I have to get an Eegees when in Tucson. It's hard to explain what an Eegees really is unless you have lived in Tucson, Az since it's a Hometown specialty. It's better than a slushee or slurpy. They also have a sandwich called The Eegee Grinder which is my fav. I have to brag about this particular location too. It was the first time I had been at this location and the drive through girl was amazing. Best service I have had at any Eegees. She was friendly, easy to understand and upsaled big time. She even wrote a cute little note about wishing us a great day on our bag that our sandwiches came in. I sure wish I knew her name. I had their fries and they were really good BUT I also decided to try their coffee eegees. BIG mistake! It was so sweet it was like sucking on sugar cane and it was super watery. If they are going to have a coffee eegee, they should give you a choice of loaded with sugar, lightly sugared, or no sweetness at all. The taste was really offputting. The was my first time going there. When I walked in I told the gentleman at the counter that I wasn't sure what to order because this was my first time ordering from them. I asked about the Original Grinder sandwich and was told it was a big seller. I ordered it to go along with a Eegee Pina Colada. When I got back to work and took a bit of the sandwich it was extremely hard and dry. I couldn't believe that it didn't come with any condiments. Just bread meet and cheese, it was very dry and lacked flavor. I ate a few bites from one half then tossed the rest of it away. Later after work I stopped back at Eegee's to inquire about my terrible experience with the Original Grinder Sandwich the same person who took my order was still there and told me that it was missing a spread that went on the bread, I knew something was missing from the sandwich I received. He offered to take care of it and was very nice about it but said he would have to talk to his manager. When she came to the counter she told me I should have immediately brought it back but I couldn't because I had to be at work. I did have the receipt with me but that didn't matter she wanted to play hardball. Originally I only wanted the spread that was missing so I could eat the other half I left in the fridge at work. She demanded that I produce the sandwich so I asked for her name since she didn't wear a name tag. Kylie told me to bring the sandwich back tomorrow for a refund. I told her I write reviews often and this one wasn't looking good so far. Kylie replied I really don't care ! So instead of me just wanting the condiments that was missing I now wanted a refund. On top of getting a sandwich that wasn't made properly I also received terrible customer service. Super easy drive through experience. Ordered a size small eegee's and fries. Quick preparation and all the staff I saw wore masks inside. Was out of that drive through in 5-7 minutes with a couple cars in front of me. Eegee's is a must in the hot temperatures of Tucson given how refreshing and fruity it is. I like the classic flavors Strawberry and Pina Colada. Not a super even 50-50 split of the two flavors in my cup but that's still ok. Eegee's fries with ranch are legitimately the best fries in town. Ordered a lemon Fizz and a large fries. Was surprised when I got the lemon Fizz and it was green, but that was on me for forgetting about their Christmas promotion. Taste was great. We stop at this location every time we visit Tucson! The staff is always welcoming and friendly. They keep their restaurant well maintained as well! Their food is just your normal subs and such BUT something about it just hits right! And their eegee's are soooo good! It's the main reason why we go there. My personal favorite is the piña colada and my husband loves to get their monthly special flavor. Highly recommend this location! read more

I stop at this Eegee's for lunch during work and it can get packed. Everyone is constantly trying to get orders out left and right but sometimes the line does extend quite awhile. From ordering to getting my food it takes about 5-8minutes. Everyone has been extremely nice and helpful to improve on time but I know the lunch rush is hectic. I continue to support Eegee's and this location, I do not see a time as of now that I won't. They work hard and haven't messed up any of my orders. I give them props for being under all the pressure of drive through and hectic customers. I have been to this location after lunch and went inside. The inside takes much longer than drive thru. If you do not have plans you can go indoor but otherwise even though the drive thru can be a little while it's still much faster than going inside. read more

Worst Hot Italian Grinder. The meat was 1 tiny piece of ham & salami down the length of the 12 inch bread. Then they drowned with what I recognized as store bought Italian dressing on the wilted lettuce. I come to Tucson every 3 yrs, I used to really look forward a Hot Italian Grinder. This easily the worst sandwich in 50 years. I should have gone back to exchange that mess for refund. They are cost cutting by putting meat you could read the newspaper through and the thinnest piece of provolone. I think the Corporate Office should do a unannounced inspection. Drive thru is always quick and friendly. Inside is clean and staff is friendly and quick. They even were able to accommodate huge Gift Card purchases that I did for the company. Get ready Phoenix for Eegees deliciousness! I don't know who discovered this amazing frozen "slush" treat, but they should be nominated for the Nobel food prize. To know Eegees is to love Eegees. On those sweltering 108 degree days, Eegees is your best friend! On a regular basis they have lemon, strawberry, and piña colada flavor available and they also serve the flavor of the month which varies between "Tangerine Breeze", "Jungle Juice", "Cherry Cider", "Orange Dream" and so on... I personally am a fan of the strawberry / piña colda combination. If you're having a BBQ, you can also add liquor to these fine drinks and have a wildly fruity time! They also serve food, though my interest in the company lies strictly in their drinks. They have sub sandwiches which they refer to as "grinders" and some really fatty side orders that'll clog your arteries. The bacon ranch fries, salty soft pretzels & hot dogs to name a few. The buildings themselves look very outdated, but don't let that deter you. The drinks are well worth it. The drive through's are fairly quick too. A must try if you're ever in Tucson! read more

The service at this location is rarely good though. They put their rudest employees on the registers. My family and I came to this location today. We are from out of town. We ended up spending 42$ and some change. We ordered 4 orders of ranch fries that had no topping. We had to share 2 to go order containers for 4 orders. The couple next to us ordered ranch fries and had all toppings. What was the difference?!? I went to the counter and spoke with the shift manage. He apologized of course and the only things he offered was to remake my ranch fries or offer us cookies!! We had already finished all of our food by the time I had spoken with him.... I've worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years. Something more should have been done! I asked for their diet Italian dressing for my salad as I usually do and the girl insisted that was their house dressing. I didn't grow up in Tucson so I missed out, apparently, on being a teenager and hanging out at a local Eegees. As an adult, I'm rather fond of this little sandwich and drink shop. They don't make the best sandwiches - no one would dare call them gourmet - but they are really good and reasonably priced, AND they offer some pretty yummy sides. Their cookies are declicious; their pretzels are... well, just ok. But their fries... oh their heavenly crinkle cut fries. What kind of sandwich shop sells fries? Not many. But Eegees sells perfectly cooked diner-style crinkle cut fries that are mouth watering. Luckily, they have just the thing for your watering mouth - four flavors of their name brand "Eegees" drink. It's a sort of thick slushie, almost sorbet textured, frozen drink. They have three standard flavors and a flavor of the month. I've never had a bad one! They all come with bits of real fruit mixed in even though I'm pretty sure the main ingredient in the drink itself is sugar, and not juice. As for food, they make subs. They have turkey, ham, roast beef, and various combinations. They also have their famous Grinder, with ham and salamis plus a homemade house dressing (a sort of Italian dressing) and other fixins. I really like their meatball - good sized meatballs in a pretty good sauce. And for finicky kids, they even have a hotdog. While it looks like a pale nuked dog (I'm fairly certain) my youngest still loves them. Again - not the *best* sandwiches ever, but all around really tasty and convenient with a drive-thru. The bread selection is limited, but always soft. And did I mention those fries?? For parties, Eegees offers a few different packs - large three foot subs with a styrofoam bucket of the frozen Eegees drink, and a stack of styrofoam cups and spoons. They even include a cutting knife and the party sub comes on a cutting board-like plastic surface. If you want convenience for a party at a park or a backyard gathering, Eegees is a great choice. In fact, it was through these parties at friend's houses that I was first introduced to Eegees. Their consistency in quality, price, and convenience keeps me coming back. read more

Amazing Eegee frozen drinks! Really great to have in the summer when you need to cool down. They also have a pretty good sandwich called the Grinder. I think it would be referred to as their signature sandwich and you can also order it as a turkey grinder which is what I get. I get to window and the gentlemen, reads my Order back. I tell him I ordered the DELUXE grinder with no Pepperdine's, not the original! He got all snarky on me and said that's why I read it back, well the rude girl that took the order didn't! I told him forget it, I'll just take it, well it still had Peppercinis. The fries, were white, not even crispy or golden. They put the ranch dressing that I didn't order on top of the fries and smashed the uncooked fries.
