    Steak and Eggs

Great diner with quick service, I was in and out in 25 minutes, and they refilled my coffee 4 times, exactly what I want in a diner. The Steak and Eggs was good, steak was decent sized and the eggs were cooked to my liking. A nice surprise was they let me choose between shredded or cubed hash browns, most places only have one option. Inside is typical diner booths, I came here on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't too busy inside.

Since I live nearby, I've driven by Eddy's Cafe quite a few times and had yet to stop in so I decided to head over and grab some breakfast last month. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was able to sit where I wanted. The restaurant definitely had a small town, diner vibe and you could tell it was a local's favorite. After looking over the menu, I decided on the French Toast, Eddy's Omelet and a cup of coffee. The food was brought out fairly quickly and my server made sure I had everything I needed, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the French Toast was not my favorite. It had zero flavor and tasted like fried bread, some powdered sugar would've helped it out a lot. The Eddy's Omelet was actually pretty good though. It included cheese, bacon, green peppers, onions and tomatoes with a special sauce drizzled on top. When my bill came, it was $30 which I thought was quite pricey for what I ordered. The service was great but the food was pretty mediocre, in my opinion. Not sure if I would return unfortunately.

A good local restaurant with a diner vibe, good basic food and reasonable prices. Came early on a Sunday morning and we were greeted immediately and sat immediately. My mom was in a wheelchair and that was absolutely not a problem. Service was friendly.....small town friendly with refills on coffee and water without asking. And I love the non matching cute, feel like home coffee mugs. My mom got a bagel. Can't mess that up. My sister got biscuits and gravy and she cleared her plate. I got the bagel sandwich with bacon and the bagel was extra toasted per my request. Only thing was I asked for shredded potatoes and got cubed. No biggie....it's all delicious. Breakfast came out fast. Food was great. I would definitely go back for a basic breakfast that is fast and reasonable. Plenty of seating in booths and it looked like a diner style bar seating in back. Plenty of parking since it's in a shopping center.

Classic American diner with your favorite breakfast dishes. Decent seating inside and fairly busy on weekends. Vast menu options and very well priced. Don't recommend the chipped beef- not much flavor and very little beef. Can't go wrong with classic eggs and shredded hash browns. Good place to go away from the oceanfront during busy event weekends

Eddy's Cafe is like a cozy home away from home. The staff there are friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, even when it got busy. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed their eggs because I'm not really an "egg" person! It might just become my new favorite spot to hang out.

This breakfast spot was a really nice surprise for my husband and I. We honestly just stumbled upon this place when driving through the plaza and decided to check it out for brunch. Immediately when walking in, the whole place was bustling and all the booths were filled, but the hostess in the front said that there were 2 seats available at the counter in the back, which my husband and I didn't mind eating at. Right when we sat down, a waitress greeted us and took our drinks and a few minutes after took our orders. We really didn't have to wait much for anything right when we sat down. I ordered the eggs benedict with crab meat and my husband got the steak and eggs. Everything was delicious and hit the spot when we finished. Even the lady sitting next to me asked me what my food was, she said that it looked super delicious. This place has a homey feeling where everyone will take care of you. We will definitely be coming back for another brunch date!

Finally had a day off to stop in and try the food here. I've stopped by on weekends before and left because I was too impatient to wait for a table. A Friday at 1:30 was perfect timing. No wait at all. Service was great, waitress was attentive and friendly and the food was good. I had the eggs benedict with crab and it didn't disappoint. Yeah it lacked a little seasoning and I added some salt and pepper but everything was cooked perfectly. I would definitely come back for breakfast and would try other foods on the menu.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

They've made some updates since my last review. I noticed they swapped out the bar stools for what seem to be a bit more accommodating in style. They added cushion to the church benches, although they are a bit "grippy". They updated the other bar and also the outside area. I believe they have a cornhole section and from what I could tell, an area that could be really fun during the warmer months. The overall vibe is so quirky, cool, different, and I just love how it's decorated. The other locations have the same sort of intrigue but in much different ways. I still love the OG Bay Local and probably need to visit there again to be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place, but the location on General Booth... hard to beat, especially being so close. Another positive is the food quantity, quality, and price for what you are getting. Sure, almost every food establishment had to raise their price, but Bay Local seem to be very reasonable, ESPECIALLY for what you get. I know several other places that have good food, but you are paying several dollars more for what Bay Local offers that is similar (in some cases) but not slacking on portion control and quality. That is huge! Bay Local is a "well-oiled machine" with management, staff, and operations (not their first rodeo). The staff are attentive, friendly, fast in service, including fixing anything that may not have been correct, and still hold the quality of what they offer. Congrats to a great establishment, and it will remain on the top slots of our brunch list!

The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.

The staff were working so hard getting orders out. Taylor was amazing. She had such a good attitude and made sure we were taking care of. The seating is indoors, outdoors, and on covered patio. So you have a selection to choose from. I noticed it is a good area for families to come as there is a little outdoor play area for children.

I ordered the Williamsburg Bagel, which consisted of lox, plain cream cheese, tomato, capers, and red onion. I originally wanted it on an Everything bagel, but since they were out, I went with a Garlic bagel instead. Even though it was a tad bit crowded, my sandwich was ready in about 5 mins. I've had the Williamsburg Bagel before so I was excited to enjoy it again but I wasn't a big fan of the thick-cut red onions they added on there, and I actually love onions! Unfortunately, I ended up taking most of them off. I also wish it had more cream cheese, the thin layer on the bottom just wasn't enough for me. That said, the bagel itself was fresh and overall, the sandwich tasted good. At almost $20, it did feel a little pricey for a bagel sandwich, but I enjoyed it. I'd definitely come back to try other options. The interior is full of Brooklyn pictures, which I love! Definitely check them out if you're in the area!

My husband and a friend came here on a Thursday morning to order 6 items and they were gone for almost an hour (it was a 10 minute drive from where we stayed). They come back with a bag of "bagels" (if that's what you want to call them) drenched in ketchup. Our orders were extremely simple: BEC w/PK on a plain bagel Egg and cheese on a croissant BEC w/PK on an asiago bagel Taylored Ham, egg & cheese on a bagel Toasted everything bagel with lox & cream cheese Here is everything that went wrong: 1. The bagel store didn't offer BACON, so we ended up substituting for sausage. The sausage patty was probably the size of my kid's palm- that's how small it was. The eggs were overcooked and had no taste, but don't worry, they'll make sure to smother the entire bagel with ketchup to make up for it. 2. TOASTED bagel with lox & cream cheese- bagel was not toasted, and there wasn't any lox available. 3. Egg & cheese on a croissant- the place didn't have any croissants... so had to substitute this for a roll 4. It was the chef's second day in the kitchen. Bagels alone wasn't great quality..it was edible enough, but extremely chewy and stiff, especially after taking so long to prepare the orders and with two people working in a place that is seemingly popular with the Yelp Community, the amount of time it took this order to be ready was a little ridiculous. I ordered the same thing back home the following day and it took less time to make here in NJ than it did here on a non-busy day with just my husband and friend as their sole customer at the time.
