The Lobster (I can't remember exact name of the dish) was delicious. The mix with the mushrooms was flavorful and rich. The service was top notch! I also had a Caesar salad which was a good starting point.

I had a great meal and experience here. I was solo and so I just sat at the bar and had dinner. The wedge salad was excellent. I asked them to prepare the sea bass with the ahi tuna rice, veggie, and sauce pairing instead of the standard preparation. Took a minute but they figured it out and it was excellent. I also tried the Eddie's potatoes and they were also excellent. Great wine by the glass choices and prompt service. I will be back again.

Boyfriend took me to Eddie's to celebrate my birthday, our anniversary, and Valentine's Day. Our waiter, Nick was welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating to our table. We started our evening with drinks. BF had Burnt Orange Manhattan and I had Angels Envy, both on the rocks. We each had a Shrimp Cocktail. Each of the shrimps were huge! I had a Caesar Salad, which was very fresh. I had a regular Filet Mignon and BF had Wagyu Filet Mignon. It was sooooo tender and melted in your mouth. We shared Garlic Butter Mashed Potatoes and Wild Mushrooms. Since we were celebrating, we shared a Vanilla Cognac Brownie. They pour flaming cognac over the whole thing and drizzle with Hot Fudge. Was so rich and good! We will be back! *Only con to the trip was they need to repave their parking lot. Lots of potholes.

Service was really good..... I expected the food to be really good. After hearing so many people say the food was amazing... it was just blah..... the restaurant was nice. Very nice. The bathrooms were really nice inside. But overall the food just wasn't that great. The best part of the meal was the pot stickers... The burger was super dry and just didn't taste that good, my other guest said their food was just okay....

We had a great experience here, from the best dinner bread I have ever had to the steaks to the dessert everything was fantastic!!

Pretty underwhelming anniversary dinner held here. Maybe my expectations were too high as this had been on my list to try for a while. The pros: Server was pleasant enough (Sorry, don't recall his name.) Ambiance was decent, although maybe a bit outdated. My husband's ribeye was well-cooked and flavorful. This was probably the only part of the meal that really hit the mark, so they can at least do steaks right! The cons: Cocktail was terrible. I had the prickly pear margarita. It tasted medicinal, not a good balance of flavor at all. For my meal I tried the ahi tuna. The rice that it came with was incredibly hard and inedible. They did include a complimentary crème brûlée dessert for our anniversary which was nice, and the peanut butter cup was pretty good as well, although I would have enjoyed a thicker crust/a little more texture. All in all, not the worst, but I'd be hard pressed to find the desire to return, especially given the price point.

Eddie Merlot is one of many excellent high end places for steak and seafood in the greater Columbus area. I love the ambience if this restaurant. It is a great place for a party or a romantic night out. The service is also generally very good from the hostess to the servers. Our last visit was excellent. The appetizers (bbq shrimp and crab cakes) were both delicious. The only nit was that the crab cakes were quite small. My wife and I shared the bourbon ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, and surprisingly plenty of food. The onion straws were good as well. Overall an excellent experience.

We went here to check out their happy hour deal. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking. It was busy so I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time! I was kind of bummed we didn't get to sit in the main room as that was where the aesthetics of the restaurant was. We were seated right away and service was top notch. The happy hour deal is $8 apps and $8 cocktails. I got the spicy pineapple margarita and was actually not a fan. There were what seemed like chopped up chunks of jalapenos in the drink and it would get stuck in the straw. Was not a pleasant experience. We enjoyed the G&T though! My friend and I split the filet mignon potstickers, filet mignon sliders with a side of truffle fries, and prime french dip sliders with a side of their house made potato chips. We ended the meal with the New York cheesecake. Everything was so good, especially the potstickers. I would definitely also recommend getting a side of truffle fries for an additional $2! I also loved that they have an extensive wine menu. If I lived closer to Eddie Merlot's I would come back for their happy hour deals!

I haven't been to Eddie merlots in several years and I remember why after my Father's Day lunch. The servers were awesome. The cocktail I ordered was excellent but the food was just average. Yet it's priced like a competitor to Hyde park and others. The grilled romaine salad was something I knew Id crave after I left. The three medallion meal was lacking. I found the bearnaise and Oscar sauces to be lacking. I know that's what they are known for but it wasn't good. My kids both had medallions while one had fries and one had mashed potatoes. They loved the steak and mashed potatoes. The fries are not good. They blanch the fries, dry them, fry them, let them rest and double fry them. It's a lot of work going into making a fry intentionally inedible. I know it's Father's Day but I also wasn't appreciative that they placed all the families in a section away from the main dining room Overall It's not worth the price.

My wife specifically requested coming here for one thing--their Big Daddy Chocolate Cake (her absolute favorite). We made a reservation and were seated right on time, which was a great start. Shortly after, we were greeted by our server, Nighajah, and she immediately set the tone for the night. She was incredibly friendly, super outgoing, and just had this upbeat energy that made you feel welcome right away. We explained that we had already eaten dinner elsewhere and were just there for dessert to celebrate. Nighajah let us know they offer a complimentary crème brûlée cheesecake for birthdays, which was a nice surprise, but we told her we had our hearts set on the chocolate cake (which comes with vanilla ice cream). When dessert arrived, she went above and beyond--bringing not only the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake but the cheesecake as well. Such an awesome and unexpected gesture! Then came the biggest surprise of the night... when the bill came, they told us everything was on the house. We were honestly shocked. Since we hadn't ordered anything else, it didn't feel right accepting both desserts for free, so I insisted on paying for the chocolate cake--but the gesture itself meant a lot. Nighajah truly made the entire experience special with her positive attitude and great service. Firebirds is lucky to have her--she's the kind of person who makes you want to come back. We'll definitely be back again soon!

People in our group ordered the Ribs, Salmon and a burger...those were all fine. The manager, lied right to my face when she brought me new well done (as I originally asked for) bacon. She said..it looks like less bacon because it's cooked more well done!! What a stupid thing to say!! Do you think I'm an idiot and can't count??!!! She took away about 8 pieces of limp bacon and brought me 2.5 crispy pieces!!! Then..by the time all that happened..my obviously microwaved biscuit had turned to stone..couldn't eat it at all. My server said that her manager told her to charge me full price! I refused to pay $18 for something I couldn't eat. Eventually, after some arguing..we got it taken off the bill. No apologies, no other concessions...nothing! My daughter had the exact same issue with her BLT. She was charged and paid for nothing. After that experience..they lost 2 customers and more to follow I'm sure. Do they care? Not bloody likely. They will be going under soon unless they make changes quickly.

The ambiance was definitely vibey and perfect for socializing, with a lively atmosphere that fit our group of 13 well. Unfortunately, everything after the hostess stand went downhill on the service side. Our server felt disengaged from the start and rarely checked on us. It was hard to tell if we'd said something wrong or if he was just having an off night, but even after asking other staff members to send him over, he never came back to check on our table. With automatic gratuity already added for a large party, it was disappointing to experience such minimal attention and care. What I had: * Mediterranean Salmon (shared): The portion split felt more like 75/25 than an even share, which was a little odd for something asked to be split. The salmon itself was decent, but the hummus quickly overpowered the dish if you mixed everything together. * Teriyaki Ribeye: I requested medium rare and received a steak well past well-done, dry enough that it was basically inedible. It almost tasted like it had been reheated rather than freshly cooked. Since our server never checked in, I had to flag someone else down to get it replaced, and the remake took about 15 minutes to arrive--even though the cut was thin and already marinated. * Old Fashioned: The cocktail came out quite watered down, with very little depth of flavor. I would've asked for it to be remade, but again, our server was nowhere to be found. The bar program also felt surprisingly limited for a place that leans into a social, cocktail-forward vibe, which added to the letdown. Between the uneven service, lack of follow-through, and several misses on the food and drinks, it's hard to say I'd rush back--especially when there are so many other strong options in Columbus.

I came here on a cold March evening with my colleagues for a team dinner after a two-day conference. My co-worker was kind enough to tell the restaurant we were celebrating my birthday, so they had decorated our table with some cute birthday confetti and had a card for me. Such a nice touch! I wish I had thought to take pics, but I was so exhausted. Now, on to the food! We got calamari for the table as a starter. It was sprinkled with feta, which I enjoyed. It was cooked nicely and had great flavor. Oddly, we got served butter and sour cream instead of the black pepper aioli and voodoo sauce that was supposed to come with it. Thankfully, they realized it and brought us the right sauces. For my main, I got the Blackened Seared Scallops, a really unique dish that came topped with pork belly and served on creamed corn with tomato jam and bourbon syrup. This leaned to the sweet side but the smoky flavor of the pork belly gave great balance to the delicate scallops and the sweetness. And that bourbon syrup was addictive. I cleaned my plate! I would definitely recommend this dish if you like a sweet/savory combo. None of us ordered drinks or dessert on this go-around, but the manager stopped by to chat with us. Again, really nice touch. One slightly worrying thing: one of my colleagues is allergic to mushrooms. He ordered something that didn't mention mushrooms on the menu, but it was on the plate. Thankfully he noticed it before he started eating and they remade it for him without mushrooms. So if you have food allergies, be sure to ask questions because it may include an ingredient the menu doesn't mention. That said, our servers were wonderful and it was an overall pleasant experience.
