The pizza you grew up eating. Eddie is as classic as his pizza. Had it for the first time last night and he stayed open an extra 15 minutes just to make sure my pizza was done to his liking. When I told him it was my first time he made me a slice while I waited. Old school stuff, the kind of stuff that's missing these days. Thin crust, no flop, nice crunch, plenty of cheese and delicious 'just sweet enough' sauce. When I'm back home (retired to FL), I'll never spend a dollar in another pizza parlor. read more

Old school NY pizza spot. The first time I tried to grab a slice was too late and they were closing. When I opened the door the smell knock some nostalgia gears into rotation and I was taken back to the daily after school pizza slice trip of my childhood in NYC. I had to come back and try it. When I returned I met the owner who was making the pizza and he was very welcoming and classic pizza guy. Very friendly and made me feel like a regular. Plenty of regulars arrived and they would talk like old friends. So this place is definitely a neighborhood staple. I ordered a regular slice and a pepperoni slice to get a baseline. The regular was delicious and definitely old school, great crust, no flop, and the cheese was not too oily. The pepperoni slice had a bit of flop but was delicious. The slices were a bit smaller than I expected but the price was fair. I paid $8.00 for a regular slice, pepperoni slice, and a can of Pepsi. Cash only spot! I was satisfied enough to ask for a third slice, this time opting for a mushroom slice and it was also wonderful. This place is a classic pizza spot, no new specialty style slices. So no grandma or Buffalo chicken. Which is fine because enough places already do that. The decor is dated to the 80's or even earlier. Which is also fine because this is not a date spot, it is a classic pizza spot, grab a slice and go or sit down for a few minutes and recharge. Come here if you want to walk into the past and taste old school NY pizza with a nice sauce and real cheese. Definitely visiting Eddie again and going to start ordering pies from there. read more

I found this pizza shop in Yelp and the reviews were good enough to entice me to give it a shot. Upon entry I was greeted. It was lunch time on weekday, but I was the only customer. The owner was very friendly and told me he had old fashioned pizza. I ordered a plain pizza and pepperoni slice and a Coke. The pizza was good, however it wasn't memorable or flavorful in a way to make me go out of my return. There's a lot of good pizza in the area to settle. The pizza tasted good, but it just didn't have a wow factor. I also wished it was oven hot! The lunch special is a good value, two slices and a fountain drink for $5.50. Inside also didn't feel very clean. My tables looked like it needed to be wiped down. It wasn't atrociously dirty, it just don't looked like it was recently wiped for cleanliness. read more

I grew up in Valley Stream but moved to the city around the time Eddie's opened. I never heard of the place before. I was visiting my dad in VS, and found Eddie's nearby on Yelp. Eddie is such a nice guy and the pizza is EXCELLENT. It's the classic NY pie. Thin, crisp crust, delicious sauce and the perfect amount of mozzarella. Five stars!! read more
