I had a late dinner here with a friend during a recent visit to Chicago. The place is small, but very adorable. It's an intimate setting, much better for small groups (1-4 people). Because it was late, we didn't have to wait at all to get seated, which is always a plus. We ended up ordering a charcuterie board, and focused on the spicy meats, like the spicy hot casalingo. We really enjoyed the meats. For entrees, I ordered their sagebutter gnocchi, and they did not hold back in the brown butter. It was delicious, but the pancetta was a lot saltier than expected, so I avoided eating that. Besides that, I really enjoyed the gnocchi. Overall, I had a solid experience, and would go back again the next time I'm in Chicago and in the Dearborn area. read more

I am writing about my huge disappointment in this restaurant!  My daughter moved to Chicago (from Minneapolis) a couple years ago. On my last visit to see her, she took me to Eduardo's Enoteca. This was a very big mistake!  The behavior of the hostess started as rude and became completely unacceptable within minutes. We had no choice but to leave.  I want potential diners to know what to expect. There was nothing welcoming or kind about her and, like it or not, she was the face of this restaurant.  We have only met amazing people in Chicago so we know she was the exception. Last Sunday I was planning to have a relaxed late lunch. I arrived at the place around 3:30. Except for another table and me the place was empty. I ordered desert and an after dinner drink. I was planning to have another drink and coffee. All of a sudden the waiter drops the check on the table without asking if I had finished. I find it extremely rude when this happens. It is insulting and presumptuous of the waiter to assume that I am finished and that it is time for me to leave. I left my desert and drink on the table, walked to the waiter, explained why I was upset and gave him my card to pay the bill. He did not apologize, instead ordered me, in a military type tone, to put on my mask. I did so, paid him and left no tip. This service sucks. There are other places where I can spend $50 and relax. This waiter talked himself out of a tip. Also I was planning to spend more which would have been good dor the place and the waiter. Human stupidity knows no limits! read more

Met a friend here for dinner a few weeks ago. It was a nice little find. I thought the portions were a little small, but what can you expect just outside the Viagara Triangle? We started with wine flights. Seemed odd that they didn't come in wine glasses (especially for an Italian joint), but whatever. I liked my white flight. My friend didn't care for the Italian reds. He said they were pretty boring. We started with the shrimp toast. It was good! A little messy, but with it. I had the gnocchi. It was good that I had a late lunch because I probably would have still been hungry after this. I enjoyed it but it was too small for a full meal generally. My friend had the chicken and potatoes. The portion was better. The chicken was well seasoned (lots of rosemary) but pretty dry. I'd come back but with different expectations. read more

I can't say good enough things about this restaurant. Prior to Covid, we loved coming in for a dinner. The space is cozy, staff is incredibly nice, and the food is great. Their quarantine takeout is also top notch. The food tasted just like we were dining there, they recommended a great bottle of wine, and we got some fresh ingredients to take home to make pizza later. Will always be a favorite read more

We just happened upon this place and decided to pop in for brunch. It turned out to be one of the best decisions EVER!!!! It's an adorable spot with friendly, charming servers and a spectacularly creative menu (both food and drinks.) I've been coming to this adorable Italian spot for years. Their food, ambiance, and service is unmatched. During the pandemic, they've expanded their outdoor dining and go above and beyond to accommodate their customers. This evening, I ordered for pickup. The order was incorrect. Let me preface that the food here is great. If you don't come sit and eat in the restaurant your experience will likely be less than great. I live in the neighborhood and frequently order pickup and delivery. It doesn't matter if you use their website or a third party app, your order will either be incorrect or will not be made at all (though you will be charged). If you let them know that the order is incorrect, they will not fix it but instead require you to place and pay for a new order. Twice I have walked 15 mins to pickup in person and have been told they didn't make the food and forgot to call to update. Of the ten takeout orders my partner and I have placed here, we have only gotten the correct order twice. read more

After being house bound for a few days with stinking colds, we were both feeling well enough to go out and healthy enough to not be worried about being 'typhoid marys' but didn't have much energy. Eduardo's was a few blocks from where we were staying and sounded like just the ticket. At 4pm the place was deserted and we were seated in the best 2 top in the place, in the window. Usually we would have explored the wine menu, but other than noting that it looked promising, we went straight to hot tea and soup. Special soup of the day was the squash with creme and scallions, a satisfying hot bowl of soup that was a nice balance of a bit if chunky and none of the overpowering sweetness some squash soup suffer from. This had the natural sweetness of the squash, but nice savory notes also. Himself has the minestrone and loved it. Flavourful broth and a good balance of vegetables made for a classic dose of 'Italian Penicillin' that soothed the sore throat and and weary soul. We shared a plate of the lobster house made ravioli in a light lemon sauce, which was some of the best lobster ravioli I have had. Often I find that lobster ravioli over promises and under delivers, these did not and we were scraping up the sauce at the end. Only critical note is that I found the pasta a tiny bit more al dente than is to my taste, but I like my pasta much less firm than my Sicilian Nona cooked her's, so my opinion of that shouldn't be a measuring stick. Himself thought it was perfect and I cleaned up my side of the plate ; -) At the end of the meal we had the pumpkin cheese cake, which was smooth and light and delicious, along with the third refill of our teapots. Service was pleasant and they were gracious about us lingering over our meal. I offer a firm thumbs up. Maybe when they are really busy the service slips some, according to a few reviews, but I think you have to get really unlucky to have a bad meal here. We have found a hidden gem here in Chicago's Gold Coast! Eduardo's Enoteca is an intimate eatery that has outstanding food and service. Enoteca is Italian for Wine bar and this place lives up to its name by offering variety of wines from small production wineries. And for those who prefer beer, they also have array of craft beers as well. To start, the Artisanal Cheese Charcutiere is a must especially since you get to choose from the assortment of cheese and salumi. Very knowledgeable waiters can also recommend if you're not sure what to get. Charred Brussels sprouts with crispy pancetta and caramelized garlic is very tasty. Our favorite was the Lobster Ravioli, light but full of flavor. Don't forget their pizzas, all comes with delicious options of meats, vegetable and cheese on thin crust. Our choice was the Alla Vodka, which had fresh bufala mozzarella, and the Diavola with spicy peperoni, basil and white truffle oil. Both excellent! Eduardo's Enoteca does not take reservations, the wait on a Saturday night was not too long but even if it was, definitely worth the wait! read more

We've ordered carry-out from Eduardo's several times over the past couple months and it is always fantastic. I always start with the Italian chopped salad, which is fresh and delicious, and full of veggies. The spicy baked shrimp capellini is incredible - so flavorful and a very generous portion of shrimp. My boyfriend has gotten different kinds of pizza and they've all been great. The carry-out process is also well done and easy to navigate. Highly recommend! read more

Eduardo's has wonderful food and even better customer service. I visited this restaurant last night to celebrate a birthday and everyone had a great time. Sabra, our waitress was absolutely amazing - so incredibly nice and probably one of the best waitresses I have had in years! You can never go wrong with pizza at Eduardo's, but I highly recommend the lobster ravioli. They have incredible deserts too! I am definitely looking forward to coming back soon. read more

This restaurant is close by my apartment so I'd passed by a number of times, and I'd always been dying to go because it's such a cute spot! They don't normally take reservations but made an exception for a party of 8 to celebrate my birthday. The dinner was amazing. It's such a cute, cozy place with only about 7 tables so we were very well taken care of. The menu has great variety and they serve great cocktails at reasonable prices. HIGHLY recommend the caesar salad and the margherita pizza. Big tip - apparently the owner's mom owns a bakery, so if you come here for a celebration they'll offer to cater in a cake from the bakery. The cake they got was so cute and amazingly decorated!! Perfect size to share with our whole party. It made the birthday celebration really special. read more

The ambiance is an 8/10. The service is a 6/10. But where they really lose points is in the take home area. I opted to take home my half sandwich, fries, and veggies. The place is nicely decorated and has a good ambiance. We were excited to try it out since our friends who live nearby strongly recommend it. We were seated and waited for good 15 min for a waiter to find out that both burgers (we came especially to try the impossible burgers) and vegan Alfredo pasta are unavoidable. Big disappointment. Especially that it was the last thing to do for us before we leave the city and we wasted that time instead of being told right when we entered which items are unavailable. So two stars for the decor and nice music in the background. And probably on other days when they have everything on their menu it can be a great experience. Eduardo's just feels like a neighborhood favorite. It's a tiny place but on a Thursday night we waited about 5 minutes to be seated; later in the night there was a couple groups waiting to be seated. It has a really industrial but somehow warm feel and the outdoor patio, although October, was open for business and hopping, along with the small bar seating inside. We started off with the Parma Crostini with mozzarella and prosciutto. Both ingredients tasted extremely fresh and the bread was the perfect texture that you could actually bite into it without breaking a tooth. My only problem was paying $7 for only two crostini....but given the location I guess it makes sense. I had the sage butter gnocchi. Coming fresh off a trip from Italy and experiencing sage butter gnocchi made on a local farm I was a little worried. I wouldn't say it blew me away but it came close to being impressive compared to the Italian style. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the pancetta added such a good smokiness-loved the egg on top as well! The portion is definitely small-although this is a VERY rich and filling dish. It could've used a little more butter to keep the gnocchi moist while I slowly finished it. We also tried to fall seasonal desserts-pumpkin cheesecake and a lava cake with UNREAL blueberry basil ice cream. The ice cream took the cake-so subtle. Wish they would sell this stuff. The lava cake was probably the most disappointing thing of the night. It had no smooth chocolate center and was obviously overcooked and dry. But I can look past it because of the ice cream. Service was great and attentive-we chatted with our waiter and he was helpful in pointing out the smaller portion sizes to encourage us to get enough food. So the portions were small given the price. Wish they were a little cheaper so we could feel better about getting more to share. But the ambiance of this place is spot on and I already can't wait to return! read more

Eduardo's is a terrific neighborhood spot that offers speedy delivery (usually 30 minutes or so) and great food. We love the diavolo pizza (mildly spicy with pepperoni and truffle oil) and spicy kale Caesar. It's terrific to sit outside at their lovely sidewalk cafe area and enjoy an Aperol spritz and a light dinner in the summer. The outdoor area is dog friendly and the staff are great. Have ordered online many times and love their food. However my first time eating there last week - a 45 minute lunch break turned into 3 hours due to slow service. The server initially got my order wrong and guilted me into keeping it as their kitchen was busy and said it would have taken much longer to prepare what I actually ordered if I wanted to return the dish. Then she ended up trying to charge me for me larger plate which was $10 more than my original order!! Today, my friends and I ordered bagels from inside for breakfast and went to sit outside in the shade (as they said it would be a 30 minute wait). A waiter quickly told us we had to leave and couldn't sit there as it was considered a different restaurant even though it's in the same place! I would understand if the place was packed but there was only 1 table of people sitting very far away.... Bad customer service. read more

I'm visiting and a very friendly local gave me a list a restaurants to try and had a special sparkle when he mentiones this one. I picked up on the special sparkle and made sure to head here for dinner the first time I was ready for a big filling meal. I'm so glad I did! Small, cutesy, cozy place with only about 7 tables and a menu/dished that are clearly prepared with care and rotated frequently. Definitely try it, even if you're not local - you'll feel like a local after you go! Appetizer: Ate eggplant crostini, was delish! Main: I had saved up some calorie budget for some yummy so I had fettucini alfredo with chicken. The chicken was impressively seasoned and the alfredo was unique and yummy. Dessert: I had a peppermint cheesecake (from the seasonal menu) that was delicious! However, we showed up 11 minutes late to our reservation and the hostess gave us SO much sass, saying how they have a 10 min grace period just to give us an unnecessary slap on the wrist (yes we shouldn't have been late but no need to do that when there's plenty of tables open). Then while we were finishing up, we heard the same hostess tell another couple VERY loudly and pointing right at us that they are waiting on me to finish my wine...we had been there for an hour 40 (I know there's a 2 hour limit) and we felt incredibly rushed by what she said. I live in the area and have been wanting to come here for some time. This night it was raining real hard and we wanted something nearby so we decided to eat here. The staff were really nice as they closed our umbrella for us and served us beer while we waited. We finally got our table and were able to sit down. Unfortunately, our waiter was a dud, in comparison to the rest of the staff we encountered. We ordered the Cauliflower which was ok, the potatoes and brussel sprouts which were great, a pizza which was good, the caprese salad which was ok, and the mushroom pasta which was also ok. Overall, it was a nice meal but like I said our server...he did not add to the experience even though we tried to make him crack a smile. I've walked by Eduardo's a number of time always thinking in the back of my mind that I'll come back for dinner. But as with most things I was always distracted by all the other bars/restaurants in the city. Finally I made my way here. It's an intimate space with a small patio. Great date night place. The cocktail list looked delicious but we opted for wine. In my head if I'm having italian I must have wine. The ceaser salad is not your traditional romaine and cesar dressing salad. Eduardo's comes had chicory, fennel and radish along with other items. I only wish there had been slightly more parmasean on it. On the waitors recommendation we ordered the margarita pizza. Simple and delicious. The tomato sauce is bright and nothing beats mozzarella and basil (though again I could have used a little more basil on it but that's just me). All in all a great summer night meal enjoyed on the patio. read more

The BEST New York Style Pizza that I've had in Chicago. If you're from the tri-state or New England area, you are used to that certain something...the layer of oil on top, the extra sauce at the crusts edge, the oregano and a little pepper speckled on top ...look no further! The difference is - fantastic and friendly service. AND you can customize anything: put chicken on a salad or pasta dish, etc... One of my all-time favorite ambiances in Chicago for a cozy and deliciously intimate date. The place is not large, certainly a "neighborhood spot", filled with tasteful but minimalist rustic/woodsy decor. No loud blaring music, no harsh lights, just gentle background noise that is completely unmemorable, but comfortable. Waiters are attentive but balance it beautifully with being unobtrusive as well. The food is also delicious. For someone who eats healthy and generally goes low-carb, it is annoyingly difficult to eat Italian. This is certainly light Italian fare, as advertised, however. Crispy brussel sprouts with pancetta are delicious with just the right amount of oil to crisp but not enough to make you feel gross. Crostinis are delicate whiffs of toast with a variety of creative toppings, all with a genuine farm-to-table air. Had a fish dish (seasonal) that was perfectly crisped, like the brussel sprouts with very balanced and light flavors. Perfect place for a date with someone you actually really like. Yummy food and cute decor! My bestie took me here for dinner on one of my last nights in Chicago. I am so happy she did! This restaurant is a gem! It's pretty small, but cozy. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was nice at first, but seemed nonchalant when we decided to stick with our waters. My friend ordered the mesclun crab salad and I got the bolognese. Our food came out after about 10-15 min. Everything was delicious! Pasta was cooked al dente and my friend said her salad was fresh, and loaded with crab meat. I would've come here every night for dinner just to try each dish on the menu! Next time I'm back I will definitely try the gnocchi. Just wish the service had been more pleasant to match the overall ambiance and delicious food. read more

A reasonably priced, unpretentious, nice but casual wine bar with a hand-picked wine & craft beer list, well-made thin-crust pizzas, and that's veggie & vegan friendly?? Yes please! Eduardo's Enoteca is a fantastic addition to the Gold Coast. I was lucky enough to attend a preview when I was home over Thanksgiving (aptly called "Drinksgiving") where there was an open bar, a special handcrafted Thanksgiving-themed cocktail (cranberry!) and lots of passed platters. The menu covers the gamut from meat & cheese plates to crostini to pastas to, of course, pizzas. This is a new restaurant concept from the deep-dish Edwardo's family that's focused on serving healthier, more nuanced Italian dishes. And from what I tasted, they're off to an amazing start. First, I must commend the generous usage of truffle oil. I'm a sucker for truffle oil. The Fusilli Funghi Tartufo has all of my favorites combined into one delicious dish: handmade, long fusilli pasta with cremini mushrooms, parmesan, white truffle oil, parsley and scallions. The truffle oil was also in full effect on the Mushroom Crostini, which came with ricotta, sweet onions, garlic and balsamic on a piece of crispy sourdough toast (that wasn't too thin or too thick). The margherita pizza was delightfully simple, all flavor and no froufrou-ness. Oh...not only do they deliver...they deliver WINE. Yep. If only they delivered to LA.
