Center bar. Classy place with champagne!!

Friendly service and a nice setting on my Saturday evening out with a friend's birthday! They have oysters!

My mom and I popped in here for a snack. It's super unassuming from the outside but a beautiful space on the inside! The staff was friendly and I love that they use champs cages as napkin rings. My mom and I shared a beautiful tomato salad, which I'm not seeing on the menu now; perhaps it's seasonal? It was delicious. We also got the grilled half-wheel of cheese. We got the brillat-savarin, which we met in NOLA and have been obsessed with ever since. I got a few different glasses of bubbles, all were delicious of course. Definitely recommend!

The Mrs. and I had dinner last night at Effervescence. She had been wanting to try caviar so I thought why not try it in New Orleans. I've had caviar before. It can be a stuffy and pretentious experience so I was looking for something that was more approachable than the usual white apron and bow tie experience. We arrived at Effervescence early in the evening. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get seated right away. The hostess gave us the wine and champagne list, which is one if the most extensive I've seen as it relates to champagne, but also let us know that if we wanted regular cocktails they can make them for us. Indeed ordered a Templeton Rye Manhattan and the Mrs. ordered a Bombay Sapphire Martini. Both were beautifully crafted ad my Manhattan was one of the smoothest I've had. The hostess, who I think is one of the owners, stopped by to check on us. Then we discussed caviar. Since it was the Mrs.'s first time the hostess went over the three options available to us. Some caviar can taste overly fishy and the consistency can be kind of grainy or make you think you're chomping on pellets. We chose the Kaluga Caviarr which are large charcoal grey eggs that can best be described as buttery. I previously had caviar that was served on bilinis. This seems to be the norm but not the rule. Effervescence is a little more casual in their approach in that they serve it with house potato chips(both regular and spicy) as well as the usual crème fraiche and chives. It was wonderful! Eating caviar off of potato chips takes away the pretentiousness of the whole experience but so does the atmosphere at Effervescence. It isn't stuffy or pretentious. You can dress casual and you don't have to order champagne if you don't want to. Thus, going against the caviar code. For dessert we had the Stawberry and Pistachio Rosewater Chantilly Cream for dessert. FYI-last night was the last time it will be on the menu. It was probably the best dessert I've ever had. The service we received from Dylan and the rest of the staff was incredible. We were left alone and not rushed. Effervescence sits in the outskirts of the French Quarter. It was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel and can easily be walked to from anywhere in the French Quarter.

Love our time here!! A nice break away from the craziness of NOLA. Great bubbly selection and some of the best gulf oysters I've had! We walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and we're able to get a seat for 2 at the bar. We both orders a few gulf oysters and the champagne flight! Great service, clean interior, and super cute! I'd definitely go back next time I'm in town. Plus I loved the complementary popcorn.

Great event venue on North Rampart. Love the indoor/outdoor spaces. The garden patio with the water fountain was so peaceful and relaxing. The appetizers and passed light bites were delicious. Loved the caviar bites served on a potato chip. The truffled fries served in a cup were hot and crispy. The table filled with appetizers was a nice touch. It was like a never ending app table as the treats kept getting refilled. Brussels sprouts were served on a skewer. Perfect bite, a bit addictive. Delicious deviled eggs, crab legs and olives rounded out the savory selections. Who doesn't love a macaron tower? Chocolate. Pistachio. Rose water. Lemon. Take one...and then another sweet bite. Yum! Although they are known for their creative cocktails, the mock-tails were so delicious and refreshing. Wish I knew how they were made. Great place for a private event or a bubbly brunch in the French Quarter.

This is such a fun girly place for drinks and appetizers. Our server was a doll! She took great care of my friend for the first stop on her birthday tour! I love the small bites and sparkling flights!

If you want a little " extra" something while visiting NOLA- this is the place to go! What a gorgeous setting for a unique Sunday Brunch. Service was the best. The champagne which was recommended with caviar brunch was nice and crisp. As you can see from my photo- all that went into presentation was impeccable. Love Effervescence! Sign me up for my next Brunch soon!

A desperate scramble for a bar that was open on Mardi Gras led me here, and I'm so glad it did. Effervescence is a champagne bar that does that uniquely NOLa hi/low thing so well. Classy champagnes and shabby overstuffed furniture, with sophisticated bar food and a friendly, quirky staff. The champagne isn't cheap, but it's an easy walk back to the French Quarter and the boundless sunshine makes for a great day drinking experience.

Lovvvvvveree Effervescence!! It's such a cute spot to go get drinks with your girls or do a date night nightcap. You have dining on the inside or the outside. They also host movie nights where they put the screen on outside. I still can't believe that I tried caviar for the first time! Our waiter did an awesome job at describing each option for caviar. This one in particular was the less fishy of the three. I've recently got really into red wines specifically Cabernet Sauvignon! It's a huge glass with a really nice pour! Overall, it's a really great place! If you have not been, I suggest that you go. Reservations are highly recommended!!!

AMAZING. I've visited NOLA before and recently returned for my bachelorette party. We explored every tourist attraction (swamp tour, "world's best" bars, burlesque shows, James Beard restaurants, and more), and this experience was by far our favorite. The champagne was top-notch, and the food surpassed every restaurant we tried. GET THE FOOD. Also, shoutout to the owner (Crystal) who went above and beyond to craft a customized menu at an incredibly reasonable price. If you're with a fun group and want exceptional drinks, dishes, and service, this is THE place. If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular. Highly recommend for bachelorettes, birthdays, or any girl's nights.

This restaurant made my day with just how welcoming and personable the staff is, the beautiful seating, and of course the amazing dishes. If you're wondering if the food tastes as good as it looks, it 100% does. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and I'll definitely be back with friends.

    Ask the Community - Effervescence

I'm coming there from California next week. What's the weather there and do you have outdoor seating?

Hi, currently today, Sunday, November 5th it is almost 80 degrees and sunny but it can change on a dime! Check with the weather app to be sure but probably in the 70's. Yes, we have a beautiful courtyard with bubbling fountain in the back....it's…

    What is the dress code?

At Effervescence you may dress as you like! It's currently very very hot in New Orleans so most are in shorts and cool clothing. No tank tops for men please but other than that we encourage you to be yourself!…

What are your hours Monday Feb 24?

Hi we are always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but will open this Tuesday from 12 noon to 6 pm for Mardi Gras day! We have our full bar and a special snack menu only. Hope to see you then!

    Is it 21 and over?

Yes the policy is guests should be 21 and older, we are a restaurant so occasionally I, the owner allow a child or baby or teenager to come in very early in the evening but it is at our discretion. Drinking is absolutely 21 and older as determined…

Our bartender Will took a while to come get our drink order and took longer to get, one of us never even got our beer. I pointed at someone's drink and told Will I wanted that, the martini special. How is he gonna make me the drink minus the Baileys?!? I pointed to the drink I wanted, simple. My bf ordered a Abita, guess what 45 mins passed and he NEVER got his beer. We asked for the check and Will said "oh your beer". Bro just give us the check and take off the beer. Worst service I've ever experienced. How you going to forget about someone's drink who's sitting right in front of you drink-less plus make a drink wrong. The carousel sits about 25 people and there's 2 bartenders?!? This isn't a club where drinks are getting shouted out. The only thing they have going for them is the rotating carousel bar if the SD one didn't close, I'd say pass and go to that one instead. One and done for me. Good luck if you get Will as your bartender! And sir, no I'm not coming back after the game for you to make it right, make it right the first time!

Not many locations pull that off, yet the Ritz in New Orleans does a very respectable job at it. While New Orleans is undoubtedly known for jazz, The Davenport Lounge builds upon that concept through a highly refined jazz experience. That is a huge plus for any guest of the hotel, as experiencing the city's signature style of music only requires a ride down from the suite in an elevator. The lounge opened in 2000 when the Ritz was established based on the frame of an old department store. Jeremy Davenport, the musician after whom the lounge is named, plays here regularly with his band. The hotel's man restaurant, M Bistro, is essentially a part of the lounge as well. Thus, while technically separate establishments and menus, they share one room with only some columns separating. What does it mean? One can sit down either in the back of the lounge or in the restaurant, all while getting to enjoy the jazz. The food is traditional to the area and genuinely incredible. The drinks are perfectly executed. The service is sharp. All around, The Davenport lounge may not be an old institution of New Orleans yet, but with a couple decades under its belt, it has undoubtedly cemented itself as a luxury jazz party that belongs perfectly in the Ritz.
