Great time here! Came in for a business meeting, so we were seated in a private room in the corner, which was really nice. We had several servers taken care of us, and everyone was very attentive to the room. We had a preset menu for the event, and some of the sides were served family style, but all of the food was delicious. I had the 11 ounce fillet for dinner, and it was cooked really well and to order (heavily recommend this option, it was the perfect amount of food and so delicious). Also had the garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach for sides. For dessert, we had the chocolate sin cake which was also extremely delicious. I really liked that it wasn't overly sweet since dinner was already pretty rich. It was the perfect size too, as I was already pretty full. I've wanted to try Ruth's Chris Steak House for years, so while we were in town for a volleyball tournament, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner at the bar. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the expectations that come with a high-end steakhouse. After sitting down, it took about ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us or asked for a drink (it was not busy AT ALL). Within the first 20 minutes, three different bartenders asked if we wanted bread and butter--but somehow it never came. I eventually had to remind them. When ordering, I asked for my steak medium rare. The bartender told me that meant a cold red center, which didn't sound right, so I questioned it. She confirmed it, so I ended up ordering medium instead. Shortly after, when my wife was ordering, she noticed the menu clearly described medium rare as having a warm, red center, and the bartender apologized for the confusion. That kind of basic mistake was surprising. We also asked about adding onions to the steak and were told they weren't available and may even be removing them from the menu. For a steakhouse of this caliber, not offering grilled onions felt odd. The suggested alternative--crispy fried onions--didn't feel like an appropriate substitute at this price point. Service continued to be inconsistent. I ordered a second drink that never came until I reminded them about 10 minutes later. At this point there were more employees behind the bar than patrons. While our steak and sides were very good, the overall experience was disappointing--especially considering the cost. It simply didn't match the level of service you expect from a restaurant like this. To make matters worse, we noticed similar issues happening around us. One couple was told there were no onions available after their steaks had already been served. Another guest ordered a blue cheese topping that never came--instead of correcting it, the staff just removed it from the bill. In the end, the bartender did apologize (we didn't complain) and comped us two drinks and the food was solid, but the service and overall experience fell short. If you plan on coming here definitely splurge for the Valet parking, so much easier than the garage on Vine Street. We had reservations for 430 and walked in at 430. They had everything ready for us and took us to a great seat. Ordered a Manhattan and a Dirty Goose Martini, both were very well made and delicious. We ordered the summer salad of tomatoes, feta and mangoes, my husband had the ribeye and a loaded potato and I had the petite filets with shrimp and brussel sprouts. They were all delicious. We ordered dessert of carrot cake and bread pudding to go. We have eaten at the Cincinnati location a few times and this one was just as good. The view wasn't as nice as Cincinnati, BUT it's hard to beat that view. Overall a great time and a delicious meal served by very sweet servers. read more

The service was top right all of the food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. I really don't have anything negative to say. Had a great dinner at Ruth's Chris last night. It definitely hit the spot. I went with the 11oz filet and blackened scallops, and both were cooked to perfection. The steak was buttery and so tender, and the scallops had just the right amount of seasoning and sear. My wife and mom ordered the sea bass and a salmon, and both looked fantastic Sides were great and shareable sizes too. The au gratin potatoes were rich and cheesy, and the Caesar salad was crisp with a a nice amount of a garlic favor. The real star were the sweet potato casserole. You absolutely have to get a side of ice cream (as recommended by our server Anthony), it somehow managed to be both a side and a dessert, and we were not complaining! Service was on point, the atmosphere was upscale but still relaxed, and overall, it made for a great night out. Wow, what a great meal. Started with Caeser salads. Wonderful! Only issue was no anchovies and bagged/boxed croutons. Greens were fresh and crisp, dressing was great. Not too much, not too salty. The dressing had a very small amount of oil, so it wasn't too rich or "gloopy." I ordered my steak medium rare, and it came out medium. Huge bummer for me, but it was still delicious. The steak (ribeye) was a 16-ounce steak, so my dining partner and I split it. I guess I just don't eat that much anymore. Anyway, the salt and pepper seasoning, the crust on the steak, the hot plate it was served on and the melted butter provided for an exceptional steak. Oh, it was a piece of prime beef too. Our companions split the T-bone and were as happy as we. Just outstanding steaks. Our sides were the mushrooms, and Au-gratin potatoes. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious, and the potatoes were the same. Plenty of food for the 4 of us. So, this place isn't cheap. The bill came to $240 and that's with 1 alcoholic beverage (a lemon drop) and the tip isn't included at this point. Mind you that's a cocktail, 3 soft drinks, 2 salads, 2 steaks and 2 sides. Our server, Gauthier was a pro (great job, Gauthier) and someone named Chris (the front of house manager I would guess) also introduced himself and wanted to know how our meal was. Of course, I had to ask if he was Ruth's Chris (he's probably asked that 20 times a night, but he acted amused with my poor attempt at humor and set the record straight). I would say that in spite of the large outlay of monies, it was worth it. I could see this being a frequent place to visit if money wasn't an issue. Throwing caution to the wind and having no better sense of judgement, we justified this because we spent the weekend in Columbus, and all wanted a great steak. We definitely found it! I'm giving 4 stars because the steak came out medium instead of medium rare. There is a definite possibility that they did cook the steak to mid-rare, but the 500-degree platter they serve the steak on probably pushed the final steak to a medium doneness. Next time I'll ask if it's recommended to order the steak one level below the doneness desired because of this. Oh, Toledo folks, the closest Ruth's Chris to our humble town is Ann Arbor! Visiting Columbus on a Monday and I wasn't certain if they would be open. I was so pleasantly surprised to be seated almost immediately. Our waitress Michelle was so positive and super helpful we ordered her recommended special and a sea bass. We met Chris the manager on duty that night and had a wonderful visit. When our food arrived Jack and Michelle helped us with everything we could ask for. Just a top notch experience, I need to bring my daughters along next time! Unfortunately we were so taken with the meal that we only thought of pictures near the end. The food was phenomenal! My wife and I stopped in for a quick drink before dinner at another restaurant. The drinks were phenomenal and our bartender, Myles , was the best part of the experience. He took great care of us, treated us like an old friend, and was the ONLY bartender out of the 4 working that night to even acknowledge us. When we arrived they asked if we were celebrating and put birthday party confetti on our table. I loved the little detail! Our server was friendly and attentative. My son took me to this lovely restaurant for my birthday. HarriJean was our server and she was absolutely delightful and attentive to our needs. I was treated like I was the only guest in the establishment. The food was amazing! Everything was the perfect temperature and delicious. The side dishes are served family style and the portions of the sides were enough for 3 people. We got the mashed potatoes and asparagus for our sides. The steak was so good! Bread came out super late (same time as entrees), but otherwise service was efficient.  - drink:  blackberry sidecar was delicious. - spicy shrimp:  delicious.  Sauce was good and the accompaniments (veggies)  were also super good.  - Caesar-  good, but Very over dressed this visit. - Chef selection of fish and shrimp (salmon) : okay. A bit under cooked and under seasoned but the sauce is delicious! Also found some thin bones. -sweet potato casserole;  one of my favorites, never misses. We had dinner last night. My birthday. It was our third dinner in a couple of months. We couldn't have been treated better! Our server, Jean, was outstanding. But our former servers, Jeremy and Michelle were equally wonderful. They all made us feel as if we were welcome in their homes. The food could not have been better. The ambiance was wonderful. Quiet enough for me to talk with my wife and yet we could talk without concern that others might hear us. I have been fortunate enough to have dined all over the world . . . Paris, London, Frankfort, Singapore, Bangkok and all places in between. We were treated as well as anywhere and the food was unsurpassed. We will definitely return soon. Our visit to Ruth's Chris was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Despite having only one party ahead of us, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was relatively open, yet we were placed right next to a large, loud group in an otherwise empty section. This made it difficult for either us or the group to enjoy our meals, as the close seating arrangement felt unnecessary given the available space. Service was slow and unorganized from the start. One of the place settings at our table included a knife with food still on it, as if it had been used and not properly cleaned. It took nearly 50 minutes to receive our drinks--one of which was incorrect. Our server initially forgot our son's drink order, and throughout the meal, we had to ask multiple times for drink refills and more bread, as they were gone long before our food arrived. During our 50-minute wait for drinks, my wife expressed interest in leaving to dine at Jeff Ruby's down the street, sensing that a poor experience was already unfolding. She voiced concern that, given the delays and early missteps, the rest of the evening would likely follow suit. Jeff Ruby's represents the level of food quality and service we are accustomed to in this category, and in hindsight, we regret not making that decision. When the food finally came, the issues continued. My son's steak, ordered medium, arrived well-done, while our bone-in filet was raw. As we cut into it, the waiter noticed and immediately took it away, expressing his disappointment and assuring us he would bring a new one. However, instead of a new steak, he returned with the original one now overcooked. One of our sides was forgotten entirely and only arrived much later--at which point our son refused to eat it. The asparagus was wilted beyond being edible, and the crab cakes were dry, flaky, and similarly inedible. All of the sides resembled frozen bag meals that had simply been steamed or reheated before plating. Given the overall poor quality, we left most of the food untouched. Service remained inconsistent throughout the meal. My husband ordered me a drink while our son finished his dessert, but instead, the waiter brought him another drink and forgot mine altogether. When we inquired about valet service, our server had no idea how it worked and took nearly 30 minutes just to confirm that we could pay with our card. Even the restrooms were in poor condition--no toilet paper, some on the floor, a leaking toilet, and a broken doorstop. For a restaurant with the reputation and price point of Ruth's Chris, this experience was unacceptable. From slow service and poor food quality to incorrect orders and a lack of attention to detail, it was a complete disappointment. We will not be returning. read more

So my wife and I went to the location on High Street on Saturday and the food was awful: the salad tasted old, the steak and mashed potatoes were so garlicky we couldn't them, and the dessert was Aramark quality. Additionally , we had horrible service from the bar. The bartender and server seemed to intentionally place our orders outside of happy hour pricing. And while we were attempting to escape together from drama and stressors from day to day life, we were unwillingly subjected to it as a server confronted fellow employees at the bar because he "couldn't please anyone" before storming out. The food was pretty good, but not sure it was worth the cost. We were beyond impressed with the staff though. Came here with a group of 10 for a birthday dinner. We started off with some cocktails; I tried Gambler's Old Fashioned and it wasn't my cup of tea (too plain of a taste like a Jack n Coke). It took some trial & error for everyone at the table to conclude the the Blueberry Mojito is their best cocktail (taste and value wise) so we kept ordering those. For appetizer, I ordered Ahi Tuna and the Veal Osso Buco Ravioli. I expected the Ahi Tuna to be the better out of the two, but I wasn't a big fan of this Ahi Tuna. The Veal Ravioli was the appetizer underdog and was surprisingly tasty! When we were ordering dinner, I didn't realize that the sides were sold separately from the entree. I ended up getting the Filet, a side of Brussels Sprouts and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Filet was about $52 just for itself, but honestly it was totally worth it. The 11 ounces of tender medium rare beef was mouth watering and delicious. The brussels sprouts ($15) were taste and the portion size was great for a side! The lobster mac and cheese came in a huge plate, but I couldn't taster any of the lobster just the macaroni unfortunately which was a miss for $27. Our waiter Chris was actually really accommodating and always around when we all needed something. Overall, the experience and our time spent here was great. The prices are definitely high but that's expected at a steak house. Out of the few misses with the sides and the appetizer, they sure make up for it with their filet. read more

When a renowned business does a 180 on service and food, what was the catalyst? I went to a celebration for a friend and the experience was less than celebratory. Arrived and after 30 minutes of no appetizer order offered, the host stated to let guest order food as they were having beverages and need to eat, while she was socializing. Fast forward an hour and 49 minutes later, our order was taken. When brought to the attention of the waitress, she was less than apologetic. They were not busy, so not sure if the lack of service. The food was subpar, which was a first for me, because I could have overlooked the other things a little. 3 hours later, no desert menu offered, so that was it. This was our first visit to Ruth's Chris since it's new location. I take that back -- I meant first dine in experience since their opening. We've always liked the filet mignon at Ruth's Chris, and they didn't disappoint. There were some hiccups with parking though. There was no street parking available and I'm not sure whether this was a one time thing, but the entrance to Swan street for their valet parking was blocked from high street. Then, we swung around via Goodale street to enter via park street from the back, and the same effect. This was annoying as we spent 15 mins trying to get a parking spot. The ambience is nice as always. The service was pleasant, efficient, and friendly. My filet was cooked perfectly medium rare and it was tender as a filet should be. The sides were a bit of a disappointment -- neither the Brussels sprouts nor the scalloped potatoes were great. The Brussels sprouts were too oily and the scalloped potatoes were not particularly flavorful. The filet mignon is not normally my steak of choice, but that's their signature dish, and so if you are in the mood for a great filet, I'd recommend coming here. read more

This location of Ruth's Chris is nestled in the Short North, right across from the Convention Center. First, our server, Grace, was adorable and personable. She made sure everything was to our liking, and was very attentive on a ultra-busy, "Restaurant Week" night. The place was slammed! The Chopped Salad was made specially for me, without bleu cheese, and was delicious. All the diners had ribeye, each cooked to perfection and served on the iconic "500 degree" plate. The creamed spinach was quite good, as were the mashed potatoes. But the dessert? Let's just say if you're a dessert eater, save room. The Flourless chocolate cake is very rich and delectable, and the individual cheesecake had a nice, thick graham crust. Over all, a very nice experience -- and ask for Grace! read more

We visited Ruth's Chris Steak House yesterday to attend a meeting. Dinner was provided from a limited menu, so I can't say that what we had was entirely representative of what it would be during the normal dining experience. What I CAN say is I wasn't disappointed, choosing salmon over filet mignon. My dish was tender and as juicy as I could want it to be, with a wonderful flavor that made me suck down on it before swallowing each bite. And the portion was quite generous, as opposed to what I usually get when I order salmon from restaurants. If I'm not mistaken, it sat on a bed of spinach leaves, which were equally flavorful, possibly from a run-off of the juices. The mashed potatoes were very good, heavily coated with melted better which seemed to create a mild moat of sorts, around the edges. It was a little "too" creamy for my preference, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great side item. Although we sat in a private room, I noticed a very pleasant atmosphere on our way out, so they get points for that too. I had to give them four stars instead of five because the server didn't seem to make our needs his priority and, when I asked for a refill of my soft drink, it never came. I recently ordered take out once I got home found out part of my order was missing. I then called the restaurant and spoke with a closing manager who then told me a second manager was going to call me back. 5 days and still no call back I even called again and left a voicemail. Cocktails were an Old Fashion. I normally never go to a steak house and get chicken but I took his advise. The chicken was very most. Very very moist with flavor. It was enjoyable. Now it's not what I would get going to a steak house but I enjoyed . The steak was great . Good flavor. The mashed potatoes were ok but not memorable for a steak house. Plus it was a small portion. Dessert was cheese cake. It was the right size and not to Sweet. In closing Chris did a wonderful job with suggestions and services. Cocktails were pricey but I knew that from the start. Now if you know me, I don't like loud music when I'm eating . The music was perfect. I got my NOLA music at the right volume. Loved it. Is this a place I would take a friend from out of town. Yes!
