appointment of 4 others. Met with Ryan Lunde who really educated me on multiple points of various water systems. First, only a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system will reduce TDS. Second, various vendors MAY use COMPONENTS from various manufacturing companies that make up their system. (E.g., a mixture of Clack, Fleck, Pentair to name a few.) While others may have their own proprietary systems or use 100% of one of the above component companies. He clearly outlined TOTAL COSTS including warranty duration and any replacement cost for parts, if required. With Eco Systems, replacement of parts run approx. 10 years duration to 25 year duration for a family usage of 2 people. Now armed with this information, I met with the other two companies. (One was immediately eliminated because their system was made up of component parts - mixture of Clack, Fleck, and Pentair) I got confusing information, contradictory information and deliberate misinformation from the other two companies. (One company knew of my concern for the amount of "wasted" water used to regenerate the tanks. When I asked how many gallons his company's system used, he stated, " 40 gallons". What he neglected to tell me was that it was 40 gallon PER TANK. And his system was a TWO TANK system.) Ryan pointed out this "omission" to me and boy, am I glad. It would have made me sick to think that I was potentially wasting up to 80 GALLONS / 17 days!!!! Although the regeneration is based upon the number of gallons used, we calculated that if I used Eco Water's system, my regeneration rate and volume of H2O was 35 gallons every 17 days at the earliest to 3 weeks. Here is where the real service comes in from Eco Water. I listed all of the differences, concerns and contradictory information provided and asked Eco Water to make a SECOND VISIT to help clarify these issues. Ryan immediately responded with a second appointment and upon arrival, he proceeded to explain what the differences were and how it might impact my decision. At no time did I ever feel pressured or "persuaded" to decide one way or another. He simply answered my questions and concerns and left it up to me to decide. Based upon what my desires and needs were for buying a whole house system, I felt convinced that Eco System was the right choice for me. I recently purchsed Eco Water system along with reverse Osmosis through Costco. System itself is fine, but after installation I noticed my sprinklers stopped working, took over a week for them to send someone to check. The tech identified that water at street shut off was not fully turned on, with no idea as to why street shut off was used. He also said my pressure regulator and ball valve need to be replaced, all that worked fine prior to installation and nothing was mentioned during installation. No apologies from EcoWater, tech offerred to replace those for $750 that is on top of $8k+ paid for the system. Customer Service is awfuly, definitely regret purchasing this from Eco Water. read more

Here are the negatives: 1. Initial installation was a disaster. Installer was in such a hurry to depart, he installed it wrong. First 3 weeks of owning it we had turquoise stain in the shower, turquoise pellets in the water, & the refrigerator filtered water tasted like metal. 2. The installer did not clean up his mess. Had metal shavings in the garage & driveway. 3. Once the sale is complete the salesman disappeared. 4. The people who answer the phone are somewhat clueless. 5. It took MANY, MANY visits to get the system working properly. NOW, one positive: They have a technician named "Charlie" who is extremely professional, knowledgeable & courteous. Now that the entire system is finally functioning properly the water tastes GREAT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT letting ECOWATER install your water filtration system. We are going to complain to COSTCO next since that is where we purchased the system. read more

My system was upgraded a few weeks ago. The technician hooked up my water supply backwards? Luckily i had called EcoWater to reinstall my older system (2 years old) to give me benefits of soft water. This should have not been taken out in the first place. My on demand water heater was clogged up with carbon/charcoal and the technician had to come back to flush it out. I am not writing this to complain, but to explain that mistakes can be made! But a good technician will find out and go the extra mile to fix other peoples mistakes! Sales rep! And 1st technician! I don't think I'm a very frequent or verbose Yelp Reviewer but the good folks (especially JD) at EcoWater deserve credit for standing by their work. Long story short, we experienced a slow water leak on a joint near the work that EcoWater did when they installed the system. The leak was on a joint that the EcoWater folks did not/not do but since it was so close to their work they fixed it at no cost to us just to be sure. That said, you just gotta respect EcopWater's work ethic. PS: Six months in and we're still very happy we made the investment. I was looking for two things; drinking water that didn't taste like salt and soft water to preserve my appliances. Any reading on the subject is mostly marketing mix with enough chemistry to make you dizzy and sales people focus on the cost saving of using less soap, preserving your clothes and the poisons used by the water utilities industry. I don't respond to fear based sales and anyone measuring their shampoo usage is insane. I took the method of getting an overwhelming amount of information to make my decision. I consulted the local water board, five different water purification companies and got three water tests done. At the end of the day we decided on Ecowater because they are backed by Costco. What that means to us is we have the guarantee of their installation, manufacturing and upkeep of the system. Bruce was knowledgable, respectful of our house and needs. It has been a pleasure working with EcoWater, through all phases - demonstration, scheduling and installation. The employees at EcoWater are very customer service oriented and very helpful. I had to move appointments around to accommodate a home refi transaction and they were never pushy to get the sale done. They were patient through that process. Our installer, Michael, is top notch. My house did not have a clean out for the softener and he guided me and my plumber through what needed to be installed and how, in order for the home water softener system to be setup. The drinking system was installed perfectly. The drinking faucet looks like it was part of the sink all along - very clean installation. I recommend you request Michael to do your installation. His work is very clean, neat and he takes pride in the finished product. He is also very patient explaining how the units work and the intervals in checking that systems are running.
