I've dined at Edwards for over a decade. The movies they used to play on the wall, the acoustic guitar live music was soft & made the evening so wonderful. Tonight? It was heavy metal, all night, because of the upstairs bar they've added on. Heavy metal and cloth napkins, do not match. The fish is great, salads great, server was attentive. Atmosphere is as important as the food & judging by the 4 open tables at 7:30 while la crema had a 2 hour wait, was proof that this place isn't what it could be, should be or used to be. read more

We happened upon this place by accident as we were trying to find Cowgirl Kitchen. CK was packed so we walked down the block to where we heard live music being played. We had no problem getting a table immediately on the patio next to two flaming heat lamps to keep us at just the right temperature. Let me just state that in coming to the Destin area, the food selections have been very hit or miss. Edward's was a terrific surprise to find such delicious, well-prepared meal in a lovely place that was completely unexpected. The freshly baked bread is just the start. I then had a perfectly cooked flat-iron steak with pommes frites. My wife had some oysters that blew her mind. Even the Mac & cheese we ordered for our son was fantastic. Wine list was really impressive. we tried the Semper Pinot Noir and were so happy to have it delivered slightly chilled. the wine was outstanding. 1 star is too much for this place. I tried to call to order dishes for my friends after I learned they had been seated for dinner here. I wanted to surprise them with champagne and dessert to celebrate a very significant day. I was literally calling to spend hundreds of dollars with them, but was greeted with the rudest staff who were not willing to help me out. Food: very good. We started with the clams, which had a very decent white wine sauce. My salad was beets and goat cheese. Nice flavor, but a little light on the goat cheese but not really a fault of the dish. I'm just a fan of goat cheese. My meal was the capaellini pasta - excellent. Prepared well. Great flavor. Portion sizes were appropriate. Service: Again, very good. Took a couple minutes before our server found us, but when she did, she was attentative and personable. It was not our first time dining there, so she gave a quick intro and went into the specials. Atmosphere: should be 5 stars but probably was closer to 3. We sat at the chefs table, which can be fun and engaging. The chefs didn't speak to us at all, which is fine. I think there is just room for improvement in that regard. Beside that, the restaurant has a very nice feel and look. The outdoor patio is comfortable, not cramped. They had live music, which was a nice touch. Long ignored on trips to Rosemary, we have discovered this excellent spot on our last two trips. The second time around, it has now landed in a must-have spot when at Rosemary. The food is consistently excellent. We had seared snapper with a vegetable ragout and the cappelini with wood grilled shrimp. Both dishes were so good we just shoved them into the middle of the table and shred equally. The wine is fantastic and off the beaten paths of the standard wine list. We enjoyed both a Pinot and a Cabernet recommended by our server and both were really, really nice. I mean, it says wine bar--they know what they are doing. The fifth star is the atmosphere. The courtyard with music is an absolute must. Tables on the sidewalk are also a great idea. This is a four star and with having if you sit inside, but the ambience of the other two pushes it over the top. read more

From the roasted beet salad, which we shared, to our individual fish dishes to the Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée and fresh pot of French Press Coffee this was a stellar dining experience. Mike had the fish of the day - red snapper over shrimp succotash, and I had the Simple Grilled Grouper served over a bed of fresh vegetables and finger potatoes. Both were prepared to perfection. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive, the live music was really good though a bit loud for conversation. We sat outside in the courtyard and the atmosphere was superb. (One interesting twist....they have old movies playing on the wall of the adjoining building of the courtyard...no sound just old B&W classics. It was interesting to try and identify what was showing while not having the sounds intruding over dinner.) We will be back! read more

After reading the two reviews already on here for this relatively new restaurant, we were pretty excited to try Edwards. We had an experience that was just ok. The outside table was a bit cramped for 4 people but otherwise the setting and ambience was nice. The wine list has some good selections and seemingly reasonably priced. We had the fish tacos and while the grouper that they used in the tacos was fresh and excellent, it was just an average fish taco. One of the things that I like most in a fish taco is the contrasting flavors and this really required a lot of lemon, jalepenos, and even salsa added to give it any flavor. We were told by the waiter that there would be banana chips on the side but they were regular old corn chips. The salsa tasted more like marinara - only tomato flavor came through. Our kids got the grilled cheese and tomato soup which was also just ok. My son wanted me to tell you that the soup was too lumpy. read more

The hostess's were not super friendly and made us wait to sit down (even with our Nowait app reservation) because the whole party of 5 wasn't there because one of us was walking from the car. Edward's is a really classy place in Rosemary Beach. The outdoor patio is wonderful and they have live music. Wine selection is excellent as well. I had the tuna tartare and shared the grouper as well as scallops. The scallops were especially tasty. The tartare could have used a little more seasoning. The arugula salad was solid. Edwards is the sort of place that you go to during vacation and think about long after you've come back to the real world. The food here, which is a seafood heavy, very fresh, southern inspired menu, is absolutely incredible. We had a large group and basically tried around 3/4 of the menu between us. The outdoor seating with the double doors to the kitchen and the love music all combine to make for a great ambiance for dinner. Some of the big highlights of our meal included: the little neck appetizer, the fish tacos and the seared duck. If you're spending any time in RB, this place is a must. read more

This place was okay. If not for the ambiance, I probably wouldn't really think about going back, food wasn't great. We were sat outside on the patio, which we loved. The music was great and the patio was beautiful. We started with the tuna tartare and it was really good, but had several pieces of fish that had very poor flavor and shouldn't have been in the dish. I had the grouper and my husband had the red snapper. What came with his snapper was very odd, it was okay, but both something I would want coming with an expensive meal. My grouper was over cooked and dry. The cauliflower mash and green beans were delicious. We had the creme brûlée and cobbler for dessert. Creme brûlée was great, cobbler was average at best. Havana and la creme are so good, coming here is pointless other than for the ambiance and a glass of wine. We will skip the food next time! read more

We dined there for one of our rare date nights while on vacation and it was one of my two favorite meals! This was our first trip to Rosemary Beach - so we went based in other reviews. We had the Heirloom tomato salad, Steamed clams, shrimp cocktail, and Mahi Mahi special. Food was fantastic and fresh, just what we were looking for! Service was great and wait was short, despite the hostess estimate of 45 mins to an hour, we only waited 20 mins. We sat on the outdoor patio (sidewalk area) and had a great view of the west green where they were having an outdoor movie night - which really added to the experience!! They don't take reservations so plan accordingly. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Rosemary beach!! read more

Call us suckers for the live entertainment. We gave Edward's another try on this visit to Rosemary and this was the last dining experience we will have here. Period. Everything from the attitude of the blonde hostess and her dark haired co worker to the abysmal table service burned us again. The music was very good but that was it. Drives me crazy for a hostess to pull the power play of keeping guests waiting for a table when there are several tables open and cleaned. Why have a wait when clearly you have open tables? I enjoyed the food and service at this restaurant. My family and I were eating outside when the sky started to flash lightning. The staff stated it could start raining so they quickly moved us into the restaurant along with our food and drinks. Very top notch service! When it came time for the bill, my family kept trying to pay for each other. We had a really nice experience and meal here at Edward's on the last night of our trip. We were told the wait would be 30-45 minutes, so we went to have a drink elsewhere. It turned out to be a lot less time, however, so we asked to be "reset" on the list. While this time ended up being accurate, the rain messed up the scheduling because a lack of outdoor seating so we were pushed back a few more minutes. Despite all of this, the waitstaff was still super friendly and apologetic. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and split them. The crab bisque, deviled eggs, crab cake, and beet salad were all fantastic. We liked the tuna tartare as well, but I have had better preparations of that dish. The atmosphere is what makes this place. We always eat in the outdoor veranda, where they play old black and white movies projected on the wall. It's quiet usually and there's a musician playing classics on the acoustic guitar and singing. There's a fountain in the middle that sort of adds privacy between tables. The food is okay. It's not bad and it's not magnificent. It's a little pricey in my opinion, but is comparable for the area. The wait staff is attentive but the attitude of the staff is poor. We go strictly for the atmosphere. If they were to move locations, we probably wouldn't go. read more

I am embarrassed to say of all the times I have visited Rosemary Beach (over the past 20 years) I have never dined at Edwards. I think because they do not take reservations. Last night after cocktails with friend we needed dinner around 8:30. The staff was very accommodating to seat us outside to watch everyone pass by. The meal was incredible because the dishes we ordered were so simple, but yet tasted incredible. I started with the tuna tartar. It was prepared unlike the others you would get on the coast covered in soy sauce. The tartar was the same as steak tartar with capers, egg and perfectly cooked bread that had a smoky taste. For dinner I tried the Capellini. Again, so simple with tomatoes, garlic and basil. I could not believe how great this dish was. We finished with crème brulee and coffee. Fantastic meal with fresh ingredients. I look forward to my next visit. read more

My husband and I eat here often. As locals, we have tried just about every restaurant around and it's one of our favorite places. The food is consistently excellent and there is usually a new surprise to try, as the menu is updated often. The staff is great and very welcoming. So bummed about this place! I have heard great things about Edwards and decided to try. I am a major foodie and unfortunately, this did not do it for me. The steaks were charred and tough, Brussels and macaroni bland. On the upside, the atmosphere was fabulous and so was the service.
