AVOID DURING HOUSTON RESTAURANT WEEK! I LOVE THIS PLACE NORMALLY! The issue is that in restaurant week/month it is full of bargain hunters doing split checks which means regulars get ignored. Long story short: I enjoy this restaurant more than Steak 48 aside from their bread (nothing special, Steak 48 is more unique). Also, this is NOT a casual dining experience - be prepared to dress more formally and spend a good money but I think it's worth it. Parking: There is 10 dollar valet or you can park in the garage not too far down the road and the walk is not bad at all. Steak 48 is harder to find parking. Service: It took a while for my drinks to come out and for some reason, they gave bread after the appetizers but other than that, they were very attentive. Food: Personally, I loved everything I got. The calamari was well fried and flavored well. Portions are also very large. Maybe I came on a good day but the steak was SO good - well made, cooked to my order, and didn't need any sauces to complement it. Also the truffle mac and cheese is delicious. Went to Eddie V's on a Saturday night for restaurant week. Ordered the 8 ounce ribeye, which was excellent. Had a glass of red wine, Pinot Noir and it was very smooth. Had the crème brûlée for dessert which was tasty.. Will definitely be returning to the restaurant which had a great ambience, live music, host was very friendly as well as other staff. To whomever this concerns: I had the best time at Eddie V's on 4/3/26. Dali was such a delight. She was knowledgeable, organized, and friendly. She is the epitome of what I know service to be at the establishment. I came to the restaurant with 6 other women, half of which had never been to the restaurant and Dali was definitely a highlight for all of us. The food was also the same quality I know and have come to expect from Eddie V's. People usually send in the complaints but I wanted to make sure I sent in the well deserved compliments. Dali was a highlight, the happy hour was immaculate, and the food was great. I will ALWAYS recommend Eddie V's if there is one near. In all I spent about $154 for 3 happy hour drinks, a crab cake, South African lobster bites, and spicy tuna on crispy rice. Note: around 630-7p they had a live band! Filet - was well seasoned cooked as ordered MR. It felt a bit small for "8oz". I typically can't finish a 6oz filet but I finished this entire piece. 4/5 for flavor/taste. 3/5 for size. Garlic mashed potatoes 3/5, were very garlicky. I love garlic mash but thought they coulda blended or balanced the garlic flavor a bit better. Had an excellent time at Eddie V's this past weekend. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had a great time and a great experience at the restaurant. The host were very accommodating as our reservation went from a party of 12 to a party of eight they quickly accommodate it their request and sat us down with no issue. Our server was Roman or Ronan, and he was very knowledgeable of the menu and of the beverages served. We really appreciated his knowledge and attentiveness to us. For my drink, I ordered The hope diamond which was a statement piece to our table. The drink was really good had floral accents and of course it was pretty to look at. For dinner, I ordered the grilled jumbo shrimp and the lobster mashed potatoes. The jumbo shrimp had lump crab in it or on top of it and it was season very well. It wasn't two rubbery. It was perfect. The lobster mashed potatoes with something. I've never tried before. The mashed potatoes were buttery topped with pieces of lobster. I really love the consistency of the mashed potatoes. They weren't overcooked or too runny. However, the butter was a little overpowering, but still delicious. I'm only rating this off their Restaurant Week Menu. I liked that they included a steak option that did not have an up charge like most restaurants during HRW. They give you a free appetizer/beginner of a watermelon palate cleanser - I didn't like it and even our waitress said she doesn't like it, honestly feels like a waste to include it if no one really touches it. The appetizer choices that my group and I tried were the fried shrimp and lobster bisque. Both we thought were pretty good and rate it a 4/5 For the main my friends and I ordered the salmon or the filet mignon. The salmon was great but the side of just vegetables were okay. The filet was a decent size and cooked well but the potatoes it comes with were punch in the face with garlic. I love garlic but even I thought it was a bit much. 3/5 Dessert we all got the banana's foster. The other options didn't seem as nice which were berries and cream or ice cream. They definitely gave you a good portion. I enjoyed it - was very sweet but it was good. 3/5 We also decided to get drinks, a wine, a mule, and the diamond. Memorable and Delicious! Every time! I was treated to dinner hear and wanted to share the experience. It starts with the valets who are top notch and they approach as quickly as you as you arrive and greet you. Entering the doors someone usually greets you as well and welcomes you in as the doors are held open. Thank you! Next the host(ess) ensures you are quickly seated. The decor as a hold says what to expect and what type of experience it should be, fine dining at its best. This is further contributed to by the elegance of the wait staff as if in a gala or ball making it even more incredible. To top it off no one is just standing around and are constantly filling gaps as necessary from topping off your glass to removing an empty dish from your table. It's as if they have been trained to be a cohesive unit. Now my dish deserves to be commended along with Atul the manager whom I feel greets every guests, however on this occasion me. My hat off to the chef for their work as well. Along with my server. I put myself at the mercy of the chef creativity who prepares something vegan friendly and has never failed. I made a same day reservation for a friend's birthday. When I arrived, I got a table for two which is all I expected to show up. I told our waiter, Sam that it was my friend's birthday and he immediately went into overdrive .He decorated the table with rose petals ,a card and a rose. I think Eddie Vs is so worth the special night out. My friend treated me to their Champagne nights special that was a lobster roll, fries and glass of wine for $39. It was the best lobster roll I've had in houston and this is from someone whose lived in boston (this was better than any ive had in boston) and tried Loch bar recently and it doesn't come close. I have also been several times for dinner in the dining room and everything is delicious. The live band was amazing. Drinks were perfect. Staff is so sweet! Also everytime I'm celebrating they decorate the table and give me a special dessert with writing in chocolate. I always get the bananas foster butter cake that is to die for. From the moment we arrived to the table, their was a birthday card and decoration to welcome out celebration. The service was excellent and the server went above and beyond to make our celebration special. The restaurant is really classy and romantic. We started with the crabcake. This is one that I almost always order. It's one of the best and unique compared to other restaurants. It has a nice crisp to it, similar to hash browns. If you haven't tried the crabcake, I encourage you to try it! For the main entrees we had the Australian lamb chops and Dover sole. I was worried about the lamb chops not having a nice medium rare color, but they did! A lot of restaurants tend to over cook lamb chops and cut them too thin. Eddie V's cooked them to perfection. My partner doesn't even like lamb, and she said she would order them next time we dine in. The Dover sole was delicious. The parmesan crust really complimented the fish. Even the left over were phenomenal the next day. For the side items, we ordered potato au gratin and truffle Mac and cheese. The side were massive! I appreciated this! The potatoes were creamy and the truffles seemed like the real deal. For dessert we had the banana cake. This is another menu item I would recommend. It's one of the more popular desserts and is unique. It comes we with their homemade pecan praline ice cream. There are many small gestures that both management and staff made to make our dining experience special. I won't go into detail, but I feel like it's important to make this a point. Funny enough, I live within walking distance of Eddie V's and am just now checking it out. We decided to hop over for happy hour and grab seats at the bar which worked out nicely. The bartenders, and really the entire staff, were so friendly and helpful! You can tell that quality service is very important here and they care about providing a great experience for guests. It was a night of firsts for me having both a cosmopolitan and steak tartare for the first time, both of which were great! We ended up running out of crostini baguettes for our tartare and they brought us more without having to ask. The real star of the show for me were the mini filet sandwiches from the happy hour menu. Wow, these were SO tasty I was tempted to get a second order of them. To end the night I got an espresso martini and appreciated the bartender asking what ratio of coffee to cream that I'd prefer. My friend got the smoked old fashion and this drink was an experience! They bring over a board with all of the ingredients and put together the cocktail right in front of you, smokiness and all. Toward the end of our meal, a live band began to play which was such a nice touch! Sib was amazingly attentive. She did not hover, but she was there if we needed her. My companion and I dined on the V lounge side. I didn't get the name of the band, but they were exceptional (80's hits). The only problem was they were a bit loud for my taste. It made it quite difficult to hold a conversation without elevating your voice. For starters, we had the crab cake which was flaky, lumpy goodness! For entrees, my companion had Gulf Shrimp, I had the branzino and our accompaniments were Brussel sprouts and potatoes au gratin. My daughter really enjoyed the crab rice. The steaks were okay. I've had better. They didn't come out on a hot sizzling plate like some other fine dining restaurants do. We started off with the crab cake for the appetizer and it was to die for!! The crab to filling ratio was extremely surprising. I enjoyed it! I ended up getting the 10 oz filet with mashed potato's and asparagus. My steak was cooked perfectly! There was a lot of teamwork going on with the staff that was very nice to see.
