We are in town for a convention. We decided to splurge on the first night and have a nice dinner. Ruth's Chris did not disappoint. I ordered the fillet and it was absolutely perfect. It was very buttery and tender. We shared mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and asparagus. I started with the French onion soup, which was also marvelous. The service was top right all of the food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. I really don't have anything negative to say. Yes, it's a bit on the expensive side, but we knew that going in and it was perfectly delicious. The cocktails were also made very well and I enjoyed my old-fashioned.

Had a great dinner at Ruth's Chris last night. It definitely hit the spot. I went with the 11oz filet and blackened scallops, and both were cooked to perfection. The steak was buttery and so tender, and the scallops had just the right amount of seasoning and sear. My wife and mom ordered the sea bass and a salmon, and both looked fantastic Sides were great and shareable sizes too. The au gratin potatoes were rich and cheesy, and the Caesar salad was crisp with a a nice amount of a garlic favor. The real star were the sweet potato casserole. You absolutely have to get a side of ice cream (as recommended by our server Anthony), it somehow managed to be both a side and a dessert, and we were not complaining! Service was on point, the atmosphere was upscale but still relaxed, and overall, it made for a great night out. Everything was amazing and Anthony made the experience that much more worth it!

If you are going here you already know what to expect for prices and service so you just hope they hit the mark. Well hope no more because they nailed the expectations ... other than the beverage selection. Weirdly enough they did not have Miller Lite or sweet tea. Regardless the food and service was literally perfect across the board. I actually arrived early not knowing the time they opened and the host opened early for me so I didn't have to stand outside in the awful weather. Highly recommended.

Visiting Columbus on a Monday and I wasn't certain if they would be open. I was so pleasantly surprised to be seated almost immediately. Our waitress Michelle was so positive and super helpful we ordered her recommended special and a sea bass. We met Chris the manager on duty that night and had a wonderful visit. When our food arrived Jack and Michelle helped us with everything we could ask for. Just a top notch experience, I need to bring my daughters along next time! Unfortunately we were so taken with the meal that we only thought of pictures near the end. The food was phenomenal! We appreciated the quiet but nicely lit room and since it was early evening on a Monday we had a nice intimate dinner. Well worth the effort to visit!

This was a birthday celebration dinner. Reservations recommended although when we went during a weekday, it was not busy. When we arrived they asked if we were celebrating and put birthday party confetti on our table. I loved the little detail! Our server was friendly and attentative. He stopped by the table just enough and talked to us a for a moment a couple of times. I ordered one of the classics that included a salad, steak, mashed potatoes, and a mini dessert. It was a good amount of food for the deal. My steak was cooked perfectly and one of the best steaks I have had. This was an enjoyable experience from the celebration atmosphere, service, and meal. They have a Yelp perk check-in offer, but beware they said it is an old offer and will not honor the discount.

My son took me to this lovely restaurant for my birthday. HarriJean was our server and she was absolutely delightful and attentive to our needs. I was treated like I was the only guest in the establishment. The food was amazing! Everything was the perfect temperature and delicious. The side dishes are served family style and the portions of the sides were enough for 3 people. We got the mashed potatoes and asparagus for our sides. The steak was so good! I had plenty enough to take home some leftovers. The dessert was so chocolatey and rich: my kind of treat! The atmosphere was perfect for conversation and the table was set beautifully with birthday confetti! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for your next special occasion!

By nature of my job I eat at a lot of high end restaurants. But damn, I haven't had service this good in years. And the stuffed chicken was delish as well.

Great service.  Shout out to Chris who had great energy and took good care of us. Came for a friend's birthday. It's my third time at Ruth Chris. I tried to a couple new things. Overall nice time. Bread came out super late (same time as entrees), but otherwise service was efficient.  - drink:  blackberry sidecar was delicious. - spicy shrimp:  delicious.  Sauce was good and the accompaniments (veggies)  were also super good.  - Caesar-  good, but Very over dressed this visit. - Chef selection of fish and shrimp (salmon) : okay. A bit under cooked and under seasoned but the sauce is delicious! Also found some thin bones. -sweet potato casserole;  one of my favorites, never misses. Previous visits;  I've had the filet & shrimp,  tomahawk steak,  sautéed spinach and Lobster mac.  I'd recommend everything except Lobster mac (little Lobster flavor/meat, soupy).  Other recommendations from dinner guests: - Ravioli - Blueberry mojito - crab cakes - Brussel sprouts

The space is very bright and airy: loved the floral and plant vibes. Our server was kind but maybe a bit apprehensive because we brought our two daughters. Sometimes I feel bad bringing kids but honestly we deserve to have good food even if there are little mouths involved. We had the focaccia starter and it was as pillowy and sumptuous as it looked. Next was broccolini which our 8 month old devoured. I tried the funghi pasta and my husband had the sausage ragu. Both had generous portions. The kitchen made butter noodles for our daughter and she LOVED them. I was pleased they didn't try to doll them up because she really did just want noodles and butter. Finally, the octopus was sooo tasty. The sauce was super flavorful and I love a good bean addition. Delicious meal all around.

The ambiance was enjoyable, and our waitress provided decent service. For starters, I really enjoyed the gem salad -- it was refreshing -- and I also ordered a couple of glasses of Poggio Costa Prosecco to go with my Funghi pasta. Both were very good. However, we also ordered the lobster spaghetti and were not impressed. It was very bland, and the few pieces of lobster tasted slightly gamey. I would not recommend the lobster pasta, especially considering the price, as it appeared to be the most expensive pasta on the menu. The bill also included a fee labeled as "healthcare," which was not mentioned by our waitress. I had to look it up afterward since it was the first time I had seen a charge like that on a restaurant bill. I wanted to share this so others are aware of what to expect.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear why this institution has remained at the top of the city's dining scene for half a century. My partner began with the Escargot and Shiitake Marble Veal Mousse with parsley garlic butter sauce, while I enjoyed the exceptional Mussel Soup with leek chiffonade, saffron cream, and Chablis. Both starters were beautifully prepared and set the tone for the evening. For our second course, my partner selected the Roasted Lake Erie Walleye with dill Chablis sauce, and I chose the Sautéed Florida Red Snapper with Choron vin blanc sauce. Both dishes showcased impeccable technique, fresh ingredients, and elegant presentation. Our third course continued to impress. The Black Truffle Duxelle Stuffed Rabbit Loin with Dijonnaise sauce was rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed, while my Pan-Seared Prime New York Strip Steak with cardamom sauce was cooked flawlessly and absolutely outstanding. We shared the Black Forest Tart with mascarpone chantilly and cherry gel for dessert. The flavors were wonderful, though the tart crust was a bit firmer than expected, making it somewhat difficult to enjoy with only a spoon. Service was polished and professional throughout the evening. Although the restaurant had run out of the bottle of wine we initially selected, the sommelier recommended a comparable bottle from the same AVA that was slightly more expensive and graciously adjusted the price to match our original selection. This was a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflects The Refectory's commitment to hospitality. Our only minor disappointment was the seating location. The booth where we were placed was tucked away from the main dining room and felt a bit tight, making it somewhat less comfortable than we would have preferred. While the secluded setting had its charm, a table or a more spacious booth in the main dining area would have enhanced the overall experience. Overall, it was another memorable dining experience. Exceptional cuisine, refined service, and an atmosphere that continues to set the standard for fine dining in Columbus. It's easy to understand why The Refectory has earned its stellar reputation and why it has thrived for 50 years. Highly recommended and well deserving of its legendary status.
