The food was good but my experience was really bad! The wait time! Crazy! When you get in and think you're off the hook, no! Before the servers get to you and ask about your order, another 20 minute wait. The food came and I was just thinking 'it was worth the wait', but halfway into my meal I got stung by a bee on the outdoor patio. Flies perched on my food too. When I went ahead to pay and complain , they offered me a drink! A drink? Half of my whole meal was still out there. But I just left because it just wasn't worth any hassle. Today was our first time at this restaurant and we're absolutely blown away by the service and food! From the moment we entered, we were greeted with kind hostesses who sat us promptly. Ive been here several times at the request of my husband and have yet to have a great meal. At best the meals have been subpar chain food. We had a free morning this past Sunday and due to limited good brunch options, we ended up at Egg Harbor. To my delight, I saw they revamped their menu and added some more modern breakfast items: Shakshuka, Avocado toast, etc. I ordered the avocado toast (honest, I thought they wold mess up Shakshuka...avo toast is hard to screw up, or so I thought) There are only two ways I think you can mess this up: Skimp on avocado and/ or not use fresh ingredients. There is no cooking involved, so you cannot hid crappy quality. This was the POOREST attempt at AT Ive ever seen.....There was almost no avocado on it. The avo was smeared like butter on toast, just a swipe..and the arugula on top was yellow and wilted. I sent it back and got the turkey club sandwich. It was boring, but at least they put the turkey on it? Low expectations.. Safe to say, that was the last time we go there. AMAZING and definitely worth the wait. We tried to come on a Sunday morning for brunch and the wait was over an hour. So a late brunch on Monday while we teleworked would have to do. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because my entire family enjoyed their food and we were seated fairly quickly with a party of 7 people on Christmas Eve. Granted we came 30 minutes after they opened. I'm really pushing for 2 stars maybe even 2.5 because I've never tasted such sad plate of chicken and waffles. We are in Atlanta and their "soon to be famous" fried chicken and waffles are no where near being famous at all. The chicken was INCREDIBLY dry, had no flavor, and the breading fell of the chicken completely. I asked for another piece of chicken and when it came out - same thing. The second I cut into it it fell apart and not in a good way. The manager told me they brine it in buttermilk and their potato seasoning the day before. Then batter and fry it in flour, potato seasoning, & garlic powder. Where's the salt? Pepper? Garlic powder? In either the brine and/or the flour. Oh! And I don't hear you all using a binder to ensure the breading sticks. Just terrible. I can list 100 places here in atlanta that serve better fried chicken and waffles then this. To add insult to injury that isn't a chicken thigh. It's a small chicken breast. In addition, the hot honey wasn't hot at all. There wasn't a touch of spice to it. All in all DO NOT GET THE FRIED CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. My soon to be mother in law said the breakfast potatoes tasted frozen as well. Whack. Madison did a great job attending to our need, so customer service is great. My food...not so much. Would I go back? Hell nah. read more

Veronica sat us down and took our beverage order and answer all my annoying questions with ease. Madison our waitress ... the most amazing waitress ever! I pretty much created my own Nova Platter there with all their support. They were willing to customize anything and everything. The food tasted amazing and my 9 year old daughter even commented that I better tip her atleast $20 . It was 5 of us and everything came out flawlessly. The team work there really shows. I can go on and on but you get the point. We ordered the Berry Ola oatmeal which was the perfect balance of savory and sweet. This was my second and last visit to EH. Just wasn't good. This time, I tried the blueberry pancakes with a side of "crispy" bacon. Service was a bit slow, with the bacon arriving when I was about halfway through my pancakes. The pancakes were barely warm when I got them and cooler when the bacon finally showed up. About two inches of the perimeter of the pancakes were dry and stiff like cardboard, while the center was doughy mush. As for the bacon, it sat in a small puddle of grease on the plate, as limp as cooked spaghetti, and had no flavor but for the grease. Thin, limp, and just no flavor at all. That, and lukewarm coffee left on the table in a carafe, was not worth half of the $25 spent. But the place was busy! I don't get it. read more

We almost immediately got seated even though it looked like there were a good amount of customers already in the restaurant. Our waiter was this nice man that did a thorough job explaining the menu to us as well as their specials. He brought out our waters and mimosas in a timely manner and took our order as soon as we were ready without us having to wonder when he was going to come back to our table. I ended up ordering the Seafood Frittata because I cannot resist shrimp on a tasty dish. That plate was AMAZING! Everything tasted like heaven, from the shrimp to the omlet, potatoes, and muffin. I didn't finish it all because it doesn't take much to get me full but I would definitely order this dish again. For anyone that goes I would highly recommend the Seafood Frittata and it makes me sad that it's a part of the seasonal menu because it will be a sad day when this dish is no longer available. I have always passed this place but never really went in to eat normally because I'm usually in a rush and the parking lot looks packed out (not a bad thing). Today I had an X-ray done nearby so I decided to stop in and get some work done. Great Customer Care Ok, I gotta say that I was a bit thrown off when I came in. First off I say the slew of umbrellas left in the waiting area which was pretty neat to me so I didn't have to bring in my wet umbrella - but after crossing into the front desk area, I was met with a slew of energetic greetings by the two in the front. A gentleman energetically walked me over to my choice of a table or a booth (pretty awesome that they actually gave me a choice since I planned on working on my laptop a bit). The waitress was super bubbly and friendly and quickly explained the special for the day in a way I couldn't refuse so we went with that. FOOD (could be better ) I gotta say, because of many of my friends who come here often I expected a bit more of an experience with the eggs here but lets dive in: I got the 3 egg, avocado with English muffins/jam and grits (subbed the potatoes). Before I married my eggs to the English muffin and jam, I wanted to see how they are seasoned first so taking a bite into it - it appeared they were not seasoned at all. There was bacon, cheese, tomatoes blended into the eggs and that was the only flavor you got out of it. The issue was there was not enough mixed in to create an overall flavor for the eggs so you're still getting a mouthful of tasteless eggs and occasionally biting down on bacon or something to help with it. Bringing this all together in my self made sandwich, the jam that came with it worked very well with the English Muffins and topped with the eggs and avocado, it worked better that way. The grits came out looking just lovely but lacking any flavor. I was totally disappointed in that fact. I am thinking just a bit of salt-love (yes SALT LOVE) would have made it a ton better. OVERALL The service here is top-notch but If your going to do a dish that everyone can do at home, you need to elevate it in a way that they want to come back for the experience. Egg Harbor Café gets it right! There's a reason for usually having to wait for a table here! The food and service is consistently great. The Egg Harbor Café menu does have the usual offerings as well as daily specials. I enjoy their their fully loaded omelets, and pancakes. I often order grits as a side too.. My daughter enjoys their skillet entrees and flavored juice offerings. Our entrees are always promptly served and delivered hot! Being delivered hot is very important to preserving taste and my desire to return! I keep returning! My favorite server is Anna. All of the servers I've had are really wonderful but Anna is awesome! She doesn't mind the simplest or most complicated request, and she takes care of it with a smile! Egg Harbor Café is a great place to enjoy great food, great service, and great people! read more

The restaurant was spacious and clean and the wait staff were very attentive for how busy the place was. The food was overall above average. I ordered the cold brew and did not regret it. The cold brew was one of the smoothest cold brews I've ever had. They serve it to you in a tall glass which is enough for about 3 cups which was fantastic. I ordered the Down Home Biscuits and Gravy with a side of corned beef hash. The biscuits were a bit dense but very moist and the gravy was very flavorful although a little on the salty side. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed them. I asked for the corned beef hash to be well done and they happily complied. Matt's Meaty Skillet was also a strong choice. A large helping of various breakfast meats with eggs and an English muffin. For a healthier option, Everyday I'm Brusselin' is a viable choice. It comes with various chopped vegetables and cauliflower rice, cheese, eggs, and bacon. All the meals were great portions for the price paid. I overall enjoyed my experience at the restaurant. I do recommend going on a weekday if you have an interest as the wait for weekend brunch will get pretty crazy.
