Working downtown you'd think I'd already have visited The Palm, but this was my first experience and I've been missing out, especially on the steak. Met a client for dinner and started with a Cabernet that is only found here "The Butcher's Choice" and it was a delicious selection. I challenged the bartender saying I might be able to find it elsewhere, but from when I checked, it's not at the wine select location. Ambiance: 5/5 *There is a Dress Code* (see photo for full details) White tablecloths usually mean fine dining, and since it's downtown, a lot of business dinners or happy hours were going on. It's dimly lit and some music playing. But clean and there's a lot of artwork around. Good for solo, date or group. Just be sure to place those reservations. Service: 5/5 From upon arriving with the host being friendly and waiting on us to get seated to our server being attentive and checking on us regularly, we never lacked anything. Food: 3/5 For starters we got Jumbo shrimp cocktail served with cocktail sauce and horseradish and crabmeat cocktail served with the same sauces. Both were finger licking good and I wanted more of the horseradish sauce just to have. I ordered the Wagyu Lasagna and while the flavor was fully present but the lasagna itself was watery almost soupy. Like it needed some additional time to cook. I decided then to save some to reheat later. I only ate two rolls of it (it's not your typical layered lasagna, it was rolled like sushi with 4 rolls). I took three home because my coworker gave me his and when I reheated it, the flavors had a chance to marinate and tasted even better after reheating. My client got the steak and allowed me to try it. That steak had a perfect char on it and the savory flavors just dripping from it. I see that they have a lunch special and if that steak is on the menu, I will return for it. If you're in downtown or want a change up from the typical steakhouses, The Palm offers some good options, but at a bit pricier cost. Live well & savor the vibes!

The 1st picture is of a Mexican Martini. There was a bartender named Larkin who introduced me to this concoction. AWESOME The shrimp dish was phenomenal. Unfortunately, the app didn't save the name of the dish as I saved it as a draft. The customer service was outstanding as always at the Palm! I recommend this restaurant. The ambience is always excellent staff very attentive! GN3

Parking was kind of bad. It could've been due to a busy day. We ended up forgoing valet and using a parking garage. I like that they have late reservations available. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. The espresso martinis were ok. We waited the longest time for our food orders. I ordered a medium steak and received well done. I ended up not getting one of the sides I'd ordered. It's a chill environment. The live music was nice. It seems like a restaurant to go and have a quick drink or two.

Just celebrated my birthday here with my friends and everything was to perfection. Jessie our server was nothing but professional. He recommended thing and help me get the best. I had the lobster and it was sooo good. I really and job this place and highly recommend. The atmosphere was also very chill and classy. 10/10

The ambiance was enjoyable in the piano bar area. Live music is always a plus. The food was tasty, but I wish the food was warmer. It seemed like it was sitting out for awhile. I ordered medium rare + and it was on the more done side of medium. The wedge salad was delicious and flavorful. The chocolate cake was large, yet a little crumbly and dry. The keylime my friend has was noteworthy! Creaming and bright.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cori outside of the restaurant, and he spoke so highly of The Palm that I knew I had to experience it for myself and I'm so glad I did. It happened to be during their 100-year celebration, which made the experience even more special. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The appetizers, including the croquettes and shrimp dish, were a perfect introduction. For my entrée, I ordered the tomahawk with brussels sprouts and cheesy mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. And the tiramisu paired with a shot of espresso on the side? Truly unforgettable. I can't stop thinking about this place. Not just because of the incredible food, but because of the service. Cori went above and beyond, educating us on the history of the company, the staff, and even the different rooms. That level of care and attention made the entire experience feel top-tier. Everything about this visit was flawless. I will absolutely be back. Perfect setting for any occasion. Request Cori!!! You will not be disappointed.

A lot of people ask what your top three favorite restaurants in Houston and I am going to make a bold statement and say it is The Palm, hands-down. I remember when back in the day, this was a Yelp black event and I was impressed. That location has since closed but this downtown location is gorgeous. As a Landry restaurant, they will ask for your member number and I look forward to earning some points. I booked my reservation for this night and I needed to move it, but it was done with ease and I even got a call from the general manager, confirming the time change with hence to get there slightly before 9 PM since it was the last service dinner for the evening before kitchen closes. The Palm is a great spot to meet with friends, have a romantic dinner, and you can be assured that the service and food is going to be, the best possibly can be. I am happy to report that last night's romantic dinner went well and it was all that I dreamed it to me. Ramon was our server and I've had him before and he is on top of it and non-intrusive. The New York strip steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and as it goes for steaks, I think it is much better than what I've had at B&B Butchers, back in the day and another place I can't remember right now. If you need to entertain someone for lunch, have a nice long dinner with loquacious company, this is your spot, hands down. They have special wine dinners, live music and a beautiful bar. Valet is $13 or you can try to find street parking. On Waze, you can see surrounding parking lots with prices listed in the Waze app. Nice. My overall experience: 100%, 5/5 will return. In fact, I may return later today lol and I'll ask for Ramon in my usual gray booth please. And make sure Sinatra is playing in the background.

We were here for lunch. 1st impression of the restaurant on ambiance wasn't impressed. Service was nice and food was good So it ended up well. But the decor in the restaurant was just nah... The ravioli lobster was really good and they are not shy on putting lobster in it. You surely can taste the lobster. The papadelle was ok. The calamari was awful not fried correctly bcoz it was soggy and not crunchy as it should be since it's a fried dish.

Typically I'm not one to participate in any restaurant week, mainly due to my aversion created by my time living in NYC (#1). The spell was broken for this year's Houston Restaurant Week, which ironically featured a New York institution turned international chain in The Palm Restaurant. Habitually, I'm rarely a single-visit reviewer (#2), chain seeker, or downtown diner, but I bend the rules in the name of quality dining companionship. The ambiance is in line with so many Palm locations: intimate lighting, fine dining sophistication, spacious interior, and a slew of caricature decor to immortalize famous people throughout the the establishment. I was particularly tickled by the Houston homage art showcasing Houston Astro players, a nod to oil and gas industries, and local characters. My choices for HRW 2023 was a Palm Caesar salad, along with an 8oz rare filet mignon with garlic mash, finished with a key lime pie for dessert. At $70, it was still a premium meal but a good one at that. While the salad wasn't particularly memorable, my filet mignon was excellent. It was rare but not bloody and the meat quality was exceptional. The sear was just right, the additional 2 oz portion ($15 add on) was good portion wise, and the tenderness of the meat was superb. The mash was a proper personal sized portion, which was tasty with a nice finish. I added my roasted garlic into the mash for additional flavor and it was an indulgent approach to an otherwise average side. My key lime pie was as creamy as it was tart, making for a very good final act for a solid dinner lineup. I saw the zeppoles looking like donut holes and I found the $5 extra for the Junior's cheesecake extremely amusing. (#3) A special shout out to their surf-n-turf special, which was designed for two people that includes a whole lobster split in two and coupled with a 4oz filet, with a choice of an appetizer and dessert. While I didn't try the dish, I was pretty impressed with the amount of lobster meat they had and I appreciate the staff for going extra hard in getting the chunks out. Overall, I appreciated the attentive service (thanks Ramon!), clean bathrooms, and quality eats. Parking is valet with the option of garages across the street. Street parking is also available, which I thankfully scored a spot that didn't charge after 6pm. I'd come back in a heartbeat. It won't take a restaurant week promotion to get my participation next time. __________ (#1) NYRW is a gamble. And oftentimes, a losing proposition of mediocre execution for overpriced food. Most locals would rather just pay for the regular experience than get a condensed version of it. (#2) Seeing as I've dined at a number of their sister locations, I felt this was merited. (#3) If it was Eileen's, Veniero's, or Cascon, it'd be a different story.
