I so want to give more stars... however, the explicit bias and passive aggressive behavior of our waiter, Ryan justified the posted stars. Ryan's initial comment seemed a mistake until slick comments continued. He first stated "It's an expensive menu oops excuse me extensive." We gave him a pass every body gets one. My friend later ordered artichoke and he asked "Are you sure? Have you had that before?" The servers were very informative and accommodating. We didn't ask for a manager as the vibe is nice and I'm sure the whole restaurant would have become aware. I will be returning in hopes for a better experience. I'm only curious as to why the slick comments to myself and my friend. Ryan, FYI we were both educated, well established US citizens. Went with my daughters while they were in town. What a wonderful experience! We were lucky enough at the beginning of our evening to have the entire patio to ourselves( everyone else was busy at French Quarter Festival). It is truly magical outside with the fountain, plants and lights. None of us were familiar with sparkling wines. Dustin was a great help. He educated us enough that we were able to choose flights that we would enjoy. He helped with the second round as well! The warm Brie with dates and toast soldiers was a perfect complement to our drinks. The olive oil popcorn with spices was a nice nibble. We were able to see the chef in the kitchen while they worked. The first 6-7 times I've visited it was spectacular!!! They were just getting off the ground and things were a little bumpy but the staff at the time was extremely friendly and were working their asses off to take care of the customers... Fast forward to tonight, IDK WTF happened but they staff is trash and I'm gonna just call it... racist. My friend and I walked from across the street after getting tattoos simply to sit down and have a drink. We weren't acknowledged by the bartenders, we had to ask for EVERYTHING twice and were not once checked on throughout our stay. Meanwhile across the bar, the 5 white women who came in after us were constantly engaged. Yeah people are quick to say "it's not always about race" but the thing is... when racist shit happen, we know WTF we feel and it's not to be argued. We took a short walk from our hotel Bourbon Orleans near Jackson Square. It was our last night in town and we had the Steamboat Natchez to catch at 6:30. We had light bites and some champagne. Restaurant is gorgeous. Food was delicious. Champagne was perfect. I did, foolishly, order a Lambrusco. It is not my cup of tea and I should have known better. Incredible food in a hip, immaculate, gorgeous space! The food was exceptional with small plates allowing us to try many unique and tasty foods. We had the gulf seafood plateau, which was so amazing. We had crispy Brussels sprouts - again, so incredibly tasty and original with a garlic cashew dip. AND! The popcorn bowl was a meal in and of itself!! I highly, highly recommend this place. The bartenders are not exceptionally conversant or overly friendly, but it could be that they were giving us our space. We were greeted by a bow-tie wearing, native that added to the white walled ambience. The menu is catered to a champagne crowd, but the bar is well stocked and the signature cocktails all looked very good. This is a tasting plate menu, so don't expect full meals. I can't say enough good things about this place!! I'm a champagne fanatic from Chicago, and have been wanting to come here for a few years. It far surpassed all expectations!! We were able to try both "La Crème" and "Thanks for Flying with Crystal." The highlight was definitely the Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle, which I had never had before- phenomenal, and we were able to purchase a bottle to go at the end of the evening! We got a few glasses at the end in addition to the flights, including Krug- so fun to be able to purchase a glass!! My husband and dad were able to get pours of Blanton and an old fashioned, so they have something for the bourbon lovers as well. Don't miss the truffle fries!! My sister and I visited this bar and sat outside. They are doing a wonderful job of social distancing. We ordered two bottles of wine, caviar, and salmon dip. Everything was great and efficient, but it was the staff and owner that were the stars! They were so nice and knowledgeable about the wine and caviar. It just made the whole experience pleasant. We didn't even know that the place closed at 8, but they didn't rush us out at all or let us know. They were like "stay until you finish your bottle". A lovely champagne bar that I highly recommend for any time of the day - brunch, lunch, supper, and late nights! Upon entering, you will notice the beautiful bar and fresh elegant décor. The service is also pleasant and my server was knowledge about their wide variety of champagnes. I hosted a 40th birthday party and bubbles tasting at Effervescence and it was all around a smashing success! Crystal, the owner, was so lovely and amazing to work with. We had some special dietary needs and she was so attentive to the details and accommodating, I really cannot say enough good things. This place is as amazing as I expected and I've been wanting to go for years since they opened. The ambience is spacious and gorgeous and the service is impeccable. If you want to splurge on champagne, you can definitely spend hundreds of dollars but you can also pop in between 4 and 5 for apéritivo hour and get $6 apérol spritzes with snacks such as paprika flavored popcorn and marinated olives. They have a variety of champagne flight options. I got the parlez-vous français and loved it! Definitely come in for a relaxing evening and to enjoy their rotating food menu. I go by this place all the time, but have never actually gone in. We stopped by as we bar hopped for my friend's bday. They had 30% off pét nat bottles which was a great deal. They brought out little bowls of popcorn which was wonderful, although I seemed to be the only one who liked it. It was so nice out so we sat outside. They have a long couch that we claimed and it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy some pét nat :) I was really tempted to try their half of a cheese wheel because that sounded amazing, but we had just eaten a ton of cheese. We've both recently taken an interest in champagne so I was delighted to see that this establishment had just opened. The atmosphere is so streamlined and laid back. I didn't feel pressured or out of place at all. We took two seats at the bar to receive some recommendations from tbe bartenders and we weren't disappointed at all with their service. They were all very helpful, attentive and really seemed like they loved their jobs. In the end we settled on the full tasting of Spanish champagne which ran about $24 for each of us, so $48 total. We had eaten and drank a bit before so I believe we could have just done one hald tasting and split it. We really like this place quite a bit. There is an excellent range of champagne, cava, Prosecco, spirits, wine and even a few beers available. We have been here on many occasions. This past Friday went with a group of five women for what started out as a happy hour but we enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed until 11pm. Our table was at the front of the restaurant - with both chairs and some banquet seating. We each started with a flight - Italian and French flights were our fancy. We also decided on full pours. It is a nice option to have a full pour or a half pour. The French flights ended up being the favorite of the evening. In addition to the flights we ordered food throughout the evening. The avocado lettuce cups were delicious, light and satisfying. They come three to a plate. We added an order of the fries with the tapenade dipping sauce (which is really excellent), an order of the Brussels sprouts, and an order of the grilled half wheel of cheese with toast soldiers. Both were excellent. The grilled half wheel of cheese is a bit small - but very rich. The toast soldiers are tossed in olive oil and then crisped - and those are addictive - but also very rich. We love the house popcorn that is seasoned and drizzled with a touch of olive oil. We finished with the spicy tuna which was also lovely. The place was hoppin when we arrived and there was an exodus of sorts by 8pm (people meet here before reservations elsewhere) and then it was a steady hum until we left at 11pm. People were stopping in as we were leaving because it is such an inviting place. When full it can get a bit loud because of all of marble and hard surfaces - but it isn't deafening. Because it was an unusually nice evening for this time of year they left the front door open-which created a nice vibe. The chandeliers and candles make for ambient lighting - but no so dark that you struggle to see. There is a grand piano in the back, as well as the small courtyard. If you want to have a nice event this is definitely a place to consider. If you want to come and be fancy, you can. If you want to come and learn about wine/champagne and explore - that can be done too. The staff is very knowledgeable and if the person handling your table can't answer your question, they will find someone who can. We like this place and keep it on the rotation. read more

We tried several things but my favorite was the Caviar Galette de Rois with a side of champagne It was the perfect end to all of the Mardi Gras indulgence! Hot fries with yummy aioli dip, oysters with mignonette, and perfectly cooked scallops. The drinks were also amazing. I got a gin cocktail and my companion got a cranberry mocktail. After spending time in Reims studying champagne, it's one thing I know a lot about. It would've been nice to get more info about the champagnes we were choosing than just the name. I mean...we're in a champagne bar. And the Yelp guide says "classy attire"...nope. Even the waiters and waitresses had on what looked like comfortable, but very dirty shoes. Oh well. Comfort over style. It's just a champagne bar, with "Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame '06" for $425 a bottle. Who needs it served in classy shoes... side eye It took a while for my "War of the Rosés" flight to arrive and every single drop was delicious. I found a nice tasting guide online that walked me through my 3 tastes. Thank God for Google. Years ago I heard that champagne was fun, vibrant, celebratory...it wasn't for the drab or those who would bore another with mundane stories of work and their dry behavior...we showed up to Effervescence to celebrate our anniversary and lo and behold, it was boring. 1. The place was dark. It seemed like I should be secretly drinking bourbon in a speakeasy. 2. The staff personnel didn't take interest in explaining what champagnes were amazing and why we should drink them. 3. They never checked on us. 4. I had an Armstrong smash and it was great. 5. The darkness distracted me from enjoying ourselves 6. Our person still ignored us as we tried to give him our money so we can escape to actual darkness provided by the night sky. 7. It is so swanky inside, and really does feel Parisian with the decor. While it is a little expensive I think the experience makes it worth it. Service was very attentive and friendly. The brunch bites that they have on the menu were great. There was 6 of us and we decided to eat family style so that we could try a bit of everything.
