This is one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. They generally have really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Live music usually starting around 7 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is always on point and spectacular. The service is immaculate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is extremely classy and high-end.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mind you it's not cheap but you don't come here for cheap.

Came for a private event that had a pre fixe menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was great and looked like a very nice steak house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was top notch as they brought out food very timely and kept the wine flowing. Highlight of the night were definitely the cheesy potatoes and the filet. Awesome place to have a nice steak.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great happy hour plus sitting in the vibrant bar area with a band playing so so fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you know am instrument or can sing they'll invite you on stage if you want![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food never disappointing plus the happy hour food price and option soooo good and delicious. Wins is great but the bartenders are cocktail master I've attempted this golden hour can't do it but addicted to it.

It's been a little while since my visit, but Eddie V's definitely left a great impression. We went for dinner and tried a little bit of everything such as steak, lobster, and crème brûlée, and everything was spot on. The food was rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was just as good as the food. The staff was professional and attentive without being overbearing. The whole restaurant felt clean, classy, and comfortable. It is perfect for a nice night out or a special occasion. They also offer valet parking, which made things super convenient. It is on the pricier side, but the quality and atmosphere match the cost. If you are looking to treat yourself or celebrate something special, I would definitely recommend it. If my budget allowed, I would go back in a heartbeat!

We went here for my 48th birthday over the weekend. Wow what an amazing experience. First, Jonathan is THE BEST waiter we have ever had. He made me feel like a celebrity. He gave great suggestions and explained the menu wonderfully. He goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is top notch. The manager came to check on us and was so kind and also said if he can make anything better to please let him know. It's so hard to find a restaurant like this these days. The bananas foster cake was decadent. My husband and I ordered the Wagyu steak and it was the best we have had in Austin. We will definitely come back here to celebrate special occasions! The inside is warm, romantic, and comfortable.

This place never disappoints! Drinks are absolutely amazing, the service is great, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is very mellow and comforting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great date night spot or even if you want to drop in and hang out at the bar alone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hands down, this is my favorite spot to visit. Be sure to try the 24 Karat if you're in the mood for a drink, the Crab Fried Rice, and the Norwegian Salmon.

This place checks all the boxes every time we go. As appetizers we had a Caesar Salad and fresh thinly sliced pieces of Yellowtail. Exceptional! R ordered Seared Tune and I ordered the twin filets with Lobster in a Bernaise sauce. We added grilled asparagus and Potatoes Au Gratin Cheddar. Everything was outstanding including the Signature drinks we started with. Kyle was excellent throughout the evening.

Me to order lava cake. So decadent.

Great food great service great atmosphere! Chris, our waiter could not have done a better job! If you want a great steak or wonderful seafood, followed with amazing dessert. This is the place to be in Austin Texas. Eddie V is now a place. I have to go anytime I'm in Austin! And did I mention the live music? Little jazz band playing in the bar area knocked it out of the park!

You can never go wrong with Eddie V's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sunday evenings are the best time for a chill relaxing evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter Brenner was great. Very attentive and gave recommendations. The Chateu de Pez was fantastic. Had sediment which I love!!! To me that's a nicely made wine.

Yummy yummy in my tummy! I opted for Christmas Eve dinner at Eddie V's. They delivered! Leeann our super amazing server took our drink orders promptly and went over the off menu items while we sipped out delicious cocktails! Everything from the yellowtail sashimi, tuna tartare, filet minion and scallops melted in our mouths. We usually go to the arboretum location but life has a way of guiding you and we were guided to the right location tonight! Thank you Eddie V's and Leeann! You guys rock!

I've been to multiple Eddie V's locations and mainly because of the service, this by far has to be one of the best. The bartender Gary was amazing, courteous, and attentive. Unfortunately, my steak was not cooked to the requested temperature. Seth, the manager seemed to make it his personal priority to ensure the next one brought out was right and to make amends for the mishap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Needless to say, the next one was perfect and gave room for me to enjoy the bar and live music and along with the laid back atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Eddie V's in downtown Austin is at the top of my list of restaurants when I'm in the area. Way to go Seth and team!

First off, best service ever! Chardae was exceptional. I felt like she was a long lost friend. She was so fun, personable and attentive. We came for happy hour and stayed for dessert and after dinner espresso martinis. Highly recommend the happy hour mini filet sandwiches, south African lobster and tuna on rice.

Always awesome! Long tenured staff, impeccable service and high quality dishes. I come here every time I am in town because it is predictably wonderful. It's a place for those times when you are not in the mood to gamble and try something new.

Ask the Community - Eddie V's Prime Seafood

Will EV's be offering Thanksgiving dinner in November 2023?

No. They are a seafood and steak restaurant. There's no option for turkey and dressing.

Do they still do dollar oysters for happy hour?

I never knew they did "dollar oysters" for happy hour at Eddie V's and I've been a regular there for many years. But the next time I am there I am going to order a dozen as soon as I am seated! WHAT A DEAL, and I'll know before the week is out!!!

Is happy hour only available in the bar area?

Yes, Monday through Friday we offer the happy hour menu in the bar area until 6:30pm.

Do we need a reservation or do they take walk ins?

At this time reservations are required.

    Is there a dress code?

Business casual. Coat and tie are not required, but a coat and nice shirt with pants or dark colored jeans would be appropriate for men; casual chic for women.

Is live music at this location during COVID 19 times?

When we were there four weeks ago there was no live music. No groups of more than six at a table and maintaining the social distancing between tables.

Are you open on Christmas Day?

    no.

I am in Ca and would like to give a gift card or dining certificate to my son in Austin. Any ideas?

They offer eGift cards : https://m.eddiev.com/gift-cards

Murder mystery events are pretty common in Washington State, and we have attended several over the years. We have also hosted a Star Trek murder mystery dinner at our home. In case you are wondering, the hubs is the Trekkie. Since this was an all-girls event, I was flying solo. My first challenge was deciding what to wear. One thing was transparently clear...I was not about to spend money on an outfit destined to spend the rest of its life collecting dust in the back of my closet. After some extensive "research" (mainly googling 1950s fashion and perusing my closet), I pieced together a respectable 1950s outfit. It consisted of a pencil skirt with a little swing, a short-sleeved cardigan, and a sequined top to fit the prom-night theme. I completed the look with ankle socks, flat shoes, neck scarf, and a period-inspired hair clip. It would not have won an award for best dressed, however, I blended right in. Upon entering The Power Room, we were instructed to surrender our cell phones. Wait...what? My phone is essentially my third arm, personal assistant, camera, GPS, calculator and all things essential. Are you serious?! I exhaled as I handed over my phone. You received a wristband with your locker key attached. While I may not always agree with the rules, I am a dedicated rules follower. I reluctantly complied and tried to survive the acute separation anxiety. In addition, the event required a two-drink minimum, and the food options were fairly limited. Our server did an outstanding job keeping everyone's orders straight. Considering our group size and enthusiasm level, that alone deserved an award. Drinks and food were good. The murder mystery itself differed from others I have attended. Typically, the suspects are played by seasoned performers who can think on their feet and fully commit to their roles. In this version, audience members were selected to play the suspects. While this created some hilarious and unpredictable moments, it also led to occasional responses like, "I don't know," or, "Give me a minute to think about that," which is suboptimal when trying to solve a murder. Even still, the audience participation added a unique charm and plenty of laughs. At the end of the evening, awards were handed out for Best Suspect, Best Death Scene, and the team that successfully solved the murder mystery. I am proud to report that one of our friends won Best Death Scene, proving that if you're going to be murdered, you should at least go out with flair. Now for our team... Let's just say the killer will not be losing any sleep over our investigative abilities as we did not solve the murder. Importantly, the evening was tremendously fun. Between the costumes, the laughter, the over-the-top performances, and the challenge of solving the crime, it made for a memorable night out.

But it was more important to the Powder Room that the next group got their table on time, apparently. The drinks took soooo long, we got ONE round in, and were asked to leave the table before our second round arrived. They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.
